cat: This is located in a great spot downtown Raleigh there was a couple people with high energy which was awesome to see the drinks was good the bartender was fine as hell and go have your own experience and tip the bartender and see what you think I had a great timeService: 4/5 …More
Rachel Nosacka: Service was really really lacking. There only 10-15 guests total while we were there yet our server rarely came by. We ordered a second round of drinks that never came and watched the bar tenders on their phone or just standing- clearly the server hadn't passed along our drink orders. When we tried to flag her down to our table for the ticket she ignored us. When we finally went to the bar to pay for our 1 round of drinks she stood with her back to us talking to the bartender ignoring us while the 2nd bartender was on her phone ignoring us. mind you this is a very small room. You have to work to not notice what's going on around you. Then she finally gave us the ticket with 2 round of drinks on it. When we said that we never got our second round she tried to argue with us. The atmosphere was great and music was good. The drinks we got were very tasty. We we're planning to bring our friends but changed our minds. Do not want to deal with this kind of service again for the price.
Ercan Çetinkaya: Veryyyy good
Lindsay Harris: We had the pleasure of visiting The Green Light while in town for a special occasion. It did not disappoint! It had a very cool vibe beginning with the bookcase entrance followed by the cool, speakeasy setting once inside. The cocktails are fabulous and the bartender and manager (Justin and Reid) were very helpful with recommendations as well as exceptional hospitality. We definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance as we will if we are back in town!
Colleen B: Forever my go-to place for: taking out of town guests, date night, low key girls night, after dinner night cap, pre-dinner cocktail, or just a quiet respite right after your work day. I recommend coming during the week and early as it can get quite busy, crowded and loud. Very small space, tucked behind a bookcase, the cocktail list is always giving major craft vibes and nearly all of them can be adjusted based on preferences. Often, the bartender will give fantastic recommendations based on your preferences and desires. Speaking of staff, that's really my main reason for knocking off a star. The staff is either really great and or not. It feels like when I go, even when they're not busy, I either get a bartender that is engaging or ambivalent and bored.
Ismail Mohammedali: Justin did an amazing job for the drinks. I loved all the drinks. It was amazing all the drinks he made on the go just by listening to requests. Soo if you have any requests then visit this place!!
Nancy Girouard: Delivers everything it promises. You can only text msg for a reservation. The door is actually 108 5 (1/2) not 108.Justin was wonderful, the drinks delicious, ambiance posh but chill.
Hayward Campbell: Nice vibe
Carol Matthews: Used to be fun because you had to hear about it from someone that knew it was there. And there was no host stand so you just had to know how to enter. The bar tender had time to talk to you and find out what you typically drink to make a good suggestion. Now, they're so busy they just want you to order and get on. No longer a hidden gem!
Angelica Jaramillo: Great cozy vibe, great drink recommendations by the bartender, and a super nice host (forgot his name), all around, fantastic, and will definitely be going there again!!
Heather Beann: Love the speak easy vibe. The staff was exceptional, as well as the Bees Knees. Basically a lemon drop shot, a drink I have never been fond of, has a subtle sweetness to it because of the honey. Making it a much better drink to enjoy. The cozy environment that it gives off is similar to the Great Gastby novel, making it great for an intimate night out. Do not bring a first date here, though. Your experience might be different than mine, in high hopes that it is, but it is too comfortable of a place to bring someone you just met. Thank you, Green Light, for a new place for me to come back to and enjoy.
David Henry: Very cool place. Good use a little signage to let folks know where it is.
Laura Nelson: Cool little cocktail spot with great service and amazing drinks.
Robin Bubonic: Great drinks and great people. Can't wait to go back!
quashema mitchell: The drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was very cool. It was my husband and I first time there. Our bartender Justin was GREAT.

dan smith: Bittersweet is my favorite cocktail bar downtown and is definitely in the running for my favorite cocktail bar in Raleigh. They have an extensive list of house craft cocktail creations from boozy old fashioneds to mild spa-waters and everything in between. Their selection of Gin might be the best in the triangle. You can go on Gin safari with Gin and Tonic. Literally a shot of the Gin of your choice a glass of ice, a lime wedge and a bottle of tonic. I have found several new Gins I like this way. Sniff and sip the Gin by itself, then make my own GnT as strong/weak as I like. Bittersweet also has a great selection of visually beautiful and delicious desserts including a rotating selection of house made pies. It’s just a great place to grab a drink and something sweet anytime or after dinner at any of the nearby restaurants.
Connor Bowser: Anna was amazing! Friendly and kind! Super professional! Food and cocktails were fantastic! Thank you Bittersweet staff for my perfect experience!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ruth Hines: This is a perfect little drinks and dessert spot. I really enjoy their pirate coffee and beautiful mess cake.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pirate Coffee …More
Alex Davis: This place was great! We went on a Saturday night around 10pm so we were expecting a crowd. There was a line out the door but we still only ended up waiting about 15 minutes. They had lots of drinkoptions and our drink was absolutely delicious. We also got the crème brûlée which we loved! The atmosphere was great and the people were kind. It’s nice that you have a waitress (or a bartender at the bar if you’re sat there) so you didn’t have to wait in line at the bar to order. We will be back for sure!
James Tetterton: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Salty Chipwich Ice Cream SandwichMore
Nicole G: This is a tough one to write because I genuinely think they have great desserts and those alone are 5/5.However, their espresso martinis and their service are not great. If you’re from the northeast, you’re not going to like the espresso martinis here. They’re made with just lightly sweetened espresso and vodka, so they’re very bitter, not much sweetness, and lack the smooth taste of a well balanced drink. I’ve tried this multiple times and had my friend also from the northeast try it and she agreed.Far worse than the espresso martinis though is the customer service. There are a number of rude waitresses that I encounter every time I go in. Most recently, I had tried ordering a modified espresso martini more towards my taste, and the waitress asked if I still wanted the “Demi-glacé” that comes with it. I was confused and asked if she meant a glaze on my pie, and she rudely said “no, it’s in the martini, did you read the menu?” The menu said nothing about a demi-glacé or any type of glaze in the martini. Myself and my party were very put off by her attitude with us.I’ll come back in the future for their desserts because as I mentioned earlier, they’re great, but I definitely need to take a break after my last encounter with the staff.
Brian Lancaster: Staff was very rude when asked for a table she replied with an “I guess”.. Bartender was also very standoffish as well. Service was terrible but drinks were good.
Robin Mehera: It was a warm Friday evening. After a delicious dinner, we were in the mood for both dessert and a drink, in came Bittersweet.A unicorn of a restaurant/bar, a dessert bar. They do not take reservations and are always slammed, so be prepared to wait or get lucky if no one is in town. They have all types of cocktails and desserts. Their key like pie, pecan pie, espresso martinis, are all amazing.Good spot.
Andrea Benjamin: This is my favorite bar in Raleigh and one of my favorite bars overall! Love this place!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Tayla Weiner: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5More
M c: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
kavya anumolu: The best place in Raleigh downtown area. We were here with our friends for desserts and cocktails. The presentation and taste was so good. We ordered the chocolate brownie sundae, coffee crème brûlée and some cocktails. It was my first time trying the coffee flavoured crème brûlée and it was very good. I suggest to get a reservation done beforehand as this place is rush at all times.
RaghadAbdulellahAlaseeri: I didn’t like the chocolate raspberry tart, but the blueberry lavender crème brûlée was worth a shot. I loved their white chocolate latte✨!
Daisy Martinez: Loved the desserts here and my girlfriend loved her cocktail
Chris G: 10 out of 10 bathroom.
Jacquelin Coronilla: Absolutely delicious spot for dessert & gin lovers alike~ Fantastic selection of classic, coffee, & seasonal craft cocktails plus a dedicated gin menu. Keep a lookout for their Gin Club events too!
Seth Asher: Such a great after dinner joint!Fun space, reasonable prices and great staff!Mike deserves a bump, treated us well.

Crude Bitters / The Bittery: what do users think?
Joey Barbour: First and best bitters in NC! The shop sells multiple brands of bitters as well as bar tools for any of your cocktail needs. Craig and Lindsay are incredible people and are always hospitable. Tester bottles are available so you know what you are buying. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Several bitters of various flavors from the house brand are available to test as well as dozens from other brands. It doesn’t matter what your favorite cocktail is you’re going to find something here to elevate it or tweak its flavor profile. They also carry a selection of cocktail syrups, mixers, and bar supplies.
Austin Semmel: Amazing selection of bitters! Some great flavors that you would never think of as well. Plus other bartending musts. Really hard to find orgeat anywhere, but they have it!
Will Fonvielle: Needed a mixing syrup, and they had better prices and higher quality items than anywhere I found online. Also a wonderful assortment of barware. Friendly employee who answered my questions clearly and knowledgably.Making this my go-to store for cocktail accessories!
Megan Edge: Amazing and inspiring store with the most amazing assortment of bitters, truly artisan mixers and standard barware thay I have ever seen in one place.
Mark Vincent: Shaken or stirred...the most excellent source for your bar wear and bitters! Lots of selection, great advice and classes to nudge you off into some serious creative cocktails.
Jonathan Collman: Wide selection of bitters, beverages, mixers, and cocktail tools. There's unusual stuff there that's hard to find and really interesting. It's absolutely worth a visit, especially if you know about Death & Co., Employees Only, and Dale DeGroff.
Lyndsey Campbell: Awesome place!! Came here for Negroni week and the host was great. Great selection of cocktail ingredients, tools, glassware, etc. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Andrea Martin: I can’t say enough good things about this store and the events that they hold. They are a bittery shop and also make their own bitters as “Crude” small batch bitters. They have been in business for almost 10 years and Craig is great in hosting the class. One of the best and most cost effective things that I have Done in Raleigh with a smile on my face
Paige Randall: We had the best experience here at the cocktail class. So fun and informational. Highly recommend!
Matthew Randall: Go to one of their classes! You won’t be disappointed!
Mark Lee: We attended a Bitters Class last night and it was a blast! Very interesting and fun...and despite my refusal to accept a refund for a no show in our party, Craig the owner refunded me anyway. Very Nice - Thank you

Emma Phillips: Such a unique shop. They have a huge selection of bitters, shrubs, mixers, and bar equipment. The staff were very knowledgeable in explaining the basics and answering my questions. Limited hours so make sure you check before making a trip.
Sejal Patel: Love everything about this place! Have bought a few bitters and shrubs from Crude over the years. Took a cocktail/shrub class today and it was awesome. Loved the interaction, the story, the experience, and most importantly the drinks. Amazing local business owned by some hard working folks. I am a fan and everyone should go visit and support them.
Michael J. Reilly III: Nice selection of items, very nice owner at the register, very knowledgeable.
Jason Kinnear: The bitters and cocktails classes are great! Thanks for an entertaining and educational evening!
Lisa Jeffries: Craig and Lindsay are hands down the best in the bitters biz! We love including their Bitters Samples Set in our tasting events and gifting packages. They are such a hit with guests and they love the "Made in Raleigh" touch!
Mellisa Makos: Attended a very covid conscious class last night at the bittery. Everyone was vaxed and spaced out which is very important to me as a healthcare worker. The class was very informative and we learned we were using our bitters wrong for a year. Highly recommend and can’t wait for more classes or the next time they have their charity bar. Go do it. Support Raleigh
Kaitlin Schlosser: I love The Bittery! It’s great for your cocktail needs on so many levels. I have taken a couple of their classes and always love to stop in to refill my bitters stash. This is also a great spot when you have visitors come to town. It’s a unique experience! Their customer service is unmatched and you can tell they care for their community. I cannot recommend them enough!
James Doyle: Awesome place for your cocktai supplies. Owners are fantastic!
