City Ballet Raleigh: what do users think?
Cecelia Schneider: My kids practically lived at City Ballet for years. My daughter started dancing here at 3 and stayed all the way through high school graduation. City Ballet instilled such a love of ballet that both my kids continued to dance after high school. The annual Nutcracker production gave them the opportunity to feel like they were part of a professional show. It even inspired my daughter to pursue a career in the performing arts.
Avis HatcherPuzzo: Dance teachers are brilliant! Students LOVE them, best in the state, they say!
Willie Hinton: I've been on faculty at City Ballet for years. The talent I've seen nurtured by the incredible staff is a true testiment of the love and dedication they/ we have for our students.
Brittany Mora: This studio is unlike any other studio in Raleigh. Every student is valued and the owner has a true desire to share the best technical practices with all students. Staff are highly qualified and the focus is on dance scholarship and instruction for all rather than competition.
Emily Simpson Sabol: After initially finding this ballet school for my daughter I enrolled myself in their Adult Ballet class in the summer of '21, and I have loved every minute of it. The teachers have all been wonderful, supportive and encouraging, but I can't say enough about how awesome of a teacher Lynne is. She brings a level of joy to each class, not just for ballet but for music and body awareness. Her classes are fun and challenging in the best way. If you're an adult who has been thinking of putting on that leotard again or even if you've never danced before, consider giving this class a try!
gloria hinton: Great place
Meredith Cash: I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with City Ballet so far. Our daughter takes a ballet class in the preschool dance program. The teachers are amazing with her and the rest of the children. I love that there is a perfect balance of technique and fun for her age. I am excited to see our daughter grow into a skilled dancer here.
Diana Hogg: My daughter switched to City Ballet in August 2019 and it has been a wonderful experience for her. Interaction with teachers and fellow students was more than we could have hoped for. The teachers give attention to every student, with a lot of energy and encouragement. Their commitment to meeting each dancer where they are, and giving them the tools to grow, has been a breath of fresh air. During the COVID-19 pandemic, City Ballet went above and beyond to stay in contact with families and offer a large selection of classes. Having the ability to dance, even virtually from home, was so important to my daughter's mental health during that time. We cannot thank City Ballet teachers and staff enough for the confidence and joy they have inspired in our girl!
Jane Okafor: The place is so wonderful my daughter enjoys and they have great service.
Kim Tosch: Great food and service!
Jammer Joez: Daughter loved her time here!
Kelly Ojeda: This is our 10th year at City Ballet and we have been pleased with every aspect of the studio. The instruction is exceptional, the quality of the performances is top-notch (from costume design to professional choreography), and just the overall organization is well run. We appreciate all the time, commitment, and hard work that is dedicated to make each dancer their best!
Lisa Harris: My 10-year-old has taken ballet at City Ballet for nearly two years. She adores her instructor and was welcomed by the girls in her class. She attends class two times per week, and each time, looks forward to hearing the music and dancing. I recommend City Ballet, because it provides young people a chance to exercise, learn to dance in a professional and supportive environment, build their confidence, learn to appreciate the arts, and have fun.

Tutu School Raleigh: what do users think?
Stuart Gordon: Tutu school has been a reliable, safe, and fun place for our daughter to explore ballet. We’ve participated at both the Cary and Raleigh locations and had great experiences. The recitals have been big for her confidence by branching out to step on stage and showcase what she’s learned
Lauren Pierce: We can’t say enough good things about Tutu School! My daughter started twirling there at 2.5 and still loves it at 4. The teachers do such a good job of making all of the dancers feel so special — it is the sweetest culture! We look forward to ballet each week!

Alina W: My three year old daughter has been going to Tutu School Raleigh for almost a year now and we absolutely LOVE it! It’s a wonderful place for children to move their bodies, use their imaginations, and interact with other children their age. The teachers use a curriculum that includes ballet stories that are read during each class. My daughter is always excited to put her tutu on and go to ballet each week. She also loves practicing what she’s learned in class at home. I’ve told many friends about Tutu School and they’ve enrolled their children too! Thank you for the magic Tutu School!
Jacquelin Ayala: Not only does my Daughter love going to Tutu School, the whole family does too. She looks forward to going to Ballet every week, to see her friends and most important dance. I especially love how personal the experience is, the teacher always knows the girls names and talks to them making each dancer feel special. I love the memories we are gaining each week and can’t wait to see how she will progress in her dance journey.

Lindsey Weaver: Very inviting studio and always clean. My daughter loves ballet at tutu school and all the teachers. Last year we had a ballet birthday party at the studio which was absolutely beautiful. It was stress free, all we had to do was show up. Being a small business owner I believe in supporting other local businesses.
Tina & Christian: Our daughter loves coming to miss Kimberlyn’s class on Sundays! It’s so much fun seeing how much joy she gets from learning cool things she is capable of doing with her body. Story time and coloring time are excellent too and they do a great job making ballet fun for our little kiddos! We love seeing how much more confident she’s become as well. Thank you for the magic, Tutu School!
Erin Bruns: We have had the most wonderful experience at the Tutu School! The classes and instruction are engaging, age appropriate, and so fun!

Lauren Vukina: Tutu school has been such a fun activity for my daughter and me. We are in the 24M-3 yr old class on Monday evenings. Ms Molly is absolutely amazing with the girls, keeps them on track and we all have fun together. It’s a great way for your child to learn about listening and following directions. We look forward to class each week!!
Junior Tavarez: My Daughter loves this place the teachers are really good.
Polly Rodriguez: So fun for little ballerinas who are into sparkles, rainbows and grande jettees. Creative and patient teacher. Masks for the dancers.
Sara Prado: My 3 year old daughter started at the Tutu school about 4-5 months ago and has grown so much over that time! She has learned to be around other little kids, take turns, listen to the teacher and basic principles of classroom behavior.I love the special tools they use to keep the kids attention (magic wants, wings, etc) because it keeps the class fun and exciting. I would highly recommend this class not just for the ballet instruction but also for your child's growth :)
Debra Santiago: My 2 year old has been coming to Tutu school for about 2 months now. At first, she was not in tune with the steps and kind of all over the place but over time, she’s learned to be more intentional with her movements. She’s doing so good now, I’m glad I decided to keep taking her. It’s developed a lot of her fine motor skills too. We’re very pleased!
Myshon Singleton: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Mercedes Borjas Reyna: What a Wonderful school. WE LOVE TUTU SCHOOL. My daughter Anxiously await every week for her ballet class.( she loves her teacher) honestly she’s Amazing. They are Covid-Cautious, and a spotless place.I love that there’s small class sizes, so they really focus on each kid. I highly recommend this school.

The Raleigh School of Ballet: what do users think?
Lisa Mooney: There simply are not enough stars to represent how amazing The Raleigh School of Ballet is! The adult program is amazing with a focus on classical ballet techniques in a forgiving and positive environment. Ms Jonson has given me as a middle aged woman, a renewed passion for ballet! I’d never go anywhere else. ❤️
Anna Huang: This studio has so much history and a long standing expertise in teaching ballet to students of all levels. As an adult dancer coming back from having learned ballet back in my student days, I’ve tried literally every studio available and RSB is hands down the best. The teachers are serious about your learning, but they still adapt to your journey. Every faculty I knew has been kind, supportive, and knowledgeable.
Be Yourself: Critical:CommunicationI signed up my daughter up here and I saw nothing spectacular about their classes. My daughter was excited at first then lost interest due to their teaching. When I asked for a refund they gave me a song and dance and only gave me a 1/3 of my balance.
Lauren Bertrand: I've been attending adult classes since April. After not dancing for over 10 years, I am thankful to have found the Raleigh school of ballet adult classes. I love the strong emphasis on technique. They offer multiple adult classes at various levels. For adult classes it is a punch card type system. I have also been impressed with their covid precautions.
Jane Chen: Great adult class
Mamatha A.: My teenage daughter was having low back pain for a couple of years. In the fall of 2019, She started going to The Raleigh School of Ballet regularly and they patiently corrected her alignment. After three months, the pain went away! I had to see it to believe it. This school has advanced ballet classes with several students of similar age and ability per class. The school and its affiliate performance training company, Raleigh Dance Theatre are organized and conscious of time so that it is easier for parents. The classes and performances are elegant, tasteful and classical. The teachers are dedicated and give each student individual corrections, not just favored ones or those deemed pre-destined for advancement. The other students seem very happy at this school. I was impressed by the large audience they had for outreach performances for public school and girl scouts. Although they have rules so that students are successful and learn discipline, it is carefully reviewed at registration and they are kind and flexible about each individual’s needs after that.
Cortney Rees: I love the attention to details. I cant wait to see how much these classes improve my technique.💚
Tyler Case: i started taking adult beginner classes here 5 years ago, when i was 25. i have found the environment to be so encouraging for adult beginners. although i know i’m not that great at ballet, i never feel intimidated by the classes. i love taking ballet just for myself, and i can also tell how far i’ve come from my first intro class. the teachers i have learned from have been outstanding. i love that we’re getting serious, classical instruction with the more relaxed and realistic adult class objective of just learning and improving. some of my adult classmates even got the opportunity to be extras in carolina ballet performances!! i hope to keep dancing here for many years to come!
Cassidy Swanson: We love this school for the intentional training and care each dancer receives, and for the nurturing environment. RSB teachers provide solid technical and artistic training in ballet and modern.
Ann Vorus Parkhurst: I was surprised by the angry review written by the parent of a student. While no school can please everyone, the diatribe offered by this parent deserves a response. Over the years The Raleigh School of Ballet has developed one of the finest training programs anywhere; a program offering thoughtful training and care for each student and a program recognized by dance professionals across the country. Questioning the validity of this school's professionalism and its ability to nurture and train young dancers throws light not on a problem with the school, but rather on the personal problems of the parent writing the review.
Carrie O'Brien: I started at RSB at age 6 in the 1980s and went through the pre-professional program into the mid '90s. I have gone back to take adult classes in the past year after many years away and am glad that not much has changed. As a child and an adult, all of the teachers have focused heavily on technique and avoiding injury (for example, proper turnout from the hips instead of lower legs), which is especially important for a child who is still growing. I have met dancers from other schools who ruined their knees for LIFE from being trained to use incorrect turnout and other bad techniques from a young age. The pre-professional program and Raleigh Dance Theatre (RSB ballet company) is no joke - it's intense and tough, but it's the real thing. They regularly feed dancers into Carolina Ballet. The teachers lay down a strong technique foundation for young dancers to grow from and become beautiful and strong performers. The adult classes are far more laid back, friendly, and fun, but still structured enough to be safe and productive. Some adults are new to ballet, and sometimes we get Carolina Ballet professionals in class (and everyone in between!). It's a wonderful mix of people, and the school and teachers provide a great environment to dance and grow. I can't imagine going to a different school!
M P: Fantastic, top-notch training! Instructors are so caring and are dedicated to helping each dancer develop their technique to the best of their ability. Much love and respect for this studio!
Amy Greene: I started taking classes at the Raleigh School of Ballet when I was 15, after my family moved to NC from the north east. I had received very little ballet training up until that point, but I wanted to be a dancer. Three years later, thanks to the dedication and care of the observant, knowledgeable faculty, I was able to successfully audition for university dance programs. I've been dancing professionally since university, and when I trace my story back it's undeniable that RSB provided the foundation of my journey. Alongside the well balanced curriculum of their pre-professional program, the school also offers open classes for those interested in ballet, but not looking to pursue the art as a career. So, if you're serious about dance or just curious about movement, I recommend driving by to talk to the program directors. They are warm, generous women, whose qualification as dance educators is obvious, and they will answer any questions you might have about the training the school provides.
Leah Bailey: Having benefitted from this school both as a student and employee, Raleigh School of Ballet is a rare gem. Here, the approach to providing sound classical ballet technique is intelligent, organized, and creative. The continued professionalism of the directors and teachers has created an atmosphere of respect, which in turn teaches students the value of discipline and structure. There is also a huge emphasis on individualized attention; as students progress, they receive training that prevents injuries and ensures strength (especially for those excited young dancers eagerly awaiting pointe shoes!). As a student, I enjoyed classes at the Raleigh School of Ballet because every teacher pushes every student to be the best they can be, all while allowing room for artistry to grow. The school was wonderful to work for as well. It was clear that attention to detail was important from the start and that the environment cultivated in the studios began in the office. The organization to providing parents with the information they needed for anything from performance information to lost-and-found items was above reproach; the staff and directors recognize how important communication is and therefore are always working on the next schedule, uniform, performance, or summer intensive. It was so refreshing to be a part of such an established school!Beyond ballet technique, dancers at the Raleigh School of Ballet learn lasting lessons and life skills. Parents can rest assured that if they entrust their students to the directors and teachers at the Raleigh School of Ballet, they will definitely grow as dancers and people- of course, all while enjoying dance!
Alexis Shrager: My daughter had a very sad year... she was bullied by girls and lost majority of her skills and training she had when she came from another ballet company. She cannot even do a split anymore. She had 6 years of prior ballet, professional performances and tours... but at this school all we hear how great they are and everything else is not "professional"....School has very cold, "professional" , heartless instructors and the owner. They will not care for your child unless you constantly complain or "in their face" all the time...Sad I did not do my reasearch when I signed her up last year.
Michael Welke: A truly professional Ballet School.

Nan's School of Dance: what do users think?
Sunnynites: I am a dancer and I’ve been dancing there since the old studio I love the teachers they are so nice and not too hard on the dancers
Tim n Jaclyn Henderson: We LOVE Nan's Dance. Hilary and the teachers are all great role models and they are very organized in everything they do. It is a very friendly, confidence-building studio.
Lisa Schoolcraft: This place is amazing! The communication and organization is nothing short of incredible. Started pre pandemic and four years later going into our fifth my daughter grows. Thank you
Brenda Saha: Thank you to all the staff at Nan's dance academy for all you do, you all work so hard to make sure our dancers enjoy their classes and prepare them for their recitals. I am so happy we chose Nan's dance academy I wouldn't want my daughter to go anywhere else. Mrs. Hillary you are awesome and you go above and beyond for our girls thank you.
Krista King: Our daughters just finished their first year of ballet and we are so grateful for such a wonderful experience at Nans! They enjoy attending class each week, making new friends and building confidence. Ms. Hillary has been the best teacher we could ask for and look forward to returning for many years to come!
lynisa marks: Our granddaughters have been attending Nans School of Dance for many years now! They love their dance teachers and they love dancing! We love watching them grow from the basic dancing to more advance dancing. What a joy it is to attend their recitals: Nans School of Dance does a great job with their presentations and stage props too!
Elizabeth Leonard: I can’t say enough positive things about Nan's School of Dance and would without a doubt highly recommend to everyone. It was extremely important to us to find a dance studio that first teaches the love of dance before anything else. They offer a huge variety of class types, styles and skill levels to meet the needs of all families when the time is right. But we wanted it to be a positive experience first and foremost. This is exactly what Mrs. Hillary White and her lovely dance teachers exemplify. We have been so impressed with Hillary and have been so thrilled to have her as a dance teacher 2+ years in a row for our little one. It has been the best foundation we could ask for. I feel she teaches more than just dance; she teaches important skills like confidence, respect, care, routine, friendship, hard work and of course beautiful technique, strength, and dance skill. I don’t know how she manages to teach, direct and own the studio (plus many other hats she wears well!) but she does it with tremendous professionalism, organization, creative skill, talent and best of all, she provides a personal touch and a big genuine smile to each family at her studio. You can really feel the family owned and run environment here but also backed with decades of experience in the industry. We started with Mommy and Me class at age 2 and continued with PreDance for 3 yr and 4 yr old age for our child. We just completed our first successful recital tonight and it was so fun, entertaining, heartwarming, well organized … just a real honor and pleasure to be part of. They have thought of everything and delivered a fabulous experience for dancers and their families. We LOVE Nan’s and Hillary!! Thank you for an amazing experience!
Rebecca Armstrong: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy daughter has been at Nan's Dance since she was 2 years old. She is now 5 and loves her ballet and tap class at Nan's. I have seen so much progress but most importantly, her confidence shines! Mrs. Hillary, a teacher and the owner is FANTASTIC! She makes sure students are having fun while learning the art of dance.
Colleen McKeon: We absolutely LOVE Nan’s school of dance! We started mid year in 2020 and we’re welcomed with open arms. Miss Hilary and all the other dance instructors are professional, personable, fantastic teachers and make dance FUN for their classes. Miss Hilary does a fantastic job at communication and I always feel in the know on what’s happening and what’s coming up. My daughter absolutely loves it and she looks forward to it weekly. If you are looking for a fantastic dance studio for your dancer in the Raleigh area Nans is it! We have already referred two friends who absolutely love it as well!
Margot Tenenbaum: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,ValueIf you’re looking for mediocre dance lessons in a run down building then this is the place for you!! Want to relax while your child runs around aimlessly for an hour? Forget it, you will be segregated and forced to sit outside if you don’t wear a mask. We dropped out of this school after about a month. Not impressed.
Amy Vancura: My daughter has danced at Nan's School of Dance since she was 4 years old, she is now 12. We love everything about Nan's! The teachers are amazing...not only are they all talented dancers but they all love teaching dance. Ms. Hillary puts together the best recitals. She is extremely organized and prepares the students so well to perform. My daughter has grown so much as a dancer during her years at Nan's. I can't recommend Ms. Hillary and her team enough!!!
Jaymi Allen: We are in our 5th year of dance at Nan's and love it! My daughter has grown tremendously as a dancer. The communication from the owner is amazing and I am so thankful for that.
Rachel Crocker: Absolutely love Nan’s School of Dance! Fun, friendly environment, excellent teachers, incredible owner and close to home! Communication is excellent as well. My daughter is going into her 2nd year at Nan’s as a company dancer and has loved her experience. I had the pleasure of working there last season and Hillary was an amazing boss! Highly recommend as a place to work and for your children to dance.
H Davidson: My two girls have danced with this studio since my oldest was 4 years old and my youngest was turning 3. They are now 11 and turning 9. The both absolutely loves the classes offered and the teachers. The studio isn’t very “stuffy” if you know what I mean. Everyone is relaxed and just wants their kids to enjoy themselves. My oldest made the inaugural Company team last year and it made her year! The company classes are so well run. They won 1st place in their very first competition. My youngest is happy to be a recreational dancer and is ecstatic to be in the Acro Dance class this coming season. We’ll dance here until the girls no longer dance (most likely when they move away for college).
Lisa Harmon: We love our daughters dancing here! They are professional, fun and really good with communication!
Rylee Humphrey: I love this place the teachers are so nice and I've improved a lot since I've been there!
Philip Rothstein: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat atmosphere, awesome teachers. Family-friendly and very welcoming. So glad we choose Nan’s!
Trey Williams: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueOur 4-year-old daughter absolutely loves her dance classes at Nan's School of Dance! The staff has been very professional in their response to the COVID pandemic, and the protocols that they have put in place are consistently enforced. I feel like this is the best Raleigh dance studio for our daughter!
Chris Douglas: Hillary and her other teachers run a great dance studio in Raleigh. My 4 year old daughter is one of her students and she always looks forward to dance night. It's really comfortable atmosphere and even with the current environment (covid) she does her best to make sure that the kids are safe, learn something, and have fun.
Kristen Douglas: We LOVE Nans Dance. My daughter is 3 and is in the pre dance class. I did a lot of research on dance schools before selecting Nans and they have not disappointed. The instructors are AMAZING! They have so much patients with the little ones. Quite frankly I don’t know how they do it but you can tell that they just love what they do! The monthly price is very reasonable and kids as young as 3 get the opportunity to be in a recital. They are actually teaching ballet moves and not just running around which is great to see! If you’re looking for a great beginning place for your little one I highly recommend. We look forward to growing at Nans as our daughter increases in dance.
Michelle Mellow: Pre-Covid I would have given them a 4 star review. During COVID my rating is a one star so averaging this out. The 4 star rating is because my daughter has always been very happy dancing here and it would be five star but there hasn't been a level of instruction suitable for a more serious dancer, beyond weekly recreation. The one star rating during COVID is due to a few things. First, they do have a mask policy in place but don't really enforce it (they state they are following the state's mandate). I have on multiple occasions seen dancers let into the building without masks (older than 5 years old, for sure). They take their temperatures but do not enforce the mask policy if they aren't wearing one. Also, if you are signed up for a 30 minute class you will be lucky if your dancer gets about 15-20 minutes of actual instruction. Unfortunately they haven't buffered time to come in or leave with the new COVID precautions. For several weeks in a row the class before ours had a student without a parent waiting to pickup at dismissal. This meant that my daughter's teacher would eat into 5 minutes of their 30 minute class waiting outside with the student. Classes end about 5 minutes early too. I don't mind a little grace with COVID but there are just too many issues right now. Another concern during COVID (no fault of Nan's) is that there is a theater school a few doors down. The parking lot is super busy as is the sidewalk outside of the studio. The theater school has way more students in their classes I suspect than what is allowed for an indoor gathering right now and social distancing is really difficult if you are picking up or dropping off when the theater school is doing the same. The worst part, if you give notice of not returning, even during COVID they are still charging a one month tuition penalty. If I am expected to provide grace for things like classes starting late and ending early, they should extend some grace and not charge a cancellation penalty if notice is given.

Carolina Dance Center: what do users think?
David Evans: Great dance space with lots of fun classes for kids of all ages.
yuhh get into it: CDC is considered to be the most toxic studio in Raleigh by the dance community. Just about every dancer I've met has a CDC horror story. Some teachers here are wonderful, while others have literally gone out of their way to harass dancers they've decided aren't good enough. I don't mean nagging or just being constructive. I had a teacher here who talked about how terrible I was to OTHER dance classes. The kids are not much better. In general they are snobby, brats who mock anyone they decide is a bad dancer. The hierarchy was crazy, if you are a low level no one will speak to you. I advise everyone considering dancing here to look elsewhere!
King Danny wever (DJ The money): I love to dance
Jaime Adams: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueGreat teachers and classes!
Analise Stevenson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueI grew up dancing at CDC and couldn’t recommend it more! As I’ve gone on to dance through college and teach, I recognize how much of my training and experience I owe to them. The teachers are amazing and the environment is incredible. Highly recommed!
Christina G: My girls have danced at CDC for 9 years. We all love it. I appreciate the age appropriate music and costume choices along with the professional quality recitals that even Dad and big brother enjoy! The teachers are caring and truly love what they do!
K W: This is definitely not a real dance company. It’s more of a babysitting service with no direction or goals to make your child a dancer. No matter how much you try to give or communicate you get no response from teachers/owner and staff. At one point the front desk said “ the teachers/owners don’t answer emails they are only here to teach.”My daughter spent several years bored doing the same dance even after moving up. We moved to a new company this summer and she wants to live there she loves it so much. It’s amazing to see what a real dance school looks like after being a CDC for so long. Glad we left!
Nicole Kreiser: From cute details for tiny dancers to mentor opportunities for older students, the studio finds a way to meet each dancer where they are. Dancers will find rigor and training to ensure proper technique. Recreational dancers will find opportunities for fun and training to meet their schedules. And the owners and staff get to know their students and recommend training according to a dancer's needs.
Nichole Maxwell: My daughter loves coming to dance class every week. She’s been coming for a complete year and has never once said a negative thing. She loves the teachers.
Tracey Dragoon: We love CDC!! The price is great, the staff is amazing and kind! We love the Disney themed recitals at the end of the year and the creativity! We absolutely recommend CDC!
Clinger Kids: This is by far the best studio we have been to! My daughter has learned more in a month here then a year somewhere else and she LOVES IT! The teachers and staff are amazing and super creative! I could not imagine her dancing anywhere else!
Southern Sugar Bakery: We love CDC! It’s been amazing to partner with them over the past few years and we look forward to working with them in the years to come.
Alexis Payton: Carolina Dance Center's faculty as well as students welcomed me with open arms when I first switched to the studio. Although I was never a member of their company, I still got the push I needed to take my technique and artistry to the next level. Every teacher has the expectation that improvement is tangible - especially if the dancer persists and stays focused during class. Ultimately Carolina Dance Center has fostered an environment that a studio should feel like - home.
Marie Miranda: The kids in the foundation and the parents are snubs. They give more opportunities to advance, not by merit but just by been in the foundation. Kids that don't make the foundation tend to be left behind by the kids and some of the teachers. Sad as this wasn't at the beginning. We love the teachers and they are fantastic, but it's sad to see your child held back constantly.
Emma Lewis: Overly competitive. Produces bratty, drama- queen dancers that have attitude problems. The worst part is that the teachers see dancers bully each other, but do nothing. Requires way too much time and commitment to dance just for fun. They make you dance 4+ days a week for 3+ hours a day allowing for little flexibility or free time. If you aren't in company, you might as well be cut off from everything. Gives snobby dancers solos and character roles in the recitals which boosts their already huge egos. Made my child dread going to class each week as her peers treated her like an outcast. Favoritism is common in every class.
Beverly Daniels: Carolina Dance Studio produces some outstanding dancers !!!!! My first time seeing one of their dancers, Taylor Hnatek was at North Carolina's Young Woman of the Year Program (formerly NC Junior Miss) in Greensboro, NC. My jaws dropped to the floor as I watched her dance on pointe. I was SOLD at that point and knew I wanted my granddaughter to begin dance at this studio. They also have outstanding teachers well trained in their field of dance. I am from Kinston, NC and my girls took from a wonderful dance teacher, Mary Beth Dawson. Not all kids go to dance to seriously learn the art of dance. Some attend as a social activity and to have fun and that's okay. But if your child is exceptionally talented, this studio is the place to help them grow. I say this from experience as a dance mom who has been to multiple competitions seeing dancers from all across America and Canada compete. Carolina Dance Center students can hang with the best all across America. 3 3 Thank you Missy and all the teachers at Carolina Dance Center.
Andy Miller: Unnecessarily and bizarrely competitive - shunting non-star performers to the side/back without explanation. Recitals are painfully long. Do a great job with youngest kids, making it fun.
Melissa D: My daughter has been doing dance here for 2 years. The recitals are long but are readily nicely done. The center itself could use some upgrades.

Stage Door Dance: what do users think?
Stacy Wells: We love SDD! There are so many options for camps, classes, and workshops. Communication is always excellent. Questions are answered quickly. Everyone we've interacted with has shown a love for teaching dance to kids. This was our first recital season with SDD and we could not have been more impressed. The venue was lovely. Everything was easy and low stress. My parents who live at the beach got to watch on YouTube.Highly recommend, there's something for every dancer!
Jamie Pritchard: Our daughter had an amazing time at the dance camps over the summer. The teachers are great!
Langley Moretz: Our twin daughters have been dancing with Stage Door Dance since they were 2 years old. They’re almost 12 now. Other extracurriculars have come and gone in the past 10 years, but the one of the few constants in our lives is SDD. The benefits of being a part of SDD, thanks to owner, Chasta Hamilton, and the fantastic teachers, are far more than just dance instruction (which is truly great on its own). SDD also fosters responsibility, self confidence, philanthropy, authenticity and community in their dancers. What has meant the most to our girls is the opportunity to give back. Every year SDD chooses a worthy organization to support and spends the dance year holding multiple fundraisers for that organization. That they can combine doing something they love with doing something good in the world is a gift. It has been amazing to watch our girls grow, as dancers and as people. If you’ve never heard of SDD or Chasta, look her up. Miss Chasta and Miss Amy were our daughters’ first instructors 10 years ago and will always be special to us. We are so grateful for SDD and that our girls have Chasta as a role model.
LaShonda Alston: We absolutely love Stage Door Dance! I've seen my daughter grow so much as a dancer and watched her confidence grow. She has had the opportunity to try new styles! If you are looking to build a great foundation, have a wonderful dance family then Stage Door is the place to go! I would highly recommend Stage Door Dance to any parent looking for a great dance studio for their child! #BeMoreatStageDoor
Danielle Overcash: Stage Door Dance means SO much to our family! We started at SDD with a dance class a week, but took advantage of the preschool Perform, Learn, Play program and camps in 20-21 and SDD has truly become a ‘piece’ of our everyday life! Everyone associated with SDD is amazing and we feel so grateful for the things our daughter learns about dance (& life skills in general) at SDD!
sarah paro: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWe love being part of SDD! The teachers are great! They have a true community focus and positive atmosphere! Choreography, costumes and curriculum are all age appropriate and fun!
Wendy Harris: I have been taking my daughter to SDD for 3 years now! Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Chasta and all of their teachers are absolutely amazing. Your child will learn great dance technique as well as how to be a beautiful person on the inside. They deeply care for every child and it shows in how the children love them all. They are always very responsive to calls and emails! I look forward to seeing my daughter continue to grow at Stage Door Dance!
Jacob Turney: Such a fun and exciting place. My girlfriend was in a holiday performance here. The owner of the studio was so kind and the ensemble did a fantastic job. A great studio. Bravo.
allison dickens: What an amazing studio! Children learning dance from enthusiastic, professional teachers who have a true LOVE of dance and fostering a love of the art. The excitement and happiness that came from the child I nanny spoke volumes. Definitely a warm welcoming environment nestled in the middle of Raleigh, convenient for all 💗
Linda Garr: Love Stage Door Dance!! The teachers are wonderful. My daughter has learned so much there in the past 3 years. We love our dance family at Stage Door!

Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Raleigh: what do users think?
Shelby Wilt: We took dance lessons with Vladlen before our wedding and he was AMAZING!! We started as complete newbies but he made us feel so comfortable and coached us perfectly through it all. We received so many compliments at the wedding about how much fun we looked like we were having. I would recommend him and Fred Astaire to anyone!
marhyssa powell: Great teachers!! Patient😊and kind. Definitely recommend
Sergei Shubin: Awesome school! Many thanks to awesome teacher Dmitry!))
Nicole Eveland: My husband and I got married in Colombia this summer and wanted our first dance to be something fun. Dmitriy was so patient with us while he taught us a slower dance into salsa. We loved our lessons and it was some of the best money we spent for our wedding! The practice paid off on our big day and everyone loved it. Thank you guys for all your help!
Bryan Parker: Amazing experience so far! I normally don’t review places but I’ve had 3 lessons and 1 group lesson and I wanted to take some time to show some appreciation to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. The introductory lessons gave me a great place to start as the introduce the different types of dances they offer and allow you to pick your favorites to learn.Other than learned how to dance my main motivation was exercise and dance is a great workout for the body but also the mind. The instructors here are top class and explain their directions clearly and in a simple manner and before you know it your executing a new technique that you could do minutes before. The instructors also have a lot of personality and make me feel like they are there to help me learn instead of just collecting a paycheck.I’ve learned so much in just 3 lessons and am very excited for my new lessons so I just wanted to leave a review here Incase anyone else is looking for a studio, this is the one!
Robert Mady: Thank you for teaching me to dance! I recently got engaged (now married!) to my fiance (now wife) and I didn't know how to dance beyond the basic robot, so I looked around and found Carolina Dance. From the moment I started to when I got the hang of things, the dance instructor helped me all the way. She gave me tips and how to practice at home with a partner. She, also, taught me different type of dances in case something came up. She instructed me the proper way to waltz and salsa; as well as, where I should place my hands and where I should stand.Thank you again for teaching me how to dance. I will be recommending Carolina Dance to all my friends.
Melanie Johnson: We are having so much fun learning to dance together here! The instructors are so nice and approachable. They really make dancing fun. In group classes and at practice parties, everyone is so friendly and supportive. There are some very affordable options if you are just thinking about trying out dancing but aren't sure how much you want to commit.

CC & Co Dance Complex: what do users think?
Joshua Donahue: I’ve never met a more caring group of people. Love everything about CC’s!! Our kids love it.
Ivette Acosta Soberanes: My daughter started dancing there 11 years ago and absolutely loves it! We are very strong, loving, caring and supportive big family!!! Teachers and talented and wise, as they bring choreographers and other dance teachers to be always giving that "plus" that characterizes the Company.
Courtney Ange: I’ve been dancing for a total of 10 years now and have been at three different studios. I started out at CC and somehow three years ago decided to come back ! The company has been so much fun and the staff for company has been great ! By far out of the three studios this is the best one!
Chaka Khan Fogg: ALWAYS a pleasant experience! ✨✨✨
Hilary Dolan: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueOur Daughter has been at CC&Co for 3 years now and she absolutely loves it. They make dancing so much fun and she is learning so much! We love CC&Co!
Jules Duke: Positive:Quality
Beth Thaxton: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismOur family loves CC&Co. Our dancer has grown tremendously under their care.
Niasha Fray: High quality instruction, creative expression, athletically challenging, and very inclusive and diverse. Top notch Gala productions, variety of courses and programming for all ages. This team of professionals makes a variety of contributions to enrich our community through the arts.
GregAndRachel Bass: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAll three of my kiddos have danced at CC & Co at one point or another, and we’ve never had a teacher we haven’t adored! The studio has the vibe of a family, where everyone is welcome and everyone is loved! We love CC & CO!!!
kristen rinaldo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMrs.Marlene is AMAZE!!!
Julia McGovern: Amazing and professional dance studio! The staff is an extremely talented group of people. Always kind and encouraging for the dancers. CCCO makes my daughter feel strong and confident about herself. Our family loves and highly recommends CCCO.
robyn: CC&Co has been the most wonderful studio ever! The staff are fun-loving, helpful, and pushes you to improve. I have been going here for 6 years and I have loved every moment. I get to dance with people I see on TV or at Conventions that are incredibly gifted! I am in the Jolt company and everyone in it are my family. I love CC&Co!!!
Hailey Lynn: I’m a dancer in Jolt and CC has been my home for 10 years. Thank you to all my teachers and friends for this amazing experience.
Ellie's World: I love it!! I came to CC's about 2 years ago now this is my 3rd year. I ♡ C.C and CO
Samantha Schpero: Let me start by saying I have never given a review of anything before so the fact that I am writing this says a lot!!! This place is absolutely the worst dance place I've ever been to. The facility is difficult to get in and out of. It's not parking friendly or stroller friendly. There is not enough seating. Its hot and stuffy. It's very crowded and difficult to maneuver around with your kids. The staff is not very friendly nor accommodating! The teachers are strict and intimidating to the youngsters. For the end of year recital, my daughters class of 3-4 yr olds is on a Sunday night at 7:30 pm (passed her bedtime). After mentioning this to the director, nothing was changed or even considered. She simply said "they'll rally". Overall, I'm extremely disgusted with this place and am looking forward to this all being over.
Brady n Krystal Ambrose: I found this place on Google while looking for a dance class for my daughter. They have alot of classes and options for you to take AND they are very reasonable price wise then the other studios I have seen in Raleigh and wake forest. I would just recommend you sign up early cause they fill up fast!I saw some reviews about them being unhelpful so I was on the lookout since I expect good customer service. They were very helpful! People I spoke with on the phone, at the front counter, buying her uniform, and speaking to her ballet teacher. All very wonderful! My daughters ballet teacher has quite the resume too. Very impressed who they have hired here and very happy I picked this place!
Melissa Weider: VERY unhelpful front desk staff! Too distracted with their own conversation. Facility is rundown. It is difficult to enter and exit facility. Some of the other dancers (kids) are allowed to bully the students, and the studio doesn't intervene. Not a good experience
