Blue Ribbon Residential Construction, Inc.: what do users think?
The Window Works Co: Window Works Co. loves to work on projects with Blue Ribbon! They take great care of their customers and do good work; exactly what you’re looking for in a construction company.
Lou Davis: I selected Blue Ribbon after speaking with several contractors. The project included a primary suite addition, redesign of the front porch/entry/foyer, removal of existing breezeway and raised patio - replaced with a three-season Eze-Breeze screened porch and Trex deck, HVAC and ductwork replacement, plumbing and electrical updates to accommodate the suite addition. This was a large project, encompassing the work of many subcontractors selected by Blue Ribbon. I was impressed with their design, hands on approach, ease of their online project tracking, selection and quality of subcontractors and the attention to the smallest detail. The owner, John Sperath, was involved from the very beginning, managing the design and approval processes, and continuously reviewed the project through completion, touching base with me to ensure satisfaction. The staff is pleasant, customer-focused and efficient. The project manager, Ian Herd, was attentive to all phases of the work, continually checking in to listen for any concerns or changes. His follow through to ensure subcontractors were completing their work timely was exceptional. This experience with Blue Ribbon has been extraordinary, from the design stage through completion. I highly recommend this firm.Services:Tile work installation,Install flooring,Fan installation,Paint indoors,Exterior painting,Remodeling,Drywall installation,Plumbing fixture installation,Drywall repair
Felicia Gressette: We had a great experience with Blue Ribbon, which we contracted to design and build a screened porch, using the foundation of our existing deck, and replace the decking, railing and stairs of the unscreened portion with Trex composite material. We were particularly impressed with the quality of work from their dedicated subcontractors -- the framing and finish carpentry were meticulous, as was the painting. We had a very good project manager and are thrilled with the results. We've had several people see the porch and remark that it looks like it has always been part of our house. We'd work with Blue Ribbon again without hesitation.Services:Fan installation,Exterior painting,Remodeling
Chris Phillips: We hired Blue Ribbon after bidding with a few companies. Their gantt charting and procedures really impressed us. Their design process helped us figure out our new kitchen layout. They use fantastic and responsible subs. They treat your home and family like a priority and listen to your needs. They expect quality work from their subs and warranty their work. Very good at figuring out solutions to issues that inevitably come up.
Bunn Gray: It’s hard to find not only a construction firm you trust but one you trust in your home!, John Devlin, Chevy and all the trades were Totally Professional, attention to detail is second to none, we could not be Happier with our remodel Kitchen and new room addition( Mother-in-law Suite), I Highly recommend this Firm to Everyone
Joan Pia: We had our kitchen redone and now have more space than ever before. I have gotten lots of compliments on the new kitchen especially the cabinets and counter tops. Blue Ribbon is very professional and kept us up to date on the daily activity. They were ready to listen to any problems that arose and solved them quickly. I would highly recommend them for your next project.
Lane Houk: John and his team at Blue Ribbon are awesome... thorough, detailed, on-time and with a 5-Star service experience! Highly recommend for any construction or renovation project you might need.
Casey: John's attention to detail and level of customer service is second to none. You can actually see the renovations come to life with their 3D computer models. When he says something will be done in this time frame, he always delivers. Absolute professionals.
Amy Picariello: Blue Ribbon is an amazing company with caring employees. They are all very knowledgeable and will design and execute exactly what you envision. We work directly with Blue Ribbon as their electrical contractor and they are at the top of our builder list for professionalism, accurate scheduling, and timely communication (just to name a few). Anybody who wants the best in designing and building should go visit their show room, talk with John Devlin, and and check out all their awards!
John Allen: Blue Ribbon Construction completed a number of projects at out home: finishing our basement, adding an addition, adding a large deck and decorative concrete work. The workmanship on everything was outstanding and we could not be happier with the results. What really set Blue Ribbon apart however was the careful planning which went into the project before they began which ensured that everything went smoothly and according to schedule. I highly recommend them for any remodeling or home addition you may be contemplating.
CurtisAndAllison Webster: Knowledgeable, Detail oriented, Patient, and Amazing are the words that come to mind when I think of John Devlin and the Blue Ribbon team. I approached John expressing my interest to have my unfinished basement space turned into a ManCave. I dragged my feet for over a year and the whole time John was patient, shared ideas with me, but never rushed me, and as soon as I was ready... he rolled me into their very well organized development process. It is clear that NOTHING is left to chance and that the project will be PERFECT due to all the planning and detail that is done UP FRONT!!!!During this year, I have also been able to learn from John professionally as we are both in Sales. His process driven systems and work ethic are commendable. The care and enthusiasm he has for his craft and his clients is something I seek to duplicate in my own.Thank you John and Blue Ribbon for setting such an awesome example and doing a great job for so many years!
Jeanine Klotkowski: John Devlin and his team at Blue Ribbon Construction did a complete build out of our basement. Their quality of work is superior. They came in and did the design, helped us with color choices and they finished ON TIME! The construction crew was professional, clean and courteous. I would highly recommend them for their any remodel project you are considering.
Fabiano Cunha: John Devlin is great! His work is award winning beautiful and professional! Being in the construction field myself, I can vouch for his quality work! I have a couple of customers John did some remodeling, and it is of the highest quality! If the work my customers need is too big for me, I send it directly to him!
Chip Johnson: Great remodel experience. John and Derrick communicate and manage the project with skill and care. I'd recommend Blue Ribbon to friends for a job well done.
Chris Conrad: Derrick was great. He really followed through on the project and cared about doing the best job possible. I would highly recommend them for any of your home remodel needs!

Riverbirch Remodeling of Raleigh: what do users think?
Tiffany Hoke: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessChip and Kristen are very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We hired them to do a full master bath remodel. The process went smoothly and we are thrilled with the finished product. Several months later, one of the sinks cracked (my fault, not theirs) and they replaced it quickly. I highly recommend Riverbirch.Service:Bathroom remodeling
Jonathan Serxner: Our experience with Riverbirch Remodeling of Raleigh was excellent. Riverbirch is an all in one, design/build company. This means the customer works with them from the inception of the project through all phases of design and construction until it is complete. It is the best way to go. Riverbirch is the best way to go! Chip, Kristen, and their staff of project managers and carpenters are very thorough and detail oriented from beginning to end. Their choice of sub-contractors reflects their high standards for all of the trades. Our project was a major addition to the second floor of our home. The primary bedroom was expanded, and a new primary bathroom and walk in closet were added. This involved extensive framing and foundation reinforcements to living room, laundry room, and crawl space below in order to support the new spaces above. To be clear, this was a long and stressful process. The construction phase took nearly six months. Thanks to Chip’s honesty and openness about how remodeling works, we were prepared for this. He also prepared us for the fact that projects of this size always have little “surprises”, and there are always going to be changes to the plan. We had some of those, and they were handled expertly. In spite of all of the challenges facing the construction industry in early 2022, the Riverbirch crew and subs kept our project going forward consistently. Communications were open, we were always able to ask questions, and always had access to observe the work. It was quite a time to be living in a house that was about half construction zone. But it was worth it.We are extremely happy with the outcome! Our new, high quality living spaces have increased our enjoyment of our home and its value, as well. If you are considering major remodeling or an addition to your home, we recommend Riverbirch without hesitation.Robin and JonathanServices:General construction,Tile work installation,Install flooring,Bathroom design,Home renovations,Bathroom remodeling,Fan installation,Installation,Paint indoors,Exterior painting,Carpentry services,Interior structural repairs,Plumbing fixture installation,Roof installation,Plumbing services,Home addition construction,Flooring
scott elvington: Chip and his team created a bonus room from our 3rd floor walk up attic. We had considered turning it into a bonus room for many years, and found Chip and his team by searching online. After reviewing other contractors, we decided to use Benchmark and were extremely pleased with the finished product. Chip came out a number of times to assess the project and discuss design ideas with us. We reviewed the budget and believed it was fair and comparable with what we received from other contractors. Chip was there every time to introduce his subs to us, and we felt very comfortable with each of them. Each sub Chip used was respectful, polite, and kept their work-space clean. Our third floor, due to the lines of the roof, was very challenging with many angles, so we had to make some changes along the way. Chip was accommodating with this and worked with us to make the necessary adjustments. The timeline for the job was fair but did extend a little longer than expected. Chip was easy to access when we needed him and was at our house frequently to check up and touch base on the progression.Overall, we were very pleased with the outcome, the room is beautiful, we have had many compliments, and we would have no hesitation in recommending Chip and his team at Benchmark.Thank you Chip,SE and DEAdditional comment: January 2022Had an issue we discovered almost 2 years after the project was finished, where there was hole in a closet ceiling of the floor below. We believed it happened during the remodeling of the third floor. Despite it being after their warranty period had ended, I called and asked if they would be willing to come take a look and get it fixed for us. Without hesitation, they came out and agreed to make it right! Excellent quality service and would definitely recommend Riverbirch!SE and DEServices:General construction,Install flooring,Fan installation,Installation,Paint indoors,Drywall installation,Plumbing fixture installation,Flooring
Heather McKenney: Our experience with Kristen and Chip was a delight from the very start. We've lived in our home for nearly 10 years, and have wanted to transform our walk-out basement since we moved in. Chip met us and reviewed our space, we discussed our budget and vision for said space, and Chip and Leah went to work on a design. A few small tweaks later, we had a visual representation of what the space would look like and we were off! Kristen was with us every step of the way, and the whole team were eager to answer questions, problem solve, and to keep us informed. We'd heard horror stories of remodels, but our experience was only pleasant, and we tell anyone who will listen of our Riverbirch experience. Our basement has been finished for a couple of months, and we spend all of our waking leisure time there. What rest of the house? Who needs it! We love our space and could *not* be more thrilled. Thank you to the whole Riverbirch team for making - truly - our dream space a reality!!Services:General construction,Paint indoors,Remodeling,Drywall installation,Flooring
Wes Stichweh: We hired Riverbirch Remodeling for our kitchen renovation after meeting with three other potential contractors. Ultimately, we chose Chip and Riverbirch for three reasons:1. Their process allows you to have a very close estimate of your final costs before getting into the weeds of what all your selections will be, which is nice. Most people don't know those fine details in the beginning, so having a good estimate of cost without those details is helpful.2. They weren't the cheapest. I don't want the lowest bidder making permanent changes to my home. There are so many shortcuts remodelers can make in the form of cheap material and labor to win jobs with low customer costs. I wanted to make sure I was getting high quality workers with high quality materials. I knew I was going to get that after meeting with Chip. If you want something nice, you have to pay a little bit more to get it.3. Communication. I've heard countless renovation horror stories, most of which involve a contractor who never returns calls or rarely communicates the details of the job. Riverbirch gets 5 stars on communication. I had daily updates on where we were with the project, and when there were delays (there will be delays), I was notified immediately and given updated, realistic timelines. The nature of our communication alone gives reason enough to hire them again. It ended up being a good choice because our kitchen turned out great! They delivered with high quality, on-budget work. I would hire them again for any future renovation projects.Services:General construction,Installation,Remodeling
Mae Sheaffer: Chip, Kristen, Jon and their entire crew were extremely professional and helpful. From initial consultation to finished product, they were very open to listening to us (which is shockingly less common in this industry than you’d think!), providing design and construction advice, and helping us understand the process throughout. Our master bathroom is gorgeous and functional - definitely worth the investment. If you are looking for a bathroom remodel that isn’t just your average remodel experience - Benchmark is the way to go!Services:Tile work installation,Install flooring,Installation,Paint indoors,Waterproofing,Remodeling,Plumbing fixture installation
Rebecca Council: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueChip and team did a recent (early 2020) remodel of our 1990s kitchen as well as project managed a first floor flooring upgrade. Craftsmanship and customer service was excellent! The 3D design created upfront was very beneficial as we could visualize the end product.
Joel Perrego: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueChip and company at Benchmark does great work! It's awesome to be able to see 3d renderings of your remodel before any work is done. And the finished product is spot on! Very professional, very thorough and good communication! I would highly recommend.
Jeremy Blum: Benchmark did a large kitchen remodel for us plus a project to convert a 3 seasons room into living space. Despite many unusual items the work was done in a timely manner and the finished product looks as we intended. Chip is easy to contact and easy to work with. I would recommend Benchmark for a remodeling project.
Theresa Courage: Chip and his team are awesome! They are remodeling our kitchen and 2 1/2 baths. Chip did a 3d design for the kitchen remodel, which I didn't think we needed at first, but it allowed us to see multiple options for layouts that we hadn't thought of. He managed to add about 30% more cabinet space. Also, he showed us price and style options for cabinets and even went with us to pick out the tile and the counter. They started on time protected all the floors, and have kept the place in great shape while they're working. I'll post before after pictures soon. I'll gladly be a reference for them.

S & A Construction: what do users think?
Beth Cooper: We had a complete renovation of our kitchen and bath a few years ago. The experience was TERRIBLE. Ed was the most unprofessional person I've ever worked with. We didn't leave a review because there were several other reviews expressing concern over defamation law suits, etc and it just wasn't worth it. However...we recently sold our house and through the inspection process almost 100% of the items that came up on our inspection were the results of the work done by S & A. The quality of work was way worse than we originally thought. If you are looking for quick work and are going to flip the property - this may be the crew for you but if you are looking to invest in your home, I would strongly suggest you consider other options.
Tiffany Oldham: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,ValueRUN!
Jad Chami: Unprofessional. Not even sure if their insurance is legit. My neighbors complained of their driving through our neighborhood
Janelle Ebersole: Positive:ProfessionalismWhile we needed to follow up on items, it was taken care of. Ed and Misty were always easy to talk to. We certainly enjoy having a covered front porch and back deck.
Corinne Bailey: S & A did a great job of the remodeling of our kitchen and 3 bathrooms. Misty and Ed were great and responsive to all our needs.Hands out to our foreman Efrom and and ALL the construction crew. They did a wonderful job with their punctually and performance and respectfulness. We would hire S & A again in the future
Karen Brennan: I've used S&A construction for many projects. The attention to detail and quality work is outstanding. Highly recommended!
Andrea Updyke: Have had an appointment scheduled for nearly 2 weeks to get an estimate for adding a shower to our bathroom. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes past my appointment time, I receive a call from the business letting me know they will not be able to work on my home because they "only do full room remodels". I said, this would have been a full remodel of my bathroom, something they could have easily followed up on or cancelled the appointment in advance. It is wholly unacceptable to allow me to sit here for over an hour waiting for someone who would never come. Terrible business practice and I will be using another company for my full room remodel. If I could give zero stars I would.
Mike Bitzenhofer: This review has required multiple revisions as things continue to come up after our remodel by S&A Construction .Ed's lawyer called me and threatened a defamation law suit. Later I recieved a letter threatening the same. Defamation can only be proven if the statements are not true. I wonder how many people removed their reviews after being intimidated? Our project failed Town of Wake Forest Inspections 16 times. Our project consisted of an addition to our home with a complete kitchen and master bath remodel. Interior and exterior painting and a new roof over the addition. All of these are services are advertised as being provided on the S&A website. The roof on the addition developed a leak. Upon further investigation the roof was not installed per building code. This was not caught by the building inspector because that is not an item that they inspect. Only after getting the NC Licensing Board involved did Ed have our roof replaced per code. The roof was repaired and he got to keep his license in good standing with no record of the code violation. When he came to the house to examine the damage he did not believe that his not following the building code was responsible for the leak. The NC inspector did not agree with his assessment. When it came to the water damage on the ceiling Ed suggested that we just spray paint over the stains and then paint it with ceiling paint. We were concerned that all of the insulation above the ceiling could be growing mold. We ended up having to file on our home owners insurance to have the work done. I asked Ed to pay the $1000 deductible, he did not return my email. There were many other problems to detail here. Please refer to my previous review on Angie's list for further details.
Martin Johnson: Hard working and got two bathrooms remodeled on time. there were some issues, but they made them right.
Sarah Alexander: I highly recommend S & A Construction. We just had our kitchen and two bathrooms remodeled and the entire process was very smooth. We were working within a very strict budget, and I appreciated the way Ed guided us as we made decisions and selected the new materials. Each of the crew members who worked in our house were extremely courteous, respectful, and accommodating; and the new spaces are beautiful. Communication with our project manager throughout the entire project was also easy, consistent, and timely. If we look to make any changes to our house in the future, we will definitely call S & A Construction!
Jim Mulholland: Did not do right by this customer.S&A completed renovations on our home in May, 2017. While their work was not substandard, it certainly was not excellent. For example, finish work was not done well (walls left uneven, floor staining not consistent, very sloppy painting) but we paid in full & re-did some of these items on our own with other contractors. In June 2019 we were surprised to hear from the City of Raleigh Building Services that our renovations did not have final inspections completed. We called Ed, owner of S&A Construction, expecting him to take responsibility for completing this process (getting permits re-activated & scheduling final inspection) as the permit is based on his work in our home.Ed claims that having the final inspection was "not important, no big deal" and that if we were to sell and the buyer balked, he would then step in and get final inspection. Of course, this did not sit well with us, did not want to wait until we had an issue to take care of this. We pressed Ed to do the right thing. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed when he told us that this was now our responsibility - he stated "it's your house so you need to have this finalized". He went on to explain that he had paid for the final inspection (he sent us his receipt) but determined that was the end of his responsibility, even if the final inspections had not occurred. Thus, we ended up having to pay $250 for the re-permit / final inspection to put this matter to a proper close. We feel an ethical business owner would have completed the permit process to ensure that delivered as promised (and paid for).
RD Canfield: Major remodel on a 35 yr old home. Great crew, problem solving, & service! I definitely recommend these guys!
Sheryl Johnson: I just finished a kitchen and bath remodel. The entire process went well and the team was very professional, helpful, and in constant communication. They met ALL of my expectations and the final product is beautiful, materials are top quality, and professionally installed. Anything I asked to change or add was handled quickly and exactly as asked. I Would not hesitate to hire Ed, Kathleen, Shauna and construction team in the future!!
Darlene Watson: Update from last year: S & A completed master bath renovations last year, so I did not hesitate to contact them recently when I was ready to update my kitchen. Ed was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in helping us select everything from the kitchen cabinets to the tile, granite countertops and flooring. I can’t say enough about how wonderful his office staff is! The work crews were amazing! They showed up daily on time and cleaned up before leaving every evening. We absolutely love our new kitchen!S & A Construction remodeled my bathroom and they done an outstanding job. The workers were so knowledgeable and very professional. I just love my new bathroom. I'm planning to do more renovations to my home in the near future and I will definitely call them to do the job.
Patrick Fuller: S&A remodeled our kitchen and master bathroom and did a great job. It looks beautiful, and it went smoothly all the way through. The design process was exciting, and they listened to our feedback on what we wanted done. The crews were terrific - professional and cleaned/swept the rooms after they were done each day. Would definitely use them again. Have already recommended them to others.
tim mcclelland: Excellent service and quality. Everyone from owner, project manager and construction workers were awesome, kind and professional. Very patient in the design of my bathroom. Their care to ensure my satisfaction went beyond my expectations. Needless to say, my bathroom looks beautiful. Well worth the cost. My dollars were not wasted and I will use them again to remodel my other bathrooms and kitchen.I would recommend them if you are considering remodeling. Sheila and Tim McClelland
Carol A.: Our large remodel project (which included our kitchen, laundry room, 2 1/2 bathrooms, all the flooring on the entire first floor, fireplace and painting) was just completed and we couldn't be happier. Ed, Kathleen and Shauna were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. The workers on site were amazing...very professional, friendly and helpful.
Mona Butler: Run as fast as you can from this company! The owner is the most arrogant, narcissistic man who actually compared himself to a “chef who doesn’t like to be questioned” when it came to different aspects of our job, and if you do question him, he is verbally abusive to you. I wish I could say the quality of the job outweighed these aspects but it doesn’t. We had a full kitchen remodel, cabinets and tile flooring, and new carpeting laid throughout the house. Not only did Ed arbitrarily change the color of the carpet we ordered because what we wanted was on backorder and presumably he did not want to wait to finish and get paid, something we reluctantly agreed to after the fact, but the tile flooring was a disaster. Tiles became loose from the beginning, and while those few were fixed initially upon project completion, S&A continued to look to other causes for the problem as more and more tiles came up over time. In the end, Ed washed his hands of the problem, blaming it on inadequate supports under the house which, even though we fixed, had absolutely no bearing on the problem as even the Structural Engineer said tiles should not have been coming up in areas where they were because there was adequate support. Even the tile manufacturer told us that lack of support underneath the house would not cause those tiles to come up had they been installed correctly. We battled Ed for more than a year, as more and more tile contractors inspected the work he did in our home and said he did not use the proper setting materials and that is why the tiles were coming up, but S&A would not even take our calls. In the end, we had to replace our flooring just within the past couple months and, absolute truth, all but a handful of the tiles in our very large area that was tiled by S&A Construction (hallway, kitchen, eat-in area, bay, laundry room, bathroom, and closet) came up cleanly, in one piece, with extremely little to no setting material on the back. They looked nearly identical to new tile right out of the box. The only tiles that were somewhat broken in being pulled up by the new flooring crew were ones that had been cut and put in corner areas around the project. The other tiles came right up as they would not have had they been installed properly. As if this weren’t enough for you to find a different contractor, any other contractor, Ed was not properly licensed when he did our job, and likely all other jobs he did during that time as well, despite his lawyer telling us he was. If I could give no stars, I would.
Mike Stellpflug: Update (-1 star): after two years, had to basically redo floor tile/stone and grout because the hacks at S&A used dabs of construction adhesive in place of proper thinset, and didn't properly support the floor.Original: Turned out well, but process was very painful.Reactive project management causes many “emergencies”:About 10 requests for our time with less than 24h notice, e.g. "I'm stopping by in 30 minutes to go over the colors". Even if you were clear that you are working and can't go home, he calls again to tell you how he drove all the way and will wait for you to get home.Over-Budget:When I wrote the estimate, I didn't know our electricians would screw up so much (+$500). "Allowances" are great in theory, but then he just buys junk without asking and charges you $300 more than the same thing at Lowes, FROM Lowes (plus labor)!Manipulative:We selected tile in the office and AFTER starting demolition two weeks later, they told us that it had a 2 month back-order (or 4 month, depending on who you ask). We were pressured to use a totally unrelated substitute (on sale?), but eventually convinced him to use our second choice. Update: called to ask for this review to be taken down without justification. The crew is very friendly and efficient, but seem pressured to do hasty work (they often work late hours).Mess:Tire ruts in the lawn. Majority of a broken window still in grass (don't go barefoot here!). Many screws and razor blades in the driveway. Ridiculous dust throughout house and garage, even though work was confined to one bathroom, accessed by the newly stained bedroom carpet to the point that we spent $3k to replace it. On first day, Ed told his crew they were "stupid" for hanging plastic to block dust because it would slow them coming in and out.NOT a "custom builder" (adversarial about design):e.g. "don't worry, we can merge the fan ducts, it meets code" (luckily the HVAC guy new better). "The shower drain you like will never work". "Lights should always face down" (later commented how facing up looked "much better").Redo Redo RedoWhite paint all over stained door frames, door handles, door hinges, outlets, switches, floor, counter, etc. After complaining, 85% of the "oops" were scraped off. I sealed the tile myself because the “waterproof” grout absorbed water like a sponge.ScheduleThe bulk of the work was only a few weeks over schedule, but some of the finishing touches dragged on.Finished productIf you have time and experience to babysit, it should turn out nice.
Chris & Beth Hohmann: We could not be happier with S & A. Ed and his team delivered exactly what they promised and exactly what they quoted in remodeling our kitchen. From selecting the countertops, back splash and flooring to the actual construction, Ed was there every step of the way. Whenever we had a question, he or someone from the office got back to us right away. And we can’t say enough about his crew. The guys were in our house every day for a month (working Saturdays) and were polite, friendly and flawless in their work. If you’re considering a project for your home, I can’t recommend S & A highly enough. They made the process so easy for us, and the results were spectacular.
Gil Golden: I contracted with S&A Construction to build a detached 2 car garage with a gym, bathroom, and storage on the 2nd floor. This was a large undertaking and I knew that good communication would be essential. I found that Ed and his office staff, especially Lora, were always easy to get a hold of when needed and Ed reached out proactively and often during the construction process just to keep me apprised of the project status. They worked very willingly with me to make many custom modifications during the course of the project and they made excellent recommendations and offered guidance along the way. In the end, I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product and they have been extremely prompt in addressing anything that wasn't right, even long after the project was complete (ie, they stand by their work). In the interest of offering full disclosure, we did feel at times that the work crews and subcontractors didn't always take all the time they needed to plan things out fully before beginning work, and sometimes the work crews weren't as clean or careful with things as they could have been. This meant that sometimes the same thing needed to be done more than once to get it right. However, they never once put up a fuss when we needed them to come back to get something right and they always made good in the end.I am a very satisfied customer and every time I enter the space, I marvel at how fortunate are to have such a practical and lovely space. The builder's frequent and direct communications along the way, were exceptional and very much appreciated.

Raleigh Remodeling Company: what do users think?
Liz: Great company very professional and reliable! Thanks Dominick !
Pearl Ingram: I called and they said someone would call me back. I never received the call back and decided they probably were not interested in a bathroom tile repair job. I would try them again if I needed a larger remodel.
Mike Taylor: Great company thanks for the free estimate
sachin patel: We contacted Raleigh Remodeling Company to help us with a renovation project involving an unfinished storage space in our home. Dominick contacted me immediately after submitting an inquiry on the Raleigh Remodeling Company website and he was willing to work around our busy schedule to come by the house to check out the project space. Dominick answered all of my questions and presented a fair and reasonable quote for the project within a couple of days.Once we decided to move forward with our project, Dominick and his team were able to start on the project immediately. They did an excellent job on the project and made sure the work area was clean and neat. As each task was completed, Dominick would provide an update about the project and the upcoming schedule. The final product was exceptional and was complete ahead of time. I really hope we have the pleasure of working with Dominick and his team on future projects. We will definitely recommend Raleigh Remodeling Company to all our friends and family.Thank You,Sachin Patel
Richard Horvath: I hired Dominic several times to do some home improvement and also to build a new room in our office. I've always been happy with the end results and I would recommend him to friends, family members and coworkers as well. Don't hesitate to call him if you are looking for a new kitchen, bathroom, or home/office addition.

Tingen Remodeling, LLC: what do users think?
Eun Lee: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe had a major home renovation performed by Tingen remodeling and could not be happier with the result. We had a great experience working with Will and his team and highly recommend them! Really responsive, and they get the job done right!Services:Home renovations,Bathroom remodeling,Remodeling
Robert Clancy: The pandemic affected the schedule of our extensive home renovations with Tingen Remodeling, including delivery of appliances and employee safety. But the builder worked well to navigate these issues and performed excellent work. The costs were well tracked in person and online, and much more reasonable than quoted from another high profile contractor. Additions to initial remodeling plans were seamlessly incorporate at very fair costs. The remodeling staff and subs were very responsive and courteous, I intend to use them again with future projects and wholly recommend them in every respect. We love our new house and are extremely fortunate to have contracted with Tingen Remodeling in such an extraordinary timeServices:Tile work installation,Install flooring,Fan installation,Paint indoors,Refurbishment,Painting,Repair water fixtures,Exterior painting,Remodeling,Drywall installation,Plumbing fixture installation,Repair flooring,Drywall repair,Flooring
Elizabeth Helms: I emailed to get a quote, but they only service "Raleigh". No where did it say this on the website, and I only contacted because my local moms group posted about them. Businesses can limit however they want, but just heads up for people outside of Raleigh don't waste time reaching out.
Richard Barham: We enjoyed working with Will Tingen during our kitchen/living/dining remodel. He was so down to earth and Eddie, the designer, was also very knowledgeable and easy to schedule. Both were also very prompt in addressing any issue that arose. We would highly recommend Tingen Remodeling and would not hesitate to call on them again! Thanks again Will, Tyler and Eddie! Rick & Kim Barham, Garner, NC
Wes Johnson: We had a great experience with Tingen Remodeling on a full kitchen and master bath remodel, along with some flooring, painting, and custom shelving work. Will provided a detailed competitive estimate and followed through with a solid project. We stayed on schedule despite the occasional surprise that comes with remodeling a 1950s house. We highly recommed Tingen Remodeling and team and would use them again without hesitation.
Elizabeth Rush: Tingen remodeling just finished our project and we couldn't be more pleased with the process as well as the final results. We had our kitchen completely redesigned and other projects on our first floor updated. Will Tingen was great at communication and paid attention to detail. We would definitely use them again. Great people, great team.
Speed Williams: When asking around for recommendations for a builder to finish our attic, we had several people mention Will Tingen. From our first meeting, we knew we had found the right person. Will was always very prompt when communicating with us and he had a lot of creative suggestions, giving us the pros and cons of each so that we could choose. He was respectful of our time and minimized the disruption and general mess that comes with a project like this one. He works with a strong team of subcontractors who were very skilled, which is something I had overlooked in our previous home with another company. Will spent a lot of time on site, ensuring that every step was executed to our plan. I have no reservation recommending Will for your remodeling needs.
Jennifer Kush: Will and company were wonderful. He was prompt with all communication and made sure that our project stayed on track.
Beth Burnett: We had both our Master Bath and Kitchen remodeled with Tingen Remodeling. Will and his team were very professional and the results look amazing. The project took longer than I anticipated but Will made sure that everything was just right at the end. The project was also more costly that we originally thought but it turned out beautifully. Part of the extra expense was due to choosing more expensive appliances, etc. I would use Tingen again but I would make sure that the quote was completely reflective of the vision that I had for the space.
Brinton Hopkins: We called Will Tingen in Raleigh, NC to request a bid on a project to renovate our first floor master bathroom and half bath after we discovered extensive water damage from a leak under the shower. He got back to us immediately after our initial contact with him. He came to our home and inspected the damage and determined the scope of the project. He crawled under our home, took pictures of the water damage, and emailed them to us. He showed us the water damage to the two bathrooms and explained to us what needed to be done before he could start his work. He used Xactimate software to determine the price of construction and presented us with a detailed description of the work to be performed with an itemized listing of the costs involved. We chose Will and his company to do this work for us.In order to repair the leak, he had to replace the floor joist and subfloor under the shower, replace the leaky plumbing, and rebuild and enlarge the shower from the wall studs out. He performed any needed mold abatement under the house. He completely remodeled the shower, using the Cappuccino artea stone tiles and four rows of mosaic accent tiles that we had selected. He installed matching floor tiles in the master bathroom and replaced the water-damaged hardwood flooring in the half bath with the same tile. He continued to update the master bath by installing new fixtures in the master shower, installing an LED light in the shower, and rewiring the shower lighting to a new wall switch. He replaced the toilets in both bathrooms with new toilets containing no-clog, water saving features, installed new high efficiency ceiling exhaust fans in both bathrooms and finished off by painting both bathrooms. We were extremely satisfied with the outstanding quality of Will Tingen's workmanship and his high professional standards. He continued to communicate extensively with us throughout the course of the project in person, by phone, email, and text messages. He has meticulous attention to detail, and was very much "hands-on," performing a great deal of the work himself. He hired high quality subcontractors and thoroughly checked their work to see that it had been performed according to his specifications and standards.During his work on our project, Will showed great respect for our privacy and security as well as respect for our property. He always contacted us before he or any of his subcontractors came on our property. He protected our carpets and hardwood flooring by putting down plastic and cardboard and set up plastic doorways with zipper openings to control dust. At the end of the project, he brought in an outstanding cleaning crew to clean the two bathrooms and the master bedroom between them.Throughout the project, Will consulted with us frequently to make sure everything was being done according to our expectations. He answered all our questions in a timely manner and completely resolved any issues that arose to our satisfaction. After our master bathroom remodel project was completed, Will inspected the outside of our home for any additional repair needs. We then hired Will’s company to come back to work on the outside of our home to repair the water damage to some windows and outside doors, to power wash the house, remove roof stains, paint the trim, restain our two decks and steps, and paint the deck and step railings. We highly recommend Will Tingen of Tingen Remodeling with utmost confidence to deliver quality workmanship with high professional standards for your home restoration needs.
Amber Sagester: Will Tingen is honest, hardworking, and a genius! He helped solve quite a unique remodeling of our great room's window/door situation. He listens, offers great ideas grounded with his experience, and gets the job done...in a timely fashion! His prices are fair, and he provides you with his time and expertise. Will was on the job much of the time to oversee his subs, or at the very least kept in touch with me so that I would know what was going on if he wasn't on site during a project. Will has completed several projects in our home, and the work has been stellar, better than we ever expected. He is a great resource and well connected in the construction business. If he can't do it, he will know somebody who can!Highly recommend Tingen!

Wood Wise Design & Remodeling: what do users think?
Stephanie Hanke: We first reached out to Woodwise to get an idea of what we should expect from a renovation. Becky answered the phone and couldn’t have been more warm or kind. We had Becky and Hank come out to explain the design build process and again, we were comforted by their kindness. Going into a major renovation, knowing you’re in good hands is of utmost importance. We needed to feel that we could trust our home in their hands and my goodness did they deliver. We started the design process with Kathy and made our choices with her. She is top notch in her industry. If you aren’t working with an architect like Kathy, you’re missing out. She was always willing to answer our (many) questions and the responsiveness has been unmatched.Once things got rolling, I can’t express what a fun project this was. Did I just say “fun” when describing a renovation that takes out a kitchen, laundry area, and bathroom?! The crew who is doing the hard work every day is phenomenal and to be honest, I miss them! They got to know our children, they ALWAYS showed up with good attitudes, they always answered our questions, and listen - they cleaned up after every work day. Our kitchen was bare, our laundry room was taken down to the studs, and it was clear and clean every day.Overall, our project went better than we could have imagined. If there was something onsite that we wanted to tweak, or add (sorry Ben!), they were wonderful about making sure we were happy. After all, we are going to live here for many many years to come, and I believe they understand that and want us to be 100% satisfied as customers.I can confidently and wholeheartedly recommend Woodwise if you’re considering any work for your space. The process is intrusive but with Woodwise, we have felt completely comfortable and happy every step of the way.Service:Remodeling
Colleen Briggs: We loved our experience with Woodwise. The entire team was kind, considerate and extremely professional. They did a great job helping us navigate the design and execution process to create a beautiful end product. We can’t recommend them enough!
Kate Patterson: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ResponsivenessThis is a really great company to work with. They make the process as easy as it could be. Their communication was great, and Kathy's amazing design eye takes a lot of the stress out of decision making.Service:Remodeling
Kuntree The great: Very helpful I called for a job although they were fully staffed they we're very helpful and recommended a separate company for a job
Gail Birkby: The owner came to our home today and was very friendly and honest. He explained that his designers would need to make the plans and that we weren’t really a good fit for his company based on our designs and ideas we already had in mind. I’m guessing our budget didn’t meet the companies expectations as he also said he was “the most expensive” if our project was in the 100k area we might have made the cut do do business with them.
Cat Lineberry: Woodwise did major remodeling work for us in both our master bathroom and in our family room. We enjoyed working with their design team, project manager and all of their craftsmen. We were impressed with their attention to detail and their innovative ideas. The communication was excellent throughout the project. We are very pleased with the renovations and would recommend Woodwise to others as we feel confident in the quality of their work and the professionalism of their team.

Carolina Design & Construction: what do users think?
Lora Neel: Reuben at Carolina Design & Construction was great to work with and I am thrilled with the results of the renovation! They were able to restore the beauty of the historic building in Apex and convert it to a lovely retail space for ELK Local Foods. Even though it was a relatively small project, he stayed in constant communication, stayed on budget, and made sure the work met my needs. I will use Reuben and CDC for any future construction projects and would have no hesitation recommending them!Services:Demolition,Paint indoors,Exterior painting,Remodeling,Plumbing fixture installation,Drywall repair
Chase Riker: Reuben, Justin, and the whole team at CDC were nothing short of exceptional partners helping our team at Burrito Shak design and build our dream outfit for our Cary location. They were extremely professional, responsive, and an ideal partner to navigate the entire construction process from start to finish. My favorite part about them was that they saw our dream and invested themselves into the process to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and were able to live our dream. They took the time to get to know us and make excellent recommendations as well as working to create a life-time relationship with our team and our staff. They were never just our contractor, but instead a value-adding business partner who helped create our dream. We never once regretted choosing Reuben and CDC and we would do it every single time over again. We continue to use them and their team over at CDC environmental to help protect our dream from COVID and other virus with bi-weekly decontamination sprays and we plan to continue to use them for anything they can help us with. The ability to successfully interpret the permitted plans and maintaining solid relationships with municipal inspections staff are key ingredients in building a successful project and CDC has demonstrated both of these abilties. They have shown themselves to be both competent and experienced building professionals, able to tackle a wide range of projects and to do so on schedule and on budget.

Brick Mortar: We contracted CDC to renovate our Wedding Venue space. We have an historic brick building in downtown Clayton and wanted to add an interior balcony to expand our capacity as well as improve the look of the facility. Reuben Stecker of Carolina Design & Construction along with his amazing crew and independent contractors completed the project in time and exactly as we envisioned it!I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a commercial contractor.
