Michael Glass: I started my visit in the main building. The first thing I noticed was the unusual mix of art from different countries displayed together. While the collection in the main building was nice, there was nothing exceptional.Having spent more than 90 minutes in the first gallery. I was hesitant in going into the second or east galleryHaving spent more than 90 minutes in the first gallery. I was hesitant in going into the second or east gallery but decided. But decided to take a quick look. I'm so glad I did.In this building, I discovered a large collection of Remington and Roden sculptures, an impressive collection of named American and French artists. The Egyptian and Asian exhibits were impressive. The big surprise was the Jewish collection of silver pieces. There was also a large collection of African/Black American garments, but after spending 4 hours visiting other exhibits, I was too exhausted to continue. While not world class, this museum is worth a visit.

Courtney Carlton: An awesome place to visit! Definitely recommend the train ride and carouselPlayground: Clean and well maintainedRestrooms: Clean!!
Rose E: This carousel 🎠 is over 100 years old...naturally they had to revamp it and it is motorized but much of it seems to be preserved...was a great experience 😀
John Turnbull: This is a great place for a family day out loads of play areas and rides to enjoy. The boating lake pedalos are also available. Food available on site too and rest rooms. Shaniece Gamble: We decided to come to Pullen Park after church I’ve been on many different occasions, however my 2 year old hasn’t this was his first time, and what do you know he loved it . Although many of the attractions weren’t open we still had a good time. Parking wasn’t bad this time either. We were able to ride the train and he played a while on his age appropriate play ground. All in all I’d say it was a fun day at the park ☺️Update June 2023We came back and it was amazing we brought our niece with us this time she and my son had a wonderful time !Playground: As always well maintainedRestrooms: Restrooms were actually clean !!

Holly Sullenger: Great place for families. Rides, paths, green spaces, food, and more.Restrooms: Several are available.
V Parham: Attend birthday party here. It was a little difficult to find shelter #4 since there is no way yo see the shelter number from the street. Also, a good number of the guests parked down the hill not knowing the shelters are very far away from the entrance point. Not saying there aren't restrooms, but I didn't see any or sign for them.
jah jah Frierson: Kids had a great time reasonably prices scenery was one of the best yet
Pradeep Kumar: Scenic little park very close to downtown. Good fit for kids - lots of rides and play area.

A beautiful place to learn and grow. I highly recommend and look forward to coming back, I’ve been visiting this museum since I was a kid! Bklyn Gal: Great place to go if your looking for a bit of history on North Carolina. You definitely can’t do it all in one day. There were a lot of other museums within walking distance.
E Y: I highly recommend this science museum. Admission is complimentary, with the exception of special exhibits. The museum boasts a vast array of exhibits that are both educational and engaging. I suggest checking their online calendar for special events and exhibits. Parking is readily available on the side of the road during weekends, unless there is a special event such as BugFest. However, the café could benefit from some enhancements.
Patrick Hiltz: This place is really cool. Lots of dinosaur fossils, minerals/rocks/precious stones, and even a butterfly room with live butterflies and a 2 toed sloth. Very cool.
Jieming Wu: 很好,值得你过来一趟。两个博物馆很近。可以安排几个小时一起逛。good
michael newman: Little disappointed that alot of the interactive labs and displays weren't working on the nature side. We originally went here 5 years ago and now again in 2023. As an adult nothing has changed much. Kids enjoyed it as they were to young to remember our first visit. If you do want to do labs do them first as they close at 3.
Ian Knights: We arrived here mid afternoon and walked straight in. It was a Tuesday in May and pretty quiet. We went straight to the Information Desk to ask what they would recommend seeing. They helpfully suggested going straight up to the 4th floor where the "Living Conservatory" area would be closing shortly and then slowly make our way back down to the ground floor. We took this advice and just managed to be one of the last visitors allowed to walk through the small but interesting Living Conservatory. This is based on a Central American tropical dry forest filled with living plants and animals. The best bits here were all the live, exotic butterflies that were quite happy to catch a lift on the visitors, in the vain attempt to escape here. In fact before leaving this area you walked through two sets of doors with mirrors to ensure against escapees. Apparently there are also turtles, tarantulas, snakes and even a two-toed sloth here. We saw the latter but he/she was fast asleep high up in the branches.Having left this are we proceeded to make our slow way down. Indeed there are 4 floors packed with information about all the flora and fauna to be found in the North Carolina – land (above and below) and sea. This included informative areas on minerals and rocks, notably emeralds and an intriguing dinosaur area with the main highlight being the huge fossil skeleton of the Acrocanthosaurus – high spined lizard!I liked the section which showed the workshop of Herbert Hutchinson Brimley, the British born director under whose stewardship over 60 years, the museum had flourished. The whole, museum was incredibly well done. Throughout, thought had also been given to children focused exhibits with interesting interactive Q & A displays to help bring everything to life more.We could have spent longer here and there was certainly far too much on display to take all in in one afternoon visit. And all the main parts of this museum are free to enter. Excellent.

Mordecai Historical Park: what do users think?
brandi nunn: The tour was very informative and the link between this homesite and the Joel Lane house is talked about. Our tour guide felt it necessary to make fun of the way and I quote southerner's mispronounce words. We enjoyed seeing the house and grounds but not the tour guide.
Dan Jahn: Free parking and a $10 ticket gets you a 1 hour tour around downtown Raleigh that leaves from Mordecai on Saturdays. We learned some interesting facts. The seats are very hard but with ample leg room.
Farzad Ehtemam: The staff were extremely knowledgeable about the history. We learned a lot. The estate and the artifacts are preserved in really good shapes. It wasn't busy when we arrived and we got a nice and very detailed tour of the entire place. You should definitely think about taking a tour. The garden behind the kitchen was so lovely with many flowers and plants.
Jerome Lazarczyk: Great historicity about Raleigh. The tour is excellent.
Holly Sullenger: Great place for exploring the history of Raleigh and North Carolina.Restrooms: Across from visitor center
Andrea Ponce López: Wonderful place, the tour was amazing to know more about the history!
吴锐恒(Ruiheng Edbalt Wu): It will open when the house is closed. The garden is really beautiful at summer. But do not forget to take your bug spray, there are a lot of mosquitos!
Joe Radosevich: Went for event in the park (Geek and Grub). Great location for the event, and looks like a nice peaceful park during other times.
Jaymster gms: Had a great time June 10th at the 2023 geek and grub festival i loved the historical buildings and the beautiful garden overall a very fun experience I will be back next yearRestrooms: 3 unisex bathrooms one is handicapped accessiblePicnic area: The are several benches scattered around along with some picnic tables
vimal kumar Chaturvedi: The tour is fantastic
Crystal Moss: Did the guided tour to get all the information and be able to go into the houses. So knowledgeable and it is an amazing part of Raleigh history.
Melanie Martinez: Excellent tour and astonishing grounds! Absolutely loved it!
Kristopher Bell: Well maintained park, we took the great Raleigh trolley tour of downtown Raleigh. Very insightful, learned a lot about the history and landmarks from two amazing guides. Plan to arrive about 5 min early, and total time about 60 min total including loading/unloading of the bus.
Jami Mayer: Very nice place. And Trolley tourRestrooms: 2 large restrooms and many nice areas
Douglas Christian: Excellent history. Nice place to hang out. Beautiful park.
Scott Aldridge: It is always a pleasure to go here. I love the place itself but also all the events that come here
Tyke Tenney: We just did the Historic Raleigh Trolley Tour. It was very interesting and enjoyable. The tour was a one hour ride through the city of Raleigh with the narration about the city of Raleigh since its creation. It was a great way to see the city without fighting traffic. There is adequate parking on Mimosa Street where the tour starts and ends. After the tour there is a walking tour through some of the houses on the Mordecai property. This is well worth the small ticket price.
Kimberly Favre: Love the plant sale
spencer wiegand: Enjoyed the history and tour of this park.
Jenna Waites: We took the tour and our guide was AMAZING!Super knowledgeable and such interesting details about the buildings and families who inhabited them. Leaned a lot about aspects of our history I didn't know before.Highly recommend!!
Hope ashworth: Beautiful area and enjoyed seeing the birth place of our 17th president. But being a bit of historical buff I was disappointed that there were no signs or information posted out side the house or the small buildings that were scattered close by to the main house. We followed the signs that were directing people to the visitor center but still we're not able to even find it. The signs led us behind the main house and through a back entrance that was a main street in Raleigh. No sign posted on any of the buildings that identified the "Visitor Center". We didn't stay very long. There was a group of people about to enter the main house for a tour but there was nothing posted about the cost for the tour.

Historic Yates Mill County Park: what do users think?
Nate N: I love this park and have been coming for ten years.
Sumit Srivastava: Beautiful place to spend sometime in peace.. Plenty of parking spots.
Kathleen L McCauley: A fun place to spend some time.Restrooms: Are clean. Very nice.Dog-friendliness: I’ve only seen signs that no digs allowed. Would be awesome place to go walking if I could bring my little Yorkie friend.
Jessy Hauschild: The people at Yates Mill were very kind to me and my summer camp group. They were patient and taught all of us a lot of cool information about animals, insects and habitats. Thank you Ms Laura and Mr Andrew for an amazing time! ❤️
Lisa Giloti Kopp: Great place to make a quick stop. Beautiful location and tons of great information.
Ivelisse Gonzalez: Beautiful
Chanchal: Attractive spots for photographers, however there is a board which says professional photographers are required to take permission. Great historic park, well maintained. This park has lovely board bridges, small and long trails in nature, birds, mammals, snakes, historic mill, small waterfall, a pond, picnic benches and classroom in the nature, mill overlook, log cabin. Plenty of parking, restrooms, maps are available at the entrance. Be careful while walking we spotted snakes.Restrooms: Well maintained and at the entrance of the park.Dog-friendliness: It seems it is not a dog friendly park.Picnic area: Many picnic benches are available at many places of this historic park.
Ally Klein: Great park with beautiful scenery and walking trails
John M. Conroy: Great park for a short hike to see the historic 18th century mill. The tour is excellent and allows you to learn about the mill's history and how it works. It still produces corn meal, which is demonstrated once a month.
Ying Wang: We love that there are 3 trails and at different difficult levels and although it's near water, not many bugs. Nice educational center/museum with exhibition of mill related artifacts and hands on activities. Saw a few skinks and many turtles. There is an area with tons of blackberry bushes lining up the board walk. We saw a squirrel sleeping up high on a tree branch. Beautiful weather with nice breeze. We are definitely coming back.Restrooms: Restrooms are inside the museum, south of the parking lotDog-friendliness: No pets allowedPicnic area: There are a couple picnic tables leading to the mill from the parking lot, as well as on the board walks.
Melinda Clark: I visited the Historic Yates Mill County Park while on vacation in North Caroline, and I LOVE this beautiful park.My favorite spot was on the boardwalk out back near the rocking chairs, there's a small isolated dock. I could sit there all day... until dark. The mill is incredible. The walking path worth doing!I enjoyed soaking up the nature/habitat of this region. Thank you!I can HIGHLY RECOMMENDRestrooms: Restrooms have entrance outside as well as a door in/out of the museum itself.
Gina Jordan: Beautiful. We especially LOVE the rule of NO dogs…..Yay!!! No dogs pushing us off the trails. No dog $hit on the trails…..sooooo nice. No barking and craziness. Thank you thank you thank you.
Kat: Lovely place to walk and there’s even a patch of grass to walk barefoot, confident there will be no doggie do. Serene place. This is an official wildlife sanctuary and there are now signs near the entrance that prohibit dogs for obvious reasons. To get to the mill, go straight away to the left of the parking lot. To enjoy a hike in the woods, go to the right. I recommend the Creekside trail for 5+ year olds, unless your child cannot resist the mud! There are wooden planks to walk on. For a real adventure do this trail and follow it with the High Ridge trail. This trail will take you to the Millpond Trail, which is your flat and easy walk. Both the High Ridge and the Millpond trails lead you to Yates Mill itself where the sound of the waterfall soothes your soul. There are picnic tables and educational center with bathrooms. The trails are all natural but the boardwalk is a smooth surface for strollers. The park is equipped with plenty of trash bins and such, so please respect nature and keep it clean. Enjoy!
coco rich: Short trail but very nice for a quick walk....the history center inside has good info..Restrooms: Were cleanPicnic area: Alot of areas
Tracy and Ryan: PEACEFUL! What a wonderful, clean & quiet park to stroll through after a long work day. The wind rustling through the trees, the sun on our faces & the little turtles on the log. *HAPPY SIGH* Who's ready for a nap?Dog-friendliness: No dogs allowed SIGN
Christopher Boyce: Unique park focused on historic and ecological preservation. Well worth a visit to learn about the mill, let your kids play in the stream, walk the trails, and take in the beautiful views. Just leave your dog and fishing poll at home. I brought both and neither are permitted here.
Nicolas Kressmann: Great place to walk and have a picnic. Only downside is that no dogs or bicycles are allowed.
Irina *****: Beautiful park , and interesting history about mill. You can have indoor tours just for 5$, it helps to keep it and maintain the mill and territory
charles carter: Beautiful with a trail around the mill pond and another through surrounding hills.
Jamie Lynn: I loved this place! We were visiting from NJ, and this is a perfect little hike for anyone... intermediate to moderate... there are a few different trails and so much to see! They are rebuilding the bridge, so you cannot access that part, however it didn't matter because you get to literally enjoy nature all around you! This is a must do for anyone visiting !
