Kamm McKenzie OBGYN: what do users think?
Sidney Cooper: It’s been a few years since I’ve gone to this practice but finally decided everyone should know my experience before going to them for treatment. I went to Kamm McKenzie a number of times but the last time I went was for an IUD insertion. Which first off, let me say is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced and don’t let anyone make you feel like it’s not terrifying. Secondly I asked to be told what exactly was going to happen during the procedure and was denied. She also did not explain what she was doing to my body as she was doing it other than the basic “you’ll feel a pinch” Also the night prior to the procedure I was given pill to “prep me” which I was not told would keep me up all night in agonizing pain because they were essentially inducing labor. Honestly it was a terribly traumatic experience and I left in pain and feeling violated. Everyone has a right to be aware of what someone is doing to their body especially such a private area and I was denied that right.
Helana Tolbah: Some of doctors at this practice are amazing, and friendly but at the same time the doctors that I dealt with at this practice down play any symptoms or pain I was facing, and rush the appointment almost everytime I go. I feel very uncomfortable to call when I am feeling any discomfort or any symptoms due to the down playing.
Yvonne Wynn: Wonderful! So thankful for Dr. Lauren Wheeler too.
Elyza Rasmussen: I started going here when trying to conceive for several months. Reception was always rude, for starters. They scheduled an ultrasound to see if there were any issues and at that appointment, after the ultra sound tech was finished, I waited almost an hour in an office waiting for Doctor McKenzie who pretty much just said everything looks good. That could’ve just been a call rather than me waiting so long. I finally conceived and had the first ultrasound appointment and after being called back, my husband and I waited almost 40 minutes to be called into the room for the ultra sound. They said someone was already in there, so basically we were double booked. Afterward, they made a fuss about printing pictures for me even though they had offered it earlier. Reception was rude again. And we didn’t see the doctor even though we were told we’d see her after the ultra sound to talk about pregnancy and have any questions answered. I ended up finding a different OBGYN. I never felt confident leaving any visit here.
cantcomplane2008@gmail.com MOOTE: It's been a long time that I've had seen so many friendly and professional people.Thank you,
Marissa Nixon: This review is several months delayed but I just now feel comfortable posting. I was a patient at Kamm Mckenzie for years and loved my doctor here. Unexpectedly, I found myself with pregnancy complications that were potentially life threatening if not treated. The scheduling coordinator refused to schedule me for anything less than a month out because that was standard for my situation. I am informed and I knew my situation was urgent. She said she asked the OB for a second opinion who backed her on not scheduling me. On top of all this she was incredibly rude to a scared patient. Out of options at Kamm Mckenzie, I had to have my PCP refer me to a new OBGYN, and everyone involved expedited the referral process because each doctor agreed it was a potential emergency situation. My PCP and new OBGYN were both shocked that KM would not get me to be checked out. I’m not sure where the true issue lies here but at the end of the day Kamm Mckenzie was not there for me as a long term patient and left my health in jeopardy.
Ashley Heier: This was my first time visiting and had an appointment with Dr. Rush. I was feeling pretty good about it because the reviews were good, however after waiting for over an hour before being seen, I was rushed through my appointment and when I explained to Dr. Rush that I makes me nervous not being able to read blood results and asked that she let me know as soon as possible what my blood results were she said she was leaving for vacation that whole next week but would let me know as soon as she returned. We’re going on 3 weeks later and I’ve sent text messages asking about my results and still have gotten no response. I will not be coming back.
Kayla Roberts: I love the doctors at this practice and truly appreciate the care I receive. However, the wait times lately are out of control. I’ve waited as long as 45 minutes past my appointment time for a doctor. The front desk staff aren’t very friendly and often the nurses aren’t either. Seems there has been a shift in quality over the last couple of years.
Deborah Henson: I'm not a patient with this group. My daughter is. She went last week to get a pregnancy test, and was treated rudely by a young doctor. Then was told later that week to have a second blood test to make sure her numbers have went up. Nothing has beet put on my chart for any of the test from the office. She was also told that the doctor would call her last Friday 3/24 with the test results today is Tuesday still no call or nothing on my chart with any results. Something needs to be done.
Arianne Cabrera: I love that they have a text service. I was able to book a new patient appointment via text (so helpful). Front staff was so nice when I walked in. Jackie (I hope I got her name right) was my nurse and she was exceptional. I wish I could pick my nurse because I loved her. She was so sweet and caring and didn’t rush me. Dr.Erica made me feel so comfortable and she really knows her stuff. I’ve had problems in the past with women gyno making me feel stupid for not knowing something and I didn’t feel that at all with Dr. Erica. She was so sweet and answered all my questions. I’ve found my new gyno office! Thank you all!
Brian Fountain: Never answers the phone
Samantha Casey: I've been coming here for eight years now and won't go anywhere else. All of the providers are amazing. My kids were delivered by Dr. Bass and Dr. Rush, who are both fantastic physicians. This office has been with me through many ups and downs. The compassion I've received from the staff is genuine. I never feel rushed and always have my concerns answered. I go to both offices, each are wonderful.
Erin H: Patient for over 20 years. Consistently caring, knowledgeable care.
Danielle Check: Start off by saying it has been 6 years since the start of my 1st pregnancy with Kamm. I now live elsewhere, I would still go here if I was local.I actually like that at least during pregnancy you see all the providers so you are familiar with them come birth. I loved Kalinowski and Bryd. Bass was also great! Dr Rush and Missy weren't the greatest. Rush said since my contractions weren't regular I wasn't in labor but luckily I followed my instincts and luckily Dr Bryd was on call after her and delivered my baby boy. She has amazing bedside manner. They are very well informed and on top of their game at this location. You do have to sometimes wait and sometimes the MAs are standing around gossiping and not the happiest. But overall a great practice!!
Jami-Jon Pearson: Staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve been seen by Erika Stephenson multiple times and she does a great job in creating a calm/safe environment for check ups and my many medical questions ☺️.
mattie Jordan: The front desk employees and medical assistants aren’t very welcoming and act like they hate their job. When I go, I always end up waiting over 45 minutes for the doctor. It’s time I switch to a different practice. I’m currently at the office and my appointment was at 11:15 and it’s now 12:07 and I’m still waiting on the doctor.
Lindsay Foley: Usually I don’t write reviews or try not to complain, but I feel like the birth experience and postpartum care I received through this practice needs to be expressed. I drove 1.5 hours to this practice for my care because I THOUGHT this was a prestigious practice in Raleigh, NC. At the time , they even had better reviews .I had a VBAC in April. The ultrasound was wrong and the doctors’ estimates were inaccurate for the size of my baby. The doctors even made mention that the ultrasound would be a deciding factor on going towards a VBAC . Even when signing my VBAC consent papers the doctor ( Dr. Rush) said , “ now remember this baby is smaller than his brother .“ She was totally wrong , he was not at all . Had I been guided and given accurate information , I would have chosen a C -section as I more than likely would have had a better physical outcome.I had requested pain medicine during my labor and was not given any by the nurse . I felt rushed by the OB during my labor as she asked to break my water early and stated “well I know you’re in pain ”. Indeed I was suffering as I had received no pain medicine ( none at all) when requested..Because of all of this inaccurate/ faulty care, I could have had a better physical outcome for myself. The care afterwards really disappointed me. The doctor had given me a diagnosis at my postpartum appointment . I messaged her afterwards to get more information/ the help I needed and received no response. I even made several calls to the nurses explaining that I messaged her and was wanting help for my diagnosis to get the care/ help I needed or at least information. Each time they said they would talk to her and never got back to me. When I requested my charts , there was inaccurate documentation. I made phone calls to get help and set up appointments and it takes multiple calls to get a hold of someone . The text messaging they set up is terrible .Even if they are busy, there is no excuse for the lack of good care. I am thankful my baby is alive and well , but the mother matters as well.
Seven K: Do not come here if you are expecting this is a medical practice they do not care for your health!!! Money hungry
Chinyere McSwain: My overall experience as a woman of color at this office was very unpleasant. This is my first pregnancy and I am not high risk. Prior to even becoming a patient, I called and specifically asked if they support home births because that is my birth plan and I was told they do. I went to my first appointment with my husband to do my first ultrasound and bloodwork. Then I went back for my second appointment with my husband and that’s when we were told I would have to deliver at a hospital because I they didn’t support home births but apologized for the misinformation. In the mean time, I was sent a bill for my copayment. For one, getting through to the office was extremely difficult. I had to call numerous times and even left voicemails to call my work and cell number. Anyway, I was having issues because I was still in my first trimester and that was hard for me. I went in for my 3rd appointment to talk to a doctor about getting time off from work but one of the doctors offered me anxiety medication but didn’t see a medical reason to take me out of work for a week, which was what I was asking for because I was feeling emotionally and mentally overwhelmed with my pregnancy. I don’t have a history of anxiety, never taken medication for such and I declined the offer. After I left that office, I immediately started looking for another care provider and had my records transferred. To be clear, the nurse who did my intake and ultrasound tech who did my first ultrasound were amazing and this does not ideally reflect all staff as a whole but the 2 doctors I worked with , I didn’t care for the experience I had with both of them… especially the female doctor who offered me anxiety medication. Hopefully another black woman might have a better experience than I had but I would recommend going somewhere with more diverse doctors who understand working with African American patients.
Kimberly Wieberg: I couldn’t be more impressed by the level of care I received today at Kamm McKenzie OBGYN. Dr. Byrd, her nurse Sam, and the ultrasound tech, Amanda were all so attentive, kind, and just all round genuinely caring. So glad I found this office!
Callista Avery: Booked an appointment, waited 5 weeks for it, took off work, and drove to the office - for them to have never put my appointment in their system and being sent home. Will not be returning and will go to a punctual doctors office who won’t waste my time

WakeMed Obstetrics & Gynecology - High Risk: what do users think?
Jasmine C: My first appointment there went well. From the front staff, nurses and doctor.
Anasthia Williams: Everyone - doctors, nurses, facilities people, security and all. . Just so nice and professional. I’m confident that my daughter is in good hands here.
Rosa Franco: Excellent attention in reception. And I’m Delighted with Dra:Carolyn Steinhauser She’s the Sweetest Dr I’ve ever had . She’s the best of the best thank you..🙏🏻 and more than five stars for Her ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️…
Cassandra Davis: I would like to personally thank Dr. Foster, Dr. Kouri, Dr. Munoz and the entire team of physicians and nurses who cared for me during my hospitalization! I pray our dear Lord will bless and keep every single one of you now and forever! Your patient care was outstanding, I could not have been in better hands than with your team of pure excellence! ❤️
Debra Desha: The clinic personnel is pleasant. However, driving around for 30 minutes for parking is ridiculous. When finally finding a space and walking two blocks and being told her appointment is canceled is not acceptable. I was leaving until they asked and found she is 38 wks and coming from Louisburg. Now we wait until ???????
PickUp TheCross: I previously made a review I wasn't happy about the change of experience in ob practice compared to my first pregnancy. But the providers are good and nice. I didn't like the idea of not meeting the doctor who would deliver my child but I got to say that the birthing experience was great (except one strange/uncomfortable situation with a physician in training) the nurses during L&D were beyond great and helpful. I give L&D team 5 stars.
Mariela Zapata: Muy buen lugar y todos los trabajadores son muy respetuosos estoy muy contenta con eso.
Emily Kicklighter: Dr. Armstrong has been my doctor for many years. He truly cares about his patients. He helps his patients feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable at handling complex cases.
Courtney Kniffen: I transferred over from the Holly Springs office due to being high risk. I was incredibly nervous to start all over again with another doctor but I have seen Carolyn 3 times now and she has been absolutely amazing. Every concern I have had, she has put my mind at complete ease. I love this office.
Kierra: I highly recommend DR. MAC. I’ll be honest, as a black person, I wanted a black OB and a female. It’s what I was accustomed too considering my last OBGYN was both. However… I love Dr. Mac. He is the sweetest and most patient man. He actually takes the time to listen and he doesn’t judge any of your decisions. As an overweight person, I had always heard about the stigmatization behind being overweight and pregnant but as long as I had attended my OBGYN, I never thought I’d experience it. No one ever informed me that they had a BMI cut off(for which I wasn’t even at)or anything until after I was pregnant. So to say I was devastated was honestly an understatement. I was also a newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic which made me high risk. Before all of this I had never want med a hospital birth at all. I planned to have a midwife and home birth etc… so when I was told it wasn’t possible, I cried for weeks. Literally. On top of so many other places turning me away. I honestly ended up here because I was just exhausted and no longer even cared as long as someone would see me and check on my baby considering I was now 13 weeks and hadn’t had any prenatal care other than an ultrasound at a clinic. When I called, they were so friendly and assured me that it would be okay. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Not one time has he focused on my weight! I actually asked him how much I gained lol. He doesn’t rush you and he takes the time to hear you out, unlike most. I honestly couldn’t have landed in a better place. The nurses are friendly and so is the front desk staff(and trust me… I’ve seen some of their rude patients. Yet, they handled it professionally). I hope that if you are faced with the decision of having to have a hospital birth because you are high risk, that you consider this place. Thank you wake med OB staff, you honestly have no idea how grateful I am for all of you and how much easier and enjoyable you’ve made my pregnancy💕
Nancy Rosario: Exelente servicio desde la resepcionista loyda, las enfermeras y lis doctores me siento muy concentida en todo mi priceso muchas gracias
shamirah gray: The staff was friendly and very informative.
Kata R: ☆☆☆☆☆ encantada con la atención de la recepcionista LOYDA, y encantada con ladoctora Carolyn Steinhauser. EXELENTE SERVICIO 100%
carmen Gutiérrez: I'm so glad with the attention, nurses and front desk girls are so kind...
Nallely Mejia: Everyone is so nice and always make me feel so welcomed. Always smiling and making sure I feel safe and comfortable. Loyda at front desk makes sure to welcome me and show me step by step to check in. Dr. Megan is so nice and makes sure to answer all my questions with specific details. Love this place first pregnancy and they’ve treated me awesome.
Elora Medlin: I spent a long time debating if I wanted to write this review or not but with it being 2yrs later and I’m still having the same problems with them is ridiculous. 2yrs ago I had a LEEP procedure done it was done incorrectly. I was Hemorrhaging and passing Golf ball sized blood clots I had to go back twice for them to finally think giving me stitches was the thing to do…it took two visits for that idea to occur. Now all I need from them is a referral to get seen by someone who actually knows what they’re doing and no one there seems to know how to make a referral. It amazes me how people get their jobs.
danielle peterson: Literally things posted on my chart that were not accurate and not discussed. Then they told be to schedule my 3hr glucose I DID just for me to get there and have to wait damn near an hour to be seen. Not to mention I cannot eat or drink for 3 hrs and when I get to my appointment at 8 am because I went around wake med to locate where I actually had to take the test because it was not clear at the time of me “scheduling” where it would be. Also, they did not mention its not actual appointment so I wasn’t even seen until about 9. I’m done with wake med at this point.
K Teytud: Megan Miller is amazing I absolutely love working with her she was my OB for my second and third child and I couldn’t be more pleased. She is quick, knowledgeable and very sweet !
Laura Powers: Spot on diagnosis and procedure to clear all issues. Great team!
Inisha Summers: I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Beckham, she literally has given me my life back. I had a hysterectomy on 3/19, and god sent her with her blessed hands to bless my body. From the first encounter with her she made me feel secure in my decision, and secure in the fact that she was going to be the one operating on me. The day of surgery I was nervous nonetheless but the whole team down to the anesthesiologist made sure I was comfortable, and that I knew what they were doing every step of the way. Dr. Beckham did such a wonderful job she made my recovery a breeze. Soon as I awoke from surgery I was able to walk on my own, and I had next to no pain 🤗. I genuinely have respect and love for this woman because she has given me my life back ❤🧡💛💚💜💙. After I went home I received multiple calls from them checking up on me, I received a card signed by them I felt as though they cared as if I was family. I will never forget what her and the team has done for me, and I would like to say THANK YOU GUYS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART 😘
Myriam Clement: Dr Gantt and the whole team are professional, they are caring and call back to check on me after the procedure. They are the best !

Allison L Jacokes, MD (OB GYN): what do users think?
Cathy Jones: Dr Jacokes is an excellent doctor. Excellent bedside manner.
Kat Lahr: Jacokes was not thorough at all with my exam, went very fast with everything. When I discussed recent multiple yeast infections with her, she said sorry I couldn't help with your vaginal problems -- isn't that her specialty? Will unfortunately find a new gyne.
Er Ha: Attentive to my concerns, made recommendations and referrals. Thank you!
Jordan Buskey: We love Dr. Jacokes— she is wonderful, thorough, and personable. She delivered our daughter and we so wish she could deliver our second one!
Tracey C: Initially I wasn’t planning to have a hysterectomy, but after speaking with Dr.Jacokes I knew it was the right decision for me. I appreciate the time she spent explaining all aspects of the surgery and the recovery to me.
Lisa Johnson: I have been a patient at Associates for over 20 years. Dr. Jacokes recently performed my robotic assisted hysterectomy. The care that I received before, during and after my surgery was second to none. They are an amazing group of doctors. I moved 2.5 hours away from the practice four years ago and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.
cindy nguyen: I’ve been a patient for 5 years and Dr. Jackoes delivered my first child. It has been 2 years and husband still brags about how wonderful Dr. Jacokes was during our labor process. Hopefully we can also have her deliver our second child that we are expecting in the next few months. I absolutely love having her as my OBGYN for my checkups as well! She’s very caring, observant, extremely skilled and honest (to help ease your anxieties, not make them worse). I can keep going on and on about her, but overall I adore her! Would highly recommend her for anyone who’s looking for an OBGYN provider for any of your needs in women’s health.
Jena' Strain: Very kind hearted

WakeMed Obstetrics & Gynecology: what do users think?
Brittany Hill: Upon visiting WakeMed MFM, on Sunnybrook, my husband Michael and I had a great experience! Our Sonographer, Leah Kelly, was exceptional! Her demeanor and character made us feel so comfortable and cared for. She truly is doing what God blessed her to do… Her passion shows through each session; and her smile allievated any and all anxieties we had throughout the duration of each visit. The care given by the entire team made our time there much smoother than any other Doctor visits we’ve ever had. We just wanted to acknowledge what a capable and tender hearted person Leah is.. many people don’t get the acknowledgment they deserve and we wanted to make sure that wake med, and all others realize what a great staff they have in sonographer, Leah Kelly, and OBGYN Dr Cathrine Wellner. Thanks for the opportunity to share our wonderful experience, and what a joy Leah and the whole team were to us! -Brittany, and Michael Sanders
Sandy Woodard: I had an outpatient surgery with a lot of anxiety on my part as I've never had any surgeries. This staff of admin workers, nurses, doctor were rated 110% in my opinion for their level of care, instructions, and support for me. They gave very precise instructions to provide a clear picture of what was to happen, the various stages I would go through and at home care. I am so relieved that I chose this Doctor, team at Wake Med to make this a very positive experience for me. Thank you for caring about your patients.
Shar Jones: My tech Anna was amazing she made my ultrasound fun and exciting and the atmosphere is so pleasant. Dr Rimawi was just as pleasant and made me very comfortable. He explained everything so I would understand and showed me the screen as he talked. Will definitely be making all future appointments with the sunnybrook location.
Sheila Roberson: I want to share with you, that the staff is and always polite, professional, patience, and understanding, from the time I have walked through the door the two receptionists Sha'kera has always spoke with a smile and I don't have to wait long and the nurse Lizzie she is almost I truly enjoy my time at my appointment now matter what I would go for the whole staff would make me feel as a family member thank you so much WakeMed staff
C Bryan: Did not feel welcomed from the moment we walked through the door. Staff was rude.
Jessica H: Dr. Witt is outstanding! Thorough, thoughtful, and overall excellent. Really like all of the providers!
anna mccormick: love all these providers. as an employee at wakemed, i feel great about other people going to see any of these 4 people. they listen, respond quickly to mychart messages, and know their stuff. they're great at calming you down when you're worried. and did you know that wakemed has an OB emergency room? i didn't, and i work there. it's such a nice resource if your'e worried about something on a friday at 5 pm. my only complaint is, i wish they were open 5 days/week, and not just tuesday/thursday.

Raleigh Ob-Gyn Center: Trollip Dawn S MD: what do users think?
Jennifer McLeod: I have been a patient with Raleigh Ob/Gyn for over 12 years. Their service has been stellar since my very first visit and I appreciate their attentiveness, flexibility, and care. From the front desk staff to the doctors and PA’s, they are hands down the best. All the providers and staff do a phenomenal job with patient care, but Dr. Trollip is A++. She is a great listener and provider, she is thorough and genuinely cares. She has delivered 2 out of 3 of my children and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Autumn: I was really nervous about my first visit. Dr. Dawn Trollip did a great job at easing my anxiety, she was so friendly and warm to me, I felt like she genuinely cared. It was a positive experience.
Melanie Russell: Dr. Dawn Trollip is SO AMAZING! She is kind, an excellent listener, patient and very concerned about her patients. She takes time to get to know you and understand any concerns you may have. She cares about the WHOLE you and how your total health affects your gynecological health. I would recommend her very highly! She has such great integrity and the best bed side manner!
Paula Stapleton: Dr. Trollip is fantastic. She is skilled, professional and makes you feel comfortable. ❤️
Adrienne Michelle, LMFT: I have been seeing Dr. Trollip for a few years now and she is a very efficient, kind and thoughtful medical provider. Her office is very warm and inviting and she always takes time to sit and listen to needs and concerns. Would highly recommend.
Anna Guzman: I have been to quite a few gynecologists over the years and I was very impressed with Dr. Trollip's level of care. She took the time to ask pertinent questions about my health and even called me to relay my test results herself. At one point in our session we were done and she was heading out and I started asking her more questions and she actually turned back to sit down to listen attentively to my concerns. Trulyimpressed with her bedside mannners and level of responsiveness and care.
Kylie Littleton: I highly recommend Dr. Trollip! She is very kind, patient and listens to my questions/concerns. She even answers a lot of my questions before I even get to ask them, and when I do, she is very thorough. I also love that her detailed visit notes are shared with me so that I can refer back to them when necessary. I have seen Dr. Trollip for follow ups and annual checks and I absolutely love her as my provider!
Heather Richards: Dr Trollip is awesome. She’s caring and understanding. I would highly recommend her.
Kate M: I’ve been going to Raleigh OB-GYN for over a decade and Dr. Dawn Trollip has been my main provider. The office is friendly and Dr. Trollip has always answered all of my questions and listened to my concerns. During both of my pregnancies, I rotated through all of the providers in the office and liked all of them. I delivered both of my babies with them and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Lauren Schaefer: Dawn Trollip is an excellent provider! I highly recommend her. She is very collaborative, listens well and does not rush her patients.
Mallory Kubasko: I love Raleigh OBGYN center and I love Dr. Trollip! She is very thorough and very kind.
Kasha Richardson: Great OB
Brooke Valentine: I've been seeing Dr Trollip for years. She helped with both of my deliveries and has continued my annual care since. Her and her staff are always super friendly and willing to listen to any concerns. She is great about taking you through all proper steps and keeping her communication open. I highly recommend Dr Trollip.
Jenai Marie: Dr. Trollip is amazing. She takes the time to LISTEN. This is the first doctor in a long time that genuinely cares to hear me out without rushing me or talking over me. She also takes the time to thoroughly go through any test results and will be glad to explain anything you may not understand. Granted my blood sugar is a little high, and I MAY be diabetic, but this has been the only doctor I would actually want to give me any reports that may not be good. She has compassion and is just an overall great provider.
Britney Melvin: My experiences here is always amazing. Everyone is nice and helpful. I always go to see Dr. Trollip because she is so nice, I trust her, and she takes her time to listen. I have been going to her for about 11 years and I currently travel almost 2 hours to see her. I highly recommend her and this practice.
Jenny Myers: I was recently referred to Dr. Dawn Trollip by a friend and I'm so glad I followed though to make an appt with her. She was incredibly kind and took her time during our visit. Productive and moved swiftly, but I never felt rushed. As long as she's in practice, I'll be a client.
Estrees Marshall: The staff is always nice and welcoming. Dr. Trollip is very patient and listened to all my concerns. She is very good at giving you all your options and answering all your questions. She is the first Dr to come up with a theory about my pain and not dismiss me as dramatic. If you're a patient that has all the questions and likes procedures and course of treatments explained, she is the person for you.
Morgan Smith: Dr. Trollip was kind, warm, extremely knowledgable and a great communicator. After some bad experiences with OBGYNs in the past, talking to Dr. Trollip was like a breath of fresh air.

WakeMed Obstetrics & Gynecology: what do users think?
Brooke Miller: During my entire pregnancy my doctors made me always feel so welcomed. A lot of my nurses were very rude during my visits but sometimes I would have amazing ones that made me feel cared for and taken care of. I had the WORST delivery experience with them and this was my first child. When I arrived at the hospital my nurse caring for me throughout the night blew 5 veins in my arms and hands ( my veins are big and not hard to stick or find). She proceeded to give me antibiotics that I was allergic to and was on my list as cannot have. I was swelling up and my throat was closing and she asked me what to give me to make my allergic reaction stop. She still did nothing and it was time for me to push during shift change, after delivering my daughter, I had a fever of 102 and was not able to breathe another nurse had to administer medicine through my iv because my nurse failed to do so. They also lost all my newborns records or never put them in the chart so I had to take her to another doctor to redue all her newborn screening test. I had my post partum visit scheduled and had to reschedule due to having the flu and step, they told me it would be another 3 months before I could be seen. I recommend going somewhere/anywhere else to deliver and have your baby. Also this was just my experience not everyone else’s, some of the nurses and doctors are amazing.
Jessica Hagins: I had a very bad experience with Dr. Vu. I had told intake that I wanted to come for my yearly exam and pap smear, but additionally wanted to discuss my migraines. If I explained it correctly to the intake specialist, then it didn't go through to the provider because I did not get an exam at all. They still charged me $94 for my concerns to be dismissed, to be treated rudely, and to merely be given a referral. When discussing my migraines, I told her the past month had been off. We *only* discussed one month of history. She said that my migraines did not sound hormonal because they would have been occurring on the first day of my period. Well, other than that one month, I went back in my calendar when I got home and discovered that they did indeed occur on the first day of my period every month. I have since learned that an ultrasound came back with masses that need to be addressed that account for the odd other symptoms, ones that I gave to the doctor but that she never discussed and never did a pelvic exam for. Despite telling her the treatment my previous doctor did and how much it helped, she insisted all I needed was a neurologist. That may be, and I have no problem seeing one, but I felt completely dismissed when trying to bring up the total of all my symptoms and the treatment that had made me feel better. A $94 charge for nothing but a referral to a neurologist by someone who refused to listen to me and never even did an exam.
Rebecca Shattuck: Transferred care from another practice 2 months in pregnancy, big mistake. I have never felt more like a number in my entire life. Every "5 minute" visit, my concerns were swept under the rug and I was told "that's normal." ( this excludes Dr. Vu and Dr. Evans, the only two physicians that actually listened to me) I have worked in healthcare my entire life and understand what was happening with my care was subpar at best. I would steer clear and try to find a birthing center and doula if possible because this was a traumatic birthing experience I do not want to relive.edit* I just saw the response and honestly I'm good, I have already told this entire story to the social worker part of WakeMed's traumatic birth program which I went through and this all still happened, so I do not want to "follow-up" and waste anymore of my time. Thank you.
Bobbie Lequire: I am highly concerned for daughters and mothers who go to Dr. Amantia Kennedy for gynecology. Due to my experience with Dr. Kennedy, I no longer trust doctors and I have to bring my mother with me to my doctor visits because Dr. Kennedy was rough with me during a pap procedure and she told me that she removed a polyp but now is claiming she did not. Dr. Kennedy's nurse is also claiming that Dr. Kennedy did not remove a polyp from inside me. Someone at Dr. Kennedy's office completed my health survey before my appointment with Dr. Kennedy and completed it incorrectly. How can a doctor and her nurse lie about performing a procedure and about rough treatment to a patient? God saw what happened and Dr. Kennedy and her nurse will one day have to face God. I have cried and cried because of this experience. I just can't understand how a doctor and nurse could do something like this.
Marcy Keim: I was referred to this practice by my primary care provider due to an abnormal test result and symptoms of possible uterine cancer. The doctor herself was very good but the scheduling and office staff are condescending at best. I called to look into a mistake with a couple of prescriptions and scheduling the procedure for the biopsy that was recommended by the doctor. Both people I talked to sounded annoyed with my questions and concerns and talked over me in a very cold manner. As for scheduling, they wanted to wait over TWO MONTHS for a BIOPSY. When I expressed my concerns about waiting that long, especially with the severity of my symptoms, I was met with a condescending lecture about the importance of everyone else's appointments and excuses as to why they were so booked up. I understand that I am no more important than any other person there but testing for CANCER in a person experiencing symptoms severe enough to affect their daily activities should warrant some sort of priority status. Patients are obviously just a number at this practice.
Tandra Kleeberg: Spoke with Jennifer a nurse here at this office several times today trying to get in contact with my doctor since Monday. Each time she was "nice" she had an attitude but said it with a smile. She essentially insinuated I was drug seeking. I have worked in hospitals and doctors offices as a healthcare professional for a decade now, my mom was a nurse, and I went to nursing school. I know exactly the wording a nurse or doctor uses when they think a patient is drug seeking. I have been doing an uphill battle for years trying to get my endometriosis diagnosed and under control but I live in delibating pain because of this, because this isn't managed. Yes I'm in pain yes I am looking to be out of that pain ,when you have been living with this for years and have tried everything short of surgery to help and still no relief yes you are going to ask for the thing that does help. I have said constantly to many people if there is something else I can take other than pain medication that can help that I haven't tried please let me know and I will try it. To be talked down to and looked at my chart to see yes I have been to the e.r twice in 16 days. I AM IN PAIN and on the behest of my primary care doctor urged to go, is downright degrading and mean. To be told well I can't make the doctor read her messages any quicker, you will be fine. Is outrageous. I am disappointed that a women's clinic, a nurse, to this day still disregards endometriosis as something that is not delibatingly painful. I would not go to this office ever again. I will be switching to a new organization this is completely awful to be treated this way as a patient.
Lori: I had hysterectomy surgery at Wakemed North in Nov 2022. Every single person I encountered from check-in to surgery to recovery to my overnight stay were fantastic and helped me either to feel better or relieve some of my fears and anxiety. The hospital is very clean, it’s kind of quiet and calm too. The room I stayed in was quite comfortable for a hospital room. My nurses and techs were so kind and attentive and patient with all my questions. Dr Crane is a miraculous surgeon, very compassionate, skilled and easy to speak with. My only complaint would be the food. Cold sandwiches were good, chocolate pudding and mashed potatoes were good but most of the time I was hungry! I had as best of an experience as one can have with a surgery. I had extreme anxiety before surgery and my nurses, intern drs and even the anesthesiologist were very compassionate and helped me with my fears.
Laura Bahamida: I've seen probably every OB professional since i started going here. They're all amazing. They make me feel comfortable and answer all of my questions. Thank you so much for all that you all do for us, I couldn't ask for better service.
Mashetty Sripriya: Pregnancy visit :- Doctor ( Cindy Huyen ) she is always on rush during regular checkup . No information will be clearly provided by her. Apart from her nurses and Dr. Kennedy are does a great job.
Lou Brian: I’m not usually one to go to doctors offices unless of course I believe something is wrong or for an annual visit. I called more recently because I’ve been having lower abdominal pain and more irregular menstrual cycles (which is very unusual for me). I’ve had ovarian cysts in the pasts, so my first thought was I may have another one or maybe I have PCOS. I addressed PCOS the very first visit, did blood work, and was told my blood work was normal and that I don’t have PCOS because my hormones are fine, ok cool. Fast forward to a year later, I have more irregular periods, excessive hair growth in unwanted places, and more lower abdominal pain. I called again to get an appointment and was seen the next day (kudos to that). Did an examine but the physician ignored the fact that I should probably get an ultrasound done. I had to tell her I wanted one done to be sure (I shouldn’t have to tell the physician of these things). I got my ultrasound done and there were fibroids presented, which is now a new diagnosis for me. I called the office reaching out (thanks to MyChart, we get the results quickly) and the physician expressed no concern what so ever nor did she suggest any treatment options. I think it’s safe to say that I will not return back to WakeMed for my women's health concerns considering my issues with my body (a patient knows their body more than anyone else) was not taken seriously from the beginning.
Rusul Alhaddad: Very excellent hospital and very very nice doctors and nurses.I been trying for having a baby for 9 years and when I went for this OBG YN I got my baby now thanks to god and for them.
David S.: Outpatient/office visits during pregnancy: Very poor service. Doctors are always rushed and don't care. Appointment slots are always booked even though you are pregnant and need appointment. They don't fill out FMLA or leave forms properly or promptly (we have been trying for two months to get our FMLA form filled out). Very poor experience. Wish we never switched to this practice, we felt stuck near the end because it is hard to switch once you are near delivery date.Hospital experience (Labor and delivery, post partum): The hospital itself and nurses are great. We had a good delivery experience, which is why I gave it an extra star. But the outpatient office visits for 40 weeks before the delivery almost make the rest not worth the trouble. Shame because the hospital and nurses were great. Take that for what is is worth - good hospital experience, poor office visit experienceReview: Somehow my review keeps getting hidden. Shady practice that they can hide negative reviews. I've had to post this 3 times
Jas Jas: Really over this OB office and unfortunately I can’t switch due to me being almost 7 months. It’s always the run around when you truly in need of something. So far out of all the providers I have see at this office I can say only 1 seems to have cared about my issues and concerns. Needs better bedside manners and build a little relationship with your patients. We as patients are trusting you all with our life and unborn life so the relationship should and could be better. The triage nurses aren’t much help and Sara is very rude most of the time. I will be so glad when my experience with this office is over and I have a safe delivery soon.
Breea Pepiot: I feel torn on how many stars to give them. I saw Cara Cameron three times and she is the WORST medical provider I have ever seen. She does not listen to any concerns, she is rude when she speaks, and she has absolutely no patient care. However, my last visit I saw Dr. Vu and she was amazing. She definitely turned around this office for me. She spent time talking to me and is very clearly knowledgeable about her patients and job. She is the only reason this office didn't get one star.
CJ Schwartz: Edit: WakeMed staff reached out and the lady I spoke with was so kind. She asked questions and seemed really concerned that this happened. Changing my review and absolutely recommend that you reach out if you have a bad experience, they really seem to care! I never saw a OB here, but they also soom great from the reviews.Called to schedule a new patient appointment. Lady I spoke with started getting attitude wanting more details. Ok. I started giving more details as requested and then was hung up on. Called back and was on hold. Decided to not make an new patient appointment after all. I can do better.
Jen Konrad: Dr. Jarvis was attentive, listened, explained and ordered follow up tests as well as a follow up visit. No run arounds, no back and forth, everything was done the same day and the following week. Messaged and called with results and further plans. Staff was polite, attentive, wait time was almost none.
Lillian Bryant: Absolutely LOVED the care I received while I was there for the birth of my sweet boy! I had a C section and a tubal ligation and was scared out of my mind but nurses and doctors calmed my fears tremendously. My son was born 2 weeks early and was placed in the special care nursery and his care was exceptional as well! Many thanks and much blessings to ALL of the staff (from nurses to doctors and dietary and environmental staff) at North Raleigh WakeMed!❤️
Bridgette White: I had a appointment with Dr Benoit-Wilson on 1/5/2021 this was my first visit with her. She was very personable ,informative, and nice every question I had she answered. She met every expectation I had. She really care about her patients. I will tell every women I know about her.
Lisa Rochette: I’ve lived in several cities and have used a multitude of different OB GYN providers, and the staff here (providers and nurses) is the absolute best! Recently had a visit with Dr. Joanna Evans and was extremely impressed. Pleasant, patient, and prepared...really appreciate the competent care!
Wizaso Munthali: I'd like to say thank very much for the excellent service I received from Dr. Netasha Mclawhorn and MA: Racquel at your N.Raleigh facility on 5th January 2021. The attention and care they gave to me was exceptional, it instilled in me confidence that I was at the right facility and with the right medical professionals!
