LORRAINE GAUVIN: I understood when I agreed to be in the latest fashion show by this company that it was a free job, however I would not work for them again, even if it was paid. I feel like communication among all of the members in this business is poor, and planning is very unorganized. I personally really liked the business owner and designer, but I feel like the company is not very organized or professional when planning events. First, when the show was postponed by a month, the only reason I found out was because I called the owner with an unrelated question regarding the show. No emails or anything. A lot of the models were driving several hours and doing promotional work for the show without pay( I understand it was a non paid job). I was told that I needed to show up for promotional work and a second fitting one day before the show, so I drove out and no one was there. So I basically drove out the night before the show for absolutely no reason. Nothing was said to me about needing to bring shoes to the show so I showed up with 1 pair. The designer informed me that I needed more shoes. So I ended up spending $300 on shoes when I could have brought more from home if I had been informed. Luckily I was able to return them for a refund. Everyone who was involved in planning the show was running late the day of, so the show started 30 min late. No rehearsals before the show so the models were basically on the runway not knowing where to stop and pose, ect. I wouldn’t do another show or work for this company. If you’re an aspiring model, please do your research before working for this company.

Ruby Edmonds: These people, Jennifer (owner), Bridget, Lisa, John and the entire crew, are all in kahoots together, taking people's money. I was contacted by Avanti saying that I was selected to do a virtual audition and was sent 4 commercials to choose from. Me wanting to further my career as an entertainer, I was excited! I did the virtual audition doing an outstanding job, I was selected to go To the next level.. well they want it $795 up front had a choice of paying the whole thing on that day or break it down with the down payment of $195 and 2 payments arrangements of $300. Promising 4 hour classes in every area of modeling and talent, photo shoot with a free CD, makeup and hair stylist are all included. Along with scheduling auditions, resume assistance and all. Well they ended up getting more money for a showcase in Raleigh. The second real rehearsal took place a day before this showcase. The hair dressers did not know how to do African American hair and it was a problem for me as soon as I spoke to Bridget about it. They kept taking money. Not one producer or casting scout was at the showcase as promised. We paid out too much money and received no resume assistance, no CD from the photo shoot no free makeup for the photo shoot, paid another $50 just to get a CD of your group in the showcase. The staff talked to us very nasty. I have received 3 emails from Desiree saying that I was selected to do a virtual audition. They forget who they already scammed! Bottom line, the owner Jennifer stated "they are looking for money" talking about the invisible producers and casting scouts. Well so are you Jennifer!! All of you have to stand before the throne one day to be judged! Until yall stop spamming people out of their money, you will not prosper! FOLK PLEASE BEWARE!

Jane McClanahan: Attending JC was one of the best unexpected decisions of my life. I was approached at by one of their agents at a local Mall. My age of 71 as not a deterrent to them. I decided to attend and was immediately taken by the enthusiasm of the young people attending. The young people and staff energized and encouraged me from the beginning. The training, photography and coaching was excellent. Since then I have modeled and did photo shoots in seven states. I also did a commercial for Hellmans Mayonnaise. I highly recommend John Casablanca.
