Jerusalem Market on Elm will feature Middle Eastern Specialties such as Falafel, Hummus and Tabouleh. We also offer Authentic Kabobs and Shawerma made with our very own Recipes from the Old City of Jerusalem!


Founded by our father, Saliba Hanhan in 1989, The Original Jerusalem Market in Sedgefield has been offering loyal customers the best Middle Eastern food and market specialties for nearly three decades. My brother Omar and I grew up in the shop and have been working along-side our father for years, with our expertise, knowledge and passion for the food of our heritage always increasing. When customers started asking for more prepared foods and a place to enjoy them onsite, we decided the time was right for the next generation to grow our family business. So began Jerusalem Market on Elm, a full service restaurant in the heart of Downtown Greensboro.


Utilizing our family’s 27 years of experience and numerous decades-old partnerships with both local meat and vegetable suppliers and the highest quality overseas traders, Omar and I are finally able to give Greensboro all the best our culture has to offer. We are extraordinarily proud to have been able to serve our guests food from our home and our hearts and look forward to continuing our tradition in downtown Greensboro.

We are known for our fresh and healthy dishes, starting with our famous Chicken Souvlaki made from fresh, 100% all natural chicken bought locally every day and marinated overnight and cooked right when you order so it can come to your table tender and juicy.

Our fresh Gyros, slow cooked in our rotisserie gyro machine, are full with flavors of Greek herb and spices. Pork Souvlaki is made exactly the same way that you will find in the streets of Athens. We prefer to cook our dishes with olive oil. You can’t have our chicken, pork, or gyro without our own tzatziki (a combination of Greek yogurt, sour cream, cucumbers, olive oil, herbs and spices) Our crisp and delicious Spanakopita will melt in your mouth.
