Brown-Wynne Funeral Home & Crematory: what do users think?
Nakia Sampson: ☆☆Let me start by saying, the services of funeral home and crematory goes above and beyond in a very professional manner when the dealings of the departure of a loved one.☆☆My issue is with Ernesto & Aisha. I worked here briefly as a removal technician. I was pretty much thrown into the wolves. Excessive paperwork and genuine labor within a 8 hour shift. New career that I actually like doing. I gat the physical part down yet the paperwork was a bit challenging for me. Keep in mind I gat a rushed through training by various co workers there dealing with multiple personalities. I asked a co-worker to help me and he did to his best ability and was told I can practice paperwork sections so I can get better at that. I went to my supervisor Ernesto he told me no worries we about to switch over to a new system anyway. When it was my 1st time to do my on call #2 shift that evening I was prepared for physical part yet the paperwork never came through to my phone but to the #1 on call person who was Aisha. She had an attitude (due to personal reasons) right off the back because she wanted me to do by myself. The decedent weighted 100lbs. I could go alone dont mind yet no paperwork which she assumed I had already knew. I recorded her as she came to join me so we can handle the call. Turned out to be a success. Now the 2nd call was when it came in the middle of the nite. Again, Aisha with the attitude came back told me didn't ask me if I wanted to drive. Didn't help me set up the binder or cot. So I drive get there no answer at the facility than finally gat someone. Minimal assistance from her, we get back. She signs the decedent in puts away than leaves me there. I am beyond fed up now and overwhelmed. So I do the best with what I remembered and recorded. I let Ernesto know what happened and I resigned right than and there. The following morning I was scheduled to work. Not concern or empathy, Ernesto main concern was the sheets, keys for stay over when on call duty housing and my work shirts. Very dismissive. Not even a call back. I wouldn't have quit if he took a few minutes out his busy day to talk to me about what happened. Must of been a sign for me to go because right after my van broke down so I had to relocate job in my home town in Durham. In closing, "This world would be a better place if had we had people with more kindness for each other."
Natalie Young: Losing my precious father has been profoundly difficult. Thanks to Marcus, who is one of the kindest people I have ever met, and the rest of Brown-Wynne, we have found some peace.
Eric Smith: Supportive, responsive and caring.
Mary W. Cohn: Our family has used Brown-Wynne for years. They are always warm and caring and professional. They will always be who we rely on when their services are needed.
Susan Turner: We were again very pleased with the services of Brown-Wynne. We used the business in August 2021 when my dad died and again in February 2023 when my mom died.Because our circumstances had changed, we had Mother's service here in Raleigh at Hayes Barton Baptist Church. It was really special having Mark Blake with us as he is also a member of Hayes Barton.I could not recommend Brown-Wynne more highly because of the dedication and professionalism of every single staff member. Thanks to all!Susan Shinn Turner and family
Paige McLaurin: Brown-Wynne took excellent care of our family when my father died. They took over the details immediately, they thought of everything, coached me and told me in easy-to-understand language what to expect. I recommend Brown-Wynne without reservation.
Chandrakanth Akkinepalli: Brown Wyne Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC provided exceptional service during my father's Last Rites ceremony. The staff was cooperative and helpful in ensuring that all the Hindu customs and rituals were followed at their crematorium. The multimedia capabilities also allowed you to stream the memorial service on Facebook, which was a great way for friends and relatives to pay their respects to my father. It is always difficult to say goodbye to a loved one, but Brown Wyne Funeral Home made the process as smooth and comfortable as possible. The facility was well-equipped to accommodate the customs and rituals specific to my family's traditions, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done correctly.Overall, if you are looking for a funeral home that will provide exceptional service and is accommodating to various religious and cultural practices, I highly recommend Brown Wyne Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC.
Anjali Kataria: Very knowledgeable on Hindu cremation practices. Entire team at Brown-Wynne was caring, kind and respectful of our wishes. Hall is truly a Hindu Cremation services expert.
Seth Mauseth: I never had to deal with a death of a family member up close and personal. My brother died suddenly and I was unprepared for his death. This was the first time I had to do funeral arraignments. When I call them, Marc Scruggs gave me my options in a very professional manner. To say these guys were great is an understatement. The took care of my brother and kept me informed of the process every step of the way. I am very grateful for what Marc and his organization did for my family at at very trying time in my life. I highly recommend them.
Cathy Coons: Mark was so helpful and gentle with us throughout the process of making arrangements after our daughter's sudden passing just a couple of weeks after her diagnosis.
Kristin Kash: I can not imagine a better funeral home experience than we had with Brown Wynne when my father passed 11 years ago, but when my mother passed a few weeks ago, it was just me to handle it. No other parent by my side. I never could have imagined how much help and support and leg work that Hall Edwards did to make the process easy. He was straight forward and prepared me for every single step. Guided me with every decision the entire process and was available and made everything happen without any undue stress on me. He was available by phone at the drop of a hat and double checked on every detail for me. He helped with a reception too including slideshow, food and flowers and set up. Hall Edwards at Brown Wynne is the best.
Jennifer Newton: The staff at Brown-Wynne were professional and supportive throughout the entire process. They provided thoughtful and compassionate guidance.
mike mo: The detail and empathy to which was displayed with Brown Wynne is unmatched. They handled my Dad's and my Mom's funeral and both times have shown the family only the very best of care and concern.
Deirdre M: I’m late in writing this review because it’s been such a difficult time, but I’d be seriously remiss if I failed to comment on the incredible support and care provided by Brown-Wynne, and Mark Blake in particular. My mother passed away suddenly, and my family was all out of state. We very fortunately chose Brown-Wynne because she hadn’t specified a funeral home. Our grief and my mother’s care could not have been handled with more dignity and reverence than we found here. I can’t say enough about the role they played at this most difficult of times. The whole family is so grateful to them.
Elizabeth Massey: Brown-Wynne provides extraordinary care & service during the most difficult time of your life. The entire staff works to be certain you are cared for and try to anticipate your needs. They work with you & walk you through every step of the process with professionalism and kindness. They turn a terrible moment into moments of warm memories and assurance that you & your loved one have been treated with grace & dignity.
Francisca Onyemize: Marcus Scruggs who was my Funeral Director. He was very empathetic during our time of grief. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was done correctly. I would recommend this funeral home to anyone anytime any day. Thank you for the love you showed to my family.
Bill Clarke: They were competent, kind and compassionate.
Revis James: The staff, particularly Hall, were very responsive, courteous, and accommodating. Everything has gone very smoothly and as we hoped. We’re very appreciative of the care and service that we received.
Kathy Worley: Brown-Wynn’s helped us to express our grief with kindness and dignity. We highly recommend their services.
Marianne Howell Wright: Brown-Wynne did a pre need contract for my mother. When she passed away it was wonderful to have all the arrangements made and have Brown Wynne take care of everything in a very professional way.
Marti Sparrow: Everyone we dealt with, both before and during the planning process for my mother’s funeral, was so compassionate and caring. We needed advice and input for several details, and they were more than honest and helpful in guiding us toward what would work best and please our family members most. They truly made a difficult experience as comforting as possible and called multiple times to check on us and to make sure we were still satisfied with our decisions. I highly recommend them.

Lea Funeral Home and Cremations: what do users think?
Brianna Adams: The services for my friend Jaronte Bennerman was beautiful & he looked great
Sandy Joyner: Great and professional services during the homegoing of our brother Ricky Johnson.I strongly and highly recommend their services to anyone who needs a professional and peaceful transition.
Kelly Watkins: Lea Funeral Home recently handled my Mother's Home- going service. They were attentive, sensitive, and patient when helping us through this most difficult time. Everyone was professional from the start to the end of the process. I would definitely recommend their services. God bless their staff.
Nyema N. Patterson: It was like being in front of your family!
Robin Rawles: It was a nice. The funeral staff was very nice.
April Howard: I will never forget the lack of service and compassion I received from Rudy Lea himself. My family and I had only been in NC for 2yrs when my mother passed suddenly. Lea can highly recommended. So when my sisters and I met with Mr. Lea, he had no empathy or compassion and showed no sorrow for our loss. We expressed to Mr. Lea that we were waiting for the insurance money and things, (my mother just passed a day before our meeting) his EXACT words "If you don't have my money, I cannot help you" and he kindly escorted my sisters and me out of his establishment. He was meeting my family at the worst moment of our lives and all he cared about was padding his pockets. The absolute WORST experience of my life. I will never use this establishment. I understand it's a business, and it boils down to money, but you don't have to make your motive so blatant.
Patrese Nesbitt: Hello-If you are planning to send your loved one here, please avoid Mr. Prince. If the funeral home insist upon assigning you to Mr. Prince, take your business elsewhere. Thankfully, between Patrick and Jackie, they fixed up (what they could because Mr. Prince messed up a lot) what they could.Mr. Prince was completely unreasonable. While this set up was unique to him (buried both mom and grandma because they passed on the same day), He lied to both myself and stepdad on the date of when to have the actually the service in the sanctuary. Then he would not even allow us to choose, he was forcing us to change the date, after we told our family the date of the funeral, and after we signed the contract to pay, over $10,000 for both my mom and grandma. He kept loosing information we have provided him multiple times, he kept misplacing information, to the point the funeral home kept emailing us asking us the same information Mr. Prince was asking us; after we talked about the hairstylist for my mom, he almost didn’t budge on the time (because the stylist does have a full time job). There are a host of things to discuss about how unprofessional Mr. Prince was with us, but I will not for my sweet mom and grandma are in a better place. Much Thanks to Patrick and Jackie (and the other drivers). Mr. Prince lacks compassion, and I do pray, that one day, the company works with him to understanding the importance of compassion. But as I mentioned, if forced to work with Mr. Prince, either request someone else or go somewhere else.
The Fishers: You're in good hands....Although the circumstance in which we met was unfortunate. It was refreshing to know that I was in good hands as I made the necessary decisions for my loved one. From start to finish and even months later, they provided the necessary support to get through one of the toughest moments in life - PRICELESS! The understanding and level of care is top notch. I would highly recommend them for your service needs - very professional, patient and courteous. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Paul L. Anderson: Handled arrangements and details in an excellent manner. We were very satisfied.
Sara Landis: I searched “funeral homes” on Google (having no idea where to start) and hoping to find the right place to help with arrangements for my father and I could not have asked for a better service to honor my father’s life. Everyone at Lea treated us with nothing but respect and they were all so kind. I feel very blessed to have been able to work with Lea Funeral Home and I cannot thank them enough for everything they did in helping us during this difficult time.
Arnall Harris: I am out of state, but my brother lives in North Carolina and picked this funeral home due to great reviews. I must say, Lea Funeral Home was the best during this difficult time our family was enduring. They had my mother's obituary information on the website the same day we went to discuss funeral arrangements. The staff was extremely courteous to include Mrs Lea herself. They made themselves available when we needed them, without any complaints. I was very satisfied with their services and glad my brother chose the right funeral home for our mother.
Pauline Dennis: I recently experienced the loss of my oldest son Xavier "Cloudy Nueve" Dennis Lea's funeral was there for me from the very beginning. They were very sympathetic and understanding and accommodated my every need and want. I appreciate all that they have done for me and my family. They went above and beyond and I will never forget there assistance during the most difficult time in my life. Thank each and everyone of there at Lee's Funeral Home.
Lea FuneralHome: You all are so genuinely kind each time you have served our family and we appreciate that so much. Thank you for your service to the community.Elder Nina P. WeldonNovember 18, 2019
Bobby Moore: My father passed away and we went with lea funeral home for our service. Nathan treated our service as if it was his own fathers. We had a military funeral and he took care of everything. It was nice not having to deal with all that so our family could focus on honoring our father. The service was beautiful and ran like clock work. Nathan even personally drove the limo. It was way more than i expected. They did such a good job on his DVD that we decided to play it during the service. I know it was exactly how my dad would have wanted the service and Lea funeral home helped us celebrate his life and legacy.
Phyllis Cooper: THE. LEA FAMILY ARE IN MY PRAYERS OVER THE. YEARS MR. LEA HAS DONE A WONDERFUL JOB. OF FUNERAL ARRANGEMENT FOR MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY
tiki wrighton: Our family has allowed Lea Funeral Home to care for our loved ones for as long as I can remember. They have always shown great professionalism, care, empathy, and treated us like family. During this past week, we lost a family member and they provided great service as always.

Wendy Minson: We were so comforted during our time of grief by the wonderful people at Mitchell Funeral Home. Though it was Christmas time, Steve Mitchell and his staff generously guided us through the process step-by-step, as though it was a normal time of the year. Every detail was gently worked through with us with compassion and professionalism. They have a true understanding of what it is like to lose a loved one. We are forever grateful to Steve and the staff.
Suzen McCann: Stephen helped my family and I get through the complicated process of burying my mom. He compassionately walked us through step by step to make it as easy as it could be given the circumstances. My family and I are thankful we chose Mitchell’s!
Kim Angeli: They were great with my Mom's service and helping me with all the details. Great experience at a difficult time.
Alan Hood: Staff was very supportive during a difficult time. We had preplanned most everything so the process went quite smoothly, just some finalizing to be done right after passing. The offerings ranged from simple to more elaborate. Staff very respectful and professional.
Jack Humble: My wife and I were very pleased with the service we received. It was in addition to being a pleasant experience with Carol Whitmire, she was very professional and enlightening. Although we do not plan to use ure services for a while we are comfortable in knowing that everything is planned out for when we transfer and move up to our new location. That our children will have a stress free time wrapping things up for us. Thank You very much.
D T: We were treated respectfully and promptly. Very caring and professional.

Kevin Ashley: To anyone reading this review, trying to decide whether or not to choose this funeral home, please continue reading. We were devastated at the loss of my granddaughter at the age of 2 years and 11 months. I had never planned a funeral, and obviously not one for the death of a child.Amy Barr and all the rest of the staff were absolutely phenomenal. I don't normally leave reviews and I never leave a 5 star review, because there is always room for improvement. I can honestly say that the people at this location are perfect, and absolutely have no room for improvement. From helping to plan the service to filling necklaces to working with the cemetery for a seamless transfer, everything was perfect. I received many, many compliments about how everything looked and how smooth everything went, and that had very little to do with me. All I did was sign some papers and provide a couple of documents and some pictures and they did everything else. They were so attentive to detail, one of the ladies there saw that I had some strings on my jacket and went and grabbed some scissors to cut the strings off for me. I had planned to record the service, but they offered to do that, which allowed me to spend my time with family. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did. If you have a loved one that has passed, you will not find a better place that will give the respect and compassion that is needed to make a difficult time less stressful than it already is. The service that was provided was above and beyond any expectations that I had.Thank you to the staff, and to Amy Barr specifically.
Carla Belanger: What a lovely group of people to work with....from the moment my father passed and I called Stephen, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that we were in excellent hands. Everyone was fantastic, Amy and Stephen are AMAZING and we cannot thank you all enough for treating us like family.
Pixi Gable: I was very pleased with the quality of service at Mitchell Funeral Home. The director and staff showed us care, attention to detail, and professionalism throughout our interactions.
Randy Hodges: The whole team at Mitchell took great care of our family. Appreciate the great service that was provided during a difficult time.
David Waters: Carol Whitmire was the representative that helped us understand completely what was involved in and required for establishing our pre-need funeral transaction with Mitchell/Dignity. She is very, very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all our questions, and we feel very comfortable with our decision.
Betty Gonzalez: Thank you Stephen for providing me with the box to travel with my husband ashes and thank you Kelly for you help as well. I was so stressed about this and you both were so kind and helpful. I am extreamly greatful for your assistance.
Julia McCracken: I share only extremely positive feedback in regards to the manner and professionalism displayed during the handing of my Father’s passing. Amy went above and beyond to make this as pleasant as possible. I strongly suggest the utilization of Mitchell Funeral Home for anyone needing these arrangements.
Vickie McGee: Thanks so much to Kelly Emory and the rest of the staff for being so great to work with recently when we lost a beloved family member. The entire staff was helpful, professional, dependable and respectable while handling all of our of needs. I would highly recommend using Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park!

Mona Scipio: Haywood Funeral Home laid my mom to rest on July 7,2020 they did an amazing job, my family was very pleased, we thank you guys so much Thank you ❤🙏
J. Pender: Haywood has been a pillar in our community since before I was born and have provided services for my family frequently over the years, however it was recently that I experienced their superior service personally. I met with Sonya to discuss an outdated pre-paid insurance policy and preneed services. She was fast and efficient in getting an answer for any questions she could address. Little did I know, I would be back at her office two weeks later to make arrangements for my aunt. The funeral home honored everything discussed previously at the rates discussed, worked with me & my family for scheduling and never questioned anything we decided to do as we honored my aunt. Karl did an outstanding job preserving my late aunt and Sonya dressed her beautifully making sure that her beauty and detail to her appearance in life was not lost in death! My aunt's appearance eased some of our pain in losing her so unexpectedly. Their services didn't stop at the burial but continued with cards at different holidays. I will forever be grateful for everything they did for me and my family.
Terri Benton: Haywood Funeral Home (Karl) was a pleasure to work with. He made sure all of our requests were met and did so in a timely and professional manner. Thank you.
Carrie Bizzell: This seems like a nice. Place saw advertising on. T.v. i would recomend this place for passionate care.
Sharon Ricks: Always busy
Monica Cloud: Haywood Funeral Home displayed great compassion and professionalism while working with them. They have been a staple in the community and have received overwhelming and well-deserved praises for decades. The family has continued to evolve in the business over the years as they have expanded, taking into consideration the needs of individuals for loved ones who have to utilize their services while maintaining a family feel.
Dashieka Bennett: I Love the service they gave for my mom!!! I gave 5 stars but, wish I could give more!!!! My Dad service was here and they did a WONDERFUL job in 2001 and in 2013 for my mom was WONDERFUL!!!
Mr X: I've used Haywood Funeral Home 3 times, to bury my mother , grand mother, and grand father, and the service is impeccable, these guys offer top level service, and have a very professional staff. Renaissance Funeral Home and Crematory: what do users think?
Susan Cozart: Everyone I dealt with at Renaissance was very caring and professional. They followed through on all correspondence and explained everything that was necessary.
Erin Campbell: Thank you to Heather and all of the staff at Renaissance Funeral Home for all they did to help after my mom passed away. Their responsiveness was exceptional and their follow-up was always thoughtfully timed. I am most appreciative of their compassion, gentleness, and kindness, which was so genuine and deeply comforting to all of us. With gratitude, The Campbell Family
Jennifer Santos: Words cannot express how happy I am with this company.Renaissance went above and beyond in helping my family with my grandmother's death at 2:30am on cinco de Mayo. Within a half hour of my grandmother passing , a lady and a gentlemen came to my house to pick up my grandmother's body. Their professionalism, from expressing their condolences, the way they came properly dressed to how they carried themselves, was admirable and respectable. We didn't do a funeral as our family is super small and her desire was cremation but they were very accomodating to us. They were able to dress my grandmother in a gown i brought for her and drape her with her favorite blanket that I had given her as a christmas gift. My family and I was able to see her one last time and i tell you they did magic on her. My grandmother looked soo clean, she smelled so nice, so pretty, i couldnt help but burst in tears. We were able to touch her and kiss her and we all did just that. Joe and his team did an AMAZING job handling everything. Joe was in constant communication with me regarding when the day of actual cremation was going to be and asked me if I wanted to be there in which I agreed. What an experience! I didn't think i could do it but now i'm happy I did. Thanks to Joe and his staff. If you are looking for a funeral home, call Renaissance. They will not disappoint you.
lilyn taux: Thank you Josh and staff at Renaissance for helping my family get through the most difficult time in our lives with the passing of our mother. You love and compassion will never be forgotten . Sincerely Terri Wishart and family.
Cheryl McNeil: Everyone at RFH was a great help to my family when my father passed away. The staff was all very caring, sensitive to how we were feeling, and helped us through the whole process. They kept in touch with us through each step, and explained everything as many times as we needed, since our grieving brains didn’t process things the first time. No one wants to need a funeral home, but when the time comes for your family to use one, Renaissance is a fabulous choice.
Brooke Freeman: Renaissance Funeral Home acted quickly, thoroughly and with great compassion when my cousin passed away. They took care of every detail that they said they would and I would recommend this facility to anyone.
Sara King: I highly recommend Renaissance Funeral Home. I would give them more than five stars. Donny was knowledgeable, empathetic, patient, and responsive at a very difficult time. We had little familiarity about the decisions that needed to be made. Donny helped us through every step. We continue to feel good about the decisions we made. Kay and Donny continue to reach out to check on us, remember my father's birthday, and ask if there is anything we need. That level of care means so much. Thank you!
Cindy Wolfe: I cannot begin to thank Heather and the rest of the Renaissance Funeral Home staff enough for all they did to help and support me through a devastating loss. They were helpful, compassionate, thorough, knowledgeable, and respectful in every way. They were a huge blessing in our time of need. I highly recommend them!
Michelle Harvey: Josh and his team are magnificent
susan Frizell: Renaissance Funeral Home: It is with our deepest heartfelt thanks to Joe and the complete staff at Renaissance for handling my mothers funeral arrangement. What was the most difficult and saddest time off our lives was made bearable because of your extreme compassion, gentleness and patience. Thank you so much for your expert guidance, gentle humanity and taking care of all our needs. We were so impressed with all the small details they covered, the prayer cards and beautiful guest book. We are forever grateful and I highly recommend Renaissance Funeral Home.
Brenda Rose: I supporter ny husband as he used Renaissance for both his parents over the past 2 years. The staff was so supportive and customer service related. His parents had no plans for burial but the team there made it so easy to arrange beautiful services for both. Most recently, we worked with Donny and the team and had a beautiful service. The facilities are first class and so is the service. Highly recommend them during these difficult times
William Rose: Our experience was nothing but positive, especially considering the circumstances. We lost our mother somewhat unexpectedly and there had been no preplanning for funeral services. I reached out to 3 homes based on referrals and knew after talking with Collette that Renaissance was our choice. She was so reassuring and so helpful answering a lot of questions I had since I had never planned or dealt with a funeral service. Heather and Collette and all the staff there just made everything so easy and smooth. I cannot say enough about the personal service. My mom would have been pleased with the celebration we had with Renaissance. They are nothing short of phenomenal!Update...I recently had to bury my father and had jo hesitation going back to Renaissance. Donny, Kay, and team did another outstanding job helpus put a beautiful service together my father. They are wonderful
S Elder: My experience with Renaissance Funeral Home and Crematory was nothing short of wonderful. The entire team was knowledgeable, respectful, and extremely compassionate during an emotionally challenging time. Donny was a quiet, knowledgeable guide through our selection process and we found comfort through his expert attention to all the details including the execution of her cremation and pickup of the beautiful urn. Kay has been very supportive as well. Thank you, Renaissance, for your kindness and good service. We highly recommend.
Elizabeth Draper: Renaissance provided our family with guidance and compassion throughout the planning process, the funeral and the burial of our beloved son. He had requested a green burial and Renaissance was experienced and prepared to make this happen just as he wanted. Heather was our constant contact and amazing support. It was also obvious that the entire staff worked well together and supported each other. We were comforted and knew our son was cared for during this difficult time. We send our heartfelt thanks to Heather and Renaissance.
Susan Brumley: Losing a loved one is sad and overwhelming. I am so grateful for the support and services our family received from Renaissance Funeral Home. They were patient, knowledgeable and willing and capable of answering our questions and providing the services we needed. I’m so thankful we chose to work with the kind and caring staff at Renaissance.

Montlawn Memorial Park, Funeral Home & Cremations: what do users think?
Natalie Eargle: Too many but if my family was not there already we would move them all.
Evelyn Wirth: They took great job of taking care of my sister.
Shannon Barbour: So my grandparents and brother are buried in the military section and today I went there and everything I had put on there Graves was gone and I was told if it doesn't fit in the vase then it has no place which is very wrong considering some of the things had been out there for 2 years now and the rest for over a year and they had put it in the garbage I'm telling you I'm so furious that if I had enough money to move all 3 of my loved ones they would be gone without a doubt it's very disturbing that we pay for those spots we pay for tha property just to be told what we can put on it I really do not recommend they don't care what they are doing to the families of those people that are buried out there the had no remorse at all for what they have done and I wasn't the only one to complain
Mike Wilson: Find somewhere else to lay your loved ones to rest. Broken head stones all over the place, broken vases, sinking stones, and the maintenance team doesn’t care at all. I know for a fact there was 2 maintenance people caught drinking on the job and nothing was done to them. It was covered up and they allowed them to keep their job. I wouldn’t want my family being taken care of by inebriated workers. The holes that are dug are extremely unlevel and sometimes not deep enough or too deep. I’ve seen graves sunk in because they don’t tamp them like they are supposed to. They just drive all over the stones with machinery with total disregard to the head stones. Families pay to have the complete head stones installed and numerous stones have no vase buckets under the stones like they are supposed to. They have an amazing sales person Roberto who actually cares and does his job so families get what they pay for. As far as maintenance goes and care for the grounds it’s non existent.
Tim Brown: The process of funeral planning was caring and cordial as was the burial planning portion of selecting a plot, casket, vault, and grave marker for my parents who died six months apart. There were some issues getting the grave markers ordered and installed, but that was rectified in short order upon notifying the new management.
T Hinton: MICHAEL OAKLEY was a pleasure to work with at Montlawn Memorial Park. Thank you Mr. Oakley.
Jon S: Was quoted 3-6 months for delivery/install of standard memorial gravestone. Actual delivery was 14 months. Delays can be tolerated, what cannot be tolerated is the abysmal customer service. Over the course of 4 months leading up to receiving feedback it took 14 phone calls to be made aware of the delay. In each phone call, a promised call back from Montlawn was offered; no such feedback was received until 4 months of calling. Were unable to do a one year celebration of life due to poor service of cemetery. Were offered an apology and an excuse of being new/incompetent from management staff for our inconvenience. Please save your family the torture of having to suffer through this company's inability provide a reasonable standard of care that would be expected from a cemetery.
Sheree Scott: I have worked with Montlawn Memorial Park twice and each time they provided the need for our family. Michael Oakley was extremely helpful and patient throughout our entire process, making our load a little less heavy! I appreciate all Michael has done and I highly recommend his services to help your family!
Sara Landis: TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. I beg anyone to go elsewhere when putting their loved ones to rest. My father’s grave marker was broken off by some type of equipment last April and they have yet to fix it. $20,000 later and I call every other day with nothing being done. These people could care less about loved ones in the ground and only care about getting your money. Once things are paid for, the gravesite will not be maintained and you will never get the help that you need. I am absolutely appalled how someone could run a cemetery as a business like this. I thoroughly regret burying my father here with these selfish, inconsiderate people.
Michele Davi: Mr. Michael Oakley is THEEEEE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! I accompanied my dad as he had to plan and choose a final resting place for THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE. The process was effortless and we had quite a few laughs to take our mind off of our sorrow, not only did he take care of my dad with planning for my Bonus mom’s arrangements, we also began my daddy’s pre-planning, so that when his time comes, it will be easy for me. I am so VERY glad that I met Mr. Oakley and I look forward to working with him to plan my family’s final arrangements.
FRANCISCA ONYEMIZE: I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Michael during the passing of my father Mr. Benjackson. Mr. Michael was a phone call away to answer every of my questions. My family was treated with empathy and love. I would recommend Montlawn.
John Womack: This place was so unorganized. My mom passed in May they still do not have things corrected that was messed up
pam ziegler: I am writing this from Arizona. I have been trying to order a marker for over a month now. I have been transferred over and over again to different people that assured me they will get it taken care of and still nothing. I have talk to Randall, Benjamin, and Robert. Each time being told they found the file that they had lost and that they were going to make sure it was taken care of. However, I’m still waiting and waiting and no one calls me back and nothing has been done. This is a terrible way to treat a grieving family trying to honor the only and final request of a loved one that has passed. I don’t understand why it seems to be OK to treat a grieving family this way about such a simple request. I am at my wits end over here. It’s just not right. And from what I read on reviews I’m not the only one that is being put through this. There is no worst feeling in the world knowing that all you were trying to do is honor the wishes of a loved one and no one seems to care.
Pam sutton: Went to put flowers on 6 of our love ones grave today . Grass looked like haven’t been cutting in awhile . Markers were hard to see cover with grass that had grown on the marker. Had to clean off ourself’s. You promised to look after our love ones. Why are you not doing your job!
Gregory Lilly: I have been trying to get sales information for several months now, cannot get anyone to call me back.
Jamie & David Ayscue: I am echoing the same situation as others on here. My mama died in Feb 2021 and all she needs on her niche is a ‘date of death scroll’. I have called more times than I can count and have been in person several times. One time someone came out in the lobby and took my name and information and just like with all the phone calls promised to call back. They never do. Shelia Coates was the only person to help me in Dec 2021 when she found it had not been ordered as it should have and placed the order but as others here have stated she was no longer there when I called her after a couple of months to check on it. I would have thought after the troubleshooter on wtvd11 did a story about these issues Montlawn would have worked to be better but they have not. Everyone says ‘i am sorry no one has called you back but this time i or someone will’. They don’t. I have even sent an email to Stonemor and they never replied. My family has 7 members buried out at Montlawn and this is more than disappointing.
KEN HUNTER: Absolutely the worst most I compassionate person I have ever met in my 54 years of age. This Man absolutely needs to be fired and if you are sentenced to dealing with Micheal Oakley. Get with a supervisor and get away from this scam artist as quickly as possible.could not even answer questions he told us that we would have to book another appointment so that he could answer any questions. No need to read anything just sign here, just sign here, just sign here. In all my years experience as a police officer I’ve not been talked to by anyone like this unless they were convicts. If you the chance don’t even deal here! Oh yeah guys and gals if you take longer than 30 minutes like we were told if we are meeting there at montlawn at 3pm and you go over 30 minutes you will be charged $199. And then more depending on how many minutes you are past 3:30pm. Absolutely horrible employee that needs to be fired and maybe work at the city dump.
Deb Jones: Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience here. Staff changed during our aunt's services.. The urns did not fit in the niche properly, even though we asked if they needed to measure it. The funeral director said no. Messages are not returned promptly or at all sometimes. No one called SSA.gov to report my aunt's passing even though I asked several times.. 3 months later, still getting deposits. Awaiting 2 plaques for the niche. No response to inquiries.Choose another crematory and Funeral home. We will never use them again.
william Bristle: Unfortunately after reading the previous reviews I have found that I am not alone with my continuing issue with Montlawn. I would also rate a Zero if I could. We are having the same issue with the inability to have a grave marker installed. Numerous calls over the course of a year and no one there cares. Terribly run establishment and the staff there is incompetent. The most recent person I dealt with was Micheal. He was absolutely no help and not responsive at all. I highly recommend finding another Cemetery for your loved ones resting place. The grounds are not kept in very nice condition. I have five relatives buried here and wish none of them were.
Craig Furlough: Worst of the worst. I have been twice, called three times, no one was available to help but a call was promised. Still waiting for them to keep their word. If the three stoges ran a company it would be named Montlawn. Now, instead of fixing the problem they put up a canned response when they should have called me. Acting like they do well instead of doing well is no substitute.
Jessica Heath: UPDATE: IT WAS FIXED THE NEXT DAY BUT. BUT IT TOOK NUMEROUS PEOPLE TO COMPLAIN.I would not recommend this funeral home or grave site to ANYONE! Let’s try here since my FACEBOOK post was removed! You’ve been contacted for months and asked to fix this head stone that YOU placed! Your telling the family there is nothing you can do. Oh but there is you placed it you can FIX IT. Something needs to be done about this! Very disappointed and it’s a disgrace to the family!
