The Frog King: The nice lady at the desk was extremely kind and helpful. I don't think I've ever had staff this incredible at any hotel I've ever been to.The rooms were exactly what you expect; small bug problem, fist-sized holes here and there, but everything was pretty much clean. Not to mention the surprisingly effective security system. Someone tried to break into my room around 2AM, but not only were there two types of locks in place (one inside the room and one part of the door), but an alarm went off with a noise level fit to wake the dead-sounded like a fire alarm at first. The person who tried getting in ran like Hell, but you bet I was awake and alert thanks to the alarm. Bed was surprisingly comfortable and everything in the room was fully functional.It was $69 for me and my grandad to stay one night. Not a bad price at all! Definitely wouldn't mind staying here again next time I'm in Raleigh.

No closet but room for luggage and hanging bar built in to desk and luggage center with plenty of room in two large cubbies and one drawer. Large vanity with sink to set up bathroom items with shelf underneath. Microwave and fridge are large for a hotel room.Nearby activities: Not a fancy area of town but close to several convenience stores, sams club, gas stations and the second busiest bus route in Raleigh is steps from the door. Downtown is minutes away by car or bus and even a nice walk if you choose.Walkability: You can walk to a few convenience stores and restaurants. The bus stop on one of the most frequent running routes has several stops you can see from the hotel and You can even walk downtown fairly easily on sidewalked streets.

Enrique Padilla: I made a reservation for 2 nights and I stayed only one because the room was dirty and smells really bad, I checked on the next day because I was staying in another hotel. Now when I checked on my card I was charged the 2 nights even though I checked out the very next day. I called the hotel and they are very rude and they are saying stayed 2 days. The place is so nasty that I feel dirty while I was there.

I was in town for a basketball game and this hotel was close to the convention center. Crack heads running up to your car, the heavily smell if smoke in the room with cigarette holes in the blanket. The room looked disgusting I couldn’t get out there fast enough. The heavy set man at the front desk didn’t even bother to ask me why I was leaving. This happened last night. DO NOT STAY HERE. TC Holt: So I booked a room for my brother. His flight was canceled and we called the hotel immediately. The manager on duty said that we will have to pay for one room but they could give us the other 3 days. When speaking to the head manager after speaking to the on duty manager. The head manager a few days later said that we were not getting a refund. This place is a place with no integrity nor honor . They want to do us fill the rooms and they will not honor their word. After reading the reviews I see why they would not give a refund because they can't fill the rooms based upon the nastiness and lack of professionalism. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Shayna Murphy: Can’t say enough good things about our stay here. We did a short staycation from Durham for our anniversary. The room was immaculate, almost wanted to cancel our plans to stay in. We were within a few blocks of our favorite restaurant and it was so easy to walk over and enjoy the great food in downtown. Amenities were great and although we didn’t need much, with how communicative the team was I’m sure we would have been well taken care of if anything came up. We will absolutely be back!

Ron Ruffner: What a wonderful place to stay in Raleigh. The only problem...we only stayed one night. We will definitely stay again. The house is well-appointed and comfortable. We loved the place!!! Of note, if you buy the little ghosts (we bought 2), which are awesome, pack them in your checked luggage. Airport security didn't like them, LOL. Great place, look no further for a place to stay in Raleigh.

Richard Lamb: Helpful, generous and knowledgeable staff. Great location for walking to the visitor center, downtown library, art gallery and many restaurants. Great fireworks show for New Years. Less than two minute walk to a food court with live weekend music at the Transfer Company. I even took an art lesson from artist Barb Cherry at Art Space, an art gallery five minutes from The Guest House.

Zakary Hartford: My wife and I stayed here for the weekend and absolutely loved it. The space is beautiful. It is evident that a lot of care and thought went into the design, appliances, and furniture in the beautiful space. The bed was really comfy and the whole place was spotless. They provide yogurt, fruit, and granola for breakfast and there are drinks and snacks available for purchase. The location is perfect and there are a ton of great coffee shops, restaurants, and attractions within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here next time we come to Raleigh, we loved it!

Simone Says: I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Raleigh, Raleigh, which I booked through Expedia. The pictures and intro on the website made it seem like a clean and safe hotel, but when I arrived, it was a total circus. There were drug dealers and/or addicts around the area and coming in and out of the building. One customer informed me that this hotel is particularly for those that are homeless and being homed by welfare.I am not against welfare recipients, but if this is the type of clientele that the hotel caters to, then it should be made clear to customers so that they can decide if they want to take that risk. I was not made aware of this until I arrived, and I was very disappointed.I called Expedia to request a refund, but they told me that I would have to contact the hotel directly. I did so, and they told me that the only way to get a refund was through Expedia. I called Expedia back, and they told me that they would only give me a $50 refund. I am still without a safe place to lay my head, and I am very dissatisfied with the way that this situation has been handled.I believe that Expedia and Wyndham have a responsibility to ensure that their customers are safe and comfortable. I am very disappointed that they have not taken this responsibility seriously. I urge you to reconsider your refund policy and to take steps to make sure that your hotels are safe and welcoming for all guests.

Razvan Badini: I wouldn’t take a family here. There are stuff here that kids and even adults! Shouldn’t see. The hotel itself is fine. But the area is very unsafe it’s the most ghetto area in Raleigh. Starting from the parking area and the gas station which is in the parking lot or very close, there are groups of people that are on drugs and very high. It was very uncomfortable till we took our stuff out of the car seeing them high. Their body was shaking in the corner all night, and one of them came to us asking for money. 3:00 AM for them it’s like 3:00 PM! They are awake all night doing their evil stuff. I know some would not assume so based off the location in the way it looks on the outside, but this hotel definitely deserves recognition. The colors the decoration inside the hotel are very nice and pretty. The rooms were clean and well put together . I had absolutely no issues , there was a busy street in front of hotel yes but that’s about it. If you’re not timid person you’ll be fine. Nothing out of the ordinary when you’re by the city and there is all types of people surrounding. It doesn’t take away the value from the hotel in my opinion. The hotel staff was nice and friendly, my kids loved the free hot breakfast that was included. Over all the place Is up to date very clean and they stay on top of cleanliness and appearance. Next to the hotel is a gas station that seems to be lots of traffic that was indulging in criminal activities. Ppl hang out in front of the hotel. The hotel floors were dirty and bathroom in our room look like it haven't been cleaned in months, just a total let down. We were only there for several hours. Zoe Wisen: DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! I got a room for 2 nights and checked out asap the first morning. Someone one in the parking lot tried to open my car door and then walked around trying to get in other cars, the “abandoned” building next door is far from actually abandoned and you can hear the people coming and going from it all night and see the ladies leaving early in the morning. The free breakfast is white toast, waffles or a bagel with your choices of bad coffee or juice. They also require an extra $50 security deposit at check in (even if you’ve already paid). The whole place is super sketchy.

They said it was because my Credit Card was denied and this is not the truth. Never had a card denied. They were able to sell the room at a higher rate since there was a concert so canceled my reservation and resold my reservation. Makeda: 5/23/23 Update: This location has now put me on a "Do Not Rent" list because I complained.This was my first experience at a Microtel, so I did not know what the process was for extending my stay. I had called the 800 reservations number to facilitate the extension and the CS person I spoke with also did not inform me of the procedure. I am sure anyone can imagine my surprise when the owner's wife came knocking on my door asking me to leave! I got into discussion with her (and later her husband) about what needed to be done and the lack of communication about it - she said "this isn't an Extended Stay Hotel, if you want to stay you should have come downstairs and paid us." I asked her to repeat what she said, thinking that I had misunderstood. She repeated the nasty comment and said that I should have known to come downstairs to pay, but she would not make me leave *this time* if I took care of it ASAP.I went downstairs to take care of the bill, and began interacting with the man at the desk (the owner). As I was taking care of the bill, I was expressing my shock and disappointment in the bad info I was given by the reservations person and the comments made by the woman I'd encountered upstairs. He began getting irate, repeated the comment about not being an Extended Stay hotel & told me I could just leave if I couldn't afford to stay or maybe I was used to staying at a different type hotel. I didn't exactly know what he meant by that, but it was highly offensive and I told him so.If I hadn't been stuck there with no transportation I would definitely have checked out and not stayed or paid another night! The only bright spot was the front desk STAFF, who made an otherwise horrible trip a bit more tolerable. 5* for THEM.Also, I am glad i asked for a copy of my complete folio, because this location tried to cheat me out of my $50 deposit. I know full well that if it was a temp hold the charges should never have appeared on my card statement but sure enough! $50 charged on 3/12 but the paper folio shows that the funds were released. If I hadn't recently reviewed the folio (intuition calling!), I never would have seen the charge. This is FRAUD and I shudder to think of how many customers this has been done to. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again, and probably deactivate my Wyndham account.Your operators are your brand...this location is an EPIC FAIL for generating repeat customers.

Lu: My husband and I are like oil and water, complete opposites when it comes to what we like. We reserved this particular room due to the king size bed and the in room jacuzzi whirlpool tub and it did not disappoint. I am not a big fan of Quality Inn normally but this one was very clean and nice, a pleasant surprise. We will be staying here again when we pass through the area

Shes Geezy: The fact that I made a reservation prior to looking at the reviews and decided to cancel due to poor reviews. Phoned the motel and spoke with a guy over the phone, provided my name and was told that he would search and cancel my reservation. I requested an email cancellation confirmation which I ever received. Phoned the toll free number the next day and was told that the reservation was never canceled. The agent even tried to phone the hotel and was unsuccessful. Just extremely poor customer service. At the end of it all, I am not paying for a room that I requested to be cancelled and the scam of it all is not cancelling the room as requested by the customer so that you can charge them for not showing. Will NEVER, EVER, book at this place again!

The front desk staff was rude and clearly disinterested in their job. The hotel charged me more than the Hotwire rate that I booked, claiming that the extra amount was for incidentals. Brandon Whitley: Not sure how this hotel has 2 stars, when it barely should have 1. Upon arrival of this hotel, we arrived 20 mins prior to check in time. Front desk staff proceeded to tell us to come back in an hour for a different representative since they did not know how to check people in. When checked in, the room itself smelt moldy and musty. The room given had a hardly cleaned handicapped bathroom, where neither of us guests were handicapped, making it completely unnecessary. When asking a simple question of is there breakfast in the morning we get a response of “we got coffee take it or leave it”. And to top off this horrible experience housekeeping decided to take home a very expensive jacket that was accidentally left on the bed prior to check out. Normally hotels put things in lost in found but apparently this is a five finger discount hotel which could be expected from a 2 star hotel. After calling twice to retrieve jacket and speaking to front desk no refund was offered to make up for the stolen jacket or bad stay only “if we happen to find it you’ll have to mail us a box to send it back in” Don’t recommend anyone staying here.

Russell Jimenez III: Don't book anything at Red Roof Inn. I accidentally booked a room for the wrong weekend. Now the hotel won't refund my money after I paid the night that I actually stayed there. So now they are making pay for both weekends. They are thieves and this should be illegal

The location is right off the 40 and everything we wanted to check out in the Raleigh and Cary areas was 5-15 mins away. The staff was super friendly and professional. I wish I had gotten the name of the gentleman at the front desk that checked us; he was very cheerful, patient, and kind. There's lots of room for parking, the room was clean and smelled great, and the coffee downstairs was pretty good! Thank you to the Red Roof Inn PLUS staff for the great experience.

When we first pulled in, there was alot of strange activity going on outside and cars were blocking the entrence. Getting inside the Security who is also the manager of the hotel was very creepy, the guys at the front desk were unprofessional. Inside our room the chair was so shabby, the sheets had stains on them, the Tv did not work, the bathroom was VERY disgusting, the fan was loud and clamorous, the walls were soo thin you could hear what was going on in the next room, the door was soo loose you could kick it down. So we went and reported the room hoping to get another one but all they did was take the chair out and change the sheets, during the night you could hear/ see the manager aka security walk pass the room almost all night being weird. DO NOT RECCOMEND STAYING HERE!!! Can't even stay there for 2 hours smh find another hotel!

Vickie Richardson: After a terrible experience at another location, it was nice to get checked in and have little problems at this hotel. There were a few bugs in my room and I’m having an issue with being charged twice but customer service at the desk when we checked in was fantastic.Rooms: Nice for the most part.

Erica a: This is a terrible hotel and I wish I would’ve seen these reviews earlier. The entire hotel has a BAD SMELL. There were suspicious people in the hallways. The elevator is broken/needs a remodel as the other reviews say. The first room I was assigned was disgustingly dirty and looked as if someone was still staying there. When I switched rooms the second room the couch had stains all over it and the sheets were dirty. Luckily I was only staying one night but I do not recommend ANYONE STAYING HERE.

alijah rosario: A group of us came down to NC for Dreamville fest. We found this hotel last minute as hotels were booking very quickly. When we got to our room within 30 mins or so my friend saw a roach crawling. It was moving so we had to move stuff in order to kill it. I called the front desk immediately. He offered us another room if we wanted to switch. We thought about it and headed downstairs to talk more with him. As we’re going downstairs we see 2 more roaches in the hallway. When I get to the lobby I explained to the guy that there are more than one. He stated pest control came to spray today and that’s why they’re coming out everywhere and that our room is near storage room so they’re near us….. and again offered another room. We told him how are you going to know that it’ll be clean. Mind you, I asked him to inspect the new room and he wouldn’t. He just stated “ I am sure.” But we told him no there’s no way to know as we’ve already seen so many roaches. We asked about a refund and he said that if we want a refund we have to check out.. we go back up to discuss and find another hotel as a lot of hotels are sold out. As we are getting our stuff together we MORE roaches!!! So we hurry and get downstairs ! When I get down there this time there’s a higher up person. I asked who he was and the front desk said he’s the Night Shift manager. The manager looks to us and says oh why are y’all checking out. Is there an issue do you guys want another room? I said absolutely not there are roaches everywhere. The manager heads outside. As I’m discussing the refund, the guy isn’t telling me the right information so I clearly get upset. The manager comes back says again do y’all just want another room. I said no we are getting out of here right now there are roaches I am not staying here. The elevator was broken down. It would move before the doors closed. There’s no inspection sticker whatsoever. This place shouldn’t be operating at all!

Iridian Morales: Never staying here again, the room door barely wanted to close, the bathroom tub was not clean. There were termite all over the room walls and bathtub. There were spider in the bed, I asked for a refund and they claimed that they couldn’t give any kind of refund because I booked through Priceline. Priceline didn’t help either. Place was gross.

Carol Williams-Smith: I was skeptical at first when checking in because the traffic outside and the hotel employees. But I was tired. Check in was smooth, room was on 1st Floor as requested. The bed was comfy, the heat was AWESOME. I'm not a big fame of non carpeted floors. But I understand. The door seem to have a gap under and between the lock and wall. But once my head hit the pillow. All the worries went away. I was there for the weekend and was skeptical about leaving the my belongings in the room. But everything was there when I returned. I checked the bed for bedbugs and there was no sign of any. Let just say I was pleased. I am just now righting this post but the stay was 3/11/2022-3/13/22

john mathis: It is with great disappointment that we must share our experience with Mario, an employee at Quality Inn & Suite Raleigh North located at 2617 Appliance Court, Raleigh, NC 27604Unfortunately, Mario’s customer service skills are subpar and caused unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyous occasion. For North Carolina States graduation, my wife reserved 3 rooms. One room for each of our parents and one for ourselves. Our parents arrived at the hotel at 3:00 to check in and Mario refused their entry and said it was their policy to see the person’s credit card that booked the rooms prior to entry.My wife called Mario and he was extremely rude about the situation. Once I heard the story, I thought there had to be a misunderstanding, so I called Mario and he told me the same story in the same manner as he told my wife. I tried to reason with Mario and asked if we could cancel the rooms and let our parents rebook the same rooms with their credit card? He said we had already prepaid for the rooms, so we’ll be purchasing the rooms twice. I asked if a manager was available, and he said the hotel was privately owned and the owner can only be reached Monday through Friday from 8 til 5.I continued to explain we would not be there until 9:00 that evening and it’s currently only a little after 3:00. I mentioned our parents are elderly, and they had traveled far to get there so was there any other option to allow our parents to gain entry to their rooms prior to our arrival and to show our credit card? Mario flat out said no.I told Mario it would be only fitting that I made sure to give him a 5-star review for his superb customer service. His response was, are you threatening me? I said a review is anyone’s right, not a threat and then I laughed about his insinuation of a threat. After all, considering the situation, Mario and his business practices are comical.So, our parents’ only option was to find ways to pass time until we could get there with our credit card in hand. Then, we all will be able to continue our NC State celebration graduation weekend.This gets even better. Our parents find ways to pass time over the next 4 hours. Our parents decided to go back to the hotel to see if someone more competent was working at the front desk and see if they could get checked-in, but Mario was still there. It was at this point Mario informs our parents which all are in their mid to late 70s, 2 being Vietnam Veterans and one handicapped. That he decided to cancel all 3 room reservations due to him feeling the duress receiving a negative review.We received this news through our parents around 7:00 that evening so my wife and I are still approximately 2-hours away. Mario didn’t bother to notify us directly; he decided it would be easier for him to get word to us that he canceled our rooms, through our parents.This was NC States graduation weekend so we knew this might be a tough situation to find new lodgings at the last minute, but we were able to secure 3 rooms at a better suited hotel right away. The new hotel was only a few minutes away, so our parents didn’t have to travel far to get to the new hotel location.Even better, the new hotel allowed our parents to gain entry to their rooms prior to our arrival and without having to physically show our credit card.Mario showed no compassion and caused a simple solution situation to be as problematic as possible. Mario would rather see 4-senior citizens wait in the lobby for several hours than offer help. Mario must like having the authority to conduct a hostage situation for the elderly, but this isn’t normal behavior. We sincerely hope that Mario takes this experience to reflect on his customer service skills and seek help needed to improve his job performance.If this isn’t possible for Mario, we encourage him to consider a new profession that does not require social interaction. It is our sincere hope that future guests do not have to endure the same unpleasant experience as we did.

Melinda: The walls are thin so you hear everyone talking next door, kids playing through the walls, or in the halls all night. The hallways were dirty, the hotel room was not sanitary, and the hot breakfast that Quality Inns offer is non existent here. Make your own waffle, cereal, or yogurt. That's it. No sausage, no eggs, no biscuits, not even as much as an Econolodge would offer. No maid service, gotta go get your own towels if you want clean ones.
