Treeo Senior Living, Independent Living Raleigh: what do users think?
Jerome Chavis: I visited my cousin recently and I love it!
Deborah Ward: Moved in the end of March 2023. It has been a wonderful transition for me.
Luanne Reynolds: My 84 year old father lived at Treeo for a year before, unfortunately, having to move to assisted living after suffering an Illness. Otherwise he would have never left. He thrived there. The staff is wonderful, the food is great and they offered lots of activities for the residents. It’s a great place to live!
Elise Frederick: Great place! Wonderful staff and community! They have so many activities for residents to stay active and busy. I am so thankful my parents have such a wonderful place to live!
Kevin Powell: My wife and I moved in here on 03/02/2022 and we love it!! The staff and the residents are fantastic! We have made great friends here. We are so blessed to have such wonderful neighbors. We are so thankful to have been accepted and feel so welcomed! God bless you all!
cahlin buccola: The building is absolutely beautiful and the people who live there are wonderful. However the employees leave something to be desired. They talk down to the resident and treat them like they are babies or an annoyance they can't wait to get away from. They are human beings and our elders and should be treated with all the respect that comes with it. Shame on you treeo do better
Mrs. Tanisha: Awesome place to partner with! Caring, pro active staff who go above & beyond. Fun activities for residents. Safe environment. Clean and modern ambiance. Loved ones will be in an awesome community.
Claire Johnson: My uncle recently moved in after another niece did the due diligence and identified Treeo as a good fit. And, boy, was she right! The staff (Eric, Mark, Heather, and everyone else) has been amazing to work with from the initial tours to correspondence from afar and in-person. The place is lovely, lively, spotless, and attractive. My uncle has been thoroughly enjoying the food, the exercise classes, and the nature outings, and that's just the first two weeks! Even with COVID-19 restrictions, Treeo has maintained safety, while not making it feel overly locked down. I highly recommend Treeo for a loved one - or yourself!
Kim C: After The decision was made that my mom was ready for senior living I researched all my different options starting with Treeo. From the moment we pulled up we both knew this was the Place. After meeting with the staff and touring the facility my mom and I decided right there and then this was the place. I canceled the rest of our other showings. My mom has enjoyed being there immensely and I’m totally at peace knowing that she’s in great hands. Personally I love to visit because I feel like I’m entering a five-star hotel. The facility is very clean, modern, bright and cheerful. If you’re looking for a clean modern cheerful place for your loved one(s) I strongly recommend touring Treeo!
Bernadette Pickles: As a professional Companion Care Provider, I have had the privilege to meet some outstanding staff at Treeos. I can not thank enough every staff member who continues to go above and beyond to assist me any time I may run into an issue that does not allow me to provide the best of care. To name a few, Heather, Claire, Eric, Lauren are wonderful professionals who at times wear many hats to make this facility be the best it can be. I applaud and honor you all. God bless, Bernadette Pickles
Jennifer Holloway: You know when you have an experience where it seems that all the stars align just right. That was how it was when we went to visit Treeo to see if it would be a good fit for my mom.The staff was great...everyone is friendly and helpful. You can tell that they care about the people that live there and enjoy working with each other.Everyone we talked to that lives there has nothing but good things to say about Treeo. I am excited that my mom has found such a encouraging, fun, happy place to move!
maureen carter: Eric was amazing to work with! He showed compassion and passion to my family, especially my Dad which means the world to me. The food is delicious and I love the decor and I feel good about this being the next phase in my parents journey.
Andy Ulmer: I recently visited my folks from out of state. In my first view of the Treeo facility was absolutely 5 star. Obviously new, well laid out, secure. Easy for residents and guests to visit. Easy for residents to get to know each other. And of course, the staff was very friendly. But, you don't really know about a place until something goes wrong. When my father had a health emergency the staff was super on top of it. The situation called for common sense and some compassion. For privacy reasons I must be vague, but the staff at Treeo was fantastic when it was really time to be fantastic. People do not think about this particular aspect when they are looking for a place to live. But, I assure you it is critical and the staff and management at Treeo know how to help. I could not give them higher marks.
Ardis Villott: After much research on line for a senior living community in Raleigh ,and 3 visits to other communities, we made the right choice and chose Treeo senior living. We have been here a month now and have been happy with our choice in all ways. Moving from your home after many years is a hard task, but sometimes necessary. With the help of a friendly staff and friendly residents it made the adjustment much easier. We do recommend coming and looking Treeo over if you are looking for a senior community . Ardis & Tom Villott
Tracey Campbell: We’re moving my 86 year old poppa here from independent village and I am so excited for his new home! The staff is very upbeat and hard working. The vibe here compared to where he has been living is like night and day. Very modern decor, bright apartments with a full kitchen! Everyone who lives here seems very happy and vibrant. They treated us to a dinner so we could try to food and it was excellent! I am so glad they opened one in Raleigh because my poppa never enjoyed living where he lives right now and it’s great to know he will be in good hands.

Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community: what do users think?
Amanda Durant: Independent living is great and my father had a beautiful apartment there in South Village- great maintenance staff, wonderful dining area and staff, beautiful facilities and lovely residents. But if your parent has dementia, which he had early stages of that were clear from a cognitive test they administered to him, a test which my sister and I did not see until after he moved in to Independent Living, please educate yourself about what the long term will look like for them and ask to take a tour of the health center. He had some really nice years in South Village, which we all enjoyed, but it was very harsh and confusing for him when they no longer allowed him to live in his apartment and he was suddenly in a shared room at the health center during lockdown. Also read Being Mortal by Atul Gawande.
Cheech Esposito: My mother was in the health center for a week before she passed. The nurses are all very caring and polite. However, the assistants are not so. Actually saw one throw her arms in the air and say Lord help us! when she was sent to retrieve a lift for my mother to use the toilet in her room. The staff at the front desk needs a few classes in how to talk to visitors. One told me that I needed to tell her I'd already signed in (I just had) because "this is second shift...this ain't first shift". Seriously? People coming to SHC are in a bad state usually visiting a sick or dying loved one and this is how they are greeted? Another one was worse but it'd take too long to address here.
HunnidShxtzYT: Worst place to work
Hal Starling: Curteous staff
Jewell Thomas: Never had one bad experience
Daisy Colon: That's the best workplace
susan williams: Everyone is happy, friendly and always helpful.
Ashley Haakenson: The staff is so kind to everyone and they are fun to be with. My grandpa lives there and he loves it. The fact that the residents all are friends is amazing. It brings great comfort to my parents he is well taken care of.
Cynthia Franklin: Best nursing home in the state
Yvonne Talton: It's okay. It's just the staff there are rude.
Andrew Wood: I have a grandparent who is living here and I’ve come to visit several times. Every time I’ve visited they’ve only had positive things to say about the staff and community, and from what I’ve seen, I’d say they’re very good at what they do.
Jayme Dubernas: It is a loving caring atmosphere! Community support with in the structure. Actives and social events then end of life care.
Piie White: Great place to work
Clinton Franklin: A great place to have family in .
David Spaulding: My grandmother stays here and she is well taken care of. Nice and friendly staff who care.
ngozi obu: Great place
Beverly Evans: Beautiful place!
Chip Pierce: Just a visit but seems a lovely retirement center.
john ogidi: Remarkable staff and welcoming environment
Sammy Lawrence: My grandma has lived there for years. I've never heard any complaint from her about the place. It's always clean, the maintenance crew does a great job. I think the only problem she's had was one mouse in the kitchen, which I helped her with because all they gave her was a glue trap. Which worked, but I had to use veggie oil to free it and release it afterwards, lol. Also, I wouldn't know much about this, but I hear it's ridiculously expensive. Nice place, though.

The Oaks at Whitaker Glen: what do users think?
Marylene Gray: The Oaks at Whitaker Glen has wonderful large oaks, crepe myrtles, and other kinds of trees and shrubs making it a beautiful campus! There is a garden area where residents can plant vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Our activities department plans interesting weekly activities at the facility as well as local and out of town trips! Residents and employees are very friendly and helpful. The three apartment buildings do not feel like you are living in a dormitory!
Brigitta Gucker: We’re looking for a place for my mom and dad and we’re given a very nice tour with Anne. She was knowledgeable, professional and respectful. She answered all my parents questions and was very helpful. Thank you foryour time and expertise.
Justin Matthews: Be careful before moving your loved ones here, read their disclosure statement carefully especially the financials (they have been losing money for years which explains why the quality continues to decline) . Whitaker Glen charges expensive entrance fees you might expect from a continuing care retirement community that provides ongoing care, but Whitaker glen only provides independent living so if your senior needs assistance there is a very real possibility they will be asked to leave. They gave residents a one week notice that a multi year construction project would start, and turned the property into an ongoing construction zone. They do have Mayview listed as a skilled care center but it is really run down and it has a high percentage of Medicaid patients not at all what you might expect for the expensive entrance fees they charge.
kim hoang: It’s so far the best, if my parents need a retirement community I would highly recommend!
Cyndi Johnson: My mother was taken here after 2 weeks at Wakemed. It was during Covid 2020.We could never get in touch with Nursing staff for an update. The case Manager was very nice, she returned my callsOne evening i called 2 hrs, no one ever answered the phone. Th nursing staff is Absolutely terrible.I was able to video chat with my mom.The gentlemen in charge of video chat was fabulous. He made sure i dpoke with 3 times a week. She said the Nurse aides were very rude and nasty to her.My mom was a sweetheart, very gentle and kind. She never came home. she died there. Please do not take your family here, make another selection .I still upset
Evonne Beattie: I moved here from out of state 3 years ago. I have family nearby, as do so many others.I live on the 4th floor and have a balcony where many birds enjoy my suet feeders. Every apartment has access to the outdoors - either a balcony or a patio. Each building has an atrium with a skylight that makes it very light and airy and conducive for social functions. The food is excellent, and we do not have to go outside to get to the dining Room.
Marilyn Barnes: I was having difficulty breathing, I called down to speak to a RN and Linda was here in less than ten minutes. She called my Doctor and he said I needed to get to an emergency room. Linda called the front desk and Caleb our activities director drove me to Rex Emergency room within five minutes. The staff at Whitaker Glen could not have been any more understanding, proficient or kind. I was amazed when I returned with how many letters and cards were left for me. The kindness of the residents touched my heart. Whitaker Glen is a great place to call your home.
Charlotte Best: The down town location is very important to me. I was very fearful to be tucked away in “a place for mom” located beyond all belt lines. Instead I am within a 10 minute walk of five points. I am close to Cameron village, and not far from downtown museums restaurants, universities, churches, and volunteer opportunities. The Whitaker Glen staff is great, we have a small and welcoming community come and join us.
Rosemary Thomas Boles: Wonderful place to live! My mother moved here over a year ago with much trepidation but absolutely loves it. The staff and residents here are very friendly. Immediately my mom felt right at home.
Fred McKaig: The staff is exceptional. Chuck and Brian are the best maintenance people I have ever seen. You don’t want to start your day with out then.
Linda Eddins: I love the respect the staff gives to the elderly. Delmar, Chuck and Brian and the entire staff go up and beyond call of duty. The grounds are beautiful and well kept.
Linda Benner: I love the staff, always helpful I can not say enough about them. I love the openness of the atrium. I love the views of the campus.
John McCormick: When I compare my expenses living at my home previously before coming to the Oaks, I find many advantages to the cost and services offered at the Oaks at Whitaker Glen. Also, the staff has been very helpful to me medically, socially, and astute quality of life in learning more about myself and other people.

Independence Village of Olde Raleigh: what do users think?
Diane Ackerley: Friendly staff. Helpful to my brother.
Joan Ballard: My friend is a resident here, so I’ve been to visit and have lunch a few times. My friends apartment is nice and spacious, plenty of storage. The gardens are particularly lovely spaces: lots of comfortable seating, box gardens and planters, and birdhouses that residents can put out. And grow flowers, herbs, etc. There is a game room for bridge, bingo, cards. There’s a comfy movie watching room with popcorn machines. Big, hallways to move easily in. Staff seems really nice, and residents I’ve met are always friendly. Always smells clean. The reason I’m giving only 3 stars is because of the quality of the food. The food purchased and prepared is sub-par, and not very eatable. Poor nutritional quality as well. Fried chicken gizzards (fried to leather consistency), and French fries? Served to senior citizens? With a dab of Cole slaw? This place can do so much better! The soup was passable, but again, only a tiny bit served.A good diet, of lean meat, vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy and grain options (cow, almond, oat. Wheat, gluten free,) of nutritionally significant value, in correct portion sizes will go a long way to not only maintaining, but possibly improving resident health. As well as increasing mood health! A good, hearty, healthy meal goes a long way to making your day brighter. What my friend had to eat today, was shameful. For what the residents pay, surely you can do better.
larry hancock: I was there after 9 pm last evening to check on a resident. The main doors were open with NO one at the front desk. Still No one there when I left approximately 30 minutes later. Anyone could have easily entered with no questioning. Quite concerning.
Lauren Messick: My pop-pop loves it here ,he has so many friends ,all the staff members just love him . They are very supportive and welcoming when I come to visit . Thanks for making this such a wonderful place for my pop-pop
Karen: I moved my mom to Independence Village from another independent living facility in May. Of course, I had worries about the transition, and she was anxious and nervous about it as well. However, two weeks ago when I visited her, as I do on Thursdays, she told me something that let me know we had made the exact right choice for her. One of her hobbies is playing the Publisher's clearing House sweepstakes. She informed me that "when" she wins her two, five, or 10 million, she wants to stay right there at Independence Village of Olde Raleigh because it is the best place for her. I say that is quite an endorsement!
Stacey G: This place is amazing. I'm so happy we found it for mom . We love the staff 😊 Wanda, Ann, Katrina are so welcoming we felt at home right away . Mom has improved so much being there, loves her new friends and all the activities. They really do put their heart into every detail to make everyone feel special . They have lifted such a huge burden off our shoulders knowing mom is happy and looked after but has her own apartment and space to herself. I could go on and on about how pleased we are finding this hidden gem 💎 with such great people. 😊
Leo ALONGE’: Our mother has been a resident here for over 5 years. The value is tremendous. The staff is always trying to make improvements for the facility. They don’t have any turnover at the management level and that is a huge plus in this industry. The rooms are great size, are clean and they have nice amenities.Mom stays active with many activities. We are blessed to have her at IV. It’s also very close to all her doctors.
Guy Vitaglione: Outstanding staff, very supportive and considerate. Highly recommended.
TF Howes: I have lived at Independence Village for five years. I find the staff to be generally friendly and responsive. The meals are good, although they tend to have too many carbohydrates. The building is about thirty years old, so it's not in perfect shape, but it's kept clean, and they are constantly making improvements. The residents are friendly. The activities director is excellent, and there is a very active bridge club. One of the best things about Independence Village is its location - within walking distance of restaurants, a grocery store, two banks, a pack-and-ship store, two pharmacies, a nail salon, and a hairdresser. It's also near Rex Hospital and many doctors offices.I should note that these reviews should be taken with a grain of salt, for the staff actively solicited "five star reviews" from selected people. Nevertheless, Independence Village is a pleasant place to live. It provides an excellent value and it deserves a legitimate four star rating.
Evelyn Robertson: Great retirement community !!
Brian O'Neal: Huge nice houses
Joanna Smothers: Five stars not only for being a cozy, welcoming community but for their outstanding handling of the COVID 19 threat. The director was clear in communicating and enforcing policies and procedures. She has been thoughtful in her leadership and has managed the evolving challenges with common sense and compassion. Kudos to the staff as well who have kept the residents safe, sane and entertained!
Mark Flowers: My Mother has been a resident at Independence Village in her fourth year. The Staff are friendly and helpful, my Mother loves Katie's chair exercise, and the facility is clean and safe. Recently Care Givers were offered the Covid 19 vaccine which went well, and was a big undertaking for the Staff.
clara godwin: I have lived at Independence Village for 6 years. My apartment is comfortable with windows for light and fresh air, as desired. Storage is adequate with a walk-in closet. The staff are very nice and helpful. Activities are available with a very talented activities director. We are close to medical offices with transportation provided as needed. Food is plentiful and varied. I can walk to the grocery store, bank and shopping in a very nice residential community. Providing a residence I am happy to call home.
Debbie Brewington: The staff is always helpful and always eager to greet me when I enter the facility. Wanda, Katrina, Christine are always pleasant to work with!
Jaa Cloons: Such a beautiful place filled with professionals who really seem to care for the residents. There are so many activities daily and I think that has to do in large part to the a women named Katy who over sees them. She really seeks to enrich the lives of the people who live there and it shows! Highly recommend for an aging loved one!
Casey Caldwell: Absolutely beautiful community, the activities are some of the best in the area! Highly recommend checking out Independe Village!
April Matthews: There are so many great things about this place. The staff and the activities available for the residents make the place feel like home and put smiles on everyone’s faces!
Jill VanderHoek: This is a lovely facility that offers great amenities for their residents! The planned activities are fun and creative while also adhering to public health guidelines for safety. We think they're groovy!
Karen Smith: I am a health advocate for a senior friend whom we helped move into Independence Village a year ago. She has gone from isolated to social butterfly! Between the bell choir, writing club, Christmas play and the simple things like dining with friends, her life is so much richer.
Brenda Peebles: Katy the Activity Director is friendly, approchable, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond! She helps with technology and is kind and patient when helping me. If we run in to trouble, she's resourceful and can find the answer.

The Cypress of Raleigh: what do users think?
Pamela Bennett: Good place the people are nice. The workers are hard workers and people are good to get along with a good place to stay to call home.
Marek Kucharski: Visiting friends. It's an amazing setting for the retirement. Just had a great meal.
Ken Hardee: Fantastic for anyone planning their retirement! Super staff!
Judah: Lots of old people.
Shannida Letellier: A formal complaint has been filed against this facility for hostile work environment, threats of safety and well-being during work hours, and emotional distress. Not only is the director of facilities extremely racist but they treat their members like trash. The HR let's her senior staff rum around like they own the place and not the members. I will never recommend to my grandparents or parents.
Zeiyren Ramsey: They treat their employees like second class citizens. Director of facilities is extremely racist. Not only have members died here due to the dangerous living conditions but this place is extremely over priced. A formal complaint has been filed with the NC employment bureau for violations against workers.
Traveling Mama: Nice senior gated community, nice club house activities also long term care facility is in the community, exceptional !
Michael W.: This place fires a lady for a failed drug test. Everyone on God's Earth knows that a hair test is way more accurate than a urine test. The lady passed not one but two of those. This place should have been required to have two failed tests before they took job action. Please go elsewhere. These people will treat your family the same way.
Quanisha King: Exceptional work environment. Excellent care given to all members. Team work at its finest!!!!!
Robert Davidson (Mr. Jones): Great place. Great staff. Everything is Beautifully maintained - outside and inside!
Michael Sloan: Tremendous care all around
Travis J: Very clean place but the delivery drivers go through the worst when it comes down to delivering packages they treat us like we dobnt belong there other than that for the elderly its very nice
Jessica Matheny-Greene: Very secure..... & Beautiful
Robert Winchester: My parents moved in mid October, 2018. They are very happy. Great food. Great facility. Very quiet unit. So glad they made this decision. Very nice folks (staff and residents).
Melissa Kandel: If I could give less than 1 star I would! They are only concerned about financial gain and have no compassion or care for their residents.
Jeanette Poston: Breathtakingly beautiful.
Kent Jernigan: Cutting edge upscale retirement community with great food, landscaping and activities almost everyday. Live bands, cultural outings, Little German Band and lots of amenities.
bryan conklin: Very nice large upscale retirement community.

Great thought has gone into the layout, floor plans, conversation rooms, library, activities rooms and their beautiful theater. The residents are a friendly community. Highly recommend.

Falls River Village: what do users think?
Timothy allen: I love working here. The care for the residents is very good and the food services director Sakana is an amazing chef
Sunflower Flowers: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My agency sent me here to help out as a cna this place is unprofessional. They double diaper their residents so that they don’t have to keep changing them. The director of memory care has no professionalism, she does not interact with her residents, do not know how to communicate at all . Last but not least she comes to work with her hair standing on top of her head. That’s no way to represent yourself as a Director . The med tech Tobias is annoying , he has no life. The staff here are miserable literally. The activity coordinator comes to work and do nothing with residents, they make their cna’s do activities. Don’t send your family here warning ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Cathy McKillip: Before COVID when we could visit our loved one in this facility on a daily basis things were ok. While we understand that closing the facility due to COVID was a necessary step, our loved one went steadily downhill as soon as the facility was closed to visitors. She did not receive proper care with hygiene and with medical screenings after the facility was closed to the public resulting in an extended hospital stay. The non-medical staff at this facility is great, but the medical team does not care about the residents. The Executive Director needs to go, she does not make the medical team treat the residents well and with respect. Our loved one was at this facility for 1 1/2 years and it has steadily gone down hill. I would beware about placing your loved one in this facility.UPDATE: 6/29/20 - it is interesting to read the facility's response. Had the Executive Director returned our phone calls like she said she would, she could have learned everything about this situation that she needed to know. She clearly wanted our loved one removed from this facility and dumped her on the hospital for treatment of a routine infection. This has caused our loved one much unnecessary trauma.
Michael Kovach: Clean and bright. Staff is friendly. Food is good.
Mischa Arnold: Awesome place and staff
Pat Foster: My Mother was having more and more difficulties with her activities of daily living and needed more assistance than I could give her, so she started living there. It has been a wonderful experience for us all. The staff are friendly and efficient. Mom was always clean, dry, and well-fed. After several months, Mom's condition deteriorated, and it was suggested that Mom be moved to the "memory care" building next door. The move couldn't have been easier! Rodney and Eric moved Mom "lock-stock and barrel" next door before I even knew it! They hung her pictures and made her room feel comfortable right away!Mom gets very good care at her new home. The staff keep the residents busy by doing exercises, word games, visits outside, etc. They are patient and caring. Falls River Village and Court gets a 5 star rating from a caring daughter! Sincerely, Pat Foster
