Two years ago the local doctors, including a neurologist, said that there is no reason that they could find, and I would just have to live with it. I also had a lot of other issues with stress, exhaustion, and depression.Dr. Goode-Kanawati listened and listened - took a bunch of tests - and found patterns. She suspected mold poisoning - and, sure enough, not only did the tests show mold toxins, but we found mold that was hidden and had no smell. Sam & Lauren Young: TRUE STORY.This will be a long and personal post, which I don't usually do but this is so important and I think everyone needs to be aware!So for the past couple of months, I have been having two menstrual cycles a month and have been very abnormally tired. I went to see a primary care physician and a obgyn.1) The pcp did blood work (ONLY because I insisted she do it because I wanted to make sure everything was okay and I was fasting), and said everything was okay. She barely checked anything! First, the blood level that shows I was dehydrated was low and she did not tell me (so I needed to drink more water and she said everything was fine - you can get hospitalized for dehydration!!), and she checked ONE thyroid level and no hormones. Guys, there are SEVEN plus thyroid hormones to check!!! You would think she would check everything because I'm bleeding twice a month??2) The obgyn did a pelvic exam and told me just to go on birth control to regulate my periods without trying to figure out what exactly was the root cause. BTW birth control side effects are INSANE.SO....I decided to take matters into my own hands and go to a place I really trust - Beverly Medical Center. The NP there, Sandy, did so much blood work to find out what was really going on. Turns out I have Thyroiditis, which is probably the root cause of my two periods a month. She checked my ENTIRE thyroid panel, my hormones, countless other blood panels, and is wanting a thyroid ultrasound to see what's going on. I would be on birth control, masking the problem if it wasn't for BMC!TRADITIONAL DOCTORS DO NOT DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. PERIOD. I am so thankful for Beverly Medical Center for taking the time to figure out the root cause of my health issues and FIX it. Just because your traditional doctor says nothing is wrong, does not mean there isn't!!! Get a second opinion from a different doctor preferably an integrative physician, who wants to actually find out what is wrong. I HIGHLY recommend Beverly Medical Center!!

Marian Morris: I have been going to see Dr. Goode since 2008 or 2009. I live a little over 2 hours away. She spends time with you and is concerned about your total well-being. She's nothing like these modern doctors where you are in and they only see you for 15 -20 mins and give you a pill. She thoroughly does her homework and tries to find the most effective health plan. I have not had to see a family practitioner since I started going to her. I did have a torn rotator cuff and the doctor told me after surgery I had the most healthy tissue he had seen in a long time. My gynecologist told me I looked like I was 30 years old...well you get the picture. I attribute this to God and Dr. Goode. Great physician!!!

Without her alternative path, I would be on immuno-suppressant medicines and suffering those side effects. With her guidance and expertise, I am living a "normal" life free of pain and discomfort. She is like a medical detective, using all sorts of diagnostic tests to get to the root of the problem. The only drawback is her office does not file insurance so be prepared for out of pocket costs.

She has solved, or greatly improved, my problems with heavy/irregular periods, disrupted sleep, low energy and mild depression by recommending diet/lifestyle changes and supplements. Dr. Goode looks at the "why" of troublesome symptoms and seeks to find and correct the root cause. This is the way medicine should be practiced. In response to one reviewer's complaint about being kept waiting a long time, Dr. Goode spends a good hour plus with each patient and I have never felt rushed in my conversations with her. This does mean that on occasion I have needed to wait past my appointment time to see her as I assume she needed to spend more time with another patient. I feel that the benefit of her superior care far out weighs this inconvenience. And while she does recommend a fair number of supplements, and does offer many of them for sale there at her office, I have never felt pressured to buy the supplements from her company and she gives other local and online sources.

I have had compounded issues with hypothyroid, insulin resistance and depression and Dr. Good has been able to recommend appropriate blood tests to delve into the root causes instead of treating symptoms, and found additional imbalances which I was then able to treat.I am most impressed with the way she analyzes, for example, not just my thyroid numbers, other test results that correspond or are related to my thyroid, to get a full picture. If you can afford, it I would definitely recommend this practice.

Karen York: My experience at Beverly Medical with Dr. Good was extremely poor. She kept me waiting 45 minutes after the start of my appointment time and my appointment was at 9:45 in the morning. She had made her decision about what was wrong with me prior to even speaking with me and were based solely on the very expensive ($600+) test that insurance does not cover. She did not care that I had already tried everything on the plan she outlined for me because "I had not done it while under her care and therefore did not count." I also looked up some of the the things that her tests said I was allergic to and it quickly became obvious that she had not even done a simple Google search to make sure she knew what she was talking about when she made up her plan for my treatment. Although, that treatment plan would have included having the $600 allergy test that insurance does not cover repeated periodically. Based on this I question her competency as a doctor. She also wants to sell patients lots of lots of supplements that are conveniently sold in her office.
