Deirdre Baker: Our ONLY go to for fresh seafood when we are in Raleigh! In fact, we preordered Salmon and Yellowfin Tuna for mother's day! They were both fantastic! The pick up folks are so friendly. When I have needed to contact Madden's about an order prior to pick up, they are very responsive! I would highly recommend preordering and tasting this wonderful seafood as often as you can! Pick up is Friday or Saturday!

It’s like a produce stand but with the freshest seafood you’ve ever had away from the beach. I’ve had grouper, tuna, triggerfish, crab, you name it, all fresh and delicious. And they make it very easy to see online what’s available and place an order for pickup. I love these guys. There’s no reason to buy seafood anywhere else!

When I took them back, the owner was disgusted and screamed from across the store “Mam these aren’t frozen” He also stated he’s been doing this since he was 12. I’ve been cooking fish for a long time and know the difference. The meat was very crumbly and drier, instead of very moist. There was a very dry, meaningless apology when I was handed the bag. He didn’t ask how I wanted my replacement product cut and offered an even exchange of product. There wasn’t any consideration of over an hour of my time, inconvenience and wasted gas. This was my last time patronizing this business.

Ketura Hyman: During my vacation in North Carolina we were looking for a place to get live crabs. We found this place during a Google search and called for a price and quantity. We were told he would be closing in 20 minutes. Being 11 minutes away we figured we could make it. We arrived at exactly 20 minutes to a closed shop. The owner who was sitting in his vehicle saw us go up to the door and tug in disappointment. He flagged us down , opened the store up for us and proceeded to give us the crabs we wanted. The store was nicely cleaned and the crabs were still alive and a good size. We were even given a free pack of seafood boil seasoning for the road. Unfortunately, i didnt get the owners name but we will be back.

Ruined a fine risotto with roasted red pepper and orange & lemon zest.Can't call to complain because lack of staff leaves them with no one to answer the phone. Was advised to come visit the location with concerns. BLEEP!!! I'm supposed to drive 40 miles each way and burn $15 of gas to tell them that they sold me inferior product.The positive outcome was that the raccoons seemed to enjoy the meal immensely.Needless to say I won't be going back.

We've been loyal customers of yours and are committed to supporting our natural resources and our watermen. We will be reevaluating our decision to support your business in the future given your vocal opposition to necessary and sensible resource management, which is critical if we hope for our children and future generations to have the opportunity to enjoy the resources we're so fortunate to have.Update: We decided to give Locals another shot, notwithstanding their opposition to sensible catch limits, as we are dedicated to supporting local watermen (gender neutral). I ordered a bag of 100 little neck clams last weekend. When I picked them up I noticed two were broken despite the employee’s proclamation that “these are beautiful clams.” I asked about the dig date, which they eventually told me was a full 10 days(!) prior to them being sold to me. I was quite hesitant to take the clams, as 10 days is really too long for them to be sitting out on ice. But I had preordered them and felt obliged to buy them, so I did so. That was a mistake. Once I got home and started to rinse them off I found that 8 clams were broken or already open (dead). Another 2 clams did not open when I cooked them that night, indicating they had died prior to cooking. That makes a full 10% of the bag lost due to spoilage. If you’re looking for fresh, good quality seafood - look elsewhere.

Brown Bomber: I keep wanting to support Black Owned Businesses BUT, this establishment continues to disappoint with very poor customer service, dirty and unsanitary practices, and UNFRESH FISH! The fish here smells! I've called ahead of time and asked if the Croaker was fresh, and I was told by a male on the phone that they were fresh. I get to the place and as I enter the place, it reeks of spoiled fish. So, reluctantly I purchased my items get them home and opened them and it was the Croaker that had very strong odor, in addition to them being previously FROZEN and not cleaned very well (scales all over). The young man who cleaned them did not seem to be experienced with cutting & cleaning. As, some of the fish was butchered. I WILL NOT GO BACK! The better alternatives in the area are:1. I wasn't gonna do coleslaw because I didn't see any pepper but it was good. Fries are good ;if you have BP challenges request no salt or seasoning on fries. I liked the Mamba sauce. My Honey and I shared a platter. For $ 7.57 we got 2 pieces of whiting, fries, coleslaw, and a slice of bread. In general the prices are good. They didn't have wild caught salmon which I was looking for. We went on a Tuesday.

chrissy givens: I’ve came in here a few times to buy fresh crab legs. Today decided to try the fish sandwich combo for only $7. It was so good & fresh. Even the lemonade was to die for!! Will definitely be back. Great customers service too. Lady at the counter was very pleasant

Please note, when we first started out we served seafood primarily from North Carolina and surrounding areas. But with current shortages it has now become very challenging with many of our items extremely hard to get in today’s conditions as well as the stricter regulations on NC fisherman. We try our hardest to use NC products when they’re available, domestic products as our next option, and we only use imported products when absolutely necessary.
