If your running a special then that should all be included that is why its called a special. Then its single stage paint at that. I turned them down and will never go to Maaco, If im going to pay that much it wont be for single stage it will be base coat clear coat.

Kerry Sarna: Used the online estimator tool and was given a quote and the ability to schedule an in person meeting. Scheduled an appointment, drove to the location and was told that their system was down and the estimator was not on site, but was on the way. When the estimator arrived 45 minutes later I was told that it was first come first serve and I would have to wait for the other 2 walk in customers to be dealt with first. I patiently waited about 30 minutes longer until my vehicle could be seen. Before it was barely glanced at I was told that there was rust in plastic areas of my vehicle that are impossible to rust and that the vehicle would require significant amounts of body work. I explained that I was not worried about the one small ding in the hood or the cracked plastic. I explained that I just wanted the peeling clear coat to be sanded off and that the lowest level of paint to be applied in order to bring life back to my work truck. The unprofessional employee explained that it would be over $1000 more than the estimated cost and that they would not warrant any of it due to having to sand off the clear coat. The entire time I was spoken to with false claims and as if I was naive enough to believe any of them. If I could rate the operational capability and customer service a zero I would. I have had 2 previous vehicles painted by Maaco… not sure what happened over the years.

Barret Kurtz: You get what you pay for, my paint has a lot of debris trapped inside from them letting it sit outside too soon. I also noticed several runs and imperfections along the hood and doors. Overall not that bad, but for the price you pay I would expect a little better.

Went back they said give it some time it will “cure”I took it to a different maaco since I moved to a different state. The guy told me this is the worst paint job I’ve ever seen. Maaco Raleigh needs to call me to pay the new shop since there is a warranty on a paint.Raleigh shop is refusing to call. He said I will not pay the other Maaco. We are franchise. You have to pay a prorated warranty. I Pay for something they didn’t even do right the first time. He said you need to bring the car back if you’re not happy with service… This shop is terrible and the employees are rude.I hope corporate does something about this.Service:Painting

Robin Moore: I would not recommend and would not come here again! I took my car here to fully repaint it due to peeling. There were 2 different spots of dry paint drip (pics attached). I had to leave my car for another few days and borrow a car from a family member again, for them to fix what should've been done right the first time. After getting my car back the second time, there were black marks on the inside roof, above the drivers side seat (pic attached). I'm guessing from a hat or the hood that they wear, from whoever drove my car being too tall, as the seat was pushed way back. I'm hoping it comes off. This just shows carelessness and a lack of consideration for property that was left in their care. So, both times they had my car, they did not return it in an appropriate condition. I'm severely disappointed and angry at the poor service provided. The amount of money it costs for these kind of repairs should warrant better quality. Maireny Carbonel: I brought my car here after I hit a deer and Duke collision took complete care of me. They handle everything for me with my insurance. When I picked up my car at the end of the repairs my car looked amazing. They even washes it for me. I highly recommend this shop

Tyler Gramley: Decided its time to tell the truth on this place. I came to them to get non damaged based repairs to my car to do things like replace aging door handles, repair bumper clips and weatherstripping. Had a very good experience till two things occurred. 1. I noticed damage to my doors which have door protectors that was not there previously. Of which they were very petty and proceeded to go around my car with tape that they did not removed till i asked, and left plenty on, trying to point out all the previous damage. This was real shallow and a act of defiance against my concern. Just spray the door with cheap paint like u did and move on. Of which was not clear coated so had to be repaired again. 2. Was all the poor work. Fog lights left undone which required mechanical intervention from another person, missing and likely broken tabs where they think the customer wont notice like rear bumber tabs. Some poor repairs of mechanical features like the door handles. All in all they checked the boxes for a price I agreed upon but left woe stricken over the repair industry as a whole now.

Mark: WORST BODY SHOP YOU CAN GO IN THE TRIANGLE. DON’T BE FOOLED by the good reviews like I did because these are probably stories their friends post. From the moment the tow truck left my at the shop I knew I made a mistake choosing them cause they were rude and talked to me with an attitude on the phone. They took almost 7 months to fix my car and the end result was a car with a defective paint job, unrepaired damages and low quality parts. The car had to be taken elsewhere. Thanks Duke Collision for the nightmare I had to go through. GO TO A SHOP WITH EXPERIENCE and thank me later.
El líder: Even if you were my enemy I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU to go to Duke Collision for your body shop needs. They painted the edges of plastic trim in my car because they were lazy enough to not remove the trim parts. My doors were not assembled properly so latch wouldn’t work correctly. They admitted their mistakes but wanted me to pay for their labor to fix it when I complained management treated me like trash and told me they changed their mind and now I would have to pay for both labor and parts. They asked me to leave their shop without fixing the damages.

Customers be aware these people are not professionals either as technicians or providing customer service. We were treated horribly and a rude hispanic lady tried to intimidate us, yelling at us, screaming, running and jumping all over the place. They caused multiple hidden or hard to see but still proven damages to my vehicle. Don’t get fooled by their polite responses on google. Go somewhere else or pay the price of coming to this terrible place.

They let me bring my truck in to see the damage. The other places I contacted wanted me to initially only send text photos of damage. Where Duke let me bring in for them to see initially. The work they did looks great and I felt the price was fair.Definitely recommend Duke Collision.

S Lee: My daughter hit a deer someone left in the road after they hit it while on her way to work on a dark morning, a couple of months back. We got her Challenger back yesterday from Duke. It looks perfect. It sounds perfect. It's super clean and is all back together. The greatest part about this place is they CALLED us every single step of the way. We were never once in the dark on the nearly $7500 worth of damage to her car. You don't get service like this very many places these days.Thank you so very much. S P: Rav4 Tail gate would not close. Duke replaced the hinges but still the gate touching the frame and doesn't close. Went back to have this fixed. But of no use. I would appreciated if they had taken good look and put some efforts to fix. Don't go this shop if it need any skills, adjustment. Just removing dents, or touch up ok

Zero to no communication, changing stories, poor customer service and workmanship, after having my vehicle for FIVE, yes FIVE months, my car was ultimately released to me with more damage than it went to Duke collision with. I went through my insurance who also had to get involved to investigate conduct of this shop, and still I was left with out of pocket costs due to this ordeal. My original estimate of work they submitted themselves to insurance, some how more than QUADRUPLED and every week they “found” another issue after telling me all was fixed. I can absolutely back up all claims made on this review with proof as well. I should have paid more attention to reviews pertaining to Duke collision. Audrey White: I had the BEST experience with Sam. I came in to get an estimate for fixing my car that had a plethora of things wrong with it. The headlight was out, my door handle had been ripped off, the back fender had been bashed in pretty badly. When I came in for an estimate, Sam fixed my headlight on the spot for free and sent me the estimate within the hour! I brought my car in as soon as he was available and he had it fixed up in a few days! Then i noticed my other headlight had gone out, just my luck. Sam came out on a Saturday and fixed that light and another one that had gone out that i hadn’t noticed. He did all of that didn’t let me pay him for it! Sam is a really great guy. Being a women I’m always worried about getting price gauged by car places, but Sam didn’t do that, his pricing was super reasonable and he did a fantastic job.

I called to follow up with him letting him know I was there. He told me he would be at the shop within an hour, not sweating it I waited for him around the area. An hour goes by I called him, no answer.. even sent a text. I waited around the area, and felt stood up. I received no follow up. Wasted time, unfortunately...
Tamar Chukrun: Sam is wonderful. I had paint chipping from a previous repair paint job done by a caliber collision in Raleigh. When someone scratched it with their car, I took it to Sam to get fixed. Not only did he repaint my bumper, he also fixed a part of it that had been sagging before the accident, for free! The price of the repaint was extremely good and the quality of the work was 100000 times better than caliber collision or a big chain. I’m writing this review over a year after the paint job, and I can gladly attest that it withstood the test of time and still looks great today!

Timothy Justice: My engine malfunctioned and the vehicle model was part of the class action lawsuit to have the engine replaced at no cost. I called the service center and asked to have it looked and she stated it would take three weeks just to diagnose the issue, then I would have to submit all of maintenance records and wait another two weeks to see if the engine replacement would be approved. Then it would be a couple of weeks until they could work on my car. It was terrible service all the way around. Johnson Hyundai of Wake Forest saw my car the next day, diagnosed the issue, and ordered the replacement engine within two days. In December I went in for ANOTHER recall and they told me I need a new catalytic converter, which is over $1000. I took it to another mechanic and was told that was not the case. Also, when I bought the car, the dealership did the paperwork incorrectly and did not register my car appropriately and had me using my car illegally.
Kai P: Came in to get a side mirror cover painted for my Elantra. People there were super helpful and attentive to my issue. The part got delayed on two separate days but they took care of it and due to the delay cut me a great deal on my part. When things go wrong this place steps up to fix the error. Good people, and the part was painted very well.
purnima gupta: No documentation to show my car was in the bodyshop. They don't have phone and don't have labor. Job was delayed and no update. I had to drive 10 miles each way 5 times to update me. Wednesday finally I was told to pick up my car on Thursday. I arrived there. Car was not done. Today I am called at 4:25 to pick up my car by 4:45. I am at a grocery store next to my home with ice cream in my hand. They agree for 5:15. Next minute Hundai car loan guys call me. They want me to give them my credit card number NOW. I don't have time to pull over. I am put under tremendous stress. It is rush hour traffic. On way 3 more times I receive a call from body shop. Twice I ignore. The 3rd time I am here already. I hang up. I am going crazy and am charged for hanging up and ask me if i don't answer phone when i am driving. I don't drive when i am so stressed out and they are talking about my answering phone on top of it? I am willing to pay my deductible. They were supposed to have received check from my insurance company for the balance a month before they gave me an appointment. They can't trace it. I am sitting in the waiting room. I suffer from anxiety. I have to come back Monday. Alas, they find the payment. CAR LOOKS GOOD. I leave at 5:45 in my car.
Bill Pratt: Run away. Run away. On 01/06/2023, confirmed they could handle the repair and forwarded them a copy of the insurance quotation. Said they were backed up but could take the car on 02/20/2023. Left the car on 02/20/2023. They said backed up a few days but leave the car so the technician could confirm needed repairs and would start on 02/23/2023. After many days of unanswered / unreturned phone calls, visited the shop personally 03/02/2023. Nothing had been done on the car. Was promised they would begin the next day and work over the weekend. Would have the car ready on Wednesday, 03/08/2023. Went to the shop on 03/08/2023 and still nothing had been done to the car, NOTHING! Two months of wasted time. Left with my car and now having to search elsewhere.
Alok Thakar: Jimmy at Southern States collision center was very knowledgeable about analyzing the damage to my Subaru, and suggested a much better and more cost effective fix than other body shops. Will definitely recommend these guys.
Ryan H.: My brand new Genesis GV70 has been at this shop since February. You can't call and get updates because no one answers the phone. My car was left out in the elements for a week with no hood with the fuses exposed to water. The GM doesn't care which was made even more obvious when the entire team left. The one time I've seen my car since it's been there the hood and fenders have orange peel so bad and my drivers door is still messed up. If insurance wasnt paying for my rental and the work to get done...LAWSUIT! 1 month since I was called to say my car was ready. Still don't have my vehicle!
Booble B: It appears that the work force exited en masse due to poor management at levels above the garage. This place is a real cluster.
Kane Martin: The first time I scheduled an appointment with them, they apparently never finished arranging it. When I came in to drop off my car, they had no record of the estimate or appointment. Tyrone took full responsibility and put me on the schedule.It was smooth sailing after that. 6 business days for repairs estimated to take 4 days (reasonable given their apparent volume), final bill was $100 difference from the estimate. As far as work quality, you'd never know there was anything to repair.There are some scuffs on my passenger door I'm almost certain were not there previously, but I can't prove it.
Kay Farley: Got a call at 930 said car was ready pulled up there at 1045 to pick it up. Car was no where to be found. They said it was at the detail shop. Then why call say it was ready when in fact it wasn't. Wait til after 1:30 called several times no answer. So drove up there to find out that it's still at the detail shop. They had to go get it. The car looks just when I dropped it off wasn't detailed at all.... never again will I use them!!!! Only reason they were used in the first place was because the service department dented my car and didn't tell me about it. I had to find out on my own. So Southern States has lost my business completely and my friends
Tim Crockett: Front bumper damage required new bumper cover. They painted the new bumper red for a burgundy car. Then tried to convince me that it would eventually fade to match. The camera couldn't capture it, but near the hood, the primer can be seen through the paint.They tried to get me to accept this mess and call the job done!!!After complaining I finally got them to agree to paint it again with the right color.

They had my car for over 2 months, would not return my calls and when I finally went to pick my car up the work was shoddy and had to be redone. Fast forward a year and I received an airbag recall notice. I had to use a Subaru dealership and Southern States is the only one close by. I called to make the appointment and someone picked up the phone-no answer-just chewing until I said something. He then basically said what do you want. I decided to drive the extra hour to another dealership-I cannot deal with them ever again.

The painting was complex and took time, but the car was ready on time. They washed it and vacuumed the interior, which was a nice touch. They are also customer friendly!

Ray Patterson Sr: Horrible. I will never take my Polaris Slingshot back to them. They broke my driver’s side view mirror. Then wanted me to pay $100.00 to replace it. Lied about the replacement cost. The white paint started fading out on the hood O paid $2,000 for a custom paint job. I made arrangements to take it back. I dropped it off on June 30th 2023 and decided to go and pick it back up on July 3rd and it was sitting in the same spot I left it in when they said it would be locked up at night. Instead they left it out in the public’s view where it could have gotten rain into after tell me they would secure it at night.Again went to pick it up on July 3rd around 3 pm and it wouldn’t crank. One of the owners, Basil and O bumped heads about the mirror being damaged and he claimed it was already damaged when I brought it to them which was a total lie. So he has a vendetta against me and I’m thinking he tampered with the battery cable so it wouldn’t be able to get it cranked when I came to pick it up. One of their battery chargers worked. as I noticed the two black male employees, one whose first day was on the day of July 3rd when I went to pick it up and an older black man seem to be eager in helping me getting it cranked didn’t even come out the second time I had to return after coming back to my house. After getting back with the jumper cables; I noticed the positive battery cable was hanging behind the battery as it had been tampered with between I had left to go and get my vehicle and a heavy duty set of jumper cables. I had started dealing with the other co-owner, Jennifer Kracke because I thought she was a more trustworthy person to deal with and all she does is cover for the other owner whom O believe is damaging my Slingshot. They were waiting on the paint to repaint the white areas on the hood; but at this point I don’t trust anybody that’s employed there. But this is not over if that’s what they’re thinking. But I’m not taking it back up there to deliberately damage my vehicle which again is being done by the owner I bumped heads with initially. This is his way of retaliating against me for threatening to take the business to court. Which I am going to do now for damage to property. They talk about how they have cameras all of the lot which is useless when they have control of the footage and can delete their own criminal activity.Service:Painting

One of their employees stole my car sub/amp. They used my car interior to store dirty parts. They used my trunk to store food, boxed wine, and cigarette butts, which led to my car getting a cockroach infestation. The paint was over sprayed on my wheels and headlights. Kimberly Yingling: I have been on the list to get my car towed into this shop for 10.5 weeks. Called in November 2022 and chatted with Vanessa about a fender bender. I need to arrange a tow bc the wheel scrapes when driven. She was very nice and explained they are behind. I was told it would be about two weeks before they could take a tow-in. Every few weeks I call them to check-in and I get the same exact message--it will be about two more week, they are working through the list. I just don't believe them at this point. This company has been zero help getting my car back on the road.

B. Strong: Well from the referral I got and looking at the reviews I thought this was the best place to get my car repaired I was wrong. First they told me that the parts for my car was on back order and I understood that. Then they also told me they didn’t want my car just sitting down there taking up space while they waited for the parts to come in,I also understood that. What I don’t understand is why give a customer a date only a week before time to bring the car in you tell me you have good news and bad news. The good being the parts for the car were now available the bad I have two cars ahead of mine, my thoughts why give me a date knowing this already. I was still understanding. Then when I try to call to find out when I can finally bring my car I would get no answer like my call was being screened because when I would call right back from my 2nd line they’d pick up. My thing is if they felt they couldn’t help me why waste my time and I could’ve gone else where. I’m not saying they don’t do good work because I didn’t get anything done but they need to work on communicating better with customers!

Devastated, I took my vehicle to Xtreme Collision (highly recommended by The Car Place, who has worked on my vehicles for years). Vanessa is extremely kind and courteous, Terry and staff were always professional and my vehicle looks brand new. They worked directly with my insurance company and I could not be happier. My vehicle was fully detailed when I picked it up. One key element I appreciated over other body shops was their attention to detail. My vehicle is diamond white (Lexus Starfire Pearl) which is a nearly impossible paint color to blend, so we elected to repaint the entire rear of my vehicle. The process also only took about two weeks. 10/10.

Richard Varga: I had just moved to North Carolina and had an accident in August 2021 with my 2005 Honda CR-V. When I called Capital, Travis answered. He was really helpful. Within hours he picked my car up and had it at his shop. Because it was an older vehicle and I did not have insurance coverage, I was concerned that it would be totaled. Travis let me know just what was needed. It took a while to find parts but I was patient and his team got to work. He ran into a few challenges getting parts and making everything work right. Even when he had an issue Travis went out of his way to find a solution. He kept me in the loop as to what costs would be. When I finally picked up the car l was truly satisfied with the results. My car looked like new. His teams attention to detail was excellent. I would strongly recommend Capital and will return for any future needs. After calling around and hearing from several places “can’t see you unless you’re using insurance, it will take about two weeks to get an estimate on your car and another few weeks until your car will be fixed” not to mention being extremely expensive, Capital Auto Painting was the last phone call I made and I wish it had been my first. Chris immediately looked at my car, was fair, honest, reliable, efficient, respectful, and worked around my work schedule and Covid. He made sure my car was ready so I could get to work and put so much care and effort into it. I couldn’t be happier with my car!! He actually made my car look even better than when I first bought it. Eric Fenstermaker: I needed my 17-year-old black Ford pickup completely painted and got quotes throughout town, most of them were quoted over the truck's value. I saw Capital Auto Painting grand opening sign. They were very friendly, gave me a tour, and quoted me an awesome price, Their paint booth is state of the art. The truck looks like new and the small problems I saw were corrected immediately and without argument. I couldn't ask for more. I am really glad I gave them a try. Update ...2 years later my paint still looks good and truck is not garaged.
Essentials from Nature LLC: I took my GS340 to Chris after a bad paint job at another shop he worked in. He assured me the quailty of paint being used in his shop would be better. Initially I was satisfied however under a year and the paint is peeling. I won't take it back and don't recommend unless you want to paint your car every year. Car has only been washed a couple times at the Lexus dealership and once by myself when the the painted started coming as I washed it. Very disappointing.

I was both shocked and amazed. My driver's door is so smashed in and it would not close. It was raining outside and the owner was so nice and allowed my vehicle into one of his garage bays. We are waiting on the Geico adjuster.....

KB: This place primarily does collisions with payment via insurance. They aren't very keen to take any other kinds of work.
Elizabeth Freeze: Moon's a really wonderful shop. After a car accident they fixed my car right up and did it for a very reasonable cost. I would definitely recommend them and plan to do more business in the future.
Peter Yun: It's a two brothers operation shop. We have no problems with trusting them. Should be much better than any other shops around Raleigh. Didn't have any issues after any body or repair works so far.

My mother and sister continue to use Moon Auto to this day. If you are looking for an honest, dependable mechanic you should go to Moon Auto. Also, they do give free estimates.
The Cough: From the free estimate until the work was complete...this was a great place to do business. They did great paint and body work on my F-150.
Arun kumar: Team were professional and gave me a good quote for car body repair. But I did not get my car fixed here though but heard they do good job.
Mike Lil: They did not know what the were doing. They worked on my car and it cost me 1167$ and the issue still not fixed. I just gave up and will go elsewhere. I refuse to give them another penny for sorry work. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to this place
