ECPI University: what do users think?
gk. farr: PLEASE if you read this review before thinking about applying…DON’T. The education they offer is beyond mediocre for the over $40,000 tuition they charge. All your books are online and the scrubs they offer are the cheapest cotton, germ collecting fabric they could find. If you are not good with teaching yourself this is NOT the program for you. I am currently in the RN program and can count on one hand the amount of good teachers I’ve had. The assistant director of the program is not personable at all, leading me to wonder how good she was as a nurse herself because I definitely would not want her taking care of my family. The program is unorganized, for example having us go to clinicals at WakeMed but we could not do ANYTHING but take vital signs for our 12 hr clinical there because we had yet to take pharmacology, leaving us to stare at walls around the hospital. It becomes clear that just to meet state standards when it comes to class and clinical hours they just give us busy work and could care LESS about the effort they put into this program. Again is you are reading this please explore other options, this one is not worth it.
Maria Gonzalez: Fire Dr. Acevedo and this may be a decent nursing school! This instructor is abusive towards students and shouldn't be an instructor let alone a nurse.
Rob Coates: The instructors and curriculum all seem great, and for those who can afford school or have a way to pay a for-profit school this seems great. Unfortunately, I was misled when applying by financial aid, then kind of forgotten very easily after I took a break due to work schedule stress and just given the bill I thought had my Pell Grant applied, but it never did. When I requested further details, they did not remember me, despite multiple in-person meetings and a situation that is unique and took some working on. To me, as someone who has rarely not stood out usually for bad and sometimes for good, if I was forgotten so easily like a numbered student, they clearly are more sales like than truly caring because it is not a state school. Like any sales people, they'll do what works to get you in, to make money, but I'm not sure if the admin care as much as the teachers about whether we succeed once they can bill us, at least not for our sakes. That's how the whole process and situation made me feel in the end. The convenience of year-round classes and accelerated degrees does not trump that when it isn't cheap and the aid I was granted was never applied anyway so now I'm stuck with more student debt I never should have received.
Jacklyn Gonzalez: I think ECPI is a great school. I’m a current student and my experience has been great. My advisor Asen is the best and my instructors so far have been amazing!
Kimberley Knott: Almost done with the practical nursing program. I want to return for my RN, but unsure. The school has potential, such as real labs, up to date lab equipment, lots of resources for nursing students, etc. but they are grossly understaffed and disorganized. it might just be nursing school in general, and not this school itself, but I don't know. The other nursing schools in the area seem more organized, probably because they are limited entry, and ECPI is not. you will start with 20-30 students and graduate with 5, but I hate that the instructors and the directors of the nursing programs then have to put the time and effort into 30 students each cohort, when only 1/4 of them are actually serious about school and actually graduate. The NCLEX pass rate is very high, and that's probably because not many people actually end up graduating and taking the NCLEX, and those who do are obviously committed. my tuition was $30,000 but it doesn't feel like I am getting my educations worth in that. the winner for me personally was that they offer evening classes for the LPN program (and others not in nursing). I would be doing my RN somewhere else if not for the evening class option.
Destine2bYounique: Considering going to ECPI for nursing and the open house was amazing...The staff was very pleasant and welcoming
Shamien Peterson: This school is ridiculous, I was in the ADN program with 7-8 mos left trying to reassign myself back in the course reached out to the DON and NEVER responded back for me to start the communication at this school lacks terribly!
Mike Taylor: I would not give any school a 5. All schools have much room for improvement. That said, ECPI is a wonderful environment for someone who: 1-can devote time to the hands on labs, 2- can engage in the content with some passion and 3- doesn't have too many personal distractions. Instructors are caring and support staff are good at what do.
Bubbles 93: This school has racism going on black teachers like Tiffany Langley against white students and don’t really know how to teach so keep your money and go to another school. Because apparently most of them don’t respect white students but we all bleed the same if it was a white teacher being racist towards a black student then it would be a different story this is sad just saying do better.
Donnie Brown: Attended the open house tour and it was a great experience. Looking forward to the next steps in the process.
Demonte Mills: Loved my experience with the representatives of ECPI. But, after a year or two of me not going with them due to financial situations I got a call from them— asking if I was someone I wasn’t. I was confused and then said. No- but I was interested at one point-“ and before I could even finish my sentence I was rudely hung up on. The person who talked with me was Trina. The old recruiter/director Charles was amazing. Trina is not a professional representative for ECPI.
Barbara Thornton: Instructors here are extremely supportive and helpful!
Savannah D: Don't waste your time to attend ECPI. Staff is rude, never helpful, cannot communicate, and advisors don't even know what they do within their job description. Even teachers don't bother to even TRY to help. And They don't care about you, the whole "pause and come back if you need to" scenario means you get dropped, get a failing grade, and then have to re-register. They all seem like they were thrown into a job title and told to figure it out as they go even if they have to lie to get you signed up just to say you now owe them money. They never even processed financial aid even though I did it four times. Plus someone from ECPI will call everyday, several times just to "check in." Absolute WORST school experience! It was way too much hassle just to be able to do it online. Seriously, DON'T DO IT.
Holly Galbreath: Waste of time and money.
Keshia C.: Nice staff
Breanna: Very good experience
Abriel L.: DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If you catch COVID they don’t care about you. They will set you back and continue to take your money. They will make you retake classes even if it’s not your fault. I graduated from here but my sister and husband has had a very hard time with this school. They almost didn’t let my sister finish after she had COVID and my husband is suppose to be finished by May but set him back to September because he had COVID as well. They are not on your side at all. They just want your money!
Meron Alem: VERY COMPLICATED/UNPROFESSIONAL/ SCHOOL!!!
don harris: Love it
Larrisa Lowers: Be very careful it’s all a scam to take your money !This was the worst school I have ever been to the director is so rude and some of the the teachers are worse ! I wish I would have never went to this school !
Jasmine S: As a current ADN student now. I would not recommended the RN program in Raleigh. The instructors keep quitting, there is no consistency. The director is very rude to students, very forgetful, and will blame you for her mistakes. Not saying the ECPI as a whole is bad, I received my LPN from ECPI Charlotte and it was nothing like this. I am already quite invested obviously, but I wouldn't recommend anyone come to this program until there are major MAJOR changes. And this is not due to COVID, that is an excuse they like to throw around. But COVID doesn't change your behavior and how you treat your students.
