John Chavis Memorial Park: what do users think?
LaToshia Jordan: We drove 40 plus minutes to this park , well worth the fun had. Love the playground openess and the seating around it. Splash pad was fun !
Charon Jones: Venue space was very nice for my friends birthday
thomas stafford: I like the gym they have. It's very affordablePlayground: Is great for childrenRestrooms: Is clean
Connie DiPietrantonio: Nice park, some equipment in the 2-5 children area needs some instruments repaired, but likely it's hard to prevent off hours vandalism. The biggest disappointment was the carousel ride only being open on Su, Tu, W. May grandkids always come TH, F, Sa and leave early Su, so we can never go. 😞
Dorothy Adams: I enjoyed every minute of it
M. Lawlor: Great park with a splash pad for the kids. able to bike to the park using the Greenway network.
Nicole Briscoe: My kids loved it especially the park …but some kids summer camps we’re a bit pushy and meanPlayground: Was okay just had a lot of summer camp kids who were pushy and mean
M Kiser: This place has it all. A carousel, though I've yet to see it open. A splash pad with shaded seats for onlookers. A toddlers play ground and a bigger kids area along with a few outdoor exercise stations for adults. It's fantastic.
Angela Brock: Lot of improvements have been made to Chavis park since I was there last. The track, playground area, a splash pad has been added, and the actual Center itself is amazingly big on the inside. The community really should be proud of how the park has been transformed. The Merry go Round is still there and operating!! 2$ is the price of the rides. My twins were 3 when they use to ride and the price wasn't that much then. They are 34 now with teenagers theirself. 20 thumbs up John Chavis Memorial Park for looking out for our Children!!!!Playground: Yes, beautifulRestrooms: PlentyDog-friendliness: Not really, there is not a designated area for dog, although plenty of walking for them off the track.Picnic area: I didn't see any, but I'm sure that somewhere in that large park area
Kelly Collins: Splash pad and community center are fantastic!
Pearly D Love: Perfect spot for the kids
IAMKJB: We used the Carousel House for a retirement celebration. This is a beautiful location and I'd highly recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 ⭐️ is because staff "checked in on us more than usual, and it was awkward.
Yolanda Perez: This place is so amazing becuase it has a gym, track, basketball courts, and a huge playground for kids that is actually fun. Oh and a splash pad.
Aspyn Andrea Maher: Too much garbage out on splash pad!! Clean up there are kids out there people.
Shop Anangorium: My kids love this playground. A nice family spot. Nice place for parents to sit and watch their kids enjoy being kids.
Ciera Shannon: Beautiful Park ! Our kids really enjoyed the splash pad. The playground is very modern and up to date. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be returning.
George Bellomo: Not enough shade. Great looking play structure though.
Pamela Lynn: It have improved a lot over the years. I love what they did to it❤️
Colleen Kehoe: Fantastic park!!!! Big splash pad- wish there was more shaded seating for parentsPlayground: Wonderful!!! Best for older kids maybe 7 and up?
Joshua Parker: Playground: Separate playgrounds for small kids and big kids. Climbing, swings, slides, splash zone. Really cool.
Sawyer Campbell: Very clean and respectable park. No riff raff, perfect for a day out in the sun with kiddos.

River Bend Park: what do users think?
Krystal Sawyer: Though this is a smaller playground the equipment is unique. The roller slide and the rock climbing feature are favorites for my kiddos.
Jeff Ford: Great location for a cycling pitstop along the Neuse River Trail. Drinking fountain, restrooms, and benches.
Jonathan Fowler: Great playground with clean restrooms and access to the Neuse River and Trail. Didn't know this great park was here!
Nathan Webb: Nice park with a small playground and access to bike trails. The playground is good for smaller kids 6 years old and younger. Older kids may play through quickly or find the equipment a little boring for them. Bathrooms are further away from playground towards the trail and boat ramp to Nuese River.Restrooms: Outdoor changing area
Phillip Thalheimer: The River Bend bike and kayak launch has no room to unload kayaks. A very large no parking fire lane but no where to drop off. The Parking lot is about 100 yards away fine if you have a bike but a long walk if it is just yourself and a kayak. Then another hundred yards to the water. Nice bathrooms and has a changing room lots of benches to sit on and is very scenic but would have liked to see some place to drop the kayak. There is some handicap parking there but only if your handicap and the spaces seem too small to hold a van. There could’ve been a better design for this. It’s nice to see lots of trash cans let’s hope people use them! And parks and rec has a notification board in case of hazardous obstacles in the Neuse River.
T Whit (Whitfit): Great Park for kids and family. Wonderful safe playground. Not crowded when we were there.
B You: Don't open the bathrooms before 6, even though they are unlocked. Annoying alarm that goes off for 10-15min!! Other than that nice peaceful park.
Richard Springer: Park looks nice.Thank You for theBathroom...One of the Only onesNear the Bike Trail.
Penny Lynn Howard: My grandchildren enjoy the park so much. Always clean n safe feeling.
lanz194: 这个站点很好,自行车加气以及基本维修都可以还提供干净的洗手间👍
Morgan Weiss: My 15 month old had a great time playing here! The playground structure and other items are designed for 2-5 year olds so it’s perfect for toddlers. We’ve only been once on Labor Day weekend and it wasn’t very busy.
Mark Vincent: Oooh, nice spot to bring you small bipeds. Plenty of play space and have a picnic.
Mary Birkelund: This is totally for very young children. There is no shaded area for equipment. All of it were super hot.Playground: Yes Public restrooms: No Off-leash dog area: No Picnic tables: No Barbecue grills: No …More
Jeremy Davis: Nice park with easy access to Nuese River Trail
Sherry Burden: I like visiting different parks. I found this one after heading back home from breakfast. I wanted to sit outside and listen to a webinar. I sat on a flat rock and propped my iPad up to attend the event. It was a nice Sunny and slightly breezy day. While families bounded with their children on the playground not far from me, I enjoyed all the positive energy surrounding me in nature. The 🚻 were clean and were in a safe location. On my way out I noticed a walking trail, a group of seniors biking and more park to check out next time when I return.
Lauryn Sanders: Super nice park, be careful on the turtle swing tho...
George Keeler: Nice park for 3 to 5 year olds. Also access to the Greenway trail and kayak launch on the Neuse river.
butterfly Butterfly diamond: Beautiful play ground
N Reston: Great park! Could be more hiking trails, but otherwise lovely area.
Romeo Brown: Awesome park!! Quiet and family friendly!!
Dan Thompson: Brand new park and playground! Geared towards smaller kids but is a fun park. Our 3-year-old had a BLAST and didn’t wanna leave, even though it was only 34° outside today! 🤣❄️👍 I like how all of the play things are spread out and not all tightly clustered together. Really nicely done and creatively layed out playground.

Caraleigh Park: what do users think?
Patricio Licona: 👍👍👍
Kyle Keaton: Well maintained park. With playground and basketball courts.
Randi Depo: The basketball courts are nice, but the playground is a little dated. Everything is made of metal and reinforced steel. Easy place to find a concussion.
Hayes Permar: small, but decent hoops courts
Gabriela Contreras: A nice park

Strickland Road Neighborhood Park: what do users think?
Z N: Small neighborhood playground, with slides and swings. It has a toddler area for smaller aged children. It also has a sand box for kids to play in. Each time we've went, it wasn't crowded. Nicely kept and clean. Good for a visit if you are in the area.
#TeamCooke Qbc: Nice
Jeff Philips: I have seen better.
Sandi Prunty: Great park. 2-4 and 5-8 age appropriate play areas. The sandbox is large and "clean." They have swings for babies and big kids too. It has everything you'd expect. We've only explored a small part of the path around the lake.
Taras Legar: Good park ,there are a lake and paths for walking playground
Sara Miller: Amazing park for toddlers and young kids to play safely!
Erica Reynolds: Perfect place for youngsters to play and adults can chill in the shade 😎 👍🏻👌🏻
Diana Gutiérrez: Shade for hot days. Porta potty available.
Lindsay Perry: Shaded playground plus beautiful pond in the forest, lovely place!
Cindy Puetzer: What a sweet little park with a playground for young children and walking paths through the woods that lead to two different ponds
Edward Urdaneta: No restrooms. However the large port-a-potty is usually extremely clean, and well stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The Nature trail seems a bit short, and it leads through practically backyards of several houses nearby, which can seem a bit trespassy. Noticed couple drones flying through the tree line, not sure if private owned/nosy-neighbors or city owned/surveillance/security. Cool playground area for the little ones, with rubberized soil instead of plain dirt, and a few picnic tables about on the edge of woods. Ponds on either side, calming sound of water, and also neat to listen to frogs at near dusk. Otherwise quiet and neatly tucked away, never knew it was there until I noticed a car turning in one afternoon. Cool spot all around
Eileen Walsh: Love walking my dog on the little trails. All the little trails combined probably are only about 1 mile or less. 2 nice ponds. Quiet and never crowded.
Cody Lagana: Great little park for the kids
Clifton Harper: Nice children's park in need of some clean up/refresh.
Kassandra Bosley: No bathrooms!!!
kook cho: good for children playground
Scott Callicutt: The toddler playground is awesome.
Maureen Higgins: We love this park - it's got some great elements that would make me choose it over alternatives. There are swings, a sand pit, slides, areas for different aged kids, a forest with ponds to explore, porta pottys, trash cans and plenty of seating for the adults. Beautiful playground :)
Ronnie Jardine: Nice park for kids
joshua williams: Good area... clean which is important when considering a park
Jason Adams: Great playground & nature trail!

Tracey Peterson: Nice park from what I could see. We went to experience the Juneteenth event.

C A: Great outdoor walking and relaxing area.
LINDA L. CASH: I HEARD SUCH HORRIBLE SAD STORIES ABOUT HOW THE PATIENTS WERE TREATED WHEN IT WAS AN ACTIVE HOSPITAL. THEY ARE OFFICE BUILDINGS NOW. I WAS VISITING WITH MY DAUHTER THAT'S EMPLOYEE THERE.
Christin Wilson: It's so simple! Just a big field of fun there is also a disc golf ⛳ course!
ospinajr82: Nice temporary 9 hole disc golf course till the end of September.
Sonny Cruz: Played the pop-up disc golf course and it was fun! Fairly straightforward course with some elevation and a few large trees that like to make sudden movements toward flying discs.
Efrain Ospina: Came out for the Dix park disc course. Great long wide open drives. A great nine to follow the short, technical nine at Centennial.
netposer (netposer): Temporary disc golf course was fun.
Hugh Bredbenner: Beautiful afternoon in the park with friends
Al Wodarski: Wide open public nature park
Antonio Anderson: Dix Park hosted the Margarita Madness 5K. It was a great event to come out and watch some people run, walk, and have fun.
Darlene Earl: We stopped to our baby could play in the playground but the fence was locked
