WakeMed Pediatric Endocrinology: what do users think?
Latarsha Bunn: Dr. Hillary Locke mere is a great doctor. She is friendly and knowledgeable and always take time to listen and manage your concerns.
Stephanie Gill: The worst experience in healthcare I’ve ever experienced. No live person to talk to, scheduling issues, staff not knowledgeable with different insurance companies, and SO MANY LOSE ENDS. Parents with newly diagnosed type 1 children please save yourself the stress and find another practice for your child.
Owen Clark: We have gotten great care from Dr. Lockemer and Wakemed Childrens Endocrinology for the last 8 years.
D. Y.: Have been calling for two weeks only to always have an answering machine answer but they never return my calls. Is anyone even working there? No one from other departments could give me an answer either. Just gonna have my pediatrician refer my child somewhere else.
Keith S.: Great service and all, but that number needs to connect to real people, most of the options to call direct take you straight to a automated voice mail which does not help.
Ashley A: We have had a wonderful experience with Dr Lagarde. We will continue to see him. He is friendly and thorough.

Duke Endocrinology at Brier Creek: what do users think?
Rene Vanek: The staff here is really great-especially the admins, they are so nice and funny. Clean facility.
Lynda Purcell: Tried for 45 minutes to call my dr
Charles Mclamb: My diabetes was getting out of control and was spiraling downhill before I was referred to Dr. Barnosky at this location earlier this year. My A1C level has gone down from a 12 to a 7.2. She is an excellent doctor and I believe has perhaps extended my life. I wish I could give 10 stars to her and the professional staff at Duke Endocrinology. I recommend anyone who has bad sugar needs to see this Endocrinologist if they want to improve their quality of life. Thank you so much!
L R Dyke: Diabetes Clinic 10207 Cerny St #306, Raleigh, NC 27617
Mike Nilsson: I was really impressed with this clinic. They were courteous, thorough, and efficient. Thank you!
Chris Fonck: Made an initial appt for a scope (in July) that was for 2 months out because it was the first opening. Now just called to reschedule and the next opening is in December. This is Aug 11th! Good thing this is not somewhat serious. Or could be depending on results of scope, which I would need to wait an additional 4 months for. Yikes
Wenhong Cao: I tried to cancel my appointment with this clinic by phone. But, I was on hold forever every time until I had to hang up. After 3 tries on different days, I finally got to talk to someone and had it canceled. I could have just kept the appointment without showing up. What kind of service is that?Wenhong Cao

Carolina Endocrine PA: what do users think?
Heather Miller: Edit: I have to join the others in reporting that I cannot get an appointment or prescription refill as no one will answer the phone or return messages. What a scary feeling to be part of a practice that you cannot contact and your care being dependent on it.Came from another endocrine practice where I was getting lost in the numbers and this practice was very welcoming and personable. I had their attention and focus, there were just a few patients being seen at once, and they only ordered the tests I absolutely needed. For bloodwork, there is a non-busy labcorp in the parking lot. Can't (but can!) wait to be back for continued care here!
Shannon Draper: Over the past several months the customer care has been unprofessional and unsafe. They did not return calls or messages in the portal in any reliable or consistent way for over 2 months. They haven't scheduled appts based on their own medical plan and when someone finally called back the new practice manager was dismissive and disrespectful. They claimed they lost power for several weeks and had no access to patient records but sent me a letter saying I needed to update my contact info (my contact info hadn't changed). I would not recommend getting care here until they are able to provide professional consistent care.
Jonathon B.: Terribly unresponsive. My spouse can not get anyone to actually call in a refill for a prescription or return a call.
Roman Shaikat: Worst of the worst practice center I have ever visited. They took a week to send my wife's prescription to the local store and no one pickup our phone. They doesn't have required stuffs and only one doctor their.
Redoyan Rian: Don't just go there if you don't want to waste your time and money. They don't have enough stuffs and their is only one doctor.
Roman Al Saikat: If there is a way to give them negative review, I should give them -5. We scheduled an appointment for my wife with the doctor and during appointment they said there would be a fees of around 270-300$. Once we went their to see the doctor, there was a nurse practitioner who came and consult with my wife. When we asked for the doctor, they said the entire center has only one doctor and if we want to see him, we have to wait for at least two hours. Then we asked them, why should we pay 300$ to see a nurse practitioner instead of a doctor? They said, this is how they managed the center and I am still not understanding how does this can be happen. The practitioner prescribed my wife two medicine and she was supposed to send the request to our local medicine center in the same day that she didn't. We then tried to contact the center and the practitioner to send the medicine request and it took a week to get her in the line. No one was picking our phone. After couple of months, they sent us a bill of 403$. I can't still accept this dishonesty.
Shelly: I wouldn't be able to write this review if it weren't for Dr. Thomas. He literally saved my life! I had been dismissed by other doctors for years. Nobody ran proper tests. Nobody listened to me. Dr. Thomas knew exactly what to do and I finally feel like ME again. His staff are always friendly and smiling. Dr. Thomas is always friendly and smiling. I always leave smiling, even on my roughest days. Thank you, Dr. Thomas!!
Dana Albert: STAY FAR AWAY.. they don't have competent enough staff to answer the phone or return voice-mail. I have left them 3 messages and have tried calling, oh I dunno at least 50 times in the last 3 weeks, with absolutely no way of getting through outside of going to the office. Oh I'll be going there but only to request my medical records and be done with them. This is the absolutely worst office I have ever dealt with in my entire life. PEOPLE ON MEDICATION FOR THEIR THYROID CANNOT MISS DOSES. I CANNOT GET THROUGH TO YOU AND MY PHARMACY WILL NOT REFILL MY PRESCRIPTION. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE.
Rebecca Barry: Hopefully this will reach other patients. There is no office staff here at the moment. You need to send your provider a message or stop by in person.I wish they had this listed on their website! You also can't leave a voicemail and emails do not get returned (because no staff).
Dolly Cannon: The phone system is not working, nor does anyone respond to an email. I am going by there today to reschedule my clinic appointment from last week and reschedule my appointment with the PO for this week. I sent three emails last week and and called 4 time with no answer or availability to leave a voice mail. I just called now and voice mail message is full, so cannot leave a voicemail again.
Tammy Smith: Dr Thomas has always been good. But no one answers a phone and you can’t leave a message because the box is full. A order was supposed to have been put in for my bloodwork to be done a week before my apt or they won’t see me. No order has been put in and they had a whole year to do it in and the lab tried numerous times to contact them and only received recordings and no way to leave a message. I called 19 times on Monday, 11 times on Tuesday. No response and no way to leave a message. I can’t afford a 73 mile round trip to tell them they have not put in my lab order. This is the third year in a row this has happened.
shane glass: The medical treatment we received was excellent. However, we’ve had to cancel subsequent appointments due to the inability to get a hold of anybody to resolve a referral issue. It seems they outsource their billing and nobody answers the phone and all the voicemail box is full and all the extensions are unavailable. I have attempted to resolve issues with this business for over a month and short of going in person, there doesn’t seem to be a mechanism for resolution.
Bianca Sobral: 7 years ago, I gave this place a 5-star rating. The quality went down significantly during the pandemic, and I get that. It's the reason I've given them 3 years to improve before changing my rating.I am sympathetic to the labor shortage, but I also see several doctors and specialists where I don't see these issues:1. Calls straight to voicemail anytime you try to follow-up on your lab results during working hours.2. Two or more days wait to return calls (today will be a whole week).Anyone with a thyroid disorder will agree that when your TSH levels are off, it affects every area of your life. It's clear that Carolina Endocrine does not empathize with their patients. If anyone has a good Endocrinologist in the area, let me know. The Google reviews for everyone else in Raleigh look just as bad, unfortunately.Review from 7 years ago:Visiting Carolina Endocrine was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Dr. Ellie and Michael Thomas are absolutely stellar! Professional, knowledgeable, and caring. My thyroid is finally manageable after 10 years of struggling with low energy levels and weight gain. I have already lost 16 lbs since my last visit, and this is only the beginning!
Brittney Howe: I can only speak for myself, but if you have a very intricate issue that isn't straight forward, I wouldn't put my care in this clinic. I have been fighting for years trying to get them to do the proper testing for my thyroid, and recently they outright refused. My experience is that the staff is friendly and accomidating, but I have not seen an actual doctor in years, and the PA's I've seen don't listen to very real concerns that are braught forward. I truly hope that no one else is ignored or treated the way that I have been.
Leah Ni: If i could give a -0 stars i would. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE SPECIFICALLY Erin Wetherill, PA-C. She clearly only see patients that has normal levels of thyroid or she does not posses any knowledge for endocrinology. For a specialist to tell me to see a primary care doctor or OBGYN for low thyroid levels / hyperthyroidism when she herself is the "specialist" and was refer by my primary care doctor because that is her wheelhouse. For Erin to call herself a PA to help others is a joke. This is beyond laziness and neglect. What kind of patient care are you giving? You are the specialist, primary care doctors refer out because this is your job. For you to not take accountability is just failure on her part as a health care professional. If she does not want to see a patient within her field, please reconsider your profession. My blood is boiling as I type this, to hear that statement out of a specialist. Clearly my case is too advance for her to handle and she has no experience or knowledge on how to do her job so she refer me out to my primary care doctor. If she cannot handle my case, then she needs to refer me to an actual doctor that knows what they are talking about. I would not be blasting this review if she had said, please see another practice because there's nothing I can do. But for a specialist to dismiss a concern that she is trained to do and tell me to see my primary care is a joke. Both my fertility doctor and primary care doctor specially told me I need to follow up with my endocrinologist because my TSH level are once again low (happened twice). I will give every negative review in every avenue to voice this poor excuse of care provided. What a shame for someone like this to be in practice.
SYLVIA DANIELS: Great office and staff. Always quick to respond to my messages or calls. Good follow up. Friendly front desk staff which always starts appointment out on a good note.
Gilbert Kennard: Dr Thomas and his entire team have been taking GREAT care of me for almost twenty years and everyone has always been professional, polite and genuinely interested in my health and well being. They’re the BEST!!!
Madison Mize: Meg, the Referral Coordinator is an absolute rock star! She is so kind, easy to talk to, and cares about her work and the people she encounters. What is really refreshing, is she sounds excited to hear from you, and her turn around time is so quick! Switching doctors and healthcare networks is usually a draining and tedious task, and she has made it so easy and reassured my concerns along the way. I am excited to join this practice.
Kimberly Prince: What an amazing staff! Thanks to her caring, sympathetic and understanding nature, Meg was able to get me an appt within 3 days (other offices would have been a month or two). Megha (the PA) was very kind and very thorough. Dr Thomas was impressive. He had no notes in front of him and was able to discuss the issues with me thoroughly. Thank you all so much!
RitaH: I just had to take the time to write a review for Meg - the New Patient Coordinator. She went above and beyond, and somehow found a way to get my daughter an appointment even though they were totally booked. I was very concerned about my daughter, and Meg was so understanding. I could tell she truly cared, and she took the time to talk to the doctor and get back to me about an immediate concern. She called me back several times and just really helped me through a scary time. Meg is great!! So is everyone at the office.
Robinson Fulwood: I am advent walker, but had been began experiencing episodic lower back pain for several years—a CTSCAN revealed that I had bone degenerating in my sacrum—I was referred to Carolina Endocrine for an evaluation given other associated issues. When I arrived I was surprised to find that the PA, Ms. Kamalkar and Dr. Thomas had already reviewed my medical records thoroughly. I met with Ms. Kamalkar first. She was both caring and quite knowledgeable about the possible underlying causes of my issue. We then meet with Dr. Thomas, who provided much more medical details about my condition and ordered further scans to verify the possible cause of my specific problem. He was very professional, but also showed sensitivity to my fears and concerns—so our interaction was very positive. In the end, my issue was identified and I received the appropriate treatment for my underlying bone degeneration issue. I found that Dr. Thomas and Ms. Kamalkar are concerned about the “whole patient” and I was very thankful for extended time they took to help me return to my normal lifestyle. Rob F.

Corey D. Berlin, MD: what do users think?
Brea Vasquez: Dr. Berlin is phenomenal! He is thorough and thoughtful and it is a breathe of fresh air to not feel rushed during a medical visit. He took the time to explain all of my options and differentiate what each treatment plan would mean for me. His knowledge made me feel confident and optimistic. The staff members were also extremely kind and helpful throughout my visit. Thank you Raleigh Endocrine & Dr. Berlin!
deborah flynn: Love love love Dr. Berlin - he is professional and interested, he asked a lot of questions and I felt he was truly trying to understand my medical issues. Plus he is fun and positive to be around, just a wonderful experience!
stephanie shaffer: Dr. Berlin was recommended by a colleague and I was very pleased with my first visit. I was seen promptly and every person with whom I came into contact was kind and professional. Dr. Berlin took time to talk with me and answer all my questions.
Ken Wheeler: Dr Berlin and his staff are always very responsive to my needs.Even with the ongoing staffing issues everyone is facing. Thanks to the whole team.
Robert Cop: New to the area my wife was in dire need of an Endocrinologist, she settled on Dr. Berlin and from start to finish it has been a nightmare. Her first appointment was over an hour and a half late. Ignoring that she has been asking for him and his nurse to re-fill her meds for two weeks of which they have not returned her calls or had the decency to give her an update. It has been a unprofessional experience from start to finish. Avoid this practice.
Jennifer King: I give a five-star review because the professionalism of the office staff is outstanding. Dr. Corey Berlin is warm, caring and thorough with an excellent "bedside manner" which is what is needed in the health care industry today. He took his time with me and did not rush through the appointment which I truly appreciate. I can see why the staff is kind and caring working with someone like Dr. Berlin. From the front office to the nurse and other staff working alongside of Dr. Berlin, to the ladies who assisted me at check out, the whole team helped make the experience positive and their friendliness left a good impression. This includes the ladies in the lab too!In this day and age everyone needs kindness, and we should let others know when we receive great customer service. Thank you to the Raleigh Endocrinology Team and Dr. Berlin...YOU ALL SHINE! Keep up the great customer service. You are a blessing.
Tom Croyle: Not working after treatment
Jen T: I hesitated in posting this because I understand people are humans and we make mistakes but I feel like I should be honest to possibly help someone else save their time and look elsewhere. Dr. Berlin is very knowledgeable and friendly. I was referred to him by a family friend. To make a long story short, after several visits and blood tests that spanned from July-Oct of 2021 (with excruciating joint pain and fatigue), the doc lost his last visit notes on me. The visit that summed up my prognosis, and how he was going to diagnose and treat my symptoms. I was ready to finally be on some sort of medication to treat my health concerns that was ruining my quality of life, but was met with a request to come back for another blood test in 3 months. He didn't remember me from Adam and even tried to refer me to his wife's clinic. I left the office crying and frustrated. To add: Every visit was AT LEAST an hour wait. Even if you book his very first appointment of the day. I don't know if it was because of my young age but I always felt like I was always put at the bottom of the list (literally - one day I was the last patient to be seen with the lights going out even though I booked my appt for 3:45pm).
Delanie Brown: Dr. Berlin is a good doctor. He listens to his patients and considers your entire medical history, family history, and concerns before making a diagnosis. Great bedside manner. The nurses, Ann and Keisha are also very kind and helpful. The lab technicians responsible for bloodwork, Cathy and Michael are also very thorough and knowledgeable. You can tell they are well-trained and have been doing their job for years. Overall, the energy of the staff is great. Some of the receptionists could use some training, but no office is perfect.
Michele Drevenak: Dr. Berlin is a compassionate and thoughtful doctor. He spends the time with you to listen and explain your treatment. I appreciate his time.
Maria Scheel: Dr. Berlin is incredibly knowledgeable and I am so thankful for his care. I love that he listens to my concerns and takes his time with me at every visit. Finding the right doctor can be a process so I realize how lucky I am to have found him. I highly recommend anyone looking for an endocrinologist who actually cares about his patients to see Dr. Berlin.
micayla Mcgee: A horrible experience from start to finish. I came to Dr. Berlin with an already established diagnosis. He made it very clear that because my diagnosis was so rare, he knew very little about it and “we would learn about this together”. This made me wary from the beginning, as to the fact I was not looking for a medical provider to learn WITH rather than looking for a doctor that would help guide me through my diagnosis. I decided to take the leap with him and from there, he ordered THIRTEEN blood tests at one time “to be as thorough as possible”. After more visits, Dr. Berlin’s nurses failed to even order one of my MANDATORY prescriptions needed for another one of his required tests. He completely forgot to go over an MRI (the whole reason why I came to him in the first place) and seemed to be convinced I had underlying diseases which I had no other symptoms for. When bringing all of these issues to his attention, never in my LIFE would I have thought the outcome of a concerned patient- would be that of a health professional yelling at me and my spouse. I wish I were exaggerating when I state that my spouse and I were yelled at. Dr. Berlin was quick to raise his voice and tell us that our concerns were never made aware to him and his nurses were never in contact about these issues… which raises the concern of how well this staff communicates with one another. He also had the audacity to tell my spouse that his opinion was WRONG for feeling like we were not a priority, and asking him “are you so good at your job that you’re not allowed to make mistakes?”. Mistakes are allowed to be made. Yes. We are all human. But as a health “professional”, you should be able to take ownership and criticism without verbally assaulting his patients. Dr. Berlin then went on to try and immediately end the meeting telling us this was a waste of his time and he had no issue releasing us out of his care. I told him that I wasn’t going anywhere without my test results. This has been the worst experience with a health professional I have ever witnessed. Patient care should not be “mistakes slipped through the cracks”, or “fires being put out” (direct quotes from Dr. Berlin)… I shouldn’t feel like an inconvenience, a burden, or a test guinea pig. My health matters. My thoughts and concerns matter. My opinion matters. Even if this high tempered man doesn’t believe the same. No patient should ever feel belittled or cornered by someone that you are supposed to trust with your well being. Unfortunately, that is exactly how I felt while in his care.
Alexandria A Daniels: I’ve just begun treatment with Dr. Berlin, I originally scheduled an appointment with him because I wanted a second opinion on how to treat my hyperthyroidism. I was immediately relieved after talking with him just for a few minutes and hearing how he thinks outside of the box and makes it personal. I’m so much more comfortable proceeding with treatment or surgery because he explains everything in detail and keeps you involved. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Berlin and I look forward to working with him over the next year or so.
mickey kavanagh: Dr. Berlin is simply the BEST! I have been to 4 other endocrinologists and none of them could diagnose or figure out what was going on. I went to him with severe thyroid disease so bad I couldn’t even get out of bed. He listened, he heard what I said about having medication sensitivity. He did bloodwork no one did before, he went slow with my treatment to make sure my body took to the medication. He does follow ups frequently to check levels so you have the best chance of healing. I can’t tell you how much better I feel and it’s all due to his diagnostic abilities and how much he cares. Not only is he a good doctor, but he’s such a relatable person and shares conversations with you just like an old friend! I’ve recommended to many friends and neighbors with full confidence that he can help them.
Niti Ashar: I love seeing Dr. Berlin at this office - he is always kind, listens to me, and shares personal stories about his family that helps me relate to him as a provider. I always look forward to coming to my visits and feel as though he as helped me incredibly. Thank you to all of the staff and Dr. Berlin! - Naima
Haley Glick: **I hope Dr. Berlins office/family/medical board see this review because he should NOT be allowed to practice medicine** I work at a doctors office and know how detrimental bad reviews can be so I'm typically not the type to leave a negative review but since I went with this practice because of the positive reviews and was let down I figured I would warn any new patients looking for care. I saw Dr. Berlin and while his nurse was amazing and beyond sweet, he was HORRIBLE and I don't mean that lightly. I went to him post cancer treatments with many symptoms leading to an endocrine issue. The first appointment he spend trash talking his family and life while writing down my symptoms in between complaining. He didn't go over anything with me just sent me for lab work and wrote me off. I blew it off and figured maybe he was having a bad day as we ALL do at some point. Lab work came back and I went in for a follow up appointment. The whole appointment was spent talking about his upcoming beach trip for the holidays and how unhappy he was having to go. Not ONCE talking about what my lab work could mean regarding the symptoms I was experiencing. This was now the second time he treated my appointment like he was at the bar with a friend. I was fed up but agreed to do some more lab work. As we were wrapping up the appointment with the nurse and him he began trash talking the NEXT PATIENT he was seeing. Talking about another patient WITH ME, using her by name and discussing her medical care. THIS IS BREAKING ALL HIPPA VIOLATIONS YOU CAN BREAK! One of the other nurses even heard him and made a comment about him breaking HIPPA. My next lab results came back "normal" and he blew me off. Dismissing all the symptoms I had. Thank you for NOTHING Dr. Berlin. I hope you see this and turn your practice around.
malibu1966: Dr. Berlin is very personable, professional and caring. He always answers the questions a clear answer provides good feedback.
Phyllis Wade: Very attentive to my health concerns.
Carolee Poythress: Great office and staff , very nice , efficient . Dr Berlin does above and beyond for his patients, take his time with you and goes over everything in detail. Highly recommend .
Edward Propst: Could not have been any better
Victor Jones: Provides exceptional service, and shows he cares more about the patient's health than making a dollar.
