My Girl Friday | Household Staffing: what do users think?
Terri: By far the BEST agency I’ve ever worked with. They are super personable and make you feel as if you’re part of the family. They got to know me and what I love about being a nanny, then placed me with a super sweet family, now my nanny baby is my tiny best friend! Everyone at the agency made sure to reach out at a bunch of different times when I started working with this family. They do weekly and monthly check-ins and I’ve never had an agency do that before. They really care about their nannies as individual people which can be hard to find in an agency. Overall, they are the best agency to sign on with. Thank you MGF for making me feel so loved and helping to blossom my nanny career.
A Jabroni: Whether you are a nanny or a family, looking for a nanny, whatever you do, do not hire or get in touch with this company! They are money hungry, and do not care about you or your family. They will choose whatever side benefits them the most in the long run $$$. They do a background check on their employees, but not the families that hire the employees putting them in unsafe situations. You are replaceable don’t forget that.
Cody Haskell: We used MGF for our first night out as new parents and we’ve been loyal ever since. My wife was really nervous leaving our firstborn for the first time and also prefers things be done a specific way. It was also a close friend’s birthday that we hadn’t seen in a long time and we really wanted to make it to their event. To make matters a little more complicated, we were also out of town. Austin, Danielle, and their crew really pulled through for us. They researched multiple candidates for us so we had a choice of more than one person to watch our 6 month old, and both MGF and the nanny were super responsive and on point when meeting with us to answer questions and field concerns. I really couldn’t recommend them more. We now utilize the agency for part time needs and the nannies we’ve been introduced to are really special. Our children love them. This agency makes parenthood a little easier and let’s be honest, this isn’t an easy chapter of our lives. Raising kids is hard work and it’s easy to get bogged down in the day to day and forget to ask for occasional reprieve and help.
Christelle Johnson: My Girl Friday is a phenomenal agency and I had a great experience working with them! As a Family Assistant/Nanny, I truly felt heard in my search for a family and appreciate that they never pressured me into a position that wasn’t the right fit for me. Danielle was an absolute pleasure to work with and is just a genuinely kind person! This is definitely an agency that you want to work with as a Family Assistant/Nanny in the Triangle area and beyond!
Stacy Lowe: I applied for a few families that needed assistance ASAP and I had an interview with one of the ladies. Due to me only having broken up nanny experience that equals to 8yrs and not 3yrs of experience nanning they decided to pass on me. I love helping families that need a little boost and I'm great with kids Just ask my bonus son that's 5! How am I supposed to be a good sitter if no one is willing to give Me a chance. I want to have more experience under me but that's not how my life worked unfortunately. I had to go into retail to make a living and I did that for ten years. I'm ready for a new chapter but I guess it's not ment to be. My mom was the Nanny and I learned everything from her and I helped with over 10 children in a 15yr span and infants through the years. I was better then her and it Irritates me that companies can pick and choose and not the family!
Sophia Vanek: This year I decided to go through My Girl Friday to pursue a nanny position. This agency is amazing. The staff are extremely caring and always take into consideration your needs and wants. The entire process was an ease and any time I had a question, someone was there to answer it. I was paired with a family and it has been one month since I started. I am extremely happy with my job and am very grateful for everything My Girl Friday did to help me along the way.
Amanda S: I have been in this industry for over ten years and I have worked with countless agencies that just place you to make their money and then they are out of the picture. My Girl Friday stands out from the rest and they truly do care about placing you with the right fit. They took the time to listen to my needs and understand my difficult past experiences with other agencies and were sensitive to these experiences as we navigated the interviewing process. I told them that I only wanted to work with people who I could be with long term so I wanted the perfect match. I was in no hurry. In a short time, I had several amazing prospective families ready to meet me. I interviewed with several and found “the one” for me. Due to Covid, it’s not as easy as it once was to just meet up with a family and I feel like they take precautions in maintaining the safety of all parties. The difference between using My Girl Friday and Care.com is you know exactly what you are getting into and they have prescreened families before even working with them. The guess work is taken out, you always feel safe and that to me is worth the wait. Austin and Danielle have truly given me a job that I could have only dreamed of. This agency has some seriously wonderful clients. I am forever grateful to them and I highly recommend working with them if given the chance!
Bridgette Abel: I have been in the nanny industry for roughly 5-6 years. I have always used Care.com but was very intrigued when I saw this company. I applied and created my profile for families to see within two weeks. I found this process to be fairly easy; however, when it came to finding a family, it felt impossible. I worked with a lady from this company who would constantly inform me of families she thought I would be a perfect fit for. As a employee, you do not see your profile that was created, nor do you communicate with families right away. For weeks, I was told my profile was being sent out to numerous families. I sat around waiting for the next step; however, I was never informed if a family did not want to hire me, or if a family did want to hire me. I would have to message the lady from the company, who would inform me to just send her more families I was interested in. I finally was over it, as it was taking weeks with awful communication, and applied to families on Care.com. Within a week of being on Care.com, I found the perfect family and started right away. Here’s the main difference with this company and Care.com. This company benefits families more than the nannies who work for it. Families are able to chose who they want and ultimately make the final decision of communicating with a potential nanny. You, as an employee, wait around and hear absolutely nothing. Care.com benefits the family as well as the nanny. On Care.com, you apply directly to a family and if they are interested, they will contact you. You are able to communicate directly with the family rather then communicate through a middle person. For example, families from the company would have questions and I was not able to answer them directly, nor gage out how they felt about my answer. I would have to message the middle person who would relay my answer. On Care.com, if a family has a question, they can ask you directly. One thing that upset me the most with this company was their response to me deciding to leave. They did not show a lot of interest in me. When I communicated with them that I was leaving as the process was not going anywhere, they decided to then tell me that they were talking about me that morning about how great I would be for a family, etc. I felt like this was a way for them to try and keep me by telling me what they thought I wanted to hear. I honestly urge you to not go with this company. If you are looking to become a nanny for a family, try Care.com, premium access. Trust me, you’ll find a family within a week or two. The same amount of time it would take you to make a profile with this company.
Migdalia Pagan: This agency has had very poor communication with me and this seems to be an ongoing issue from the other reviews i’ve read .I discovered the agency My Girl Friday very shortly after the birth of my son. i discovered that they offered “tag-along positions” where I could bring my child with me . The agency quickly set me up to interview with a family to meet via zoom . I should have known from the start communicating wasn’t their strong suit when I had to contact them multiple times to confirm and get details for the zoom meeting I was told was scheduled but never got a link or phone number to access the meeting . The time and days kept changing . I figured no big deal things happen. I finally was able to meet the family via zoom and in person, they were great and they seemed to be very interested, particularly in me bringing my child whom was very close in age to their little one . About a month went by and I heard ABSOLUTELY nothing from the agency despite inquiring of the position of which i interviewed. I absolutely feel as though I should be kept in the loop about a position where the family was interested in potentially hiring me . It absolutely isn’t a big deal if the family chose another applicant , but I needed to know so that i could move forward in the process of interviewing with other families and finding a job . Bottom Line i feel that this agency only looks out for themselves and the families that hire them and could care less about nannies or potential nannies. I have been a nanny for over a decade, with multiple long term positions that have given me GREAT REVIEWS and have never dealt with such an unprofessional agency. Them knowing I have a small infant to care for and them playing with people's livelihoods is messed up. So, yes I am upset and Very disappointed in My Girl Friday because they not only left me without a job, but they didn't care about me or my newborn son enough to give me a heads up about the family potentially choosing someone else.-Migdalia (Mindy) Pagan
Laura Anderson Kirby: We are thrilled with our My Girl Friday experience. We were so nervous about finding a nanny who was a good fit for our family, especially during the Covid pandemic. We have a young infant and a 3yo and wanted to make sure we could find someone we could trust to take Covid precautions seriously. MGF helped us quickly find the perfect fit and we couldn't be happier. It is a joy to see how happy my baby and my 3 year old are with the nanny. My 3yo comes home from preschool and runs up to the playroom to play with our nanny, saying "have a good work, Mom!" He never bothers me while I'm working from home because he has so much fun with her. We are truly grateful and can finally have peace of mind that our kids are getting excellent and safe care.
Emily Henson: I started working with My Girl Friday (MGF) this past year, and they have been SO wonderful! They are always so friendly and open to my needs as a nanny. One thing that especially stood out to me about MGF is their excellence in communication. They were always reaching out to connect me to new opportunities even after the “typical” work hours of 8 to 5! They always check in to see how I’m doing and listen to any of my questions or concerns. I have always felt very supported by them. I recently went through a transition of employment and I was worried I might have to deal with a lapse in coverage. I am so glad to say that MGF did not let me slip through the cracks! They found me another opportunity in no time, and thanks to them I will not have to go a day without employment! It really helped alleviate the stress of transitioning between employers, and I found their dedication to excellence especially helpful during this time. If you’re a nanny in need of a family or vice versa, I could not recommend this company to you enough! MGF is such a wonderful resource for our communities to have, and I would recommend them to anyone in a heart beat.
Christy Zigler: I reached out to My Girl Friday after a recommendation from a coworker. We were in dire straights as our daycare had closed due to COVID and my husband and I had been juggling two full time jobs and two VERY busy toddlers for months. My Girl Friday was the best value I could have gotten. They held our hands through the entire process, were always available to answer any questions we had (this was our first time ever working with a nanny). Danielle and Austin made it soooo easy and foolproof - even in this incredibly stressful time. Additionally, we ended up having to interview again after our first hire, and they supported us and were ready with additional candidates immediately. Our current childcare provider is an exceptional fit - and would never have found her if it wasn't for this amazing company (plus they referred us to a payroll company so I don't even have to figure that out!). This stressed out parent is so grateful for their help - if you are on the fence - they are worth every penny!!!
Nadia Cecilia: I started with My Girl Friday in July of 2020 and had a really wonderful experience. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly helpful and had all my questions answered. I was doing interviews within a few days and I was a lucky one who met my family day one. I still met with other families to ensure I had all the options that were available to me. The first family I met loved me as well and we have been working together ever since. I cant imagine anything better then spending my days with them. I am grateful to My Girl Friday for the chance to meet these incredible people!
George Dignan: Positive:Professionalism,ReliabilityVery quickly ascertained our needs and had interviews set up in no time. All quality applicants. Staff is always ready to help. Very happy with our nanny! Great investment in the growth of our family.
cameron ward: Working with My Girl Friday was a great experience. The process was super fast—I was placed with a fantastic family within a week. They are also excellent with communication, and this made the experience all the better.
Maddie Hubbard: Positive:Professionalism,QualityThey made it so easy to find a family I clicked with! Danielle really helped narrow down the list for me and was able to match me with a wonderful family. They were very professional and helpful with setting up meetings and interviews, and being the go between for us.
Katie Simons Pahner: Beyond happy with our experience with My Girl Friday! From our first few calls with Austin to Danielle’s ongoing support throughout the interview and placement process, we were so impressed by how attuned they were to our family’s needs and how responsive they were to our feedback and questions every step of the way. They go to extraordinary levels - working around the clock for their families and nannies - to make sure it’s a wonderful mutual fit. I’m not kidding about around the clock - literally, weekends, evenings etc. Unparalleled customer service. For us, Danielle, the placement director, took the extra time to truly listen and help guide us in placing us with an incredible nanny! This was no small task especially during this time of COVID when many families like ours are looking for that “unicorn” who is not only an amazing fit for your family but is on the same page as you relative to personal COVID considerations/precautions. I highly, highly recommend!
Liz Ladd: I have had the absolute best experience with MyGirlFriday. I have 15+ years of experience as a recruiter and recently decided to go part-time, wanting to leave the corporate world. With a past position as a nanny, I turned to MyGirlFriday for assistance with my job search. My recruiter, Danielle was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. She took her time getting to know me, making sure I was a good fit for the potential families before submitting my resume. After my offer (with an amazing family), she explained everything in great detail, answering all of my questions. MyGirlFriday cares about the people they work with and their futures. Great job! I highly recommend them to families and nannies looking for a top quality, professional agency.
Alison Powell: Critical:Quality,Reliability,ValueDo your homework to make sure you’re actually getting why you pay for.
Newport Family: As a busy family with two working parents, two kiddos and one fur baby, our life often felt like a never ending sprint. When I read about the idea of a Family Assistant on the My Girl Friday website, a lightbulb went off! That is exactly what we need! From the moment I reached out, Danielle and the entire team were incredible. Danielle REALLY listened to every member of our family and got to work to find the perfect person to help. We only had to interview one candidate to know she was “the one” to jump in to our crazy life. Our Family Assistant takes care of everything from groceries to gutter cleaning, and is already part of the family. We don’t know how we ever survived without her.My husband and I are both hiring managers at work, and the investment to outsource to My Girl Friday was worth every penny. If you need help at home, don’t hesitate - these amazing professionals will get the job done!
Lecia Duncan: Critical:Professionalism,QualityVery unprofessional agency. Do not let these reviews fool you. Lack of communication is absolutely sickening as well.
