Susie Friedel: From the minute you enter you are surrounded in luxury. I love that the sauna and steam room are part of the ladies locker room experience. I highly suggest going an hour before your massage and spending time relaxing heating up and then a quick shower and cool down in the sumptuous lounge. My Signature Massage from Michael could not have been more perfect- it seemed to go on forever, yet was over too soon! Lorena Luca is the perfect escape from a hectic world. They did me the "great favor" of waiving the cancellation fee. Found another spot for my needs. No thanks. And the owner response just explains they have a no show policy. Not that they canceled on me.

Amy Amra: Well that's it, I'll never go to another masseuse again because there is no way it gets better than Shermicka. From start to finish the Signature Massage by Shermicka was so well done. Medium pressure was perfect. I feel like with medium pressure I usually find it either too hard or too soft but this was perfect throughout. She just did a phenomenal job with the massage - usually there is at least one moment in a massage where I'm not comfortable or something disappoints or feels awkward, sometimes it even feels robotic - to the point where I thought I'd stop getting them because maybe I am just not into them anymore. My sister bought me a gift card here though so I used it today and am so glad I did. I'll recommend Shermicka to everyone from now on and can't wait to come back. Was never even plugged in, had to plug in myself and figure out how to turn their machine on, now having to wait another 30 minutes for the water to boil to enjoy a hot cup of tea. Very poor customer service. Will not come back again. We were here a year ago and were treated with better customer service, hence why we came back again. But unfortunately will have to take our business elsewhere after this experience.

Deja Haywood: I have been coming to this H&S location for facials for about 7 months now. Noheli is amazing. She is so helpful and honest about skin care recommendations. During the facial she’s gentle, pays attention to detail, and very knowledgeable on the products used. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for an licensed esthetician.
Leanne Douglass: I tried to book online on their website a 1 hr massage for my husband as a gift and they have no openings for appointments until August. Insane you have to wait 3 months for availability
Jean Farrell: The folks that work there are fine but the business model and owner are terrible. Don't join their membership! My Mom tried to get out of her membership. I am helping. We talked to several managers, and went in person several times to achieve this. We put it on hold, used all her credits, followed their procedures. We started this effort in May '22. By October we had a few more visits in person to be able to speak to the owner in person. He said it would be canceled. Yay! No! In Feb '23 my Mom realized they are still charging her since Nov. We called and left a message, never heard back. We are now dealing with it on the credit card side. So frustrating. He went thru 3 managers during that time last year. Stay Away is my advice!

Desiree Johnson: I would say, the staff was friendly. Now! I don’t like telling ppl I am a LMT and have been for 17yrs. I like to try different establishments to see why they have 4&5 stars. As far as the massage is concerned. When you fill out a an intake form and note your problem areas, you’re suppose to go over that with the therapist so that/he or she knows the areas to focus on, the pressure etc. I come to be relaxed. I shldnt have to talk through the whole massage like can you go just a little firmer, can you massage my low back, can you do this and that. As a therapist you’re suppose to ask the client at least 2xs how’s that pressure and if you’re doing good, keep that up. If I note in my intake form and say my neck and back is hurting why wouldn’t you focus on those areas, if my intake form says firm pressure why would you give me basic Swedish massage with hot stone? I feel as though I had the most basic massage there. I went in with back pain hoping that the massage will give me some relief, but I came out the way that I went in, none of my problem areas was even touched for almost $90 plus a tip that was definitely a waste of money for me. I hate I have a balance on my gift card which is almost 200+ dollars left. I would rather continue to give my money to the Chinese massage suites. At least they listen to what I say when it comes to my problem areas , I feel as though they get the students straight out of school because those massages are very basic and generic. My therapist was just OK. He was surprised when I told him to go just a little firmer not deep but firm. I guess ppl don’t get firm massages 🤷🏾‍♀️ Once I use up all the money on the gift card, I will never return to hand and stone again. The 4 and 5 ⭐️ reviews are definitely from people who rarely go to spas. I will try a different therapist every time until the funds are depleted. Oh they advertise 1hr massage but you get 45min. That not an hour. If I massaged here, I wld take everyone’s client. I’m one of the best hands down. I’m mad my dam back still hurts. I have to pay another 75$ for the chines massage tmrw 🤦🏿‍♀️

She is very gentle (if anyone has had to do blackhead extractions you know how important it is to have someone so intune with their client's response) and her skin care recommendations have been top notch. Highly recommend coming to see her!

For both facials and massages, the professionals will ask what you are looking to correct and they will give you advice and recommendations on services. Lethal Rx Fitness: For some reason this facility believes that a couples massage can be done in separate rooms at separate times! I am beyond annoyed. The Durham location is terrible so I figured I would try Raleigh and this happens. I have had two cancellations from the Durham Location and now this. I don't want to be disrespectful but i'm just not understanding how someone could book a couples massages in two different rooms at two different times. & then I'm expected to be okay with it. Then instead of trying to call more staff in- I get told I can get moved to early time (as if we don't have jobs and work in the day time) This is beyond ridiculous and I will be canceling my membership! I literally just saw a woman in the durham location cancel for the same reason. I lived in philly and I have been a member for over 2 years. I have NEVER had this problem in philadelphia. Liz Cofer: In the past four months, my appointments were cancelled day of, even though I had a membership and had my appointments booked for 3+ months each. So, I cancelled my membership for a new spa, and that was on October 4, 2022- witching the 30 day window as my draft out date was the 11th of every month. Last Friday, I was charged the $70 for November, but should not have been. I called in, and was told the manager would call back by Saturday evening at the latest, but I never heard anything. I called yesterday, and was told that the manager has left, and I could call back at 10 to speak to the owner. I called back, and was told that the owner was on a call, and to call back later. I called back last evening, and was told the owner was busy on calls with members. I told them I would wait on hold if needed. Pretty ridiculous just to have things fixed, especially after having my last few appointments cancelled with them.

David Botts: I want to take a moment to share how this spa took what was a day we were looking forward to and turned it in the exact opposite.I'm also going to start this out by saying, It was my fault that I wrote down the wrong time for our appointment. So, I played a role in this. But if you want to understand how this spa handles misunderstandings with customers who have been there before, read on.I received a call at 3:15 PM from a young lady who said, "Should we still expect to see you today?" Surprised, I paused and said, "Of course, 5:00, we're still planning on being there." she followed that by saying, "I'm sorry, we were expecting you at 3:00." She put me on hold, while she took a minute to see if there had been a scheduling error. When she came back, she apologized and said that due to the misunderstanding she went ahead and looked at two other dates July 5th, and July 12th, for us to reschedule. We were pretty upset at the time, and driving, and decided we would call back to reschedule.Of importance, I also told her we could come right now. She said, we would only get about 45 min of the treatment, but she would rather schedule us for the whole treatment. Not to worry.Around 4:45, the same day, the spa called us back to inform us they were going to charge the full amount of the visit, $304, to the card on file. Further, that the Director and Owner of the spa had said "Go back, and listen to the call recording, to see whose fault it was."Apparently, it was my fault and I learned this at this point. This was a rescheduled appointment, from a previous 5:00 appointment, but I took it down incorrectly and thought we had held the same time.I completely understand making mistakes, and I own that. But the way this Spa handles it should be known.Foremost;1. They gave me the option to rebook on the first call. If I had rebooked my time on the phone with them earlier, there's a good chance none of this would have happened. But because I did not, clearly, that upset the owners. Rebooking was not an option when they called me at 4:45, telling me I was responsible for the full balance today.2. They took the time to go back and listen to a phone conversation recording weeks ago but didn't take the time to listen to the call that day, and listen to see if it sounded like there was a legitimate misunderstanding. They didn't care about the misunderstand, or that we were equally as upset about not enjoying a couples massage. They cared about money.3. You will be charged 100%. Because we missed the appointment, we paid $304 for nothing. Nothing at all. No $50, $35, 10%, 20%, or fee to cover a mistake. No pro-rated fee like most offices. Full Price.So, be aware if you go to this spa that there is no grace from the owner of this location. No compassion for a mistake. Charging the full fee is more important.As many of you reading this will know, when you have a hard week and you are looking forward to an experience like this, confronting someone with no compassion for their customers is quite unimpressive.**update: Pay close attention to the owners response. They listened to the booking call but not the call the day of the appointment. The owner doesn’t want to acknowledge that her staff told me not to come in, even though I could have had part of my appointment. Instead they told me not to worry, and offered two reschedule dates**

Thanks to the staff for allowing us to have a double session. The results were not the same just reclining in the room. I usually blow my nose for hours after completion of a session and this double session did not make that happen. Plus, COVID has not disappeared, there were seven (7) of us in the room. After the session was underway, one person left the room and did not return. We did not find the music to be calming, it was too upbeat and it was too loud. We requested the volume to be lowered and it was. I have several suggestions: Have complimentary water or let the customers know they should drink water after the session.Change the music for a more relaxing atmosphere.Thank You!

Instead of being understanding in the slightest- all they kept saying was that they were charging my card for the services regardless if I came in or not. They clearly don’t care about customer service - the only thing that matters to them is money.

Carolyn P.: I would not recommend this spa for the following reasons -- They are scheduling 10 weeks out with very limited availability. They were able to fit me in due to a cancellation (or so I thought) because I was trying to get a prenatal massage.- My appt was confirmed (I received a confirmation email) but subsequently, the receptionist removed me from their schedule without letting me know because they did not have my credit card to hold on file. Therefore I showed up for my appointment, waited outside for 10 minutes because the doors were locked, only for the receptionist to arrive, then argue and was adamant that I should have known my appointment was not actually confirmed because they did not have my credit card to hold, and the receptionist removed my appt from their calendar, even though I received a confirmation email just 2 days before my appt. They were not able to book me with anyone else so I drove there only to have to turn around and return later in the day (they were able to reschedule me same day, but was not thrilled I made 2 trips there in 1 day).- The entrance/waiting area does not feel very relaxing or therapeutic like most spas. It feels a little sterile, which wouldn't otherwise be noticeable for me, but given my other points above, I think it's now worth mentioning.If I wasn't given a gift card without any option to be refunded, I would not have rescheduled a message after my initial drive in and would like to have been refunded.

I ultimately left a 20% tip out of guilt but now I wish I hadn’t. If you want a relaxing, spa-like experience, this isn’t it.
B M: This might be a good place for a first-time massage. If you are an experienced LMT, or someone who has had massages from average-to-high caliber therapists, you will probably find this place very lacking. Aside from the very sterile feel to the waiting area, and the unfriendly receptionists, there is no essence of relaxation or calming energy anywhere in this place. It is a "chop-shop" to the bone. The 8 LMTs I saw there were okay-ish to terrible. The LMTs seem to also bring a "chop shop" kind of mentality: they don't seem to understand things like eye covers, neck pillows, how to actually use aromatherapy or what it is, how to create a peaceful atmosphere, how to NOT TALK DURING A SESSION, how to work muscles from origin to insertion, what deep tissue is, how to listen to and follow client requests, that you need to have your music working (and not have it cut out constantly), that you are prepared and competent, etc, etc. Honestly, I kept thinking I wasn't choosing "the right therapist" and somehow wasn't getting the ones everyone is raving about. I have even waited a MONTH+ to get sessions with specific people who were 'their best' and it was all subpar. Not a single therapist there really seems to have "it." They would be better suited working at dental offices or at a computer. I did massage for 14 years and in 3 different states, and if this is the best Raleigh has to offer, then the standard is radically inferior to everywhere else we've lived. I honestly can't think of 1 redeeming quality. I tried to like this place. I figured there was something I'm missing. The only thing I'm missing is a good massage, because this place isn't it. Oh, wait, there is 1 thing great: the estheticians. The best massage we had there was from them. The most relaxing time was from them. Props to the estheticians.

I get facials and massages, which are always top quality, but I wanted to give a shoutout today to Kristin for going above and beyond for her customer service efforts. I wanted to schedule a massage for my boyfriend and she kept an eye on the waitlist for me for over 3 weeks and called personally the second something opened up. I feel like family at White Dahlia, and I have since day one. While I absolutely wish the facilities had more of a "spa feel" with robes, relaxation rooms, etc., I'll never go elsewhere because I love everyone who works there so much. The way a spa impacts you is so much more than how your body feels coming out of a massage.

Brooke is incredibly knowledgeable about all things esthetic and an absolute joy to talk to. When it comes to massages at WD, Lynette is my go-to masseuse. Not only are her massages amazing, she’s also just a lovely person. Everyone there is so personable and I always feel at ease. Looking forward to trying some of their other services. Highly recommend:)

Ashton Byrd: Ableist employees who refuse to be educated on ADA law. I am a service dog trainer and my client went to this location to recieve services. She was denied access and was told her service dog wasn't legitimate because her vest wasn't right, and that service dogs weren't allowed in spas. The law states that service animals don't even need to be vested at all, and there's no such thing as an 'official' vest. And service animals are allowed anywhere the general public is, including restaurants and spas. Totally unacceptable behavior from staff. Do not recommend this location for disabled people to come and relax, as clearly they are not in the business of helping people with disabilities relax.

Apparently I had signed a 12 month contract which was not conveyed appropriately and now I am forced to go and relax my mind and body in a place which has a poor massage and customer service as you can see the details were not conveyed appropriately while signing up. I signed up after being told I could cancel my membership anytime. My only way out of this is to get a doctor certificate stating I cannot get a massage or pay monthly for the membership for 12 months without taking any session. Unbelievable!! Please make sure to read the hidden clauses presented to you in the ipad, just 10 min before your session as the most important clause is not conveyed to you verbally.

X David: Last year I was having back problems from a rollerblading accident and I signed up for their membership since I had the time to get the problem looked at, upon signing up they gave me a pass for a free 60min massage from between jun2021-june2022. I thought it was weird since I already signed up for a membership which ensured perks like that. So I asked the front desk attendant if I could give it to my gf as a gift for her to redeem and they said yes it was fine. I gave it as a give for her birthday last year. She goes in to redeem it yesterday and she showed the pass to the front desk attendant who took it and said nothing along the lines that she wouldn’t be able to accept it and allows my girlfriend in the back for her massage and then hours later they charge her for the massage and say they can’t accept the pass because it wasn’t hers to use. Which I understand policy but why accept the pass then charge her after the service has been done, that’s borderline entrapment which is odd to be happening from a reputable company. I’m upset because I feel gaslighted and envy that my gf was charged for a service I was told would be free.

He is the cutest little thing and knows his place very well. He does not bother any customer that does not choose to engage with him and those that do get a happy puppy to pet. First time or returning customers, Sunny always makes sure to introduce everyone to each other. Cannot imagine any other spa that would make me feel this relaxed and appreciated as a customer.
