The Guilford County Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center will provide timely access to mental health services for children and adolescents (age 4 - 17) and adults presenting in a mental health crisis. The program is designed for those who need urgent behavioral health or substance use treatment and are not experiencing a medical crisis that would typically require an emergency room visit.


Assessment: Our mental health clinician and providers will conduct a focused mental health evaluation, assessing immediate safety concerns and further mental health needs.


Referral: Our team will provide resources and help patients connect to community-based mental health treatment, when indicated, including psychotherapy, psychiatry and other specialized behavioral health or substance use disorder services (for those not already in treatment).


Transitional care: Our team provides in-person assessment and/or virtual follow up during the patient’s transition to connect them with the appropriate outpatient services.
