My only disappointment and concern with WestMinister Gardens over the years has been the continued display of items and articles placed on the graves of loved ones and left there for long periods of time. This is a place of respect and beauty for those whom have passed and its very upsetting to see flags, toys, signs, pinwheels, clothing and whatever else people place. At times it has looked liked a fair grounds and arcade situation with way to many trinkets and just 'junk' left on graves. There should be nothing but flowers and if people continued to place all sort of items they should be removed and the families notified of what is appropriate and what is not for leaving at the grave. Most of our family is buried at WestMinister and I have seen it over the years get bad at times. And at certain times it has looked fine, but fall flowers and out of season flowers are often still out even way past an adequate time frame. The fountain is never on and the mowers are pretty ruff when mowing over the headstones. The biggest problem is just all of the unnecessary items left on the graves. I hope this is addressed and corrected, but I have my doubts. It has been voiced before over the years and nothing has been done. I would like to see a statement notice sent to all family members stating policy and then follow through with a cleanup! The cemetery is owned by 'Dignity' lets show some to those who are resting there and do away with all of the unnecessary loading of items on top and around a grave. I personally don't care to see someone's football jersey placed over a headstone.
