I literally brought a Guess Lap top bag from them nearly 1 month ago for school, for 140.00 and when I took it back to resell it to them they offered me a whopping $6 for it. Heck naw...you gotta be kidding me..then gonna turn around and resell it again for 100 and some dollar. I talked to the manager of the store and she literally said..they had to pay for overhead and air-conditioning...after showing her my bank transaction on how much I paid for it and questioning the measly $6 offer. I WILL ENCOURAGE NO ONE TO SHOP From HERE OR SELL TO HERE. The staff is very non shalance as well. Anywho....thats my experience here and it looks like plenty of others 😔
Unique Broughton: I had dropped off two bags of clothes, one pair of tennis shoes and one pair of sandals in good condition never been worn.When I went back to pick up my items the young lady at the front desk was very polite, as she handed me my cash in exchange for my items which were the tennis shoes and sandals that were both in good condition she hands me $7 dollars, I took the $7 that was handed to me at the time I thought just for the shoes and went to pick up my other items they didn’t want, I realized my sandals were not in the box on top of one of the two boxes I was taking back with me.I asked the young lady where were my sandals and she grabbed the black bin to show me they were in there with the shoes now she didn’t mention anything about the sandals being included with the $7 which I must say was not a reasonable exchange.I got my items handed over the $7 back and left the store.Why I’m i saying all this , because I need you all to pay attention to how many items you have in your bags before dropping them off and make sure they show your everything in the bin they are keeping and paying you for.Have an awesome day 😊Happy Friday
camryn reid .: terrible place for selling clothes , very stingey and only takes certain clothes ( shein ) not good quality clothing items ( american egale , areopostale , hollister ) and never buy for good prices either. i recommend uptown cheapstake.
Jessica Cannon: The worst Plato's Closet I have ever been to. I have been multiple times with 50+ items (all in good condition, some new with tags, name brand - Free People, Zara, Urban, etc.) and they constantly take less than 5 of my items. When I ask why they take so little, they say my items are old or out of style. However, the items they do take from me are arguably the worst things I bring in. Do NOT go here. You have better luck selling online.
Parker Anthony: this was the biggest waste of time. the employees lost my items and did not even put my name in the system! the manager did not have a clue what was going on and had me look for my own clothes because they were “somewhere over there.” i came in within 15 minutes of opening and was told that i could come back in 2 hours. i called 3 times after the 2 hours until i finally had enough. i came in and they did not know where my clothes were, did not have my name in the system and did not have a care in the world that they lost my clothes. after 15 minutes of looking myself i found my clothes and was told they didn’t want to take anything. they were awful about communicating when the clothes were done as well. i received no text message and each call was the same response, “20 more minutes.” this is the biggest waste of time and there was no room to even walk in the store. i WILL NEVER go here again.
Justin Light: This place is literally a marked up goodwill, styles are not up to date at all. Needs new management, unwelcoming staff & unorganized store. Don’t know what happened to this place but wow.
Omar Peraza: Horrible Plato store! This store use to be the best Platos in the entire area but has down due to the staff they choose and their practices. Took in a 60 Gallon tote full of clothes with the bottom half full of name branded clothes. Some of it brand new too. I dropped it off around 10:30ish and they told me it would be 45 mins to hour which was fine. I drove back to work which was ten mins and they sent me a text saying my items were ready. I turned back around and picked up my items. Not surprisingly they passed on al the items due to “ items not being newer clothes” then she recommended i go to clothes mentor. Mind you from the most recent reviews this has been on ongoing issue with this store. Tell me how the worker was able to check 60 plus items within 8 mins?? That tells me she didnt even look through it. I could tell because the clothes was in the tote just like k had left it. Its a shady practice and pretty sad tbh. They are hiring these lazy, stuck up younger kids who do not have the urge to work. I use to take clothes here all the time and the people would actually go through every piece or clothing and inspect it. Now they just look at top and say no. The girls already were going through another bag of clothes when i got there but magically got my items done in between? Mind you they will buy any expensive busted shoes from you for ten dollars and sell for $65.00 plus! Its disgusting that Platos is allowing their managers and employees run their store this way. I see why the pay for employees at this store is low. Low pay for Low end service and lazy workers. Management needs to be looked into as well being that she was there and doesnt address any issues. Please people stay away from these store. Go down the street to clothes mentor or uptown cheapstake. They will actually go through clothes. I had ralph, nike, new york and company, and other name branch stuff in the tub that i know they didnt check. Go to Brier Creek instead they do a better job at checking along with Cary .

I have gone six times I believe…not a single time that I have gone have they ever bought more than two items from me. I just cannot figure out what it is they actually buy. Today, for example, I brought in American Eagle jeans, NWT Anthropologie items, lots of men’s stuff (they always said they are really in need of men’s), Madewell tanks and jeans, On Cloud running shoes, Free People denim skirts, lots of pink and red items for V-Day coming up soon, brand new Vera Bradley purses, and plenty more. They did not want a SINGLE item of any of this. What really upsets me even more is that I realized a good portion of my items had NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT! They were still rolled nicely in the bottom of my bin the same way I had put them there, same order and everything.If I am going to take the time to gather and launder a lot of stuff, drive it there, wait two hours for it to be ready, they could AT LEAST look at everything before telling me they don’t want any of it. I will not ever be wasting my time again at this location
Ellen Weiss: I love this Plato's. I've been a Plato's junkie for many years and have been to lots of them in several states. This is a good one. Plenty of good quality selection, and unless it's late after a busy Saturday, it's tidy and organized. I've probably been here 20 or 30 times over the years when I lived nearby, and still come back pretty much every time I come back to Raleigh!

KARI HUNSAKER: Normally i have a great experience at this store, but today was not the case. In full disclosure, I wanted to return an item, never worn, i had the tag on. I did not purchase it on clearance. When I walked in, i said i wanted to return it. Immediately, i was told that it was a clearance item and all sales are final. I said, i purchased this shirt at full price. After looking it up, they found that i purchased the item 3 months ago, past their 60 day return policy. I understand this is their policy, and i have no problem adhering to the policy. It was how I was treated. I wasn't welcomed, and it felt like I was at the DMV, not Torrid.
Rieneke Farrow: If I could, I would give this no stars. I just walked into this location and none of the THREE employees acknowledged my presence. They continued their conversation as if I wasn't there. I walked right by them and was tempted to say hello just so that they'd have to acknowledge me but I refrained. Not even 3 minutes later, other customers (of a lighter skin tone) walked in and were immediately greeted and offered assistance. I walked out, past all three employees, with still no acknowledgement. You obviously need help from the fact that the last two times I attempted to visit this location, it was closed. But maybe train your employees to have better customer service. I'll never be back and will tell everyone I know why.
Lauren King: I've only had great experiences at this location. Whenever I needed to pick up an order or exchange an item, the staff here has always been helpful. Today (5/15/2022) Felicia went above and beyond for me. She was the only one holding the store down and I could tell she needed some relief. But she didn't let that get in the way of making sure I was taken care of. She got my item returned and replaced with a smaller size, for the same price I paid online. She made sure the item was shipped to my house. We cracked some jokes and I was on my way. She's the best. I hope her higher ups see this and give her raise cause she deserves it.

The one I picked lit up but only if I held it down. So I brought it up to the front and asked the girl to please show me how to make the lights stay on. She did try which I appreciated and then said I think it only stays on if you hold it... I said that doesn’t make sense how will I wear it out? She said she didn’t know and I said ok, maybe I can tape it on. Will I get a discount? She said she’d have to ask a manger. I asked her to get the manager. She left and came back -no manager and told me I don’t get a discount even if I was willing to fix it myself and that it’s supposed to be like that. I thought that didn’t make sense, but fine it is what it is. I was on my way out when I remembered there was a second one. I was curious and turned it on. Only half lit up but IT STAYED ON! So I brought it back to the lady and showed her it’s suposed to stay on and that this one too was broken! She then rolled her eyes at me like I bothered her and I just said well if these are broken and you won’t discount maybe you should keep them off the floor.. and I left. So so unhappy. I would’ve bought the broken one.

Dare Cook: LOVING the HOS Shirt of the Month Club! The Shirt of the Month Club has been so much fun since I'm a fan of almost all Swanky designs. I've participated for three months and have received three totally different shirts (down to the color!) that are all the same high quality that we've come to expect from HOS. The plan was to occasionally keep a shirt and gift others, but I can't seem to part with the random designs that I've received so far. They are all fantastic!! I thoroughly recommend joining!

After about a week and a half I wondered what was up. I emailed the Company and received a response quickly. They explained the situation fully and were very pleasant to deal with.
