Ken Robancho: What a team! No one ever thinks about what it would feel like when your A/C goes out at the start of an NC summer. It’s hot! Put a lightning storm on top of that that possibly fried all your electrical components. It’s a terrible situation. BUT…guess who dropped in to save the day?! Cool Change Heating & Air! Jessie ONeill: I attempted to schedule a consult and repair to my HVAC. I called on Tuesday at 1PM to schedule an appointment ASAP and they told me that they might be able to fit me in that day or first thing the next day at 8AM. They didn't arrive on Tuesday which I understood, but expected them the next day. Wednesday I called at 8:50 and 10:45 to inquire about ETA and both times I was informed that I was the next person in line and they would let me know an ETA when they were headed my way. At 10:45 I let them know that I would look into other servicers in the area as they weren't able to guarantee service. At that time I still expected a call when they were headed to my location. I didn't receive a call and I'm glad I reached out to someone else to get my HVAC repaired in this heat as they never kept our appointment. I am disappointed in the customer service of this company and won't use or recommend them in the future.

Rob N: I cannot express enough how great this company has always been to us. I had JD work on my unit years ago when he was just a one man team. Fast forward to now and I can confidently say that his team provides the same quality that he provided many years ago.Story time: I called the number that showed up on my thermostat when my AC broke over the weekend because I didn’t think Cool Change was open on weekends. Long story short the company they sent came out for 2+ hours and couldn’t figure out the issue so they wanted to replace 2 major components for almost $4000.Called JD and Cool change during the week to send someone to look behind the other company. Miles and Vanessa(great attitude and very smart) were sent over to do some magic. In less than an hour they figured it out and was done within the next hour. They were able fix the issue for less than $200. Don’t let these other companies trick you. He went up and down, in and out of the entire system and didn't miss anything. He showed me everything that was needed which in turn needed to be tuned and fixed and he was amazing about it from the get go. I highly recommend Miles to anyone and I want to makes sure he is the one who comes out to look at my system moving forward and for all changes for that matter including the duct work which does need to be fixed as the prior company did not do it properly. Miles had me come into the crawl space and showed me where the system needed fixing, he fixed some vent louvers that were not working, some duct work that had popped out, a few holes and the floor vents so the system worked at 100%! Within minutes, he had a specialist who was called out to my home to fix the issue. The specialist, Nic, was knowledgable, professional, and thorough in explaining his process and how he knew for certain what the issue was. He provided clear explanation of each step he was taking and why, and even showed pictures of what the issue was.From start to finish, the specialist had been called, fixed the issue, and was gone in 2 hours. Rob Scherer: Cool change installed my new furnace over Christmas time 2019, they ran into some issues with my old ductwork. Randy and team worked hard and stayed late to deal with all that. I really appreciate their dedication and workmanship. There was an issue with a (faulty) circuit breaker a few months after installation, they came out and replaced it right away, and also a minor issue with the condensate line, which they caught and fixed. They own their work which I really like. Here we are a year into the new furnace, and I'm hiring them to change all my ductwork, and seal up my crawlspace. I anticipate good work, good value, and them to continue to provide good service to me. 5 stars!

Wes: I had them diagnose my 18 year old heat pump that quit in February '23. Wasn't cost effective to repair (compressor took a dump) so they replaced. Install incorrect unit (incorrect voltage). Not really their fault because it was mislabeled. Returned with correct unit in three days. The techs were very nice and professional. They worked in the cold rain to get it done with no complaining. The office ladies communicated very well. Did what they said and show up when they promised.

Austin G.: I feel obligated to help keep this company’s rating from plummeting and will also be sending a note to WRAL. At the end of the day, it sounds like the tech troubleshot, in order, the things he was supposed to. I’m not an HVAC tech but I at least understand that you can’t test coils for leaks instantly. If the system was low and he filled it back up, the only way to find out if there’s a serious leak or not is to give it a few days or weeks. Don’t let dance culture affect your decision on whether or not to do business with someone. Their reviews were perfectly fine before this incident. As an owner of a concrete lifting business with about 60 5-star reviews, I know how important Google reviews are to a small biz, especially in a saturated market like HVAC. Kudos to the owner for even refunding $350.

Robert meyer: I saw the news report from WRAL saying Frank is upset, because Frank is cooling off in Colorado for work, while his family is stuck in Raleigh, melting like the wizard of oz. 919 Fix my Ac didn't figure out the problem right away...... This is the problem with our country. The news is so fast to point a finger. This company is most likely honest, they have great reviews. But here you have " Frank" working out of town and his A/c goes out. Now "Frank" has a lonely partner at home, who is taking care of the kids doing everything she can, and feels unappreciated because "Frank" is always away, and he doesn't understand how much she does when he is away drinking cold Colorado beer when he gets off work. Now Franks wife is upset because her air went out, and she calls Frank crying. Now Frank has to do his part and call a company to come fix the problem. Well, the technician was unable to fix it, but he or she at least gave Franks wife cool air for a few more days because he filled the system up with freon, not knowing the coil had a leak. So Mrs.karen now has cool air for a few days. Well the system takes a poop again. New company comes out and finds out the coil has a leak. They tell Frank he needs a new system. Well Frank now spent 6000$ on a new system. When he could have just asked the company how much a new coil cost. So the second company came out, and just destroyed Frank more then this company. So really its not 919 Fix My ACs fault. Its Franks fault for not wearing the pants in his relationship, and making his personal family problems stay at home and not pandering how everything else is someone else's fault and just owning up to the fact that his marriage is failing.. and he needs to by a TRANE next time, and not a effin Goodman. If there is any advice I could give you "FRANK"....anytime I want attention, I go steal something from Walmart.... Grow a pair and turn off the News brother.

Gregory Bald: We had a maintenance agreement with R&S Mechanical. Prior to using the agreement, R&S merged with 6 and Fix. We used the first of two maintenance plan and were dissatisfied with the service. The repair person turned off our furnace bc he felt it was located in a closed environment. After 6 years with R&S no one has ever made that claim. We got a second opinion and the company verified that was an incorrect analysis. With that, in February, we requested our money back on the balance of our maintenance plan ($230). After lengthy discussion with the VP, Sandy Lamarre, he indicated a credit would be issued. But last week, I asked for their service at my renta, wrong diagnostic, wrong service. When I called back to say AC still didn't work, suggestion given was another tech visit for more diagonostic for 200$s. So we called another reputed company.. within 15 minutues guy told us the problem was Thermostat tripping zone and not starting the AC at all! I have my entire AC unit replace by Raleigh Heating and Air/Air experts and I have mainteannce plan with them. Now its making me question the entire service.. trust is broken!

Vernon McGrew: I was with Raleigh Heating and Air for many years and happy. They inspected both my heat pumps twice a year and repaired when needed. A couple years ago the local owners sold the company to Air Experts.In October my downstairs was inspected the technician found problems including low coolant (R410A). He then told me about expensive repair options and suggested I should consider replacement. He further told me my heat pump was 13 years old and its about at the end of its expected life.The technician really didn't seem know too much about heat pump control. He told me when the outside temp drops below 36F the heat pump automatically starts the Auxiliary or strip heat when heat is called for. It was 26 this morning. I'm a nerd and know my heat strips weren't needed this morning (I've made lots of improvements to reduce my energy usage). He lost a lot of credibility.Now back to the coolant leak. A different vendor added coolant and "stop leak" to my system and it ran great. I don't know how long it will last but its much better to delay the replacement costing well over $8000.Service:Heating system maintenance

Our AC stopped working in a very hot Saturday night. We called to many AC company for emergent services. Raleigh Heating & Air was the first company calling back. The front desk staff was very nice and patient. The onsite diagnosis trip was scheduled immediately. The technician team arrived on time in Sunday morning and the issue was completely checked and suggestion of replacing the damaged unit was give in details. Code Oliver came the afternoon and explained the replacement very clearly, answered questions professionally and gave the proposal. The new unit was ordered quickly. The installation team came on time two days latter and the new unit was installed, tested in few hours. We have comfortable environment again. The technicians explained the use of new thermostat, installed CO detectors to meet new codes, repaired broken PVC pipes and cleaned the working site completely. Lisa Wood: Wow! I am so amazed by my total experience with Ed Kline and Rainbow Services. He is by far one of the most trustworthy and thorough business owners i have found. He is committed to service, above all else. Our furnace failed last night (during record 17 degree weather). We were referred to Ed, by a friend and he was out this very morning. Not only did he efficiently ascertain our problem (less than 20 minutes) but he took the time to investigate our options. Even options that did NOT include using Rainbow Services to do the final fix. Before he even came to brief us on our problem, he had already called Goodman manufacturing on our behalf and learned that we not only had a new $500 part under warranty , but that our contract also had labor costs pre paid. So, what would have been a possible 1K repair, was reduced to a potential lesser deductible and service fees if we used a goodman dealer. He also made calls to find out how fast he could procure a new part. Since he is not a big company, and not a Goodman dealer, he suggested we call one of his competitors who are such dealers. He even suggested to check whether they have our part in their inventory to expedite our repair. He gave us everything we needed to make this the least expensive solution for us. He also offered to still do the work at a reasonable price, should we have any trouble with his big name competitor or if we felt they were putting our repair off too long and it was necessary to have it done ASAP. My husband and I were so blown away, I wrote this review in thanks for his professionalism and candor. We will use Ed whenever we are able to in the future, and we could not recommend him enough. Plus, as a bonus he is a super respectful, pleasant, good-humored soul. What a gem!

Kim Snyder: If you want personal care from an individual rather than a company (who will send out a different tech each time you make a call) and you want wisdom from an experienced provider and you want honesty, then Ed Cline is your guy! He came promptly on time to fix a clog that was causing water to fill the pan/tray beneath the AC unit in the attic. He jokingly told us he would love to charge us for some freon but we simply didn't need ANY and said other than the clog, our system was in great condition. Mr. Cline was not in a hurry and gave our system a thorough check. ALSO, he answers his own phone! That's a plus these days!

John Laughter: When I bought my house, an inspector said my HVAC would have to be replaced sooner than later. My first winter, the heat went out. Ed came quickly, found a broken fan motor and replaced it right away. He told me the unit was fine and didn't need replacing. I called in the spring for an AC check-up. He cleaned the unit, cleared a clogged drain and gave me a thumbs up. He is fast and very honest (he could have taken me for a new system). I highly recommend Ed and he is the only person I would call. I have recommended him to friends that are very satisfied with his service.

On July 12th, our HVAC unit wasn’t keeping us cool, the T-Stat kept shutting the unit off intermittently. I called at 0700 and spoke to Shannon who took the information and said she would forward it to dispatch. At 0900 Sheeka (sp?) called and told me we were set up for from 2:00-5:00 for service. Omar arrived before 3:00pm, I gave him the information regarding our issues, I found him to be listening intently and sympathetically.
