Sonja Estes: When I first spoke with Greg at Cabinet Cures early last summer, I already had a vision of what I wanted my kitchen to be. My house was built in 1962 and nothing had ever been changed in the kitchen. Greg was great, provided answers to all of my questions, did a site visit to see if my vision was feasible, and then suggested that we could do a hybrid renovation. We decided on refacing a few of the existing cabinets and then ordered custom cabinets for the remainder of the kitchen design. Choosing the style of cabinet doors, the colors, and the cabinet pulls was the easy part since I knew exactly what I wanted. Greg, Melvin, and the entire team did everything they promised. We set a date, cabinets were ordered, we had the floors replaced with hardwood before they started the cabinet installation exactly on the date promised in September. My only recommendation - It would be helpful to have more information about the process prior to the crew coming out. Maybe a one-pager about what to expect and how to prepare, and things to consider like lighting, outlets, disconnections, etc. Some with more kitchen remodeling experience may have known how to prepare, but a little more detail for us newbies might have helped prevent some of the obstacles that came up.

We chose the J&K Dove White "E" line. Apparently this is the J&K budget line, but you would be hard pressed to find anything budget about them. They look beautiful and have a good solid feel to them. Any little adjustment that had to be done was done and made to look as if it was all there from the beginning. David wanted to take pics when he was done, but I wanted him to wait until the whole kitchen was done because it didn't do the cabinets a justice to not see them in a finished kitchen. Rest assured, we will have him come back when it is all done to take pictures to really show how nice these cabinets are. I would absolutely recommend them for your next cabinet job!

The cabinets I received are low quality and poorly manufactured, they don't seem to have a functional glaze on them. The white finish is rubbing and flaking off. Scott and Cory helped us fine tune our thinking into a final design and the specific details we needed. Cory would remind us that he could pretty much give us anything that we wanted and that gave us the ability to fine tune details to make the most of our existing space. As an example, we added a second pantry that was 6 inched deep inside. We took that that space from cabinets and counter that were not as important to our design, and gained a lot of functionality and balanced the design.Since I was the general contractor, we used Cornerstone to essentially remove our old kitchen cabinets and countertops, and install new cabinets a couple of weeks later. (During that time I removed an existing closet/pantry, had a plumber re-route the supply and drain for an upstairs laundry room, had an electrician add 2 new 240 volt circuits for appliances, patched flooring and sheet rock, etc.) Cornerstone assembled and installed our new cabinets perfectly. After they installed the cabinets I had stone countertops and backsplash installed, and re-trimmed the molding. After that Cornerstone came back to finish the details.Scott and Cory were great to work with. They held to the calendar dates agreed to before the job, which allowed me to get the required work done between the time the old cabinets were removed and new cabinets installed. Their specific responsibilities, scope of work, and price were clearly laid out in our contract, that way changes in the scope of work were easy to adjust. My wife enjoyed the closet design process and the staff was very helpful with their suggestions. The installation process went by without a hitch. Jason Sayers: California Closets installed a built-in desk, upper cabinetry, and a murphy bed in one room of our home. We always heard the name CA Closets as high quality and best in class. We were so disappointed with the end result. The initial installation included several scratches and surface chips where the product was cut with a dull blade or drilled for cabinet pulls. The head board was cracked and the holes drilled for the power source for reading lamps was frayed showing the inside of the material. The second installation corrected the cabinet pulls and replaced 1 door for the murphy bed, however no floor protection was placed and the new bed panel was immediately scratched. On the 3rd time the product was repaired. While ultimately CA Closets made this right, we were very disappointed with the process and quality of the product. For the cost it's surprising the product is essentially MDF or compressed wood and the quality of the installation was just so disappointing. We planned to use CA Closets for a future installation and have pivoted to a competitor product. Maurice Isrel: 5 star positive review. First, it was "turn key." They coordinated everything from beginning to end. Zach and Baris were great, and worked together well. Zach was great about proposing a design, but then working with us to make some modifications. Baris as contractor was amazing, as we had some definite "intricacies," especially with a soffit we have.Second, the price was multiple thousands of dollars lower than the big box stores quoted us, and less than other cabinet dealers who would not contract the whole project. They honored their price even when the cost of the cabinets went up.Third, they worked with us, proposing alternatives solutions, and letting us pick. Our biggest "issue" was we had a soffit from the ceiling down to the previous custom built cabinets. Most other companies wanted to remove the soffit, as the new cabinets would not "fit." Much higher cost. Baris and Zach had a solution of adding a short matching cabinet board from the same cabinet wood, and attaching it on top of the new cabinets up to the soffit. I cannot tell you how well this worked, and you would swear the cabinets were designed that way. We ran into an issue where one cabinet was designed such that we could not open if the adjoining cabinet was open, and they were glad to reverse the hinges. Also, we found the tile we wanted at Best Tile instead of The Tile Shop (who they work with more), and they were glad to work with Best Tile on getting us our choice.So my wife and I highly, highly recommend these guys. Other than going long (see below), we could not be happier with the kitchen, and they were the most reasonably priced to boot. So if you want to stop reading here, great. But if you want to learn a little about the whole experience, read below. These are just some things to understand when you go into this thing. Not bad, but they just are. Summed up, it is "things happen," and be prepared ahead of time. Maybe everyone knows these things, but we didn't.....First, it took longer than expected. Kitchen was demolished and cabinets were in the first week. But then United Granite had their laser measuring device break, so that was an extra week. So it was about a month until sink, granite, and tile were in. But there was a lot of "smaller stuff" left - cabinet hardware, adjustments to cabinet, kickboards. Their main cabinet guy (wish I could remember his name) was SUPERB, but he had a 2 week illness, and that added another 2 weeks. The whole thing wound up being 2 months. As I said, things happen.Second, sometimes things get discovered along the way. For us, it was the plumber suggesting (rightly so) that if we are replacing everything, do we want to replace the copper tubing with PVC. It is an old house. It only makes sense, but that was $300. Painting in general is not included, and we had them paint the kitchen window to match cabinets (white) - another $100. Not much. Just be ready.Third, there is a lot to pick out, and you have to know the order of things. Since the cabinets and sink go in first, you have to have your sink bought, and you have to know the size of your stove, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge before the first week. Since the cabinets go in first week, and they have space for the appliances, it makes sense. The dishwasher and microwave have to be purchased early. In general, stove and fridge can come later. On the granite, we worked with United Granite because of their association with Cabinet and Closet Depot. And they were great (other than the measuring device breaking). But I strongly suggest you 1) pick your slab yourself, 2) have them make a template of which part of the slab goes where, and 3) Adjust the template to get the pieces of granite you really want. United Granite was more than glad to do this, and maybe they would have done this without us asking, but maybe not.Finally, think twice about a spice drawer. Not tall enough for some things, and you can't see the names of the spices. Google "spice drawer" and you will find a lot of people discovered the same thing.Service:Remodeling

I understand I am just starting with a small closet job, but I have many closets so perhaps many more jobs.I went in and was given a brochure, described my space and was given one impression about price--- the most expensive one is x and your space is smaller than that so you should be able to get your space done for no more than the most expensive system in the brochure-- literally someone who worked there said this to me. Only to be given a quote for more than twice the price of the most expensive set up for a space twice the size of mine and also told the prices in brochure were out of date, it seemed like a bait and switch experience. I will go elsewhere, I prefer someone to be fair, honest and upfront.I hope this helps others understand what they can actually expect with this company.

Mary Lamm: We moved to Durham at the end of October of 2020. While we loved so many things about our new home, we quickly realized that we lacked sufficient storage space for our vacuum cleaner and attachments, mops, small stepladders and also our guest area had no linen closet. We had a large recessed area open coming in from the garage where many people put in a bench with hooks for coats above. But we decided to use that area to build in a closet for storage of all the articles I mentioned. Jesse helped us design it and came out to see the space and take measurements. Today Sukru installed the closet and also installed a cabinet in the guest bathroom which was sorely lacking in storage space. Sukru did a beautiful job and was meticulous in cleaning up the area after he finished. We are very pleased with the whole process.

Teresa Robertson: I should note that this review has nothing to do with craftsmanship and everything to do with customer service. Clearly a vast difference from the rest of reviews. I was just going to move on but I am very annoyed to have wasted the time.We started this process of getting our kitchen remodeled in November 2021. The gentleman came to our home to measure and promised us an estimate the first Friday of December 2021. That didn't happen. He said he was finishing up some projects and that he would send us an estimate soon. By this point, we were so close to Christmas I told him to not worry about it until the New Year. He stated that he was going out of the country and would get it to us as soon as he got back at the beginning of January 2022. It was like pulling teeth to get a response and after weeks he finally sent us a design plan and an estimate the last week of the month, but only after my husband intervened and refused to cc my on any of the emails. I told him we were ready to move forward. Complete silence. He never followed up with estimates for plumbing or flooring which he volunteered to do. He only responds to my husband's follow ups, which is odd (and comes off a little misogynistic), since I'm the one running this project. After nearly a month, my husband asked if he was still available to do the project he quickly responded; said he was, he just didn't see my emails, that he would take a look and get back to us. That's been weeks and still never has. Maybe in the future let the client know this is not the project for you instead of wasting everyones time. Including your own.

After meeting Jamie, I didn't need to go any further. He got us and gave us many options, consulting with us, not selling us. "What else do you hate about your kitchen" still resonates with me. He understood me. Samantha was phenomenal with giving us a 3D rendering and letting me make a change without any issue. She's great and kept us up to date on the schedule. Always pleasant and I never felt that I was an imposition. Next were Greg & Ryan. So adept at what they do and they did have challenges with our home. Jason Galarneau: I've been a Licensed General Contractor in NC since 1999, and before that worked as a Project Manager, for a national homebuilder for 2+ years, so I am very familiar with cabinets and those who supply and install them. Jameson Fine Cabinetry has done my last 3 homes, and without a doubt, has been the best cabinet vendor to date. From initial field layouts in the home, to drawings and pricing and finally to install and punch out, the systems in place at this company are fantastic. Communication is easy, and when there is a issue to resolve, it is handled quickly and properly. The quality of the cabinets sold, are not only identical to what I was paying more money to my last cabinet vendor, but in my opinion a notch or two better. I was surprised on the first install to find out that my kitchen doors had easy close hinges on them, an upgrade anywhere else in the market. If you're shopping around, as I was 9 months ago, for a cabinet company, give Jameson Fine Cabinetry a serious look, you won't be disappointed.

Samantha was so helpful in working with me to design exactly what I envisioned my butlers pantry to be. Keith Miller: This cabinet company is a Pretty Good Outfit. Allow yourself an Extra 1/2 hour if you have something to pickup. The workers are spread thin and try to get you the order you came for they are understaffed and Over worked....

Don Jewell: I am a subcontractor that builds these from flats. These are not bad cabinets but they are built overseas. Tolerances, quality control and consistency are my biggest gripes . Not true… the instructions provided in the distributor site need to be updated as they will cause you problems if you follow some of them. Using the proper stapler for instance on corner cabinets will blow right out of the side walls. Another example on the pantry’s That require pull outs the stiles need to be built in during installation …. Not terrible but not easy to secure the cabinet sides. The instructions for this procedure are sparse at best. Instructions on where to place support brackets become problematic when placing shelves. Braces should only be put in the upper and bottom corners and the rest of the face frame should just be stapled directly …. One nice thing is the drawer fronts are preassembled now. Please have someone update all the instructions on your website.Today we got a replacement cabinet with random boards in it. Upper corner cabinets are by far the worst design to build… be prepared to make it work however you can. Last but not least as much as people tout such great supporT, I have had the opposite experience. Of course this is as a subcontractor building these. Most of my questions are around manufacturer’s build intent. Good luck!

Susan: Not happy with the quality. Hard to clean and terrible construction.

Elizabeth Johnson: To make a very long story short - this company did not deliver the custom color we were expecting (after four tries they finally said green is impossible - sure, no one on Earth has green cabinets) so after weeks of delay we picked a different color. Cabinets delivered and installed only to find the paint flaked off. I could scratch it off with light pressure using my fingernail. Obviously no quality control. All other trades coming in behind were thrown off weeks waiting for those cabinets to be pulled out and replaced. The KCD VIP our contractor spoke to about the problems promised to reimburse our extended rental cost but did not come through. They left behind a gallon of paint for touch ups but it’s the wrong finish, and they left no touch up kit at all, so now we cannot fix the install nail holes. Likely having these repainted from scratch so all-in this company cost us ~$12k (rental plus repainting) on a $15K job. Run away from this “operation.”

Lauren Kimball: Update-cabinets are continuing to rapidly deteriorate due to softness and will look like junk before long. So disappointed in the biggest remodel expense we have done in our home.Find someone else to buy your cabinets from. I would leave 0 stars if google would let me. We remodeled our kitchen this summer, and have used our cabinets for approximately 2 months. There are already an unacceptable amount of dents, dings, and paint chips. After realizing on the very first day of use how very soft and poorly made these cabinets are, I have been extremely careful. If a dish bumps it at all going in or out, it leaves a mark. Our old cabinets had been in our kitchen since the 90s and these have more damage in 2 months of use than the old ones did in 25 years. I was hoping that KCD would stand behind their product, and was encouraged by my first conversation with a representative. However, after a couple days, I received an email from that representative that their leadership team determined that the damage was not manufacturing defects and they would not be offering any solutions other than sending a touch up kit and spray. A touch up kit is clearly necessary, but these cabinets will have to be replaced within a year or will just look terrible. KCD does not stand behind their product. Buying these cabinets is not worth the money you save. The quality is as cheap as the price. You will definitely get what you pay for. Also, you cannot replace just a door if there is damage they don’t cover. You actually have to purchase the entire cabinet. If you find a contractor that only uses this company, find another contractor because their work will likely be as subpar as the cabinets themselves.
