Holiday Inn Raleigh Downtown: what do users think?
Topher Brooker: Great location near convention center, and room appeared to be clean. HOWEVER, these issues were huge.1.) No clean towels in the morning to provide us.2.) Broken elevator3.) Rude staff that hangs up the phone/is lazy4.) No breakfast5.) Anything we needed we had to go all the way down to the 1st floor to get it ourselves (we stayed on floor 10), also see #2 [broken elevator]Never staying here again
Debra Tatters: Great view of Raleigh from the 18th floor.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More

Jennyfer Kauth: Despite the great location, this hotel is run down and in a dire need for a remodel. Nothing good about it.Well...the water pressure is top.Other than that... mattress done,Ceiling flaky, wallpaper coming off, scary elevators.
Sean G: Conveniently located, but...thats probably the only reason this place is in business. Charging extra for parking (to the tune of 16.50, yikes) is eyebrow raising, but rooms are pretty desperately in need of a renovation... Picture attached of a chair that should have been thrown away and an AC unit older than I am.Front desk just doesn't answer the phones. At all.Holiday Inn is always hit or miss... This one is a miss.Rooms: In need of renovation, outdatedNearby activities: Excellent bars and restaurants less than five minute walks away
Agent Gomez PR: Please DO NOT STAY HERE! the upper rooms have really bad mold. The curtains on the back of them facing outside have mold on them from the cool air meeting the heat from the windows. It's bad mold too we changed rooms and the new room still had it. We were planing to extend but not anymore. The night shift lady was super nice but the 1st shift lady didn't care at all about it. She acted as though their was nothing she could do. Things why I'm writing this post. 150$ is too much money to put our health at risk. Please check the back side of your blinds b4 staying in the room
Jenni Tarango: All you need for a one night comfortable stay. Nothing special, could use a little updating.
Bill Franklin: Basically ok. Location is good. Room needs some obvious repairs.Hall carpet needs major cleaningNothing major that good house cleaning and a handyman with property manager could not handle.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
吴锐恒(Ruiheng Edbalt Wu): Very convience and is close to the bus station. The surrounding is good, with good restaurants and bars.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Great value …More
Naji Salameh: I had my father in the hotel it’s very dirty and the ventilation in the bathroom is not working, I don’t know why is it considered a holiday inn ..Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Dennis Haynes: This hotel needs a serious renovation. I was a platinum member with IHG and I have never stayed at a worst room. The receptionist was not very unprofessional. She didn’t give clear directions about parking or mention anything about the hotel during checking. She basically gave me the key and told me my room number and the elevator was on 2nd and 5th floors. When I got to the room I was surprised. The room had stains on the carpet. The desk chair was worn in several places and pealing up on the seat of the chair. I have seen chairs out out on the curb for trash pick up nicer then my hotel room desk chair. Their was rust on the lamp base, desk top had water large water stains, the tile in the bathroom wasn’t clean on the walls, you could seek the shower pipe sticking through the hole in the wall.I bet I will get the same canned response from the management that they give everyone. They can’t even write a original response. He will apologize for my dissatisfaction but hope I might stay there in the future to change my mind about the place. I will not stay here again. Noel Jennings, please learn how to cut and paste. We can all see your grammatical errors when you leave your response and we can see the extra commas, blank lines, or opening greeting twice.
David Bohn: Just plain bad. Only one working elevator, lobby smells, rooms outdated, smallest bathroom you’ve ever seen. Needs a major renovation. Or just knock the thing down and start over. Only reason it’s 2 stars is for the location. Go somewhere else.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Kathryn Reusch: The staff are wonderful and very accommodating. The hotel does not actually have a shuttle from the airport, despite what certain sites will tell you. There is breakfast, and it is pre-packaged donuts or muffins or oatmeal, with coffee or tea. There is a set of drink fridges and some snacks available for purchase. The rooms pretty clearly need a refresh, but they are clean and functional. The bathrooms are set up somewhat awkwardly so that you have to practically step into the tub to close the door, and the room is laid out and the mirrors are positioned so that there is not a lot of privacy for changing if you are sharing. Not bad, but needs an update.
Mollie Brown: At check in the two ladies working were busy talking to each other - we had to wait for their conversation to end before we were helped. We were in our room when the door opened and another guest walked in - talk about unsettling. They had given someone else the same room claiming we all had the same last name (were they not actually checking ID’s as they should have been?). We went to leave our room & needed to get back in - couldn’t because they had deactivated our key cards. Went to get new cards & they went in to how they de-magnetize easily - told them it wasn’t the key, it was them giving someone our room & them de-activating everyone’s cards.Really just not pleased with this whole check in/staff interaction - it felt like they weren’t paying attention & this incident was a direct result of their actions. There is only one working elevator for 20ish floors. The rooms, common spaces & furniture were covered in rips and stains.Overall the location and price point are the only thing this place had going for it. Would not return.
Cat: It’s okay. Old and outdated. The toilet and shower were in such a small space. Smelled like bleach in the hallways. Location was solid.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great value …More

Laurie O'Brien: What a beautiful boutique hotel. While the hotel is clean and simple, the attention to detail is incredible providing a luxurious experience. There was thought into every thing the hotel offered. To the flow of the space, the decor, the lighting, the bedding, the products, everything was done with intention. We had an incredible stay and loved the turnkey approach. It was clean, well stocked and a pure delight to stay there. Highly recommend to anyone coming through Raleigh or even a staycation for those who live there!Thank you for a memorable stay.
Sarah sampson: Really incredible place and so beautiful, the interior design is amazing. My mom and I stayed here the past weekend and we felt at home, incredible staff, beautiful house, and so peaceful. 1000000 % recommendRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Blakely Garrity: My partner and I live in Raleigh but stayed here for a special weekend. The location is accessible to Dix Park, downtown restaurants and bars, food Hall, Chavis Park. The details of the space are impressive and we were welcomed with a thoughtful card.As two people who are from this area we love to see a local business doing so well and hope that it continues to thrive. If visiting Raleigh or looking for a “staycation” we definitely recommend Guest House!
Gmoney: Great location clean roomsRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Shayna Murphy: Can’t say enough good things about our stay here. We did a short staycation from Durham for our anniversary. The room was immaculate, almost wanted to cancel our plans to stay in. We were within a few blocks of our favorite restaurant and it was so easy to walk over and enjoy the great food in downtown. Amenities were great and although we didn’t need much, with how communicative the team was I’m sure we would have been well taken care of if anything came up. We will absolutely be back!
Lori Resnick: Our stay at the guest house was fabulous. It’s super clean, beautifully and simply decorated. The location, in a residential neighborhood right near the heart of the city was convenient. I enjoyed the beautiful linen sheets and luxurious shower with toiletries along with simple breakfast offerings of yogurt, granola, coffee and fruitRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ron Ruffner: What a wonderful place to stay in Raleigh. The only problem...we only stayed one night. We will definitely stay again. The house is well-appointed and comfortable. We loved the place!!! Of note, if you buy the little ghosts (we bought 2), which are awesome, pack them in your checked luggage. Airport security didn't like them, LOL. Great place, look no further for a place to stay in Raleigh.
Richard Lamb: Helpful, generous and knowledgeable staff. Great location for walking to the visitor center, downtown library, art gallery and many restaurants. Great fireworks show for New Years. Less than two minute walk to a food court with live weekend music at the Transfer Company. I even took an art lesson from artist Barb Cherry at Art Space, an art gallery five minutes from The Guest House.
Zakary Hartford: My wife and I stayed here for the weekend and absolutely loved it. The space is beautiful. It is evident that a lot of care and thought went into the design, appliances, and furniture in the beautiful space. The bed was really comfy and the whole place was spotless. They provide yogurt, fruit, and granola for breakfast and there are drinks and snacks available for purchase. The location is perfect and there are a ton of great coffee shops, restaurants, and attractions within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here next time we come to Raleigh, we loved it!

Yasmeen Moshiri: Everything about this house was charming and thoughtfully done. The service was exceptional and we were so appreciative of the extra care and attention to detail for our needs. It was a great location which made walking around Raleigh easy, and the recommendations were spot-on for places to eat and things to do. Already working on incorporating some of their design elements into my home! Cannot recommend enough.
Greg Cancro: Incredibly well kept space with great fixtures and finishes! Super comfy sheets and beds, could not have asked for a more welcome and clean space, highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Annie Fritschner: Great Aloft location, room key on my phone, excellent beddingRooms: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Evelyn Capps: I'll start by saying I really liked this hotel. Staff was friendly, comfy beds, huge room and in a great location. Easy to walk to several restaurants. I stayed here 6 days and 5 nights and not once was the room cleaned or replenished with fresh towels after several requests. There is a sign that tells you after the 3rd night they will service your room. I waited patiently and then asked about service three times and it was just never done.
Erik Rogers: Hotel is in a great spot if you are visiting NC State. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they charge you $12 per day to park. I get when they do this when you are near a major transportation hub or space is very limited but that’s not the case here. Just one of those things that I feel like is 100% a money grab. Besides that great place to stayNearby activities: NC State

Paul McFeely: Great rooms. Very friendly staff.
Ijlal Ahmad Gondal: Definitely not going for bang for the buck here, have cockroaches in rooms, cheaping out on room being cleaned every 3rd day which is unacceptable even though I asked everyday, customer service is a lottery, pool was out of servic, only thing going for them is everything is relatively newRooms: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Mark McCormick: Entrance is far from obvious, but better to go in via the back of the hotel and park there. Entrance from the street (Hillsbroug) Room is nice enough, although the blinds only allow black out, or revealing yourself to the apartment block behind. Eek, scary for them. The front desk girl was sweet, and helpful. The bar was closed, I think. The drip behind the bar proclaiming to NOT be a bartender wasn’t really clear. The tap beer was completely off as they were maintaining the cooling. Overall, nice hotel, but could do with some sharpening up.
Brian Sporrer: The room was adequate, and some touch-ups wouldn't hurt, but overall, decent. Everyone of the staff members I had contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. Right in the middle of everything, from what I could tell.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Inverted Thrills: Great hotel
Angela Harrington: This is one of the cleanest, will run hotel we’ve stayed in. I’m a Titanium with Bonvoy! Kathryn was awesome! She made our stay very special! Gonza next door was awesome as well. David Bishop: Great stay. Clean, comfortable and convenient. A special shout-out to Robin at the WXYZ Lounge. She runs a tight bar and I look forward to returning again.Rooms: Clean, comfortable, qell-stocked and quiet.Nearby activities: NCSU campus, many food and drink options nearby. Downtown Raleigh is just a short car ride or public transit ride.Safety: Robin and the front desk staff diffused a potential security situation compently and professionally while we were there. We felt very safe!Walkability: In walking distance to NCSU campus and many amenities nearby.Food & drinks: Robin at the WXYZ Lounge was an excellent host. She runs a tight bar and the beer, spirit and wine options are excellent!Noteworthy details: Great hotel within walking distance of many things and driving distance of many others.
bianka goodman: Upon arrival, you have to go on the second floor to get your room. It's an inconvenience to use keys to operate the elevators. The room temperatures was either too hot or cold. Our room was not ready uppn arrival. My mom and I did some activities came back and room was still not ready. Above all that it was ok to stay here.Rooms: Very nice rooms. Bathroom was my favorite place. So fancy. Stand-up shower.Safety: Use your key to operate elevator.Walkability: NC State is right across from this prestigious university. There's a subway next to hotel.
Alfred Foote: The staff is just awesome, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The view of the NC State Tower is awe-inspiringRooms: Nice spacious room.Food & drinks: Great little bar
Sita Subbu Voleti: We find the accommodation and facilities provided are exemplary and services too very nice.Thank you and your staff very much ..Voleti Venkata Subbarao.Morrisville../NCRooms: NiceSafety: GoodWalkability: ConvenientFood & drinks: Delicious and healthy
Karim Mady: The room was massive , with everything you can imagine, nice toiletries, big shower and comfy beds. However they don’t ride up the room everyday automatically they do it every other day or you can ask for daily at a cost. The room has a basic coffee machine with pods that come in both caffeinated and decaffeinated and complimentary water bottles . Overall I highly recommend the hotel and the location is amazing

The StateView Hotel, Autograph Collection: what do users think?
A RAS: -Be careful about bugs, there were lots of strange bugs in my room when I complained they send a guy with spray to kill them , no action to identify the infestation cause and fix it-The breakfast service is so bad, the lady that works there definitely hate her job, she is disrespectful and it takes forever to do anything.DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL !!!!!Rooms: Bug infestedFood & drinks: Tribale services
Brenda Morataya: It's pretty and the people are *very nice*However, the beds are about as comfortable as the floor and it was disappointing to not have room service from the restaurant downstairs.
Kamisha B: I just left this hotel today and I already miss it!! Beautiful layout. Beautiful room. Loved the shower. Pressure and temperature was great. The restaurant Flask & Beaker was amazing…dinner service that is!! Jayona was thee absolute best & she made our stay awesome! If this review makes it to her…please tell Jayona her “Jersey Girls” already miss her!

xpat: Great hotel over all. The only thing would be to offer guess a complimentary ice water and tea in the lobby. Coffee is the only available option.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Pablo del Aguila: El precio-oferta no es proporcional. Esta cerca de la universidad, lo cual es una ventaja para algunos.
Lois Petersen: Beautiful, newer hotel located on the campus of NC State University. I had room 401, a spacious corner room with huge windows overlooking landscaping on one side & the city on the other. Everything is clean and well stocked. Outdoor heated pool, workout room & restaurant with bar. Some rooms overlook Lake Raleigh. What really stands out about State View is the service. It has been quite a while since I was greeted with such sincere welcome and hospitality at a hotel. Staff are very professional and accommodating. I have no complaints at all and highly recommend.
George Yorgakaros: Lovely hotel and where my partner and I stay every time we're in Raleigh. The rooms are clean and the hotel is nice - but where StateView really makes the difference is with service. Every person I've ever met at the front desk has greeted me with a smile and has been extraordinarily helpful. At the bar, Mimi went above and beyond even after they had closed to grab me an iced tea - a simple request, sure, but one that definitely put her out, given they had already closed. The fitness room is well-equipped and never crowded and the pool is comfortable and has plenty of outdoor seating above and around it.
Rene Bystron: As an Ambassador Elite member at Marriott, I've stayed at many of their properties. Unfortunately, Stateview Hotel is not one I can recommend. The hotel's physical aspects are decent. The rooms are okay and the dining staff is friendly. However, the management's lack of customer service and efficiency taints the overall experience.I ran into a problem when I asked for a simple request: to include both guests' names on the folio. I was assured by the receptionist this would be done. It wasn't.Despite my follow-up emails, I received only generic responses from a manager named Nakyla Barnes. They were quick to apologize, but my request was ignored. It's been three weeks now, and I'm still waiting for that folio. It's clear there's an issue with the mid-level management at this hotel. Their indifference towards customers' needs is shocking. If Stateview wants to improve, they must address this.In conclusion, Stateview Hotel is a letdown. If you're a Marriott member, I suggest you consider other properties.
Monica Tornros Jakobsson: We stayed at the Stateview hotel for 3 nights, and we wished we hadn't booked so many nights. Front desk staff was not friendly at all. Breakfast was so so. Rooms were way too dark. Bed did not suit me, it was so hard. My back was so stiff and I ended up sitting in the futon for the most of the night. There was of course some positive things too. Pool area is really nice. Location is great.
Brandi Myers: Very nice hotel and venue on the campus of NC State University! I will definitely be recommending this hotel to my clients!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Steve Murray: Mimi was so nice! The staff, grounds, experience all above and beyond what I expected. I would definitely stay again.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
ThatCrazy Chicken: Disgusting what they allow to go down in their facilities!! Putting the name of the Lord with it. How dare you!The location supports a disgraceful sinful way of life while allowing them to party like middleschoolers while doing it!Safety: Safety is not top priority when they allow what they do on the hotel grounds.

Hampton Inn & Suites Raleigh Downtown: what do users think?
Alex Thomas: Do not stay here. It is incredibly loud at night from the music coming from the nightlife directly next to hotel. Also the fourth floor smelled terrible.
Nicholas Risher: I stay at many Hilton family hotels for work. This is hands down the best hotel service I have experienced. My family and I planned a stop over night on our way to a beach vacation. We met Josh who is the evening manager. He made us feel so welcome. He went above and beyond to make our stay feel like home.Josh invited my three little girls to an evening craft activity to commemorate the 4th of July, which they enjoyed. Knowing we were a family with young kids, he moved our room to the quieter side so vibrant night life was less impactful to our sleep. Every interaction I had with him made me feel like I was the only customer in the hotel.Josh is the type of leader and manager that Hilton should be proud of. I would gladly stay here again because of him and how he provided an excellent customer experience. Thank you! Will return next time passing through.

Chip Stapleton: Cute, well-appointed rooms and very friendly staff in a convenient locationRooms: Unique details in the room that gives it a quirky, but upscale vibeNearby activities: Walkable to lots of food and shopping, including the Morgan street food hallWalkability: Very walkable generally, and especially for restaurantsFood & drinks: A significantly better than average hotel restaurant and a great bar and coffee bar
Daniel-Georges Levi: Just don’t go there…Unless you really need to be in the vicinity or you have to go to a nearby restaurant (plenty to choose from, it is the location) and don’t want to drink and drive. When in the area, go to the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill, it’s just but a few miles away, and such a better hotel experience, not to mention the hotel’s restaurant, a wonderful “haute cuisine” experience.
Sean G: This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. The front desk and bar staff were awesome, place looks brand new, restaurant and bar open until midnight. Not just the best hotel in the city but easily one of the best I've stayed at in the world in the price range.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Chaundra Stewart: Came to Raleigh for a day trip and absolutely loved my stay. From check in (where Craig greeted and took care of me), to my time at the bar with friendly bartenders and great wings. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay that’s within walking distance of local bars and restaurants.Nearby activities: Tin roof has live music and great drinks. Stefan Pietrobono: I received a $75 charge several days after checking out despite leaving the room INCREDIBLY clean and barely being in there since I only stayed one night. I booked through Hotwire and was given this hotel without a choice so if you have the option DO NOT STAY here.
Jose Palacios: Super rude at the reception, really a bad experienceRooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Adam Z: The original version of the hotel before Marriott took over was very dog friendly. No longer the case except tiny dogs for huge fee. Sad to see all the nice things in the world get taken away by race to the bottom corporate monopoly greed. Shameful. Also gross that even though this is no longer the same hotel they are able to retain the positive reviews from years ago for a different hotel. Scam upon scam, that’s America now. Thanks for making travel even more miserable.
Kent Bickel: Excellent location within walking distance of all the good foodie placesRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Isha Kumar: Exceptional service with a cute boutique feel! At 3 am on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend we had to leave a roach infested airbnb and were desperate for any hotel, and the Casso exceeded our expectations at every turn. It was 3 of us in a double room for 4 nights, and they were so friendly (even at 3 am) and so helpful. I needed a place to take a private meeting 6 hours after we checked in and even at such short notice, though they don't have a business center, they accommodated me and made sure I had everything I needed for my meeting. The room service was great, shower was awesome, and we slept so well. We were so pleasantly surprised at the quality of our stay, considering we had no reservation and it was a long weekend (during which time they also had a wedding at the hotel), and we never felt like we were compromising on anything or that the service was lacking. The restaurant staff was also wonderful and we used the gym one morning and found it clean and well supplied. We loved our stay here!
Tabytha Beebe: Such a cute hotel. Nicest hotel I’ve ever been to and I’m very picky and travel often. Afforadable, especially for govt/military, friendly staff, no weird smells or even feel the need to check the beds for bugs, Super clean and very convenient location. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be making this my go to hotel, when I’m in Raleigh.

Daud Waziri: Persia Brown, please read this review. This review is solely based on "Elijah's" (bigger guy, dark black hair, possibly hispanic) customer service who was checking us in.We paid for the room ahead of time via Priceline. We get to front desk and use the same card for incidentals. Swipe, and the screen says approved, but Elijah says it was declined on his screen. We get it swiped again and it says approved, but Elijah says its declined. We call our bank and they say there is nothing wrong with the card. We go to swipe the third time after being on the phone with our bank for 12 minutes and he says "per the hotel policy I cannot swipe the card for a third time." So you mean to tell me I was on the phone for you to tell me you can't swipe the card a third time? You let me waste my time to tell me you weren't going to swipe it anyway? We say okay what do you want us to do to get the key? He says pay $75. Meanwhile I pull up my transactions via online banking. I was charged not once, but twice. I show him and he says "nope, it was declined I trust my system."And then as I'm conceding to swipe another card he says, "let me help you out, sir I'm going to ask you to leave the hotel. I'm now refusing services. You need to leave or I'm going to call the police."WOW.I say "okay sir, I need a refund for my incidentals.""Nope, I can't do that because it was declined."And then I ask for a receipt and he says "no."Shout out to The State View who put us in a lakeside view room and swiped the same card we were using at Casso. AND comped breakfast because of our bad experience as Casso.
Tayllar Gardner: We stayed this past weekend for one evening while we were in town to see the Korn Ferry Tour at Raleigh Country Club. Our room was stylish and clean! The beds are pretty uncomfortable though. We received incredible service from Craig who honored our wishes for a room on a high floor on the front side. We had read past reviews about the train tracks on the other side of the hotel - we never heard it once on the front side. You do have a good bit of noise from nightlife but that is expected downtown on a Saturday night! The hotel is centrally located and you can walk to a ton of amazing restaurants too. We will certainly stay here again next time we are in Raleigh!Rooms: Super stylish! Also very clean. We enjoyed the smart TV too. Only negative was the beds - pretty hard and uncomfortable but that seems standard for Marriott.Nearby activities: Great restaurants and bars all around.Walkability: Very walkable! Centrally located. And if you wish to Uber/Lyft to avoid getting sweaty in nice dinner clothes then that's an option too and at a fair price since you are so close to everything.
Matt R: Fantastic one night stay! Traveling with my family, we were greeted and checked in promptly. Our room was on the 4th floor street facing. It was immaculate comfy and quiet. Modern finishes. Beds were comfortable. Parking in the connected ramp which allows up to 8ft 2in height was convenient and great for my tall truck. We will stay again when we visit the city.
Clint Westwood: Pretty hep warehouse district hotel. Decent bar and restaurant -try the red eye gravy and biscuits for breakfast. Don't stay at the end of the hotel near the railroad tracks. We were told it is a little noisy but it comes with a nice view. Stay at the other end of the hotel, in a room not stocked with ear plugs.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Daniel Spitzer: My wife & I feel so fortunate to have found The Store.Host and architect John Reese has created a remarkable luxury home that is so well designed and comfortable that you will regret having to leave at the end of your stay. John is a super host, who knows all the places to find interesting experiences and great cuisine. Raleigh has many charms that could otherwise elude. We look forward to returning.
Melissa Arthur: A beautiful suite in a unique building in a fun neighborhood. We loved it! John is a helpful and welcoming host.
Chris Orsi: We booked a stay at The Store for a getaway weekend. We wanted a different feel opposed to boring hotel rooms and overpriced airbnbs. We couldn't have been more satisfied with our stay. John was a wonderful host, excellent communication, and top tier recommendations. The location of the house is perfect walking distance to numerous restaurants and bars. We stayed for 3 nights in the room with the detached bathroom. John has thought of every little thing that could make the stay more welcoming and enjoyable. Can't say enough positives. Stop your search and book here, you won't regret it!Walkability: Parked our vehicle and walked 90% of our trip. Never once felt uncomfortable.Food & drinks: Numerous coffee shops, resturaunts, and bars/breweries within walking distance. Ask John for his introduction to the area and you'll know all you'll need.
Tiffany Firesheets: What can I say... The stay we had at The Store was amazing! John was the perfect host and very knowledgeable about great restaurants and good food. We were in walking distance of most anything we wanted to do. The Uber rides were also quick to and from The Store location. The amenities that were there were more than I could ask for, it was clean and so relaxing. I have recommended to friend and will be back.

John Bennett: We absolutely loved our stay at this fabulous establishment. Fantastic neighborhood, within walking distance of some of Raleigh's best restaurants and entertainment. John was the perfect host, provided locations and high points of downtown Raleigh. His overall knowledge of Raleigh and the city's history wasextremely helpful and enlightening. Thanks again John.
Reagan Simpson: John is a gem.He is very knowledgeable about the area, including high points for entertainment and food. We followed his recs and weren’t disappointed. He is truly a wonderful host. He has created a unique place that was much appreciated.
Eve Isenberg: John was very accommodating and The Store is super cute. My daughter thought it was the best place we stayed out of the five places on our college peeping trip.
Matthew Daniels: The Store was an excellent overnight experience. John the innkeeper/owner gave us a full rundown of the eclectic culinary options Raleigh has to offer. The bed was plush and cozy. The 2 person showers were unique with blazing warm water and pressure power to spare! The interior was a delight with a modern meets eastern aesthetic that put a smile on even the most world weary traveler. I could go on but it’s onto the next haunt.
Heather Peck: Wonderful unique 2 bedroom hotel. The owner, John, lives on site and was so helpful with recommendations on where to eat. Very clean and thoughtful touches. You can tell John takes a lot of pride in his place!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More

Diana Amaya: THE STORE was an amazing stay on all fronts from the interior design, the generous owner, and the central location. I especially loved the spacious bathroom and the clawfoot tub. Thank you John for a lovely stay!

Sarah DeAngelo: Where to begin? The Store has set expectations that no other over night venue can even compare to! The hospitality, attention to detail, and overall vibe of the house was beyond anything I could ever imagine. My husband and I got a night away from the kids and I am so glad we stayed there! John is so warm and welcoming, a fountain of knowledge, and has a recommendation for whatever it is you're looking for. He was so kind in making special accommodations for us and our schedule with our children. With the slow jazz playing as soon as you walk in, the beautiful koi pond, art, and plants in the living area, the atmosphere welcomes you to relax. In the king room, the bed is so comfortable, there are built in speakers throughout the bedroom, AMAZING haircare products in the bathroom, (which by the way, the bathroom also has connecting built in speakers AND a shower the size of a bedroom with TWO shower heads, a heat lamp, A BENCH IN THE SHOWER= mind blown), the room was a LITERAL dream come true. John revitalized this historic landmark and created a wonderland with his architectural style, and it truly shows in every detail of the home. We want to make a night out for our anniversary a yearly tradition, and I never want to stay anywhere else!
Kristina Jackson: For the short amount of time I was in Raleigh I couldn't have asked for a better experience in terms of accommodation!John was the perfect host with so many recommendations and insights about the city's history. Even though I didn't get to take advantage since a lot of businesses were closed on Monday/Tuesdays it was still very thoughtful. The queen room is the perfect size for one person and I was pleasantly surprised at how many amenities were available (there was even a fan for white noise that I 100% took advantage of).If The Store is available the next time I'm in town it'll definitely be my first choice. Thanks John for making my first trip to Raleigh even better!
Nicole Jackson: We loved our visit at THE STORE and instantly felt welcomed from the minute we arrived! John was a wonderful, knowledgeable host that was kind enough to provide us lots of recommendations for local eats and drinks. The space (both our room and the common areas) were designed beautifully, clean, and also well stocked to make our stay comfortable. I particularly loved all of the plants, unique pieces of artwork, and the koi pond in the backyard. The location is in a beautiful and quiet historic neighborhood, that is very walkable and close to many places to eat / bars. We were only about a 10 minute drive to the heart of the downtown (Foundation bar is a must!), and Ubers were cheap and quick to arrive. We can't wait to visit again!
Taylor Vanden Hoek: John is an exceptional host and can offer some great places to visit in Raleigh. The Store is comfortable, the location is great, all of our needs were covered, and the space makes me want to renovate my own place (thanks a lot). This will stay on my short list of places to stay.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Residence Inn by Marriott Raleigh Downtown: what do users think?
TERESA S: Absolutely Amazing!I really enjoyed my stay at this Residence Inn.The parking lot is easy to access. The room was very spacious and exactly as portrayed on the site advertisement. Silverware was also available in the kitchen. The receptionist was extremely helpful and provided great customer service. The guests and housekeeping were very friendly and cheerful. The food, at both 10th & Terrace and Overlook restaurant, was absolutely delicious. The Overlook restaurant offered the best Brisket Burger that I have ever consumed. Thanks to the cook and Matt for great service. Also, the service at 10th & Terrace( my favorite restaurant)was great.Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Best place to stay for multiple days in Raleigh.
Jon: We are used to staying at 5 star hotels, since this was a one night stay on the way up north we decided to give this hotel a shot....AMAZING! King room with sofa bed was extremely spacious and clean. The staff was great with quick check in! The location was perfect. Honestly, this hotel was better than some so called "5 star" hotels we have stayed it in the past.
Bruce Mitton: This chain of hotels is one of my favorites. This location offered every reason I continue to use this chain. Great stay.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Jimmy Turner: Edited: The hotel decided to refund my accidental billing discussed below. Without me having to reach out to them (I presume based on this review), which I think is top notch. I cannot give them 5 stars because I didn’t actually end up staying, but earn a solid 4 stars for more than making things right.Original review: Booked through website and defaulted back to day I was making booking instead of the next day (which was intended booking).Instead of being charged a reasonable fee for the mishap, the charge was the entire nights stay (for the night we weren’t there) and a full charge for the night we planned to stay. In other words, they wanted me to pay for two nights even though we were only staying one, and they had plenty of rooms available. The fee for this sort of mistake is insane. Surely, 25-50% would be more reasonable. Seems Marriot doesn’t want repeat customers. Won’t be staying at a Marriot again after this weekend.
Kevin Wang: Service: Service overall was solid. I'd like to call out attention to the Chef (Roz?) who was great! I've run into him a couple times and he was extremely friendly in greeting guests and he and his team cooks up a mean breakfast. Susan at the front desk offered a friendly check-in. While the hotel has recently started offering housekeeping everyday again, my room wasn't serviced during one day of my (4-night) stay. Also, housekeeping doesn't make your bed until the 5th day of your stay. I had checked into a room that wasn't thoroughly cleaned. The sofa-bed had a bunch of food crumbs on the cushions and there was trash behind the nightstands. Not a big deal to clean myself but a miss by housekeeping.Food: I don't usually add a food section of the review but felt I must do so here. The provided free breakfast spread is quite expansive - featuring 5+ hot options to choose from everyday including one vegetarian option, fresh-cut fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, and grapes), yogurt, coffee, juice, etc. I absolutely loved the eggs at breakfast. The eggs weren't the typical (un-appetizing) pre-packaged pre-mixed eggs served at most hotels, but were super-fluffy and made from fresh-cracked eggs.Room: I stayed in a King Studio Suite (820). The room was large (440 sq ft) for downtown and featured: plush bed, sofa-bed, writing desk and rolling chair, large bathroom, and kitchen area (full fridge and freezer, 2 electric burner cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave). The water pressure in the bathroom was frustrating to use. The sink pressure was extremely high, opening the faucet even half-way would cause water to spray onto my clothes. The toilet didn't flush consistently. On the other hand, the water pressure in the shower was consistently very weak. Additionally, there were a multitude of lights that couldn't be turned off at night, making it hard to sleep for someone who prefers sleeping in complete darkness.Location: The hotel is situated in a good spot at the edge of downtown, still close to several office buildings / food options and also offers breakfast and its own restaurant so you don't have to leave for food. My room (820) in particular had great views of the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at Lichtin Plaza as well as the green scenery views.Value: I reserved my room for $199/night (including daily $15 parking) over four nights. For the hotel's location, the suite's size, and the great breakfast service, I felt it was great value.I would be interested in staying here again but would definitely ask for a room with more consistent water pressure in the bathroom. I've also stayed at other Raleigh Marriotts including City Centre (great lounge for Plat+ guests, smaller rooms and features an indoor pool) and TownePlace University Area (newer hotel and better rooms, also with great breakfast, but location is out-of-the-way), and I'd summarize in recommending this hotel for a family that's looking to stay downtown.Other: I usually ask for rooms far away from elevator banks because I'm a light sleeper but was placed in a room right next to the elevator bank. Fortunately, the doors at this Residence Inn have enough sound deadening that I didn't hear any elevator dings through the night.Rooms: I stayed in a King Studio Suite (820). Heather Johnson: Rooms: The rooms are very cozy with plenty of space!Nearby activities: The Raleigh Convention Center is across the street and is a very easy walk. There are also a lot of other downtown attractions within walking distance.Safety: The front doors are locked after certain hours and only accessed with a room key card. The staff was very attentive and sometimes there was a police officer in the lobby.Walkability: It is an easy walk to many attractions in downtown Raleigh from the hotel.Food & drinks: They have an outstanding breakfast included with good hours. There is also a roof top restaurant there.Noteworthy details: Very attentive staff in the lobby. They were polite, professional and knowledgeable!
Chris B.: Very poor housekeeping service especially after paying more than $1,200 for 3 nights.Rooms: Bed sheets with small red stains. No house keeping service for 4 days, not even the bare minimum of emptying the trash cans or changing the towels.Food & drinks: The staff at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner were very friendly, professional and responsive.Noteworthy details: Multiple requests for clean towels in person at the front desk, by calling the front desk and calling housekeeping over a 24 hours period but the towels were not delivered until 5pm.
Jeff N: Never thought I’d give such a high rating to a Residence Inn, but this place was exceptional. Fresh, high ceilings, big windows, nicer trim and furnishings, great location, lovely rooftop bar, nice staff. Highly recommend for both quality and value.
Antia Banner: Nice hotel. Prime location. You have pay for parking though... $15 per day inside the attached parking deck. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had.Walkability: Across the street from Convention Center
zdeuyo: Traveler Type: FamilyOverall Review Rating: PoorTitle of Review: Terrible Service. Never againReview: The location was great. Near everything we wanted in a central location. However, there were issues that as a first time platinum member would prevent me from booking this property again. One, parking stated is was $12 per day on their public facing website. Additionally, when checking in via the app it confirmed this as well. However, when I arrived to the hotel they said it was and has been $15 for some time. As this was false advertising I asked for the them to foot the cost for the two day stay as a show of good faith. They refused. Second, I used two free nghts to book my stay and received a King studio suite. I also noted I am a platinum member and am requesting an upgrade when I booked this reservation. I messaged to hotel via the app on my way to the hotel to check on the upgrade status, my requester early check in, and late check out. The representative only said the original booked room was ready early and there will be no upgrades. I called the main Marriott line and the reservations office stated there were plenty of rooms I was entitled to be upgraded to. I called the hotel shortly after from another phone and checked to confirm this and they said the same. I then arrived to the hotel and again requested the upgrade and they said even though I am a platinum member they would not be upgraded me as they were almost sold out. I referenced my call with them and corporate reservations and they paused for a second and stated there was nothing they could do. What is the point of earning status with a hotel for them to not honor the very status entitlements they market to consumers? All of this occurred on an marriage anniversary trip with my newborn of 1 month. If this is how Marriott treats their higher status customers I might as well use my status at their competition who always has honored what they promise. Very disappointed.Cleanliness: GoodLocation: GoodAmenities: GoodDining: AverageService: PoorValue for Money: Fair

Big Snow Trucker: Nice hotel for Raleigh downtown. However security and management need better diversity training when it comes to the guests. Yes the demographic for guests here may be a little overwhelming compared to minorities. But yes, minorities can afford to stay at nice hotels as well
