Record Krate Raleigh: what do users think?
Jeremiah Crotts: I went on April 22 for the Record Store Day to attempt to find the Folklore long pond studio a vinyl by taylor swift. i was searching in the green bin with all the other record store day items, where he told us to search, knowing he didn’t have any and told us to search anyways. there were vinyls kicked up in a box that i though we could search through because it was open and i saw other people going through them as well. he told us to go check anywhere there so i thought it was okay. so i went to look through it and then he comes over and yells really loud at us, being ruder than the devil, being so disrespectful and then kicking us out. truly terrible service and i would not want to give him any service. if he didn’t want people going through the boxes then he shouldn’t have them out for people to look though, or set up a sign or write a box. he should not treat his paying customers like that.
Char: Super nice guy!! Great customer service.
Raquel C: good variety of vinyls, friendly guy at the register, and saw a really beautiful cat! will definitely come back!
James Pete: First off, the store smelled of rotten eggs. Second, there were buckets placed all over the store to catch dripping water from the ceiling. I didn't stay long but the few bins I flipped through, the records were way overpriced for the condition they were in. Also, the owner is very rude and has an extremely dry sense of humor which made the entire experience super awkward. I would definitely recommend shopping somewhere else for your vinyl needs.
Hillel Abrams: Don't recommend selling any of your LPs here. Most of the other area record shops will tell you what they are looking for and more importantly, what they are not. Not Record Krate - just bring it all in and I'll take a look at it. Thanks a lot. Works real well for RK since you are the one doing the hauling there and hauling back. The prices we got were much less than what we received elsewhere as we split the collection up before making the rounds. RK has no problem wasting your efforts and paying very little for your property. You can do better; much better.
Zaza Pachulia: Great selection but a horrible owner who acted like he did not want us in the store or giving him business. Extremely rude. I thought a store was there for consumers, not here though.
Randi Poirier: Adam is very knowledgeable about his inventory and he values giving the customers a good experience. He doesn’t cater to the mass-produced-dime-a-dozen clientele. Picked up some artists I’ve never heard of! Excited to stop back by Record Krate the next time I’m town.
Allen Plott: For those giving him a hard time about his mask and person limit, understand it's for your protection and his. I don't mind it at all and it actually helps me feel at ease. I can krate dig as long as I like and I don't have to worry about being in a confined space for too long. I mostly visit the Wake Forest location as it is the closest for me. But whether you go to the Wake Forest location or Raleigh location, it's always a great experience. He has a great vinyl selection to choose from and he also has other types of media like CD's and cassettes. I love to go krate dig and chat with Adam! He also does online sales as well and I have been very satisfied with those as well!
Dan B: Awesome store. Good prices, and fun to dig for records.
Carolyn Savino: My first time in, and I walked in without a mask. The owner asked that I put a mask on which I had no problem doing - his shop, his rules. Great selection of vinyl, and a cute shop cat, named Nico. Left with 3 records. Will be back.
Mathew Dankanich: Didn't even make it in the door, must wear mask👎👎
Dan Caugherty: Turned awayI was ready to browse until I walked in, when I was told that store had a max capacity of two.Two. Tee Double-you Oh. I am not making this up.I respect the rights of the owners due to COVID, but.. really? How can they keep the lights on this way??I told the next three people who no showed up that they were not getting in anytime soon.
anthony: i seriously don’t know what all these reviews are talking about calling the owner rude. sure, there is a two person capacity and you have to wait in line but he’s not rude about it, he just enforces it for safety reasons. he’s actually very nice, he was helpful when i asked him questions and even cracked a couple jokes. i would definitely go back and purchase again!
Russell Townshend: I used to visit the store fairly regularly until the person working there was rude to my son and his friends for absolutely no reason and wouldn't sell them anything.
Sean Roach: Kirk is the nicest guy. We stopped in today, after about two years since our last visit. Not only did he remember my fiancé and I, but he pulled a record out of a stack he was pricing that he knew I’d love - can’t believe he remembered after all this time! Rock on, Kirk!
Carol's Creative Corner: Great choice of music. Adam is Great. I know him personally. Thank you for being concerned about our health and requiring masks and limiting the number of customers. Anyone who is ignorant enough to give a bad review, must have a problem following rules.
Aidan Townshend: Has a pretty decent selection if you can buy anything at all. The owner was incredibly rude and didn't want customers so he didn't get my business.
Paul Cacciatore: What a dump virtually no stock not worth driving here….. owner Extremely rude
Nicolas Riquelme: Horrible, horrible place. Stunk inside. Worthless records. Rude owner. Don’t go.
Mike Lucas: Horrible smell, gave me a headache for the rest of the day
Ben Morrissey: Rude owner. Really creepy junky place, not great selection, don’t shop here.

Kim Myers: My granddaughter and I went to a concert here. It was a very friendly, warm venue and I found an old CD I had long lost! This store sells vinyl records and cassettes, old and new.
Rick Lawhun: Great store and an even better group of people!
Don Cappelletti: The selections are sick ! The folks are sick ! I go for vinyl and they never disappoint ! They have to rank TOP 10 on the East Coast !

Sorry State Records: what do users think?
Les Ault: Great little shop for all your vinyl needs. Great selection of new and used records.
Tin Dingo: My favorite record shop in town. By far the best punk and indie selection in the area if not the state.
Apollo Dominguez (Julie): The place is quite cozy with a nice selection of records!
Payton Massey: Decided to stop here during a short trip to Raleigh. I was really impressed by the selection, mainly the rarities bin- never seen a Thinking Fellers LP in person. If punk/HC isn’t your thing, different genres are still available. I happily left with a Falco 45. Would definitely recommend this store to any punk or HC fans, but also anyone in general who may want to find some unexpected gems (i.e. new wave 45s)!
Keith Richardson: Amazing collection of hardcore punk. What really stands out is the staff though. Incredibly nice and knowledgeable.
Timothy Byrd: I went here for the first time today and was not disappointed. Great selection of metal, I bought an awesome Bathory record from there. The prices were fair and I will be going back.
Jay Reynolds: I’ve come up on so much good stuff here. Good prices and good vibe.
Shanah Bell: They had a phenomenal vinyl collection to choose from. They also had some cassette tapes and other accessories on site (such as stickers, buttons, etc). The person working there was very knowledgeable about what we were looking for and very friendly. The pricing is on par with other record shops in the area also.
Doctor Quid: Excellent selection
Michael Misukonis: Excellent store! Mostly punk, hardcore and indie. Loved it.
insomnia iseetyler: This awesome record place is not in a sorry state what so ever lol!!! Awesome vinyls AND AWESOME CASSETTES. Yes those little plastic rectangle things that fit into that big boxy rectangle thing that plays those little rectangle things and awesome sounds can be heard. Gotta love it! 😊
Lorelei Ray: Great shop, sold a few records and they paid me a fair price. Guys in there were super nice and helpful!
Emily Knuerr: The staff were extremely friendly and helped me picked out a record for my dad. It was spot on and he loves it!
Landon: Great selection, and even better prices! Found a very nice first press of The Beach Boys’ Holland. Very nice guys as well.
Kate Price: Great shop. Good selection and nice space. Easy to look through records and quickly see what is there. Will definitely be back.
Kenny Timper: Great little record shop in downtown if you're into punk, metal, hardcore, and other weirdo subgenres.
Trinket: Wonderful local business and record label with a passion for all things punk, the guy who runs this place deserves an award for how great a job he does. Sorry State is a must visit in the city of Raleigh if you're interested in the HC and punk scenes here. Great service and great prices.
shima ross: Amazing 😍🤩 customer service and records
Darren Dodson: Nice people work there, great selection.

The have beer, Florida Seltzers and CBD water to choose from while your browse the vast record selection. They not only allow dogs, but welcome them with open arms. We were lucky to find some of the more obscure records he was looking for. And overall, we are excited to go back again and see what other fun gems they have.
cory collins: I purchased a decent record player a few weeks ago and this was my first record store I've been to in years. It felt like coming home, the selection was great, the atmosphere was top notch and the guy behind the bar was awesome. Nice Price Books & Records: what do users think?
Andrew Pappas: Cozy atmosphere with great record selection and good book selection.
Chris Toohey: Q. An ad a
Ladystardust04: Really cool place and I’ve found great stuff here. It’s not super cramped like a lot of other stores like this are- there’s lots of room to browse the books. It’s in a great location too!
Rasheeda Etheredge: Great store. Good selection of albums and books. Friendly service. I will definitely return
Michael Nelsen: An unbelievable store and very friendly staff.
Kofax Kofax: I went in there the other day and all three of the employees were wearing these scary-looking medical masks. It wasn't Halloween, so I'm guessing they must have some kind of contagious disease (?). Did not make me want to shop there!
Royo Drawinz: This is my favorite record place in the triangle area, i have spent probably hundreds of dollars in this store. I was here saturday and 2 saturdays before that ( im kindoff a regular) and i will say its been PACKED. Maybe im just used to it during covid and before everyone knew about it (it had the best comfy chairs!) But woah. A lot of people which: is good that they get there money but its bad for me because it takes awhile to get to where you want to dig! But i always walk out with atleast 40 dollars worth of stuff and everyone is always very friendly! When it isnt busy its one of my favorite places to be. Go get some records and give them more money because they deserve it!
Adam Sumner: Great selection, nice prices ;)
Captainblackleg: One of the greatest places on earth. Feels like a rainbow always shines on this little shop
Madissen Keys: Just such a fun place to go to on campus. I love picking out their DVDs, and they obviously put real care into the causes they promote, such as the Prison Books Collective.
Eddie Lassiter Jr: A great selection of music CDs. Although physical media seams to be all but gone, thanks to places like this you can still indulge. Good selection of blu-rays and DVDs also. Friendly staff.
Naomi Roslyn: Small space but packs a punch! Really awesome and well-sorted record collection. New and used. Not a ton of used books but fair prices and interesting sections.
Anne M: Great store. Everything a used bookstore should be - nice selection of vinyl, CDs, DVDs, VHS, as well as, of course, books. If you are looking for some hard-to-find science fiction paperbacks (or hard cover) they might have them here. I brought in some things to sell, and the bookseller was fast and friendly, quickly sorted my things, checked the quality and I feel gave me a very fair cash price for what he chose to buy. Conveniently located near NC State with that "college town" vibe that those of us who are older still enjoy very much. Quite a few people sitting outside eating at the place next door on the lovely fall day of my visit.
Collin Yates: Awesome selection of records, books, and a whole bunch of other interesting stuff.
Burdy M: I really liked the store wish it was cleaner and more organized…I bought an Ari Lennox album in the plastic went to play it for the first time freshly peeled off plastic and it was scratched on both sides…tragic
Paul Fowler: Not much for used records. A ton of new stuff though and a decent second hand book collection. Public restroom would have got them 4 stars.
Jake Cochran: Definitely my favorite record store. Loads of new stuff, good deals on used stuff, nice people working there that’ll help you look for something. There are a lot of record store options in Raleigh and most of them are good for different reasons but Nice Price does everything very well. Unfortunately I can’t speak to the used book section of the store but I’m sure it’s nice too.
23ethan23: Nice employees and good selection of books movies and cds
Ryan Williams: The smell of old books and the varied assortment of music and literature makes this place a must return. My son and I have found all manner of cds and tapes and books to keep us entertained for hours, since he got a functional tape deck and cd player I forsee many hours and many dollars spent in this fine little store.
Gavin McGuinn: Nice quaint store perfect for finding a new read.
Lisa Lindsay: Great selection of used books and records!

The Pour House Music Hall & Record Shop: what do users think?
Luis Z: This venue brings the guns when it comes to quality sound, and more often than not the acts use it to their advantage. This is the quintessential music venue of the region, if you are an audiophile this is the place. Service is strong, beer is cold, good times.
J. Thompson: Private dueling pianos event was fantastic. The pianists were energetic and super talented.
Jennifer Bozeman: Super cool local music venue!Although I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any alcohol in my drink.
KO Beckford: This was popping. It was fun. The families had fun
Norman Rogers: This is a great intimate concert hall. I wish they would improve the top end speakers.
Rob Devinney: Such a great staff and well run venue. They went out of their way to accommodate my son during a show. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Amanda Winslow: Great place to catch some live music. Delicious cocktails and a wide selection.
Tony Wisdom 4 All: Great place for live entertainment when you don't want to dress up. These types of places increase Raleigh's cool factor.
Alex Hall: Best spot in town to see live music. Record store upstairs by day and music venue by night. Cheap drinks and a friendly environment. Always love coming here!
Kathryn Adams: Cozy venue with a nice bar, cool little stage, great atmosphere, and friendly staff!
Melodie Majette: Visited the Pour House to see Inikio! It was a small bar with a stage BUT the way they handled the entering of patrons by double checking tickets and constantly updating while we stood in line was impressive. Once inside, although it was small, I felt comfortable and not clostrophobic! They made sure they didn't overfill the venue. Bartenders were friendly and I enjoyed!
immadiva03: Very limited seating be prepared to stand! Other than that I had a great time
Ahmed Ehab Elsabbagh: Great show and venue! Like to visit there on the weekends. Great staff and affordable drinks.
ralf burkart: Good venue
Danny Sodano: Always a good time
Burl Womack: Great music, not too packed. Bartenders are super professional and attentive.
Jimmy Schmid: “Of Good Nature” great band out of Charlotte has got it going on. Saw them last year and they have really come together as a band.
Aiden Sammons: Good spot
Lisa M: Great shows. As w any music venue drink prices are high & selection is limited.
Michael Kirschner: Fun venue. Great beer selection.
Amanda Underwood: Saw one of our favorite bands here recently, the show was awesome, the venue is on the smaller side but the employees and the crowd were very friendly. The tickets are very reasonably priced.
