I talked to the manager of the store and she literally said..they had to pay for overhead and air-conditioning...after showing her my bank transaction on how much I paid for it and questioning the measly $6 offer. I WILL ENCOURAGE NO ONE TO SHOP From HERE OR SELL TO HERE. The staff is very non shalance as well. Anywho....thats my experience here and it looks like plenty of others 😔
    Unique Broughton: I had dropped off two bags of clothes, one pair of tennis shoes and one pair of sandals in good condition never been worn.When I went back to pick up my items the young lady at the front desk was very polite, as she handed me my cash in exchange for my items which were the tennis shoes and sandals that were both in good condition she hands me $7 dollars, I took the $7 that was handed to me at the time I thought just for the shoes and went to pick up my other items they didn’t want, I realized my sandals were not in the box on top of one of the two boxes I was taking back with me.I asked the young lady where were my sandals and she grabbed the black bin to show me they were in there with the shoes now she didn’t mention anything about the sandals being included with the $7 which I must say was not a reasonable exchange.I got my items handed over the $7 back and left the store.Why I’m i saying all this , because I need you all to pay attention to how many items you have in your bags before dropping them off and make sure they show your everything in the bin they are keeping and paying you for.Have an awesome day 😊Happy Friday

I have been multiple times with 50+ items (all in good condition, some new with tags, name brand - Free People, Zara, Urban, etc.) and they constantly take less than 5 of my items. When I ask why they take so little, they say my items are old or out of style. However, the items they do take from me are arguably the worst things I bring in. Do NOT go here. You have better luck selling online.
    Parker Anthony: this was the biggest waste of time. the employees lost my items and did not even put my name in the system! the manager did not have a clue what was going on and had me look for my own clothes because they were “somewhere over there.” i came in within 15 minutes of opening and was told that i could come back in 2 hours. i called 3 times after the 2 hours until i finally had enough. i came in and they did not know where my clothes were, did not have my name in the system and did not have a care in the world that they lost my clothes. after 15 minutes of looking myself i found my clothes and was told they didn’t want to take anything. they were awful about communicating when the clothes were done as well. i received no text message and each call was the same response, “20 more minutes.” this is the biggest waste of time and there was no room to even walk in the store. i WILL NEVER go here again.

    Omar Peraza: Horrible Plato store! This store use to be the best Platos in the entire area but has down due to the staff they choose and their practices. Took in a 60 Gallon tote full of clothes with the bottom half full of name branded clothes. Some of it brand new too. I dropped it off around 10:30ish and they told me it would be 45 mins to hour which was fine. I drove back to work which was ten mins and they sent me a text saying my items were ready. I turned back around and picked up my items. Not surprisingly they passed on al the items due to “ items not being newer clothes” then she recommended i go to clothes mentor. Mind you from the most recent reviews this has been on ongoing issue with this store. Tell me how the worker was able to check 60 plus items within 8 mins?? That tells me she didnt even look through it. I could tell because the clothes was in the tote just like k had left it. Its a shady practice and pretty sad tbh. They are hiring these lazy, stuck up younger kids who do not have the urge to work. I use to take clothes here all the time and the people would actually go through every piece or clothing and inspect it. Now they just look at top and say no. The girls already were going through another bag of clothes when i got there but magically got my items done in between? Mind you they will buy any expensive busted shoes from you for ten dollars and sell for $65.00 plus! Its disgusting that Platos is allowing their managers and employees run their store this way. I see why the pay for employees at this store is low. Low pay for Low end service and lazy workers. Management needs to be looked into as well being that she was there and doesnt address any issues. Please people stay away from these store. Go down the street to clothes mentor or uptown cheapstake. They will actually go through clothes. I had ralph, nike, new york and company, and other name branch stuff in the tub that i know they didnt check. Go to Brier Creek instead they do a better job at checking along with Cary .

I have gone six times I believe…not a single time that I have gone have they ever bought more than two items from me. I just cannot figure out what it is they actually buy. Today, for example, I brought in American Eagle jeans, NWT Anthropologie items, lots of men’s stuff (they always said they are really in need of men’s), Madewell tanks and jeans, On Cloud running shoes, Free People denim skirts, lots of pink and red items for V-Day coming up soon, brand new Vera Bradley purses, and plenty more. They did not want a SINGLE item of any of this. What really upsets me even more is that I realized a good portion of my items had NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT! They were still rolled nicely in the bottom of my bin the same way I had put them there, same order and everything.If I am going to take the time to gather and launder a lot of stuff, drive it there, wait two hours for it to be ready, they could AT LEAST look at everything before telling me they don’t want any of it. I will not ever be wasting my time again at this location
    Ellen Weiss: I love this Plato's. I've been a Plato's junkie for many years and have been to lots of them in several states. This is a good one. Plenty of good quality selection, and unless it's late after a busy Saturday, it's tidy and organized. I've probably been here 20 or 30 times over the years when I lived nearby, and still come back pretty much every time I come back to Raleigh!

    I've been shopping here for quite awhile. I love this store! There are many treasures to be found. Great selection of designer clothing, shoes & handbags. Reasonably priced and good sales. The owner is always kind & helpful. It's my favorite consignment shop in Raleigh, hands down

    Fantastic shop and proprietor. Went in to see if the store any prom dresses last spring, as a local High School was setting up a pop up prom shop, and was in need of donations. Was thrilled that the shop had quite a bit of inventory. Upon checking out, I shared with the owner why I was buying so many, I believe, especially after the being isolated during the pandemic, that seniors should be able to attend their prom and a cost of a dress should not be a prohibitive factor. She ask me to wait, and went into the back of the store, she returned with her arms filled with the most exquisite dresses, some were beautifully beaded, others had layers of tulle, all were of the most gorgeous colors. These were truly special dresses! And then . . . She donated them to the cause! When I brought all the dresses to school, the coordinator was so very excited, her eyes welled up. She knew that these dresses were going to make some young students very happy as they may not have otherwise been able to afford a dress to attend. I learned the pop-up shop was a great success. Everything donated, including those amazing dresses, were free for students. Paying it forward- everyone wins! Love shopping local, when we support our small community retailers, they support our community back. Great resale shop with an amazing owner!

Klara and her team are welcoming, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable about the luxury fashion market- which is evident by their product offering! It is clear that they pride themselves on delivering great customer service, as well as providing a clean and organized shopping experience. Such a unique and cool store, I could not recommend Adore enough.

    Phoenix Swedlund: I had a good experience at a previous visit, but the second time, I brought some things in to sell, and the salesperson said we had to schedule an appointment to do so, and they weren’t taking anything for 5 months. That’s totally fine, and we were bummed but stayed to shop. As we were shopping, a couple come in with some bags, and we heard the salesperson say they could make an exception and began to look through THEIR things to take them. We were dressed in casual clothes and the others were dressed casually, but still clearly displaying wealth. It was humiliating. It is hard to view this as anything but discriminating due to our appearance. We had high-end items, several higher than some items on the racks. Disappointed, embarrassed, and will not be returning or recommending.
    dawn dunlavey: Called and inquired if they accept formal wear. Was told “bring it in and we will look at it”. Drove over an hour to get there and was greeted with “do you have an appointment?”..first mention of this. Employee told me I could leave my item and the owner would “have look online to determine price”…Total waste of time.

The employee let me browse around peacefully, without hounding me for a purchase or help. The dressing rooms looked very inviting, actually the whole store was.     Stephanie Baur: By far one of my favorite thrift stores in the triangle area. Well lit, clean, and good prices. What I love most is that they hire adults with autism to work in the store. It gives them an opportunity to socialize with the community and share their fun personalities, plus earn an income. We need to help each other through these tough times and this store is such a positive influence on the people who work there. I encourage everyone to be patient with the autistic staff. They want to learn to make a living just like the rest of us, only it's harder for them. They are also super creative and sometimes use vintage ceramics and glassware to sell plants in. I always find more than I expect and leave feeling happy. Overall a great shopping experience!
