I first stopped in to guitar center across the street, looked around for about 30 minutes and no one even acknowledged I was there, big mistake! Will only do business with Sam ash! No need to ever go back to the " competition ". Every one at sam ash was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Thanks again for a great experience! Hats off the the store manager and the guitar department manager, we'll done fella's.

She took the time to answer questions and also helped in picking out appropriate parts that would work best for my daughter. Best of all, Nico greatly encouraged my daughter and has her all excited to learn how to play the saxophone. From excellent repair service, huge selection of products and the best staff ever… this will be our music store of choice in Raleigh!!

Richard Klink: First time visiting the store. Incredible and professional service.
Brad Winston: I had a great experience at this Sam Ash store! I was greeted when I walked in and started looking around. Phillip Rogers: The fellas that helped me out was awesome very knowledgeable, and kind . I recommend their service if you need anything musical or instruments
Chip Barfield: Avoid. Worst music store I have ever been in. Rude employees, dirty, unorganized store. Not sure how it is even still open. Definitely wouldn't even by a set of strings from this place 👎
Brian Price: Excellency service , fast checkout
Jorge Rivera: Me gustaría que dieran crédito aunque no se tubiera itin ni ssnn

Music & Arts: what do users think?
Cori Wells: Very helpful and accommodating!
Calv Ash: Love it!! Friendly staff great piano teacher ms. Elizabeth.
Elisa: Great instruments. Great people.
Patricia Kenan: Had what we were looking for. Sales associate was very helpful on the phone. When we got there the associate we talked to over the phone did exactly what he said he would do and we got our product. Great experience!
Cristina Castro: Excelente!
Kelley Dowdle: Super fun and friendly staff. Always very helpful - even if they don't have what I need. Love these guys!
Spyridon Scott: Instruments mainly. Allowed me to drum around in the store. Answered all my questions and even met the Manager.
Kevin Martin: Have been working with this store for lessons and instrument rental and purchase. Very pleased with lessons. Staff are always extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. I am extremely satisfied and recommend this store without hesitation.
Young Song: We ordered a cello, but we received a viola bow along with it. When we asked for a replacement, they said they had none at the moment, and would have one in two weeks. It has been 2 months, and there hasn't been any sign of a cello bow and no explanation. We can't understand why a music store has no bows on hand, or would take so long so get access to one.
Andres Tavera: Bueno
Guy Fieri: Of this store chain, this one had the most veriety of music books. Hell, I bought a Tcherepnin bagatelles while I was there. That said, I get why this is, but they charge you more than what's on the back. My book says 6.95 on the back, but they'll charge you 8 for it. I noticed Sam ash does this too, and it makes sense since those Hal Leonard books were printed like 30 years ago, but still, bad taste
Jeff Buzzard: Got a kid wanting to play music. These guys can help you to not lose your mind. After they starting playing its on you and your sanity.
Gil Fdz: Excellent in many, many ways!!!
Rodney Gibbs: lazy employees
Janet S: A scam. They let you “rent” a cheap instrument and claim it’s worth thousands of dollars. Then add fees, insurance etc. definitely go elsewhere. Really upset Wake County schools use them.
Jennifer Taylor: I called the store at 820pm because one of the strings on my daughter's violin popped. I explained to Doug everything including that my daughter had a concert the next day. They close at 9p. He told me that he would definitely be able to help me if I arrived before 9p. I arrived at 850p. He gladly pick out the correct sized strings and changed them all for me. He never made me feel like I was a bother or that I was wasting his time. He had such great customer service and overall great skills with the instrument. He quickly changed the strings all while engaging in a lovely conversation with me!! This was an awesome experience!!!
Jodi: Damien and his staff are crazy helpful with anything music. Please go pay this awesome store a visit!
rockale h: Slow
Joe Osborn: Excellent service. Love this place so far. Very reasonable rates on rentals, friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is my go-to general music store in Raleigh!
Sunny Myers: We have rented from Music & Arts for the past three years. It's been a mess to say the least. Our accounts are never accurate, the store has no clue has to resolve any account issues, the forget key items like bows and/or give us damaged items when we upgrade, & they are unresponsive. I wouldn't recommend using them for your musical needs!
Ethan Cooper: Great store with great staff

Guitar Center: what do users think?
Zoie: I love guitar center! I've been going here off and on for years! I've been trying to improve my muscical skills lately and get new equipment to take my analog music skills and make them digital! So far, everyone at Guitar Center has been really helpful, and I've gotten a lot of good advice from them! I got advice on how to fix my old audio interface/mic set up, I got a diagnostic on my old guitar, I got a recommendation and quote for my audio interface, I took advantage of their summer get-a-free-guitar-with-a-month-of-lessons offer, and I started lessons!Aimee was really helpful with setting me with guitar lessons, and my teacher Nick is amazingly talented and skilled! I love the staff, the vibe, and the customer service at this location! If you liked my review and are interested in voice acting, video editing, audio editing, music, art, or any other creative endeavors message me "Guitar Center" on discord and I'll connect you with some contacts! Thanks Yall ^-^
Queen D: Very dull like environment but still recommend coming if ur planning to go in to get something and coming out
Ltw Recordings: Made the mistake of going back to GC Raleigh for the July 4 2023 sale and hoping things had changed; they've only gotten worse.Raleigh's Guitar Center is a complete $h!th0le filled with @$$h0le associates who couldn't give a $h!t less. I really hope GC closes this location soon. Cary could have a badass amount of inventory and guitars in, at least they're halfway nice over there most of the time.LATER!!!
Manic mommaT: Great service, but do not try their Fortiva essentials credit card. It's not worth the daily calls after you make arrangements. I'm so tired of it I am selling what i bought from the card.
Jose Lara: Excellent!!
Guitar_Ukulele_Gladys: Walked in to trade in a speaker. Salesperson Marc was very attentive and helpful. He took his time to explain and answered all my questions, to me that's real customer service!
federica cedeno: employees were very nice but i bought a gretsch quitar for my 15th birthday and was very excited but within 2 days of having it the volume knob fell off and i put it back on and it keeps falling since then. Im really disappointed with this because not even my 100 dollar squier did this and my 600 gretsch did. bad care of the guitars you guys have on sale please take a good look before you buy and dont be dumb like i was.disappointed tbh. wont be coming back
Jon Fleet: 2 Day Shipping does not mean you will receive your gear in 2 days. It took them 3 days to “process” my item, i.e. put it in a box and have UPS come pick it up.
Funky Race MonkeyZ: The staff member I spoke to was polite and helpful. Also the atmosphere is pretty great if you're any type of artist be it musician or DJ. I'm definitely returning a second time.
Pedro Hernandez: Buen lugar para sistemas de audio e iluminacion
Ann Thornton: So good about letting you play an instrument!!! Friendly, friendly, friendly!
MrMike Knott: I am 67 years old. I’ve been playing guitar for probably 50 years. I’m not saying I’m great or anything. Just that I’ve been around. Kirby in the repair shop is awesome. He’s fixed things on my vintage guitars that other local shops couldn’t touch. I’d trust him with anything.
ben anders: Well stocked with a good selection of gear compared to most other stores. Gave me a fair price for my guitar as well.
Edgar Hariston: Pricey but if you need item they may have it.
Gabriel Slatton: My step son and I went there Monday and bought a nice drum kit. We were well taken care of by Tyler and Chuck. Love the store.
Brian Blaney: Almost can't live without GC.
Jeffrey Wubbenhorst: good selection, experience was fine
Shirley Burch: Very helpful.
Melvin Bell: Good location for guitars
Aidan Jachmann: My mind was BLOWN, this is not an exaggeration. This is the DISNEY WORLD of music shopping. Amazing Customer Service.Needed some XLR cables asap and I called them up and the person who picked up the phone was super nice and made me feel welcome into the establishment of Guitar Center. Drove an hour to what I thought would be some small nearly run down shop, but it was the exact opposite. On the outside it looks small, but on the inside it is huge. With the help of staff I got exactly what I needed and more! I even stayed a little bit and checked out the pianos and speakers, they have the top of the line EVERYTHING. It was worth the hour drive.
jason williams: As always friendly staff, great selection.

Harry's Guitar Shop: what do users think?
David Forrest: I have done business with Harry and his team since moving to Raleigh to go to NCSU in 1989 (it was the only guitar shop close enough to ride my bike to!). Glad I found them then because they’ve been wonderful to work with ever since. These guys are the only folks I’d trust to work on my guitars! Always great work the first time, fair pricing, and never one issue in 34 years! And yes, quality takes time so they sometimes run a 2-3 week wait on work but well worth the wait (better wait than have some new employee at another shop mess up your beloved guitar!). I’d highly recommend them!
Abe Hensley: the best guitar shop in the area. They may not have everything, but everything they have is quality stuff. Great staff too!
She Smiles: Could not have been happier with my experience. Harry helped me out. I learned a lot from him. Highly recommend!
LabRat Guitar Workshop: Love Harry's Guitar.
Tayler Price: My fiancé and I have shopped at Harry’s twice now and the service is always top notch! They have a wide variety of guitars for any budget as well as mandolins, banjos and other string instruments. The first trip, we found Harry’s to be the closest Martin dealer to us with a decent selection (we live in the Wilmington area). So we made the drive and so glad we did. The service and selection are both great. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Our second trip, we were in search of a reasonably priced guitar for taking to outdoor gigs. After stopping at another chain guitar store we went to Harry’s. My fiancé noticed a used guitar on the wall that was very well priced and in immaculate condition. The staff generously let him play this guitar and many others for comparison as long as he needed in order to make a sure decision. He decided on the used guitar and inquired about installing pickups as this was the only thing missing on his wishlist. The owner graciously offered to have them installed only at the price of the pickups and waived the labor cost since we were purchasing the guitar through them. He paid for the guitar and we left for an hour to have a late lunch. We returned right at close where the guitar was waiting on us.It’s obvious how much care Harry’s takes of their instruments and their customers. Highly recommend Harry’s for any guitar needs!
Kathryn Adams: Very helpful staff, I told them I was missing a piece of hardware for my mandolin kit, and they were able to find a replacement piece right away!
teddy iversen: had my guitars G string break unexpectedly, and they were able to get all the strings replaced very quickly, as well as discussed what strings would be best to fit my and my guitars needs! everyone is very friendly, i highly recommend harry's!
Melissa Churchill: Went in today to have my son's guitar fixed. He only needed a small part and it was fixed in minutes. The young man who helped us was kind and thoughtful. Thank you 😊
Tommy Houmard: I travel from about 90 miles away to get my guitars worked on at Harry's. Terry, the luthier, is very efficient and made my guitar play like never before when installed a new bone nut on my acoustic. He stands behind his work and was able to work with me on certain specs that I wanted during the repair. Also, their staff is incredibly nice. They let me sit there on a Monday morning and play on all the expensive Martin guitars I wanted. I didn't have to go through TSA-like security and background info to play an expensive guitar like other stores. They just let me pull it down and play, and kept saying "you sound great." Even though I probably didn't. Good sales people like I said... Couldn't recommend this place enough.
Deandre Dublin: This is an amazing place and seeing all the guitars here, really inspires me to exand my knowledge on Guitars. Very well proces and engaging team.
Russell Phillips: I went there for the first time today and I really love this store. Plan to order a specific guitar through them soon. The people working there were great and super helpful, the shop selection and quality was wonderful and the shop itself is very clean and nice looking.
Joel Bowen: I purchased a Godin Session HT from Harry’s. What an amazing guitar! I’ve not seen these Canadian made guitars anywhere else in Raleigh. I was at this shop 4 years ago, and also bought a guitar during that trip. The setup on both instruments was fantastic. Apparently they setup the guitars before putting them in their walls. If you are someone who likes to try a guitar before purchasing, make sure you visit this place.
Daniel Sao Joao: Been coming to Harry's for years. There's just a much better vibe here than one of those big music shops. The selection is smaller, but so are the egos.
J. J. Swick: Best guitar shop around. I've been going here for decades. Current staff is very friendly and helpful.
Gordon Gross: Super knowlegeable guys. Great selection of guitars.
Sven Blomberg: Thank you Terry for the great setup on my guitar! My guitar plays so much better now!The team at Harry’s was amazing. They helped me with any questions I had and didn’t make me feel bad for being a novice. I will definitely be back. Thanks again!
David Schwager (Dave): I bought a Banjo at a garage sale today and Harry's had all the items I needed to get started. They were very patient with my questions and helpful and choosing the accessories. Will be back for sure. Prices were very reasonable!
tom smith: We have been buying from Harry for over 12 years now. They are Always straight forward and honest, even to the point of advising a less expensive model if he thinks it will better suit you. The staff are seasoned musicians and know the product. I would advise anyone looking for a guitar to not buy until they have checked in with Harry and crew.
Ramon Levine: Friendly staff. Excellent selection of guitars.
Shirley Burch: They were very attentive and nice to my grandson.
Karen Kern-Pedersen: Bought some new pics here to try out a Martin guitar or two. Boy that d35 with the three piece back sure was nice! They also had a d28 and a d18

Brian Donohoe (Cardinal Locksmith Co.): The best!
Johnson Brekke: Wonderful staff that can help with any questions you may have. Unbeatable selection of quality equipment at a variety of levels and price ranges. You can't go wrong with supporting a local business like this.
Michael Brained: The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the assortment of gear is amazing!
Kim Wride: We had an appointment with a salesman at a big box music store that didn’t show so we left and googled drum stores and 2112 was just a few minutes from us so decided to stop in. Jorg was incredibly knowledgeable and spent over an hour with us teaching us about builds and walking us through different options. He was very straight forward but never pushy. He answered our questions and gave us the info we needed to make an informed decision. My son is thrilled with his new drum set! The pricing was great and we are so happy to support a localbusiness!
James Rider: My son and I walked in and everyone was really nice. They let us play a snare even though we were clueless. They helped us find a stand in a catalog and ordered it for us. We felt welcomed and important even though we were only looking for a small-ticket item. All three people working were amazing. Thanks for a great visit.
J H H Hern: I liked it so nice people I had a good time in there high recommended worth prices great quality
Stephanie Flynn: The customer service here is excellent and my son is thrilled with his drum kit! We will definitely shop here for all of our percussion needs!
Jasmine Best: Always a pleasure working with such a wonderful and knowledgeable staff. The best drum and percussion store in the area!
Barton Neu: I recently purchased a Ludwig tom stand. Despite it being the floor model (the last one they had!) 2112 told me it was in new condition and it was in PERFECT condition. No flaws of any kind and works perfectly. Shipping was beyond fast! I had a tom mounted on a cymbal stand (which I don’t like) for a short practice session and I was grumbling. No matter! 2112 had the stand here the next day! Also, since it was a floor model, 2112 gave me free drum sticks of my choice!2112 Percussion IS customer service! A lost art in this world. Thank you to Chris and the 2112 staff!
airplane pilot 4000 ryan the pilot: Everything Drum. Great service
Brittany Clark: Incredible customer service. I was buying a ride cymbal for my husband and they didn't correct me when I pronounced Paiste wrong lol, they just made a point to say it out loud so I could learn. I respect that. They also called to inform me the t-shirt color I ordered was sold out and were super patient while I chose a new color. They shipped everything in an unmarked box so the surprise wouldn't be ruined! Thank you guys so much
P Strickland: This place is the best. Incredible selection with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. What more could you want. Just wish I lived closer.
Chris Jepsen: Best drum shop,,, Ever!!!
Jessee McClelland: Staff were super helpful in helping me assemble a great quality kit with a mix of used and new equipment.
Mathew Kerlin: A great place for percussionists…. A large store with very helpful employees!! I recommend it highly!
Tate B.: great selection and incredibly helpful staff, was worth the drive!

Guru Guitars: what do users think?
Alan Pelton: Howard at Guru Guitars worked on my 1972 Yamaha FG-200 last year and man he did exactly what that old guit-box needed for a long time. It plays great! It’s high time to leave a five rating for Guru👍🙂
william hairston: Great shop, super helpful staff
Blair Tanner: They performed a complete fret level and setup on my new electric 12-string and it plays and sounds magnificent. They are not only two very nice people, but their work is impeccable.
Ryan Holzbaur: Awesome selection, super nice guys and good pricing. Everything you’d want in a guitar shop.
Christina H: Little shop with a lot of character. The employee who helped me try to decide whether to repair a beloved old guitar was kind and competent. I will return for future guitar needs.
Kristen Musgrave: I came to them with a question about a guitar I was trying to refret and setup myself, and Zack and the folks at Guru guitars were amazingly helpful. I'm a very amateur luthier and never felt "talked down to" or criticized for my less than stellar work. I highly highly recommend these friendly knowledgeable folks for anything you need!
Jonathan Richardson: Friendly staff, incredibly knowledgeable and skilled luthiers, & honest opinions on the value of your instrument. I have bought several instruments at Guru, taken lessons and had my guitars repaired there. I can say, without reservation, that you will be incredibly happy with your experience at Guru.
Robert Conolly: Excellent service and staff. I have had mods installed and truss rods adjusted by Guru, both perfectly executed. Plus, they will clean and polish any guitar brought in for service!
Peter Healy: If you need any type of repair or mod for any guitar, this is the place to go. Over the years, these guys have:- replaced the nut and set up a Martin acoustic- fixed a snapped headstock on a Gibson Les Paul Special (and made it even better than before than break!)- overhauled and dressed messed up frets on a Fender Jazzmaster- set up various other electrics- helped me triage noise issues with a mastery vibrato unit- gave very helpful advice on choosing pickupsOh, and they are always honest, courteous, and easy-going. If they can make it cheaper, they'll always suggest it. It's so nice to work with folks who obviously love what they do--the very opposite of your typical pushy salesman at a guitar chain. So why not support a local business who can make your guitars sound and play better than ever before? This is the place.
Andy Harbaugh: Always a great experience everytime I stop by to get gear or have my guitars worked on. These guys get it!
Frances Margaret Gehrke: I brought my guitar to Guru to get set up, and I'm so happy with the result. Excellent service at an affordable price!
Zeph Park: I have been taking my guitars to Guru to get set up for years, and they always go above and beyond to take care of my instruments. I highly recommend!
Taylor Shuler: I dropped off both an acoustic and an electric for some repairs. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated the COVID precautions with doing everything outside and all the staff wore mask at all times. I am highly impressed in the difference in the guitars. They feel 100 times better to play and the prices were completely fair.
Scott Anderson: Recently had a strat set up, which was in pretty bad shape. They leveled my frets, blocked off my tremelo and adjusted the action. It did take a while to get back but they did an awesome job, it plays amazing and I can't put it down. Highly recommend.
Graham Harger: Great and efficient service. Nothing but good things to say all around. They’ve setup and done work on two of my guitars and both trips were well worth the cost.
Mark Feiner: Howard did a most excellent fret repair job on my finished maple neck Strat. I'd highly recommend Guru Guitars for all your service and repair needs.
Chase Turner: Took my guitar there for a restring and truss rod adjustment. Dealt with Howard. He did a great job; sounds great, quick turnaround time & great price. 5*s
kevin laurencelle: These guys are very friendly and do a great job. They stayed in contact with me and made sure i was satisfied. A lot of places just think to get the guitar in fix it and rush it out the door. These guys show that they truly care about your instruments and have fantastic customer service. Gene was very friendly and treated me as if he had known me for years. These are the guys you want doing your work if you live in the raleigh area
Jordan Squires: Masterful luthier work and great communication. I have been coming to Guru Guitars since 2012 when Gene bought my Black Beauty Epiphone Les Paul custom. He graciously gave me slightly more than the guitar was worth when he found out it was selling this guitar to buy an engagement ring for my now wife. Amazing guys, truly! I have been a repeat customer ever since!
jrsmith8719 Smith: They advertised guitar refinishing but absolutely blew me off when I asked. They recommended someone else, who also ignored me and blew me off. I was just trying to get my guitar repainted in my favorite color. They seem a bit arrogant. I thought playing guitar was supposed to be about self expression, but they only seem interested in making money. Would not recommend.
Martin Armendariz _ Staff - RegionalMaint: Great staff very knowledgeable and friendly.

Sound Off Records & Hi-Fi: what do users think?
KT B: Great store, good selection, good prices. I've been back twice in two weeks
Logan Steinike: I recently visited and had a fantastic experience. The jazz selection was absolutely fantastic and quite frankly, the best I've seen in the area. Additionally, the people who worked there were incredibly helpful and willing to go out of their way to help me find the exact records I was looking for. All in all, I had a great time and would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a great selection and friendly service.
jared resnick: Drove from Chapel Hill to check out Sound Off for the first time. The owner knows her stuff, is not trying to gouge with internet pricing and she obviously cares. Some great jazz, definitely worth the trip and absolutely worth spending money here to keep this shop around. I will be back. Thank you.
Derick Thorpe: I Love this place!!!! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and helpful! It brought happy memories…
Luke Ferris: A diverse and thoughtful stock of vinyl in a gorgeous retro space. The friendly service from Anna and Aaron is icing on the cake.
Coree Coburn: I'm so angry about the experience I had today that I have no words. I'll never go back and there is very little inventory so we didn't miss much!!! Never again and I don't recommend this place or anything on that block!!!
Lucia Urquiza: Pretty cool shop with such a variety. Owners are friendly and welcoming !
Teddy Hobbs: Quality business owners who take care of their customers.
Cory Martin: Great variety of records here and fairly priced. Owners are friendly, highly recommend.
Christine Dixon: They were INCREDIBLY helpful in getting me set up with my first record player and sound system. He was very knowledgeable and very kindly answered all my newbie questions. There was no pressure to buy an expensive set up and I am SO happy with it.
Gary Pullen: I've had many great visits to this shop over the years. It has a charm like no other, partly because they have records and a very nice selection of HiFi Equipment, even cool lights for your music room!I received amazing customer service from the amazing Husband and Wife duo there. Aaron really cares about his customers and goes out of his way to make them happy. He helped me inspect a pair of speakers I had just purchased and even cleaned them up a bit. He also ran premium speaker cable from the speakers (for a small fee). He charged me a reasonable price for this service.I'm so happy stores like this still exist, they're a dying breed, especially record stores where the owners are happy to see you and help!Years ago Aaron's wife (I don't know her name) recommended an obscure record to me that was still sealed, I took a chance and absolutely loved it.You never know what gold you will find in this well organized, friendly shop.Go..go now!
Kenya Smith: Friendly staff and a variety of records for sale!
Marco Lopez: You may miss the record store with it's subtle entrance, but make no mistake that the staff and environment are welcoming.I was visiting the area after driving 3 hours for a weekend getaway, and decided to visit the local record stores. I found a 1$ record of the Best Hits of The Platters in good condition, and when I went up to make the purchase it was on the house. Initially I insisted on paying for it, or at least purchasing something else, but they said don't worry about it. I would say to don't expect this to happen, but when it does it's wholesome and kind. Check this place out if you're in the area.
Robin Mehera: Very large record store. Only old used records. They didn’t have anything new, so a bit disappointing.I probably wouldn’t go back.
Andrew Stephenson: This is definitely my favorite record shop in the city. Great selection across plenty of genres, and super friendly staff. I especially appreciate their selection of old/refurbished Hi-Fi equipment, which sets them apart from the others. And a big plus for having a large "new arrivals" section, which makes aimless bin diving a lot more fun.
Hannah Orban: Amazing record shop!!! Super helpful employees willing to assist in finding what you need. Great selection and good prices!
Martin Morgan: Highly recommend! From the second i called the store, Anna was really patient with my many questions about setting up a turntable for my daughter. Very helpful on the phone and even more so when we went to the store. Showed us what they had, how to set everything up, let us test the equipment and gave very helpful tips. Great selection of records too. We left with a turntable, a set of speakers, two albums and lifted spirits. Encourage anybody who sees this review to give them a call or visit the store.
Alex Zink: Love this little Record shop. The workers are super friendly and helpful and the selection of music is great. It's well organized, and there are a lot of options if you want to pay a dollar or less.
Bryant Hatcher: Not too motivated to talk about repairs or connect to other repair places.Just nah we aint taking any repairs. We're a month behind.Maybe no help IDK.
Balaji Kenneth: Amazing record store with a very good collection. This was my first visit to this store and it was so inviting - will make many trips surely. Picked about 5-7 25cent records and most of them were in very good condition. As a beginner to the vinyl world, this place was a welcome find.
Jason Williams: Great owners and really good vinyl selection.
