Alicia Branda: I reached out back in late February to get an estimate to replace my large picture window and a sales rep called me the same day! They came in significantly less than two other quotes I received and I just got the best vibes from their sales rep Dallas. My window needed to be custom made because of its odd size but they were on point with their expected wait time. The only real delay with the install was because of my work schedule but thankfully I wasn’t in a rush for it to be installed. Their guys did a great job at taking out the old window and putting in the new one. This old brick ranch isn’t level anymore and some bricks have shifted but they were on point with measuring every cut to make sure it fit correctly. Alicia L: I had an addition put on my house in 2016. On Tuesday (03/26/19), I had a problem with the sump pump and contacted NCE since it’s under warranty for ten years (I have documentation from NCE verifying this). After a week of email exchanges, I am still unable to go home because I cannot use any water. I sent two documents from NCE with the warranty information (labor and manufacturer) they gave me when the project was completed. Apparently, they didn’t have it or didn’t want to be bothered with looking it up. They responded with giving me the name and number to the plumbing company they used to install the pump. I called the plumbing company and was told I called an incorrect number. I emailed NCE to ask if they could contact the plumbing company. I also specifically told them that the pump is exposed and I can’t use any water. They told me to look at the pump so I can let them know who the manufacturer is. So, all this time, they had no idea who the manufacturer even was? I sent a picture of the plate on the pump with all of the information she needed (company name, model #, serial #). I also sent a picture of the exposed pump. (more email exchanges – a couple I had to follow-up with to get a status because I didn’t hear back) On Wednesday, they emailed me stating, “ The owner of the company is out of the office till Monday. When he returns he will meet with a plumber and see what he says.” This was my reply: I am sure the owner realizes that I am unable to use any water (shower, restroom, laundry, dishes, etc). His expectation that I wait almost a week just for him to speak to a plumber is unreasonable. I am trying to be as proactive and helpful on my part, but I cannot do that without getting the answers I need. I got no response to this email and had to follow-up the next morning for a status. The owner suggested I pay out of pocket for a new pump and labor (I am responsible for labor, which is fine). It is now Saturday and my level of frustration is growing. I have been out of my home for almost a week with no resolution in sight. Had NCE given me the correct information for who to contact at Liberty, this might have all been taken care of by now. I really believe they should have contacted Liberty themselves to handle this, but that’s just another instance of their poor (and uncaring) customer service skills. Also, for them to give me incorrect warranty information (more than once) is unacceptable. How can you guarantee warranties and not honor them? I have a document from NCE saying the pump is covered for 10 years. They told me over the phone that it’s covered for one year – until I sent them the documentation they sent me. When I contacted Liberty, they advised me that it’s covered for 3 years and is still under warranty. Had I listened to what I was originally told by NCE about it being covered for one year, I would have paid out of pocket for the pump that I am not responsible for.
Kari Winter: I got a couple of quotes for windows, and Carolina Exteriors was the lowest, and took the least amount of time and work on my part. That was only the beginning of a very good experience. The guys doing the work were polite, friendly, and understood that this was a big deal for us. They managed to put in 16 new windows in under 3 hours, and the windows look great and are doing a great job of keeping us warmer. I imagine in the summer the house will stay much cooler. I'm very happy with the work done by Carolina Exteriors. They were helpful, friendly and provided quality work.
J R: Horrible Experience!August 2018 Job. Still trying to get it finished November 2018. Impossible to get job finished (Countless hours invested).1. Dealt with Jim (project manager - no longer with company) Supplies at house (as stated). No workers show up. I call him he said can't start for a few days.Jim said final payment due after punch list complete (still not done, but I gave final payment bad choice by me).2. Jason (beware)NCE moved my HVAC unit while working (accident). I asked to have independent person come check it. Told Jason I would pay after inspection 1 week (which I did). Jason called/texted multiple times that week to tell me to pay after agreeing to 1 week for HVAC inspection.3. Jason #2 I called NCE about punch list again. They sent out Leo to take pictures never completed work or returned call.4. Jason #3 I called the company again and asked to speak to owner...got a return call from Jason. Said we will fix roof problems on a Wednesday (10/31/18) and siding on that Thursday (11/1/18). Roofer came. No Siding still. I called Jason again when the siding no showed (11/1/18). He said I'll call your right back with an answer and never called.Pictures below of how they left my house. Also still waiting on places they didn't finish work. Also I had to clean up a complete mess gutters, yard, etc.*** I will edit this review if North Carolina Exteriors comes out and finishes the work and fixes damage.*** Looking into legal action to get job finished by another company.EDIT: On 11/2/18 NCE came out to my house and finished the punch list and addressed my concerns. Jason contacted me and made sure it was done to my satisfaction.
Diana Ramirez: Paid $7000 for wrapping on windows as well as some replacement windows and two doors. The worst experience of my life!! The list is so long, I’ll try to be short with it. Guy hired to do the wrapping was great the first three days, but for some reason, left in the middle of the job which delayed completion of my project. They sent two other guys to finish. They ordered the wrong door, had to wait for replacement, they ordered wrong screen door and I decided to keep it so not to further delay project. They broke my key pad lock while installing the back door, left a huge mess of left over materials in my driveway, the guys sealed shut (yes sealed shut!) my windows with caulk. One worker had to come back and slice throw caulk with blade so I can open them. Owner came back and promised to cleanup, refund me $700 which I never received. They came back to cleanup and fix my issues with the exception of the keypad lock. Two years later, we had a downpour and the large window they installed had water rushing (yes rushing) through it. I called someone, they came out said they fixed the problem. A few weeks ago the rainfall made its way back in through the same window (just a leak) They sent someone over almost three weeks ago. After speaking with several people, I still have not heard back and they never fixed the leak. I am reporting them to the bbb and will seek out private inspection and possible legal counseling to see if there was any water damage done to my home. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS.
Dennis Bland: I was hired as a roof salesman and brought knowledge with the insurance side. I'm going to try and keep this as proffessional as possible but I still am very upset with the way things went. Jason Brown lied to me over and over. Within the first 5 weeks the way I was to be payed changed 3 times. I would literally sit in his office while he came up with an evil stare and in a bunch of words told me I was not getting payed. I brought them $55,000 in work in a month and they screwed me out of my commission on 2 separate jobs and payed me wrong on all the other ones. The production side went wrong on 2 of the 3 jobs . A 1 day roof job turned into a 4 day job and so he took it out of my pay. WOW not only that but as I went to pick up my pay check. He tells me instead of the $340.00 he owes me he is going to pay me 60$ ..(no justification as to what the reason was) he goes and gets the total that I've been payed (on all jobs ) and how much he collected. I'm payed commission ...why am I getting screwed because the subs didn't do the job right? I've seen 2 out of three jobs go horribly wrong and obviously I'm pretty upset that he didn't pay me or sign an agreement as to how I was to be payed upon being hired. Both Jason Brown and Jason Johnson fully agreed to how I would be payed and out of 4 jobs only 1 was payed how and when we agreed. Jason has no problem looking someone in the eyes and telling them they will not be payed because of his mistakes. Disgusted. I would never do business with this company. There is alot to think about when a man sits and bullies his employees out of their livleyhood. It's almost 3 in the morning and I'm so disgusted I can't sleep so I figured I should at least keep others from making the same mistake I did.
Lindsay White: My experience with this company started off well — they responded to my online inquiry same day, scheduled a consultation promptly, and my salesperson, Jeff, arrived on time and was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable and honest. I was interested in a variety of services from skylights to gutter guards to siding to deck repair, and I never felt pushed into any of their services. Also, they were willing to do partial siding work, which I know some companies will not do. A couple of their quotes seemed high, but I was not sure what to expect, and as the reviews were so good, I was okay with paying a premium. I ended up hiring them for partial siding and skylight replacement. Jeff told me approximately when they would be able to begin my project (about eight weeks from the date of my consultation), and I received a call to schedule my project start almost exactly in that timeframe and was told work would begin that week and take approximately three days. That is when my experience went downhill. There was almost constant miscommunication between the project manager with the company and the subcontractor about when I could expect work to be done and when access to the inside of the house would be needed, in addition to the materials needed (i.e. the company ordered incorrect skylights for the opening, and the subcontractor had to inform me, saving me from unknowingly having improper skylights installed that could leak). The subcontractor almost never arrived when the project manager said he would, which was a huge inconvenience when it came to me scheduling time away from work to be at the house to let the subcontractor in. At one point, the project manager contacted me to say the project was finished, and I arrived home days later to find that nothing had even progressed since I left. This sequence repeated several times over the course of about three weeks for the project that was scheduled to take three days, and the project manager was dismissive and unapologetic about the miscommunications and my wasted time and offered no solutions or explanations until I finally expressed my frustration. When the project was finally finished and I examined the work, the siding and painting was sloppy in places, which the subcontractor admitted, and although he worked to fix it that day, it still does not look as polished as the rest of my siding. Then, the leftover materials were not picked up until a few weeks after they were supposed to be after two follow-ups on my part. Overall, I was appreciative of the subcontractor’s honesty when he disagreed with the company’s approach, but I wish he had been more timely and his crew had done better quality work, and I wish the company had more oversight over the project, so they could accurately convey the status to me and ensure they were ordering the correct materials. I also wish the company would have been more receptive to my complaints about their failures and miscommunications rather than ignoring them. I do appreciate Jeff’s handling of my concerns when I bypassed the project manager and spoke to him directly. Sometimes all it takes to salvage a situation is an apology and showing an effort to make things right.

Ours is a large house (5,000 sq. ft) and we had 20+ windows replaced along with 8 doors (4 hinged and 4 fixed). Several of the windows were HUGE (almost 2-story) with half moons. Kevin Barry: Just had 20 windows and two patio doors replaced, frames and all. It was a one-week job for a crew of four. They worked very efficiently but with great workmanship and attention to detail, and they took great care to clean everything up at the end of each day. Everything looks really nice. The windows are OKNA and they are terrific. The price was very reasonable. I recommend WD&M without hesitation. Some of my neighbors have used them as well and were also very satisfied.
Tommy Odom: I can't recommend these guys enough. They just replaced two large three panel patio doors at my house that had rotted. Since the doors weren't a standard size and I didn't want to pay for a fully custom crafted door we ended up going with a standard sized sliding glass door replacement. Unfortunately, the sliding glass doors were quite a bit smaller (though more window area!) in width but also smaller depth so they had to do quite a bit of work to get everything to line back up with the original door positioning to avoid having to redo drywall and base boards and to cover the gap between the doors and the flooring. The crew talked me through my options and listened to my concerns about the options and I think they came up with a solution that looks very natural and looks like the other doors and windows. They are definitely going to be the only company I use in the future for windows and doors.Service:General door installation

Greg Morris: I called Pioneer Exteriors to install some french doors after having a bad experience with a handyman service. My door frame is custom, and the handyman service kept ordering the wrong size. Pioneer came out and made sure it was measured properly so it would fit. It looks absolutely wonderful. I intend to call them if I every need any exterior work done in the future.
Kelly Peterson: I have a storm door that was put on my house back in the 50’s by Pioneer and it still seals perfectly. My front storm door was replaced in the late 90’s and needs to be replaced. Guess who will be replacing it. Pioneer is the only company I will use from now on.

They then built stairs for my deck, replaced all the spindles on the deck, and replaced the smaller deck supports with larger ones and added an additional support.They were always on time and if they were running late, they would call. They were very polite, picked up all tools and supplies everyday, and did a fantastic job. I would definitely hire them again.

I just had the pleasure of working with them to repair siding, a walk-through garage door, and replace all my shutters from hail damage. They were prompt in coming to my house for a quote. The owner, Mr. Pittman, is second-to-none in professionalism and kindness, and he was very clear and explained the answer to each of my questions so I understood the whole process. I spoke with the office manager, Mike, on multiple occasions for scheduling, payments, etc., and he is extremely helpful and friendly. The gentlemen who completed the repairs on my house were extremely friendly and careful in their work. They searched my yard and driveway to be sure nothing could damage my car tires or lawn mower from remaining pieces that could have fallen during their work. I also received a personal thank you note from the owner thanking me for using their business. As a busy owner, I really appreciate the time taken out of his say to thank me for my business. Martin Koev: I am extremely disappointed with the company. They gave me an over the phone quote for $106 per window. When the owner showed up he stated it would be $136 per window. I explained to him the quote they gave me over the phone. He stated that he was the owner of the company and that he didn’t care what they told me over the phone. I asked him how much of the cost came from labor and how much came from the materials needed. He rudely responded when you go to McDonald’s do you ask them how much the ingredients cost and how much of the cost was labor.
Lou Pascucci: Very impressed! My wife and I wanted to put on storm windows for our new daughter's room. We looked around for a good price, but also someone that would guarantee installation before our due date. We ended up getting a recommendation from a neighbor to use Pioneer and we couldn't be happier. They were here to measure the next day. Very friendly and personable. Then ordered my windows and installed them super quickly. They walked me through how to use them and even called to see if they were still working out for me. I just got a hand signed card in the mail thanking me for my business. Not many businesses still operate with this type of personal customer service, but when you find one you might as well keep using them. Next time you need storm windows make sure you use Pioneer. Give them your money and help keep them in businesses, instead of supporting larger companies that don't go the extra mile and are just about the bottom line.

WK Chan: I surveyed ten contractors and after over twelve lengthy email exchanges with Ed, I finally chose NC Siding and Windows. Ed gave very competitive quotes for both whole-house Hardie and vinyl siding replacements. We talked about many different options, Ed always laid out the works required for the options, their pros and cons and costs to help me make my decision. The friendly siding replacement crew- Jack, Greg and Lougan- did a wonderful job. I am a perfectionist, details like aligning all siding pieces horizontally from wall to wall were some of my concerns before and during the work- I had seen many houses with mismatched siding alignment. Amanda Newsom: I can’t say enough good things about this company. We were recently in the process of trying to replace 27 windows and 4 doors in our home and had received several quotes that were well above our price range, but also well above what we thought was reasonable. After almost giving up on the project, we were given a referral to go talk to window works. We haven’t blinked at that decision. They were completely reasonable (not cheap, but fair) and we were able to get complete replacements with the top of the line windows for nearly the same price as the vinyl inserts from other companies. Their staff was very courteous of our cats, respectful of our home and even helped walk us through many of our decisions as we weren’t familiar with windows before this process. I highly recommended using Window Works for any of your window and/or door needs.

I went there needing 38 windows for a house I bought that I was going install myself with my dad. Justin went over all the options they offered (they have a showroom with plenty of windows and doors) and was able to explain the pros and cons of different types of windows and options; he wasn't interested in selling me something I didn't need. Full frame replacement involves a lot of work. In addition to the windows, we also had a 4-panel door installed to replace a set of windows, and a window installed to replace a door, which entailed additional carpentry and finish work. I decided on Anderson Windows due to the look of the particular window I wanted and the excellent reputation of the brand. Anthony Scalabrino: I am one of the most particular and meticulous persons. My goal was to find the best value and high quality window to replace my deteriorating wood windows. I landed on the Andersen 400 Woodwright (wood painted interior and composite exterior). I was on deployment and my wife used FaceTime so we could talk to Jeff together. Jeff answered all of my questions in depth and gave me many alternative questions. He didn't try to sell me on anything but instead told me what the options were for what my desires/wants were. Window Works recommends a full frame replacement at a value price which is the ONLY way to go because the frame will rot before your window needs replacing. The crew was local, professional, showed up on time, and cleaned up after themselves. The best part was that they took the time to demo the product and show me things that needed replacing/repairs before I had a chance to find anything myself (as I said I am very particular). Jeff wouldn't let me pay the complete invoice until the "damaged" sashes were back in stock and installed (minor dings or scratches on the interior wood that I didn't notice at first). Replacements came quickly and were installed timely. I did a TON of research before landing on a window and a company. Save your time please, go talk to Window Works!
