​Gwendolyn Worthy is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. She is a USAF Veteran. As an enlisted officer, she worked as an engineering assistant. Her duty stations were Robins, AB, Georgia, and Hahn, AB, Germany. She is a breast cancer survivor. She retired from the Department of Energy, Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) after 35 years of government service.

​Commander Worthy believes that it is our sacred mission to preserve and protect the history and legacy of contributions made by African Americans in defense of the United States of America.
