Dana Frost: Friendly service with a sales rep that tries to twist policy to needlessly upsell. Not impressed.
Chris Krupp: Always very busy and shares with dollar. Cars can be hard to come by on peak hours. Hertz always takes care of me which is why I keep coming back. They could use more office staff.
Debra Birchfield: I prepaid for fuel and was told that if I returned it with a full tank, I would not be charged. Apparently, that was a lie. I returned it with a full tank. When I called their automated line. It said there is no refund for unused fuel. Lesson learned.
Green Eyes: Trash wants a $500 deposit and credit check to use your debit card!! Never again I'll book my rentals elsewhere. The whole process is terrible.I was confronted by a Black woman employee and ask if I had a problem with her helping me.. I said yes I don't want you helping me. Jackie Denning: Didn’t have car or car seats ready. Desk added extra insurance even though we declined it and then claimed they couldn’t take it off when we printed out their mistake. Van smells like an ashtray in the worst you club you visited in your early 20’s. Took almost an hour to get out of the parking lot because only one lane open to exit on a Saturday afternoon in July. Worst service I have experienced in a long time.

Muthineni Sridhar Rao: I rented my car today from this location, person directly added extra lost damage waivers of $34.99 per day, I asked them to remove and he did something and printed another paper and I was told done, my mistake I didn’t verify the contract before signing . Now after coming home after an hour I realized that contract is same paper printed again. I called the customer service and there is no way to remove. Avoid these cheaters, if not avoidable cross check the contract before signing, don’t believe on their words.
Shelley Edwards: Absolutely abysmal on the scale of efficiency, service, and delivery. After waiting in line for 45 minutes (the line was not long), I finally got the paperwork executed for my pre-arranged rental (what happened to the “Easy, fast pickup” gimmick?? Several of us in line had the same question). Then, we were all dismissed to the parking lot to “go pick whatever midsize SUV I wanted.” Well, there were no cars. None. For 30 mins, with zero staff around, I wandered about and stood around with the other customers piling up around the empty lanes. A car or two were pulled up by staff but, no—not these. These were not for pickup. It grew into an “every man for himself” scenario pretty quickly, when available cars did show up. Slim pickings. I was supposed to get a “Jeep Cherokee or comparable,” and ended up with a Nissan Rogue (NOT comparable) after 40 mins of growing desperation. The guy next to me was visibly angry I “snatched” up this vehicle, as other customers were, since there was ZERO customer support on the lot to facilitate pickups. The only staff were runners, and they definitely dropped the cars and ran, not wanting to get involved in helping anyone.Then, it took another half hour to get through the long exit line. One line was stopped forever—there was obviously an issue—but the staff’s response was to just not take any corrective action at all.Very little of this poor experience was attributed to the failure of any one individual. Some could have been quicker or taken initiative, but, overall, this comedy of errors represents a failure to manage this location properly. Not just manage it well; not even properly. It was utter dysfunction on every facet.Not ever using Hertz again. Sending this to corporate.

They don't keep a charge, and they make you feel like you have to recharge constantly, and they limit your ability to travel more than 15-20 min away. Takes 2 hours to charge 20%. Wanted to visit a friend in a remote area but couldn't because the nearest charging station was 30-40 miles away and would have had to sit there for 5 hours to charge 50% then when I made it halfway back to my original location would have had to sit for 5 hours again to make it all the way back
Ellen Timmers: I picked up a car the day after all the college graduations (5/15) and the team was SLAMMED, waits were crazy, cars were minimal etc. Regardless, the front desk staff was so kind, patient and helpful. I am sure they were having a nightmare of a day but you never would've guessed from the positivity, friendliness and helpfulness I received. Big shoutout to the team working that day!

Travis Waller: the vehicle i was given has zero attention to detail from the lack of being cleaned. the inside of the windshield was so nasty i had to stop and clean it before i could drive it. i also had to wait in the lobby for 2 hrs before getting a vehicle and there was only 1 person helping customers.
Shannon Brewer: If I could leave ZERO stars I absolutely would. I currently have a rental that I picked up a week ago due to my car being at a collision center. The morning started with Hertz not arriving to pick me up until 10, when they were supposed to be there at 9:15. The car they picked me up in to take me to the Hertz location was disgusting. There was a biscuit on the floor and crumbs all over the seat I had to sit in. There was film and spilled liquids all over the console of the car. Unsure if this location is using personal cars for transport of passengers or not. The car had an Unlimited Towing parking sticker on it, which is local to Raleigh. Once I got to the location I then had to wait for an hour and a half for a reservation I already had planned for 3 weeks. Finally after waiting for almost 2 hours I received an absolutely disgusting vehicle. There is a horrible smell of cigarettes in the car, causing me to not be able to breathe while driving the vehicle. There are cigarette marks in the seat, crumbs everywhere, buttons do not work, melted spots on the dash?, scratches all over the car and tires that are bald and have spots peeling off of them, and breaks that squeal every time I stop. I have never in my life had such a disgusting rental car and I do not feel safe in the vehicle. Unfortunately the day I picked up the car I had worked night shift overnight the night before and had to return to work that evening, resulting in having absolutely no energy to wait any longer to attempt to get a different car. I have called multiple times and gotten no answer, so I am still stuck with the nasty vehicle until my car is repaired, which will likely be two more weeks. As the rest of the reviews on here demonstrate, management will simply place a generic response and do nothing.

Gurinder Saini (GUS): Actually ZERO stars. On Saturday morning, setup pickup for 11:30 AM for a Tesla Model 3. We had to wait for over 1.5 hours because 2 guys were assisting multiple customers. It seems for each one they had to make multiple trips outside to first select a car do the paperwork and then clear a car and then setup the driver. Then go to next customer. Slowest rental process i have ever seen. After 1.5 hours, came my turn. And they informed me, we DO NOT have a Tesla for you!!! With an after though apology!! Could not believe it. I travel regularly but rarely use neighborhood car rental locations. But never ever experience this. My recommendation, avoid this location if possible. So disappointed.

And then he went to help Lyft customers. If you are here for Lyft, you are lucky. Barrington Hutchinson: I was to pick up a Tesla 3 and when I arrived the car was dirty, had scratches, the rims scuffed and the trunk only opened halfway. The agent ‘Drake Broome” did no walkthrough to explain the operation of the car. I stayed in the parking lot for 30 minutes to understand the operation of the vehicle. I was never told I would be billed for any charging since you must have an account to charge Tesla’s. The car did not hold the charge, after 10 minutes the charge dropped from 87% to77%. I called and spoke with the manager “Christopher Browning” who told me I can not switch cars unless I did an upgrade. I argued that that is not valid since I received a defective car and poor customer service. I was then given a base model white Nissan Rogue Sport with scratches on every surface, dents in the door sill and gum on the driver side floor mat. After driving for 75 miles the car said “Malfunction” I was in Fayetteville by the airport and I tried to switch cars at the hertz location. I was told I cannot since allHertz are independently owned and I must contact customer service on my own. I was given no other option but to rent another car and told that would be $1500. I’m done using Hertz!!!
AMOGHA R.B: Plan well ahead to pick the car because you will easily spend hours of time waiting to be served. The delay is too much that they take around 20-25 mins per customer. These people are extremely slow. Never choosing this branch again.

Sarah Compton: I was rear ended, and my insurance set up a rental through Hertz. They were scheduled to pick me up from the body shop. They called me as I pulled into the shop, informed me they ran out of cars, and that they would not pick me up. They left me stranded 45 minutes from home as the body shop was closing. I'm still injured, and had to find somewhere to wait until my husband could pick me up. Their solution was that they would figure out a car for me in the morning, and then no longer answered my calls when I called back to try to get some clarity (they were still open).

Jacqueline Humphrey: Hertz is located inside the Westgate Collision building. I had the best experience at Hertz Westgate in Raleigh. With the exception of the hoops needed to reach them by phone, the two people with whom I worked were great. I started my experience with the manager from the Fayetteville store who was temporarily working in Raleigh. He was absolutely awesome! The young man to whom I returned the car and drove me to the repair shop was great as well. Personable, cheery, and service oriented.

Dollar Car Rental: what do users think?
Edward Engelhardt: Awful experience. Had my original renting price doubled due to a representative adding insurance fees (which I did not need, due to having my own insurance and also booking insurance at the time of reserving the rental) and have had no attempt to reimburse or even try to make things right. The staff member (not even behind the Dollar counter) simply mumbled something with the word insurance thrown in, which I believed to be him asking me if I had insurance. Turns out that was his way of making even more money. $700 for a 5 day rental is absolutely ridiculous - I had a rental for 3 weeks with enterprise which was nearly the same price, no funny business. This is completely inexcusable and truly shows why the company is called ‘Dollar’ - it seems money is the only thing the company actually cares about. I will surely not be using their services ever again, and strongly advise others to follow suit. I am still awaiting a response to how they plan to make this right. I’d give 0 stars if the option was available. Terrible business & business model. This will be reported to the better business bureau as well.

Pamela Howard: I had forgotten that Dollar tried to charge me for gas fraudulently the last time I rented from them. This branch did it again. $10 a gallon for gas when I returned the car full and filled it less than a 1/2 a mile from the return location. They charged me $20 and the car was full. I spent 2 hours of my time chasing down their customer service to have them take it off my bill. These people are total scam artists.
Spencer Pierce: The car itself was great but getting the 97$ toll fee bill was shocking to say the least. I was never given options on how to pay my tolls or how they even worked. they charge a 15$ admin fee per toll. for a .76 cent toll I owed 15.76 and so on. for a total of six tolls totaling to 97$. I will never use dollar car rental again.
Chopper 1981: I paid 168.44 for a FOUR HOUR rental out of MHT in NH. I would love to know why Enterprise rents the same size car for 86.00 a DAY. I also would like to know if Dollar stands behind their name in being fair. I am retired, a Veteran, and that charge was exorbitant to say the least. Thank you for your quick response.

Essies Delights: The original rental had a brake issue. I was able to get a replacement, but the replacement ended up with no transmission. I had to travel on 95 risking my life and others in the car for unsafe vehicles. The 3rd rental was very reliable, however I was charged extra for gas on the 2 & 3rd rental. When I returned the 2nd replacement car to Wake Forest. I was credited for the gas. I’m currently waiting on a call from the regional manager Jacob H to receive a complete refund.This was the most horrific experience, all while trying to get my disabled mom to her sister funeral.Trying to reach Customer Service is a joke. I only received immediate interaction after I went to Twitter.

It's unacceptable when they won't even answer the phone at a location. We have tried multiple times to get a live person and the phone at that location just rings off the hook and hangs up. David Van Dyke: I paid in advance for an 8:00am rental pickup. At 7:50am I get a call stating that they do not have the rental that I reserved. They may be able to get it in a couple of hours. Told them that would put me out of my window and to cancel. They couldn't cancel it and gave me a 1-800 #. Upon going through the menu, the automated message stated that there would be a 5% charge for canceling with a live person. Simply ridiculous!!! But if I use the app, I would be charged a cancelation fee. So I chose to speak with a live person. After finally getting her to understand the situation, she stated that it was canceled. But I would not receive my refund for 7 to 10 business days. Didn't take them 2 minutes to collect my money. I was not offered any future discount for my inconvenience, and have received no e-mail confirmation for the cancelation to this point. So now I will have to monitor this and contact them in a few days to confirm it has actually been processed. These mega chains are totally disjointed and care nothing about the customer experience; only about what is convenient for them.

Ralph Brown: Just attempted to return car. They had a sign up: Went to drop off customer. Will return shortly. I waited for 15 minutes. A representative from Kia walked out and noticed me waiting. The rep then said he didn’t know why I was waiting because the Hertz Rep was sitting right there in a car. I walked over to the car that had been sitting there the entire time and asked if he was the Hertz Rep. The Rep confirmed he was. I asked why didn’t he get out to assist when he saw me standing there the entire time. Said he was “getting something out of the car”. The Rep then proceeds to let me know it wasn’t his job to return cars but he could help OR I could wait for the other rep to return. Simply ridiculous!!!
Firephoenix: Giving it 3 stars because no one answers the phone there. I've called several times and no one picks up after going through their automated hoops. The car was great, got an upgrade to a crossover vehicle from a regular sedan free. It would more stars if they just answer the phone.

The one guy that does everything works soooo hard typing in the computer, printing receipts and contracts , moving cars, doing inspection , sometimes he's the same one vacuuming. He works so hard and he needs help bcs he cannot do EVERYTHING he does alone. This is why the wait time here are hours long, it's one person doing everything. He's a great guy but he's overworked. Also the teeny parking lot is ridiculous. U can barely get parking or do a u turn on their premises. So ridiculous.

JT Lee: IDK why there aren't any reviews here but should be! My rental process was straightforward, simple, well-detailed, and fully serviced. I was vehicle-upgraded for free as a result of stock availability which I realize is not a huge deal but its a very nice touch and many companies could have debated or challenged upgrade charges, or complicated the process, or simply declined me as a customer. Instead, Hertz on Capital seamlessly made a solution for a short stock problem without any additional trouble to me. They handled my insurance arrangement easily and provided a very nice, perfectly clean SUV for my travel needs. They stayed in touch with a flexible approach for when I needed to return the car based on repairs of my personal car. The exterior of the area/building is definitely not the most welcoming, but "not the cover that counts" - and the employees here and service provided were excellent. I will return there if needed in the future. Thanks all!

Jessica Roundy: National Car Rental at RDU airport is awesome! They are very professional, organized, kind, and ready to help. They also have an ice cold water bottle ready for you as well. Would highly recommend!
natarajan Rajagopalan: Great customer service. The manager at the RDU airport was prompt and very helpful in resolving the rental issue with the car.
Joseph Livolsi: After a two and a half hour delay I was concerned that the shuttle at RDU had stopped running after we landed at 1:45 AM. To my surprise the National shuttle came looking for us at 2:30 AM. The shuttle driver and the lone employee greeting us at the Emerald aisle were life savers! I regret that I was not aware enough to get their names and praise them publicly.
Makaila Mason: Had the best experience renting here. The minivan was really nice! When we returned it, the crew was so incredibly kind. They noticed the car door had a clicking noise which I had noted at check out so they offered a discount to make up for it (totally unnecessary but so appreciated!) then they helped carry my car seats over to the bus! Thank you!!!

Harvey Ratanpal: Its always a hassle-free process with National. Their "Emerald Aisle" makes the whole process so easy. They also don't gouge you with refueling fees. I've forgotten to refuel a National rental a couple times and they only charge you a dollar or two over the average per gallon rate. I've had National's competitors charge me up to $15/gallon for refueling a rental in the past.

Charles with his smile and positive attitude and his helpfulness and quick to action to help me my 6 kids and my disabled mother on the bus he even went beyond to make sure to help my mother on the bus and gave her the first seat on the bus ans loaded all 13 bags for us you guys have a amazing employee there and to top it all off the girls at the desk were amazing and so sweet and helpful and even had someone pull our car up for us amazing location will definitely start using national more often with this type of superb customer service

Lenny Pompeo: The vehicle was not on a full tank and the back seat was not cleaned. There was a tube of lipstick left in the cupholder that should have been thrown away.

My travels often include last minute adjustments and National Car Rental has always worked with my flight delays, cancellations, and much more. Their rental vehicles are always in good working condition, and clean. The employees are easy to interact with and make the experience that much more enjoyable. I look forward to renting from them for years to come.
Malek Milner: If I could give 0 stars on this location I honestly would. I booked a reservation two months in advance through my company that partners with them and spoke to several national representatives that ensured me that I would not have a deposit since I was on a round trip flight but when I get to the location I was told I had to pay an additional $400 deposit since I have a NC drivers license (even though I live in TX, and have a round trip flight back to TX). I’ve been to this same location before and had NO deposit. After speaking to a manager and the issue still not being resolved I was denied a ride to another on-site rental location so I had to walk in the 90 degree weather with a 50 pound suitcase to another rental location. I would not recommend this location to anyone else.
Steven Kelley: From the moment the National shuttle bus picked me up to the time I returned the car, National provided top notch customer care that has sold me on their brand. From now on, I will only rent from National.
