    4worldlovers: At Orchid, we provide a different style of buffet, one that does not have food just drying out on a steam table. Food, especially sushi, just isn't good once it has been sitting out in the open for too long. We offer a full service made-to-order buffet, in which you are provided with order sheets at each table to fill out and make your selections.

    Once you have made your selection, just turn on the tap light at your table and one of our staff will have the chefs start preparing your order for you to enjoy. After your order is completed and you have finished the round of food, your order sheet will be returned and you can then repeat the process again for as many rounds as you like! It is that simple!

    All You Can Eat is only available if your entire group agrees to participate. For groups that do not wish to participate in the All You Can Eat experience, we offer a regular menu just like any other restaurants.

    For parties of 5 or more, please call ahead and set up a reservation!

    For AYCE service,18% Service Charge will be added to the total and 20% for groups of 10 or more.

Unlike before, they type out the auto 18% tip on the check and they just take the card to swipe it off, this time the waitress holding the POS machine in front of us waiting for us to choose how many tip to leave. The minimum was 18%. Then I have realized they charge tip on tax was well. So 29.95 was AYCE w/o tax, 32.42 was AYCE w/ tax, then I paid 5.84 on tip which is 18% of 32.42z Why do I need to pay tip on the taxes? Tax is not a service you guys provided. And why there is a person staring at me for leaving tips? This is uncomfortable and I have never see other restaurants do this.

I must've not read it well but for dinner, it turns into an ayce for $30 per person, which I think is great for the price, considering the sushi is included. I recommend their tempura (shrimp and sweet potato), it was great. the crab rangoons were great too. don't get the calamari. it had a weird taste to it, maybe a bad batch (?). I would also avoid the salmon skin sushi. The skin was too chewy and clearly old, because freshly made salmon skin would be crispy and not as tough. Overall, good place to eat.

    Lydia Forehand: Great sushi! We got the all-you-can-eat dinner. It’s easy to order, and the orders come out relatively fast, unless you order a whole lot at a time. The Rhino roll is delicious. Despite what I’m seeing many reviews say, the food seems fresh and it is good for the most part. The crab rangoon (crab and cheese wonton) is also good. They offer “create your own” sushi for those who don’t like the many options, and you can put whatever in it. If you have the all-you-can-eat, try the green tea ice cream! Only downside is that it’s somewhat expensive, and you do get charged if you don’t finish. The service is alright, sometimes slow or curt, but overall good. Everyone seems nice. Overall, this is a great place and I have been back several times!

    After moving from CA, it was a struggle to find a good place to get sushi. I've been ordering from Hayashi for a few years now and it's hands down the best place I've tried in here so far. Their rolls have a very good combination of flavors and their fish always tastes fresh. The tempura and the firecracker shrimp appetizers are also nice.

    Moira: Very friendly staff, they all greet you as you walk in the door. Plenty of sushi options that were tasty and at fair prices for the size rolls you get. They also have a ton of Saki options that range from cheap to expensive. You mark what you want on a sheet that they hand to the sushi chef, which is the only thing I did not like. Seems very unsanitary with multiple hands touching the sheet and having touched the table and counters, and then looked like the chef handled it while making your roll. This system could use a more sanitary improvement. Tried the maple brown sugar "pancakes" and they lacked quite a bit in my book. Good flavor but was very small for the cost and from what I expected and have seen posted on Raleigh food sights. Only got one very thin pancake. Overall, would go back for the sushi and Saki if the ordering system were modified.Edit: Recently went back and the ordering system seemed to change. Orders were put in on the computer instead of handed to sushi chef by way of the aforementioned paper slip. Thank you!

    Brian: I’ve seriously taken way too long to give Hayashi a review. I’ve been going to this restaurant for the past 15 years. The owners are wonderful people. They have a knack for finding staff who bring a strong game for the restaurant’s vibe - which is a small and cozy place to go unwind and enjoy the company of others, with absolutely incredible food. The sushi is always great - I bring friends who have travelled to Japan and they say the sushi rivals top-tier restaurants they visited there. They are very serious about the quality of the fish and the overall craft of sushi. The kitchen offers some real gems as well.. I look forward to continuing to visit Hayashi for as long as I can.

    life Happens (Jim Butts): Well, all I can say is what a terribly disappointing lunch. I understand everything is expensive now but it’s just so aggravating to spend $14 and get something that you don’t even enjoy. Ordered hibachi steak and although the taste of the meat was good, every piece was tough and half of the pieces had gristle through it, rendering it virtually uneatable. I can say the rice was OK, but it’s pretty hard to mess up Rice. I think this is simply a case of a restaurant that chooses to squeeze every last penny out of its customers, even if it means using the cheapest products It can buy, and unfortunately it shows I did give them two stars instead of one because the staff was pleasant, and the food was provided promptly.

    bill burroughs: I got 2 plates. One with hibachi chicken and one with chicken and shrimp. This came with rice and vegetables. The chicken in both orders was totally dry and chewy. It clearly had been left sitting on the grill too long. There was no hibachi or any type sauce that would give it flavor or keep it moist. It did not look like the posted pictures. The rice had no flavor of any kind and the white sauce that came in packets was as thin as water. Had to discard both the orders after a few bites. This place may need more oversight from an owner to ensure tasty food is well prepared and served.

I tasted my food when I got back to work and it was extremely cold and was not seasoned at all. The “white sauce” was in a packet and was watery and didn’t taste like anything either. I called to tell them what happened and asked if I could be refunded the $10.83 but the lady said I’d have to bring the FOOD BACK for a discount. I will not be returning here, please go elsewhere for quality hibachi.

    Camerons Culinarium: TOP NOTCH! From the service, to presentation, to the most important part, the flavor. They have a really unique menu, with your basics, and then some really upscale twists on classics. I had the truffle salmon appetizer, and it was so fresh, and the flavors combined with each other perfectly. I had the Girl On Fire roll, and the presentation alone was enough to sell me, but the freshness and combination of everything together in this roll was next level. No soy sauce or wasabi necessary. Just eat it as is and you will not be disappointed. The service was super fast and friendly. I came in at lunch time and was able to sit right down. I will definitely be back, and couldn't recommend this place enough.

The second time however I kept asking for her to read the order to me and I told her twice my order and instead she rushed me off the phone and still got my order wrong. My order was messed up twice and the second time I requested for sodas for the inconvenience. They didn’t want to accommodate me. So I canceled my order and I will NEVER come back to this place.     Mahogany Primus: Rude! Don’t give enough condiments for your food and makes you pay way more for extra than any Hibachi restaurant around. The prices are high and ridiculous for the food to be dry and tasteless. I’m very dissatisfied in this establishment and the way they treat the community they chose to be in. They are extremely rude and have double the prices ever since they’ve opened (doubled them before COVID). They are the most expensive Hibachi 88 restaurant in the area.     Clean House: This place is not fit to eat at. I would not even refer my worst enemy to eat there. The rice is soggy the 6 piece wings is really three wings cut in half. Chicken is hard and yellow. Beef and chicken in the Hibachi Trio is cut in real small pieces. The so call VEGETABLESwas one piece of squash and 2 pieces of brocolli in there. They chimp on the ingredients so bad. Then I asked waitress for duck and soy sauce she got highly upset and through it in the window pan. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING.
    Beloved One: Will not order from here again ever. I placed an order for the Spicy Honey Chicken and it came with rice. The rice was mushy and the chicken was chewy. We waited over double that time (about 1 hr 15 mins), and soon enough had to ask the host what the deal was. She claimed that those who have made late reservations get to go ahead of all of those in the waiting queue. Never was that stated to any of us beforehand, nor was the wait time, including those with late reservations, impacted to be a better estimated wait time. We finally got seated a few minutes later after saying I would go eat elsewhere and telling her how to run the wait queue properly.
