Safe Haven For Cats: what do users think?
Keri Van Fleteren: Safe Haven is wonderful. We have adopted 2 cats from here and have been so happy with the experience both times. Everyone cares about finding the right place for each cat, and you can just see that they are loved and well taken care of. My sister fosters for them and I can vouch for the difference in the cats after some special care. Highly recommend supporting this fantastic organization!
Jon Martin: An amazing place run by amazing people.Their name is accurate and their mission/passion are present throughout all their operations.Thank you all for what you do—and how you do it.
christopher mcclain: Reasonably priced people with knowledgeable services
Emma Smith: Wonderful experience at Safe Haven. We adopted little Goku (formerly Goomba) there last week & couldn’t be happier. I would recommend this shelter for people who know they want a cat same day. Everyone was friendly & welcoming. If I was a first time cat owner I might look at the SPCA instead, just because the process was SO quick at Safe Haven. At the SPCA I felt like, the communication was more thorough in terms of medical history-they log every single day and will communicate that to you. Where at Safe Haven, they have a general health summary but it’s not as detailed as Wake’s SPCA. just my opinion though! I still feel like the cats at Safe Haven are very healthy and taken care of but the paper trail that was relayed and physically handed to me wasn’t as through as SPCA. I still had a great experience & have been recommending Safe Haven, especially for people who have more experience with cats. Main thing is little Goku is healthy & happy!
Jacqui Murphy: I love fostering cats and kittens for Safe Haven!
G Sullivan: Very kind people doing needed service. Don't delay in setting appointments. It is worth the wait, you have done a good thing!
CO42: Bit sure how thourough their vet preliminary exams are
levi smooth: Tried to get a meet up for a cat. Never was contacted and the cat was gone before I was available 2 days later. It says you will contact me, yall don't.
Katherine Albin: Adopt with caution!I adopted a senior cat from the shelter. He is a wonderful boy, so sweet, so kind. I wouldn’t trade him for the world. However, I do not trust the people when they report the health of the cats at the shelter. I have had to go through thousands and thousands of dollars in order to take care of my sweet boy. They lie about their health status. When I went to adopt my cat, they literally shoved him upon me and forced me to adopt him. He is really sweet so I didn’t think about it at first. However, thinking back on I realize that they did this because they did not want to acknowledge the fact that he had has so many health concerns. He is in a loving home right now, but I am struggling to give him adequate care that was not disclosed to me at time of adoption.
Michael Maduske: Friendly staff, super clean facility, great place to find your next furbaby. 🐈🐈‍⬛
Lori Rhinefield: No kill cat shelter
Joshua Parker: Friendly and helpful staff performing wonderful deeds.
Kayla Augustine: Had a pretty bad experience adopting from here. The cat I took home was sweet but was incredibly sick. I was not made aware of this until 4 days later, when I brought her to the vet and they said she had to be euthanized because of her undiagnosed asthma. Due to the over 2k vet bill and not wanting to euthanize this poor kitty, I called Safe Haven for possible help and they said I would have to give the cat back to them. They took the cat back and I have not heard any updates despite my emails and request for a refund due to the traumatic experience. Be aware if you try to adopt from here. If you do decide to adopt from here, question if they know a cat’s entire medical history. I was told my sweet kitty was healthy but that ended up not being the truth.
Charles Chambers: Very caring group who offer great services at a more than reasonable price.
Rochelle Connallon: I'm coming to get one Feb 14
Nathan DeBord: Incredibly helpful and kind to this first-time cat owner. You can tell everyone there really loves what they are doing and I’m really happy to have found such a great rescue like them.
Christy Brown: They went above and beyond to help me with my difficult situation.
Briana McClure: We got our sweet boy here yesterday after going to 2 other shelters and being disappointed. We got there as soon as they opened as a walk-in and they took us right back. They introduce you to all the cats and tell you a bit about their background and personality type. You can tell all the volunteers really love the cats and the cats love them. They were sweet and understanding during the whole process. We got to take our kitten home the same day and they checked in on us days afterwards. They’re always open to answer any questions. If you’re in need of a sweet companion, come here!
Rebecca Stanley: Please help these babies find homes
aoudjit78: Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Wonderful experience!
Vicky Murphy: Being hard enough when dropping off an animal everyone was so nice.

Meow House Cat Rescue: what do users think?
Anna Bottcher: Horrible and disrespectful communication with fosters.
Lindsey Ross: Meow House is amazing! They did a great job in helping me find the sweetest cat that fits perfectly with my lifestyle. I could not recommend it more highly. The cats live in loving foster homes before adoption and are very well-cared for.
Lucy Maldonado: Meow House is an excellent representation of all things great with our community. This sanctuary not only helps the animals that are at risk, they roll up their sleeves to address the needs of the pet owners as well.
Bethany Guymon: I am very unhappy with my experience here. There is no way to contact Meow House, except by email, and then they were slow to respond (and sometimes not at all), and to top it all off they were incredibly rude. Not to mention they have a God complex in their power and authority over anyone that asks to adopt.
Casey Zboralski: They love the cats, work hard to match a new owner with the personalities of each cat to end up with a forever home!
Jairo Robyn: Amazing place
Kevin Clevenger: Didn't really get any help from them, but they are doing good work.
Rosana Thomas: The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines and much more. The volunteers and fosters are supportive and available for questions long after adoption. They truly care about the cats and want to make sure it's a good match all around. It's 100% volunteer run so no one is gets a salary. I highly recommend Meow House Cat Rescue.
Mark Burchard: We discovered Meow House through PetSmart. We went to an adoption open house for foster animal' at the Apex PetSmart in June 2016. I immediately fell in love with a tiny grey furball and insisted that we adopt her. My girlfriend was a tiny bit doubtful at first, but by the time we were halfway home, she had fallen in love. The only snag we encountered was that she was actually a he 😸! Other than that, Minky was up to date on his shots when we adopted him, and Meow House referred us to an affordable vet when it's was time to get him fixed and get his follow-up exam and shots. We LOVE this cat! He doesn't have any particular neuroses or show any signs of PTSD from his time in foster care. He's a happy cat. Smart too, he makes up his own little games in the middle of the night! BTW, we like that Meow House had a no-declaw policy. De-clawing is mutilation! Even though he's rambunctious boy, we haven't had to much trouble, as long as we keep enough scratch pads around. Sometimes when he climbs up Daddy he might draw a drop of blood or two, but I don't mind, it's worth it, he's my little buddy!
Kash Rogbeer '20: I would highly recommend Meow House to anyone seeking to adopt!! They are definitely not your traditional rescue shelter but these people are fighting tooth and nail to rescue cats from the kill shelter and that alone is a great reason to adopt from them. I got my sweet 8 year old Bella from them and I couldn’t be more grateful that they saved her!!
Kendall Cuthbertson: The volunteers do a fabulous job.
Alanna Broyde: I filled out the extensive application online for one of their kittens, and never heard back from them. Definitely disappointed, but it's their loss. I've been searching for a while and the fact that they won't even get back to people who clearly wasted their valuable time on their website is a total judge of character for the place as a whole. It's like they don't want their kittens to find good homes:/
Kate Higdon (Katiecat): TLDR: They sold me a sick cat and blatantly lied to my face about her condition. Do not adopt from them!I used to work at a store that associated with Meow House. During that time, I bonded with and eventually adopted one of their cats. About a month after I got her home, I learned that they’d lied to my face about her having serious medical issues and that she had an incurable and very contagious illness (Feline HIV) that they’d chosen to ignore. As a result, she’s now blind in one eye and has recurrent respiratory issues. As I’m also aware that their ‘foster home’ is simply them keeping thirty some cats in their house together and unseparated, it’s very, very likely that if one has this illness, it’s spread to all the others, as it spreads through fluids, such as sharing food/water dishes and litter boxes. Since they’ve decided the vet is either unnecessary or too expensive and they chose to directly lie (they told me her at-that-point cloudy but functional eye was all scar tissue from a botched surgery and her sneezing fits were a stress symptom) I beg you, take your business elsewhere. Their cats are not healthy and not being properly cared for. If you’ve already gotten a cat from them, I implore you to visit the vet and have them do a blood test. If you have more than one cat in your home, it could be very dangerous to keep them together. The illness is treatable if caught early but can cause a host of health issues if not addressed. All in all, they’re horrible people and I wish I’d called the SPCA on them for mistreatment if animals.
Allison C: Meow House is run by local volunteers and deeply cares for the cats in their rescue. There is no physical location, just foster homes. They do what’s best for the cat so don’t expect to just get whatever you want.
Corrine Carr: I rescued my cat from here. Love their system. All cats live in foster homes and are well cared for. So happy to be able to support them :-)

SPCA of Wake County: what do users think?
Greg Hutchinson: Great organization run by great, caring people. We adopted a kitten and the process was smooth and easy. They felt our excitement and made the process enjoyable. Their additional pet supplies are properly priced with the proceeds going to support their cause.
Chaz Himes: Very friendly and helpful staff if you have the chance volunteer
Dave C: My family loves to go here to see the dogs. It is a nice, clean location, that is well maintained by a small army of volunteers. You can see that each of them is dedicated to the animals and trying to find the animals a "forever" home.
M. L.: This is a wonderful place to adopt cats, dogs, and other smaller animals. If you're not yet sure about adopting, you can visit with the dogs and cats. There are 4 spacious cat rooms to interact with cats and go in as you want (after applying hand sanitizer). There is a kitten room that has a limit to the number of visitors. The dogs are usually housed in individual spaces, and you can visit with them by asking a volunteer to assist. The puppy room is amazing, if there are puppies, and you can visit with them, too.If you are serious about adopting a little kitten or puppy, you need to pay attention to the website. Schedule an appointment to meet for the particular animal you'd like. You can schedule an appointment on-site, too, but depending on the day, your appointment may be later or have to be another day.
John Cooter: Best place to get pets / fosters spayed or neutered..
cat: It's really what you see and what you get they mostly have big dogs but they do get some small dogs but if you looking for a loving best friend go check them out
Kurt Selden: Fantastic facility with great staff. Plus it's got a store to get pet supplies.
Ann S (Ann S): I adopted my pup from SPCA in 2013. I was impressed by the thoroughness if the adoption interview and the genuine desire to match the right pet with my family. Fast forward to 2023 and my dog has some new brothers and sisters and i am fostering kittens. The fostering program at SPCA is very flexible and providing a loving home to animals prior to their forever home placement is very rewarding.
Randy Garcia: One of the best clinics I have ever visited, very friendly, clean, organized and helpful staff and we'll stocked. This place gave me a great vibe to bring a pet.
Safaa Nouaim: Nice and clean 👌
Darlene Bailey: The hearts & energy shared are a blessing to us all❤️'Ellen Thomas' is remarkable & SPCA staff professionals 🏆Incredible people, volunteers & donaters of a worthwhile cause in giving Our beloved pets & animals the ultimate of care & good homes🐕🐕‍ 🐈🐈‍⬛Their awesome kindness of our community pet's health and well being is greatly appreciated⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️God Bless the SPCAHappy 2023
Marc Guilarte: It's a great facility with helpful dedicated staff.
Kelly Haass: Lena and I are adjusting well 😍😍
Norman Clark: Very clean and they take great care of the pets that are available for adoption. Large selection of both cats and dogs as well as specialty pets. Adoption process seems to be much simpler than many other places. A family member adopted two cats from our visit. I highly recommend that you stop by and check out what's available.
amber !: Cute animals:)
Samantha Quiel: We adopted our first cat from the SPCA several years ago and my parents adopted their cat during COVID. The staff and volunteers are always kind when me and my daughter go in to visit the animals! I also used their spay/neuter program for both of my cats several years ago. If you're looking to adopt, foster, volunteer, or use some of their amazing services, I highly recommend them!
Bryan Lassiter (ShadowBandit91): Great staff and very helpful able to adopt our new addition to the family same day process was easy just had to fill some things out but they were very helpful and it’s affordable
Jonathan Bryant: Great place to visit if you want to just play with some animals for the day or actually adopt. We got out cat from here and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
Heidi: We went to donate dog food and got to spend some time with the cats. The staff was very friendly and kind. We plan to go back and just give some animals some love.
Miesha Miller: I love seeing the different doggies and their personalities!
Angel Jackson: We love coming here on the weekends just to spend time with the cats. Staff is very knowledgeable. Just waiting for our third cat!

Wake County Animal Center: what do users think?
Carlene Kronenberg: Better than any rescue. The staff is wonderful and make sure you know all you need to for you're new furever baby!!!
Kenneth Smith: Just looking on website thinking about adopting a dog for the kids
Linda Howard: I have been missing an " outside cat" since June 2023. Went to Animal Shelter to see if Animal Control picked him up after hearing a neighbor say " they didn't like cats and had a gray cat picked up ". Sounds like my " Kobe". He wasn't at shelter and I am heartbroken 😢😢😢😢
hitlel lopez: Excelente servicio
John Stegall: Very rude people walking the dogs. Will not be back
Daniel Henderson: I went there to have my dog euthanized. They were very kind and helpful.
RealPersonal ReviewsRaleigh: Free adoptions right now. They are overwhelmed with animals and waived all fees for our naughty run away puppy. Its apparent that everyone on staff loves animals. Our dog almost seemed sad to be leaving his new friends. They do anything possible to avoid euthanizing lost pets and surrendered animals. You can surrender your pets here and animals get great vet care even if they are only visiting for a short time.
Alan Lee: What they do here to help animals is amazing. Thanks to everyone there for the help adopting our new baby
Keith Garehan: Very sweet cats and dogs. I can't wait to walk some fogs
cat: Everyone was really friendly was willing to give advice and show you the animals I like this place and definitely like the people a good experience
April Rohde: I'm just very impressed with the compassion and efficiency of this shelter. They work very hard to find every animal a home.
Amy Hodge: I am fostering this love! She's so sweet ❤️
Yonathan Cruz (OFoxx): Awesome 👍, I found a cat named Loki and he's so cute I adopted him and he is the cutest thing I really love taking good care of him.♥️ I love this shelter!
Zayra Bustamante: Is s clean shelter with a lot of dogs and cats looking for a forever home, so heartbreaking to see all those babies waiting for someone to take them home, at least there is a good flow of people looking for a pet, love that you can interact with them before take them home.
kenneth Price: Everyone is so helpful and nice. Process is quick and they all are concerned with the animal's well being. Highly recommend and urge everyone...rescue a dog. They will love you for it and they make the best companions.
Kimberly Gilmartin: The Director of the Wake County Animal Center, Dr. Jennifer Federico, has dedicated her entire life to helping animals. She has turned the shelter around from where it was and has weeded out adoption/rescue agencies who do not properly care for the animals. All her personal animals are rescues who are nothing shy of loving, fun, athletic animals. Most of her dogs are good citizen canines and blood donors. They are amazing with children and people of all ages. For anyone that speaks negatively against Wake County Animal Center, the Director or the staff, clearly does not know anything about them or they are one of the agencies banned from working with the shelter. Dr. Federico, you are doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work.
EMS Life: I adopted my first cat from here and the customer service is amazing and I highly recommend adopting from here if you are interested in adopting an animal that they house.
Katherine: I unfortunately had to visit because I had found a dog that was not microchipped and with no collar. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it was obvious how much they cared. Working with animals is not always a fun or easy job. But it's nice when the workers don't take it out on those trying to help.
Stephanie Pratt: What’s not to love!! Lots of dogs and cats that need a home!!Staff is friendly, lots of volunteers walking dogs and place is clean :)
Jennifer Lo: Have
Shay Brandon: I have been here for euthanasia for my fur baby due to having cancer and heart issues. It's crazy that my pet doctor charges $300 and wake county has no fee. They are nice people and don't rush you to give up your pet.

Cat Angels Pet Adoptions Inc: what do users think?
Laura Smith: I am hoping they can take some in doon
Faye Dowling: God rescue place for cats
Vinny G: Great people.
Laura B: We had a great experience with Cat Angels. We already have a 2 year old female cat, and were looking for a male kitten (because we had read that that would probably be best). Elizabeth (our adoption specialist) took the time to listen to us regarding our resident cat's personality and what we were looking for. She had an idea of which cat might be a good fit, and introduced us. I was hesitant because the cat she showed us was not exactly what we had envisioned-- the cat was young, but not a kitten-- and it was a girl. But, as it turns out-- Elizabeth was spot on! Our new cat and our first cat get along great. We are very pleased we trusted Elizabeth!
Kaii ღ .: Pickle Legs on Youtube said that this shelter makes it hard for cats to get adopted , because they interview people and berate and belittle them . She left the place in tears . Would not recommend adopting from this place .
sharita McNiel: I need to ask a serious question
Shana Toohey: Always great! CAPA really takes care of their cats until a forever home is found.
Baby Alana mia: My name is Erika lira ,Me gustaría ser voluntario. Amo a los animales, me gustaría contribuir con mi ayuda para darles amor y atención. No hablo mucho inglés pero soy más capaz de aprender.
Anamaria Holingher: I love this place! I was looking for a place to go volunteer and this has been great! The cats are so sweet and friendly and the staff are also very nice! I love how quite it is !
Valerie Hagwood: Ms. D took in my babies and she did not have to. I will be visiting this Saturday. She is a doll..
Helga Bluestone: Looked for cats to adopt. Cat Angels accepts kittens, pregnant cats and adopts out all of them. Generally, for the younger kittens, they're available as a set of two. I agree with their philosophy. It's crowded with cats in smaller divided rooms they grow up in. They could use more space and volunteers. It's a no kill shelter where every cat is guaranteed a home. They place a lot of not just kittens but catsThe hygiene is good. There's a disinfectant bath for shoes and Purrell for hands to keep their animals healthy. Our new kitty needed about two months to get used to his new home. He's become very affectionate towards us.Great place for felines
Akhand Bharat: Good place
Katie (Kitkat): Highly recommend adopting from here ! Cat Angels is amazing !
Jeannie Newman: The people who work in volunteer their live up to their name!
Susan Wenzinger: Cats are well cared for and very social. Lots to choose from.
Sharon Mills: My husband and I adopted two kitten sister's Florence and Helene. The people that work here are wonderful to all the cat's in their care. We couldn't be any happier with our two little love bug girl's. Thank you Cat Angels Pet Adoptions for caring so much!
Michael S: I went to Cat Angels to adopt a couple of kittens as companions for my partner, my cat and myself, and I could tell they take excellent care of their cats. They keep about 8 to 12 cats in each of about 5 rooms, with thought given to sociability with other cats, bonded pairs, dietary or other needs. All the cats were quite relaxed. Before you went in to a room you had to step in a shallow pan of disinfectant, and rub your hands with some kind of disinfectant as well. The several staff folks either knew a given cat's personality and friends, or drew in another staff member who did. They were all clearly cat people, some (most?) of whom were working for free, but all of whom were clearly competent and engaged. As far as I could tell they also have a vet come over to check things out once a week. Which is all to say, the cats appear to be well taken care of emotionally and physically.Their approach to the adoption process is well thought out as well. Their principal objectives here are to create a great match between people and cats, and also to protect the cats for the rest of their lives against some of the stuff that can happen to adopted kitties. So they check with your prior vets to make sure your animals get good care. They also have you sign an agreement that you won't declaw your cat, you'll take it to the vet, and that it will be an indoor-only cat.If you violate these terms, they can take the cat back. I Don't Feel They Are Being Capricious. (I would have all capped that, but I hate shouting). Declawing a cat is a TERRIBLE thing to do. The indoor vs indoor-outdoor issue, some might disagree on, and Cat Angels instead of arguing with you is genuinely happy to help you find other shelters (they have a map). Not in the agreement, but worthy of note, they have told us that if things just don't work out, they will always accept the cat back.TL;DR These folks are all about making sure the people-cat fit is high quality and enduring.
Linda Garner: Service and meal were awesome!
Perfect Cloak Shadow Gaming: I've been volunteering here for almost a year. I will be adopting at least one very soon. They are a no-kill shelter and the feeding/cleaning protocols are very strict to keep a clean place. Very friendly humans that work there as well.
Bobby P.: My business is next door and I know the owner well. This is a great place and I love anyone who’s an animal lover. The folks that work here are all super friendly!
H C: The wonderful people that operate this rescue have genuinely beautiful, loving hearts for these precious cats and kittens.
