Bicycle Chain - Raleigh: what do users think?
David Mansfield: I always love this bike shop. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice to see inventory building back up.
David Peveto: Very professional and courteous establishment. Clean and well stocked bike shop. Got me in and out quick. Would highly recommend them
gary tardiff: I didn't have much confidence in sales person , I left and went to different place and the sales was knowledgeable and knew that he didn't have the right bike then I remembered that the bicycle chain had that size bike but the salesperson at the bicycle chain didn't suggest trying a different size, went back got the bike it was $50 more than at the otherplace and on top of that they charged me a $50 fee saying it was delivery when it was on their floor to me it sounds like more like a scam so the price was $127 after the retail price of the bike with hidden a fee I was really upset because I felt like I was being scammed
Alex Mercer: I purchased a gravel bike. When I walked in I had no idea what I truly needed but just wanted something I could ride on trails and also on the roads and mostly, greenways. I found the perfect bike! The team there didn’t hesitate to help me find the right bike in the right price range and teach me some techniques and safety information that was super valuable being new-ish to the area. Mostly though, new to biking. HERE I COME RALEIGH GREENWAYS!
Bobby Blackwolf: Very knowledge staff, help me get just what I was looking for at a great price!
Lisa Neal: We bought my nephew a new bike yesterday. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and put my nephew into a bike that fit him perfectly. He loves the bike and is looking forward to riding it back and forth to school and with his friends. So glad we went to them. It was so worth it to get him into just what he needed. The Bicycle Chain is definitely the way to go if you are looking for a new bicycle.
Jessica Cook: Incredible staff - Paul (mechanic) very knowledgeable and was able to help me pick out and install tires (on the spot!). He removed the toe cages on my pedals free of charge.Chase was so patient helping me pick out gear. He spent so much time talking with me and explained how to easily change a tube, then walked me out and lifted my bike into my car.No pressure to buy and I felt very comfortable despite not having much cycling experience.
Steve DePasquale: Stopped in today after mtb ride to check out the shop. I was in the market for a new helmet, glasses, and bike rack. Nothing sparked my interest. I asked the front desk how much are tune ups as it has been a while, he said a basic is $30, full is $120, and pro is $250. He said I could bring in my bike and they will give it a look and see what it needs. Nice guy in the back looked at my bike, tighten my handle bars, checked my shifter and derailers, and took it for a test ride. He said my “your bike is fine.” Ahh yeah I know. I pointed out (he did not notice) that my dropper post doesn’t fully come up on its own. They removed the seat and said “we don’t know how to fix it, but we can fix if you leave it here.” Hmmmm I’m pretty handy and can turn a wrench. “I’m sorry, I’ll take care of that myself.” I was charged $30 plus tax. Not sure exactly what I paid for. Note to self, only bring your bike into a bike shop when there is actually something wrong.
David Tuchler: We are not actually a direct customer but do wheelchair repairs as part of our mobility business. As wheelchair wheels are very much like bicycle wheels, we turn to Bicycle Chain for repairs that we just don't have expertise in. Our customers are in need of quick repairs since they rely on their wheelchairs. The folks at Bicycle Chain have been terrific in helping us fix wheelchair wheels and get our customers rolling again - - always quickly and at a good value.
Rachel: EDIT - scroll down through the reviews. My experience is one of multiple of this issue happening. This is a pattern that they have yet to fix over multiple years. Protect your time and money and go elsewhere. If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my mountain bike in for a routine tune-up and chain replacement. I had been riding out in western Carolina two days prior and it was working. When dropping the bike off, they tried to upsell me before I could finish explaining all maintenance needed. When I picked up the bike two days later after being charged $199, I found they didn’t even tighten the handle bar grip. I then took the bike out to ride in Crabtree and a quarter of a mile in, the chain dropped twice and skipped gears numerous times. Upon closer inspection, the chain was replaced but was not fitted to the bike. The bike is not in shape to ride. I then called to ask for a refund. They replied that I could bring the bike back in and they could look at it. However, between being constantly upsold during the drop-off/pickup process and their apparent lack of basic bike maintenance, I did not feel comfortable with that. There was no option for even a partial refund despite my bike being in worse shape than I left it. I cannot recommend this bike shop to anyone. They are out to make a quick buck and do not care about bikes or customers.
Matthew Reese: I really enjoyed my experience here. I got the bike of my dreams, some sweet gear and very good service to boot. They extended a sale for me beyond its end date to help me save some serious cash! I do not know if that is standard procedure so don't get your hopes up people HOWEVER I thought they were fantastic and I most certainly will return!
Terrence Ishmeal: Horrible customer service and elitist attitude from employees. No one was courteous or even spoke to my wife and I when we walked in. One rep came over after the fact while the others looked on as if we didn’t belong. Guess we didn’t have the “look” of their regular customer base. I wouldn’t spend a dime there and don’t recommend this place. Look elsewhere in the Triangle for bike needs and a good customer service experience.
Nate: All I can say is I’m extremely satisfied with their service. Knowledgeable, friendly, and inviting. Went out of their way to help me out. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to find their new bike!
Stephen Williams: I went to this bike store without any knowledge of clipless pedals or the shoes to a company them. Employees: Will and Chase guided me to make a solid purchase. Chase even installed my clipless pedals for me free of charge. And somehow managed to sneak in a discount. If you have any questions, need any repairs, or anything whatsoever regarding your bike. I can't recommend this shop enough.
Bryan B: The bearded guy behind the register was a total creep. I don’t know if he was stoned or on the spectrum. Either way the whole situation was awkward. I came in to buy one item and look around. He did help me find the item I was looking for right away, but I still wanted to look around the store some more before I checked out. I guess my wish to wander around the local bike shop was offensive to him. When I finally went to checkout, he sat down in front of the register and stared into space with his hand above the keyboard, typing nothing. Not think anything of it, I waited. Then after more than a couple minutes of this I asked if he was okay. I got nothing, he just sat there with his hands above the keyboard in an awkward daze, not acknowledging my presence. The whole situation was bizarre, so I walked out without buying anything.
Matt Gregory: Great bike shop. Great guys work here. Got lucky and caught the sale but these guys know bikes and are not there to pressure you into spending more than you want to. Great experience.
Rafael Vazquez: Worst experience, they cannot care less about their customers. I bought my mountain bike there and it failed on the first ride because of poor assembly. When I returned to the store they refuse to make a full inspection of the bicycle just reviewing the torque of the nut that came loose riding the bike.If you look for a place that care about their customers and care about the quality of the products they sell, I would recommend to go somewhere else.
Ashleigh: Pretty good experience as a newbie. They adjusted my seat and other things to ensure it was the right fit. Nothing over the top, but typical.
Will Mosier-Peterson: I had an issue after a long ride while in Raleigh on a trip and it was recommended by a fellow rider that I see if they could help. They were backed up but knowing that I was only in town for the week they got me in, replaced my chain, adjusted my brakes, and got me back on the road ready for my next ride.
Dave G: Service
Rafael Brandão: I've bought an expensive specialized bike online and it was delivered to bicycle chain. First time I needed service they basically said they couldn't help me at all before even checking what the problem was. If you are planning to use service post purchase, I recommend looking somewhere else.

Trek Bicycle Raleigh Holly Park: what do users think?
Chris G: I am very pleased with my new Trek dual sport, so much fun to ride. But what I am most impressed with is the friendly, excellent service I received at Trek Bicycle Raleigh Holly Park. It has been 21 years since I have ridden a bicycle. Matt spent a lot of time with me, explaining everything in easy-to-understand detail, covering everything from accessories to how to mount the bike and change gears....I had forgotten so much! And Cole was so helpful, quickly and expertly installing all of the accessories I purchased. I am so impressed with the service I received at Holly Park! Although it is almost a 2 hour drive from my home in Washington NC, I will definitely be a regular customer there.
Holly Sullenger: This store has super helpful staff and great products. If you enjoy biking, this is the store for you!
Shaun Martin: Great products, knowledgeable staff both on purchase and servicing optionsHighly recommended
Greg Morgan: Greg MorganProduct: My Trek mountain bike was my first performance end bike purchase, having settled for lower end bikes previously. After one year of riding on various trails and terrain, I am still amazed by the bike's performance and ease of use. I don't believe that I could have tackled some of the trails that I have with any of my previous bikes.Services: The staff at my local Trek store have been both attentive and informative across multiple visits. From my initial visit being able to test ride multiple models to tailoring my pick to fit my size and style, I have been grateful for the experience.
Corey Gomes: Shoutout to Matt and the team - they were great to work with.
Jay Chambers: Needed help with new cycle shoes and SPD cleat installment. Matt and his associate were extremely helpful and kind. Took their time with me... a first time customer. Did not charge me for their expertise. Will definitely return!
Tom O'Brien: I purchased two E-Bikes (Versa 3) a year ago and the Bikes are truly amazing. What really sets the Trek Bicycle Raleigh Holly Park store apart is the outstanding customer service and feeling of genuine helpfulness that you feel and receive from the first moment you walk in the shop. So here I am a year later and the excellent customer service and helpfulness is still alive and well. I received a recall notice from Trek corporate that various bike models may have an issue with the brakes and it should be addressed asap. I contacted the Holly Park store and was connected to the service manager, Joel. He was outstanding and very accommodating in so much that he arranged for my two bikes to picked up from home, confirmed my brakes were not impacted from the recall, he had a Level 1 service performed on the bikes and the bikes were delivered back into my home garage by 5pm the same day! I also want to give a shout out to Donovan the service tech who picked/delivered the bikes, he as very knowledgeable as well as quite personable. Selling/buying a bike is one thing, but it’s the after market support and outstanding customer support that really makes this Holly Park store and it’s staff stand out!. If you’re looking for any kind of bike upgrade/service/purchase do check these guys out and see what real friendly customer service is all about! 👍
Cameron: Let’s not forget that this place turned into a communist concentration camp during Covid! Appointments only, only allowed one group into the building at a time, treated all customers very poorly, asked you why you were here and wasn’t wanting to help customers. I went to REI and bought my bikes because they still treated customers decently.
Jon Velez: Great customer service from the reps here. They answered all our questions and got my wife setup with bike that she loves.
Jessica Rose: Great service technicians - I've been using these same guys for years and they always do a great job on my bikes :)
Jeremy Ellender: Knowledgeable and helpful staff. With every purchase, a sales associate will explain the product, installation, and address any questions. Great customer service!
ken nowell: Matt was very helpful in making my tire and shoe selections. He obviously is much more than a store employee but and avid rider than can speak knowledgeably about products sold in the store. 100% will return!
Ian Yeager: Awesome store, great people, super helpful, unrushed experience and made sure I was getting what I needed.
Brian: Always friendly and knowledgeable service in repair shop here, rare nowadays and much appreciated
Paul Crockett: Great selection and great staff. The employees have been helpful every time I've been here, and even though I had an issue once with being given an incorrect part, the manager went above and beyond to make things right.
Ramon Levine: Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They run some group rides from there. Just bought a bike for my wife from the store. She loves it.
Teresa Gore: Your people/staff are your best offerings. No matter which location I use, they seem to sincerely desire to help. They're engaging, attentive, and are just nice, friendly and easy to talk with people. Good job, TREK Bicycle, at having great teams all over the Triangle area. Special shout out to Lea, Veronica, Joel and Matt for going over and beyond to help our TIFL athletes prepare for their very first triathlon. ~Teresa C.
Patrick Marrow: Trek holly park treats me like a KING. Great people to deal with about bicycle issues.
Anthony Patrick Sibayan: Staff are very accommodating and easy to transact with..Bicycles and related products are of very good quality and reasonably priced..
Ed Karjala: I am new to the area and I walked in for the first time in and was greeted by friendly and helpful people. The shelves were stocked up nicely with what I needed and the service was top notch. Can't wait to visit again soon!
C L: Super friendly and helpful. Excellent service department

All-Star Bike Shops: what do users think?
Ben Keller: Jakub and Patrick were fantastic to work with while converting my MTB wheels to a tubeless setup. I very much appreciated the great communication and recommendations. Quick turnaround time too. They definitely earned a long term customer.
Jack Cottrill: Best bike shop in town. Got my bike in working order and helped me out with my son’s bike as well.
isaac miller: Aways cool, always willing to help. I'll be back
gary tardiff: Mike was awesome! Didn't have the bike on the floor but he did some research and got me a bike that was actually cheaper than the one he showed me which was the same model went out of his way to accommodate me , he was very knowledgeable . Ask for Mike Don't know his last name though
Brandon Drolet: Great experience, good deals, friendly staff, Connie helped me in finding a great bike for a great price.
Kirsten Wyatt McCann: I recently visited to pick up my husband’s bike after he had some work done on it. I picked it up because I was close by for a dentist appt but didn’t have my bike rack. The staff member who helped me was very friendly and offered to help get the bike into my car. He took off the front wheel and seat and gently fit it into my Camry. All of the staff members were very friendly, each greeting me when walking by. The new location is also very nice. It was a really great experience.
Pepe Rencurrell: This is where I bought my Sun Atlas Cargo Tricycle. They bend backwards to help their customers. They have a huge inventory of good quality bikes and accessories. Shop here, you will not regret it!!!
Chaney Rose: I wish I could give a better review to support a local shop, but have only had unhelpful experiences… Every time I call I am given information, then show up to the shop and am given the opposite/conflicting information. Felt like the staff assumed I knew nothing because I am a woman. Truly confusing & frustrating.
J Lawrence: Unhelpful, unfriendly, and not particularly business savvy. They seemed incredulous that I would ask about a tune up and informed me that none are available for an indefinite period of time. Perhaps it would be prudent to hire another staff member or charge a higher price for expedited service. I would have gladly considered that option. Pretty basic ideas.
Timothy McKenna: Mike, Brian, and Andrea are fantastic!
David Weiss: Decent shop, but pricey, not proactively helpful. Had to fix several (fairly basic- an axle) things myself that they claimed they couldn’t solve.
Ben Mayes: Get your store hours straight
Joshua Mcdowell: Staff is rude, condescending, and elitist. This place was great once upon a time, will spend my money elsewhere.
Theo H.: Even though I didnt end up using this shop for a repair they still filled my tire up and didnt charge me for it so they deserve an A+ in my book.
Andrew Jeffries: Dumb mgmt - they don’t have service staff on Sunday. Website doesn’t say that. Wasted my time driving here.
Terry Mark: Needed the back tire changed out and they were on top of it immediately. Only waited 20 minutes and very reasonable price. They also fixed the seat that had worked itself into a strange position. Thank you very much. We will come back again.
Courtney Fleming: Staff is unbelievably rude!
Michael Allen: Management has been sold out to big conglomerate, so anywhere is better than this place. Unhelpful!!
Nicholas Polinak: They act like they do not want your business here... go elsewhere.
James Prudhomme: The staff was rude.
Peter L: Very helpful employees, great service. Seemed like a good selection of bikes, too, even with the bicycle shortage we're seeing currently.

TLC For Bikes: what do users think?
Gragory Gomes: Knowledgeable, the go-to bike guy if you’re in wake county or surrounding counties
Bob Willix: There aren't very many cycling mechanics with the knowledge that Gary has. He's been in the industry a long time and is a wonderful resource for anyone from the experienced racer to the beginning enthusiast! 5 stars for sure.
Claudia Quilantan: Super nice & friendly Place
Ryan S: Brought my Cannondale into TLC because the front and rear brakes were squeaking quite a bit. Gary and team changed the front and rear pads as well as the rear rotor, assuring that should do the trick. When I picked up the bike in the shop, Gary tested out the brakes and we both heard the front still squeaking. I took it home to ride around a bit and test the brakes to find the front and rear were still squeaking, so I brought it back in to the shop to clean the pads and possibly replace the front rotor. After picking up the bike a second time they apologized they weren't able to get it right the first time and that hopefully it was fixed now. Fast forward --- I'm still waking up the whole neighborhood with my squeaky brakes as I ride.Would love to give 5 stars as the price seemed fairly reasonable (although labor was weirdly scratched out and increased for some reason) and they seemed to be interested in solving the problem; however, I can't keep bringing the bike back here only for it to not be fixed.
Anthony Glad: My wife and I recently moved into the area and have been visiting local bike shops to buy new bikes. Gary didn't have any in the price range we we're looking, but took the time to give advice on where to look and what we should be looking for. It was a great experience.
stephan smith: Owner is rude and unwelcoming…he obviously didn’t want to serve me because I am black. He wanted to let me know as soon as I walked in that he “wasn’t pushing a agenda”. Seriously? I was just looking for advice on bike parts. Get a life…everything isn’t about politics.
Steven Horvitz: I just finished working with Gary on the 3rd bike between my Wife and I. Once again Gary did an incredible job and my new bike is silky smooth. He spent the time with me to weigh all the options and despite all the supply issues built the bike in a few days and as always to perfection. I highly recommend TLC for Bikes!
June A: Rude. Guy was obviously bothered by my questions and not willing to help.will not be back.
Lior Molvin: I love this place. Great mechanics, great bike knowledge. Gary fixed my mountain bike and my road bike. He knows so much, and he's generally excited about getting me setup and on the road putting in miles. Inspirational place. Thanks TLC!
Leslie Newcomb: Great Service, very knowledgeable and super friendly!
Mike B: Great knowledge and service. Very customer service oriented
antonio ramon guillen vasquez: Excelente atencion
Haley Kuhns: The owner of this shop truly has a passion for what he does. I was lured in by the free workshops they offer every first Wednesday of the month. The workshop was incredibly helpful, we went over changing a flat tire, certain aspects about our bikes, etc. The owner began telling us a story about someone who brought a bike in a told him to just “keep it,” because the tune up cost more than the bike itself. I should’ve registered this as a red flag. If you’re willing to spend $110 on a basic tune up that most shops will charge $35 (shoutout Cycle Logic) then this is your place! As a student who has to worry about student loans, MCAT fees, medical school application fees I nearly had a panic attack when I picked up my road bike (which I got for a steal during quarantine for $300), and the tune up (basic lube of cables, check tires, adjust saddle) was $110. That’s over 1/3 of the cost of the actual bike. I felt extremely taken advantage of. I think the owner is a kind person but I don’t appreciate that kind of service. I wish them the best of luck, but will never be returning for any of their services. Be aware, and absolutely ask about cost of services up front. Lesson learned!
Diriki Lemay: Awesome service, I came here for some questions on a bike that I had just inherited and the service and advice was top notch highly recommend coming here and doing business.
Al Schoneman: As you may know, there’s a national bike shortage. I went to TLC for bikes and they sent me to BikesDirect if I didn’t want to wait several months. Bike is on order. They will set it up and accessorize it for me. Can’t wait. Kudos to Cameron!
Michael Reid: I went here about a year ago. They ended up doing several things to my bike— Replaced gear shifter and rewrapped my handlebars. Everyone was incredibly polite, but no one gave me a straight answer on the price until it was time to pay. Not even so much as an estimate. Even when I asked twice I got the same tired joke of “$1 million”. It was funny the first time, but when you’re trying to make sure you stay within budget a straight answer on pricing (or even a loose estimate) isn’t something to joke about. The quality of the work was okay for the most part, except my handlebar wrapping were already loose and sliding off within the first 3 months of having my bike back.
petr zavodnik: very good service👍🏻
Richard Lourie: Want to thank Gary for fixing my Dahon Boardwalk correctly, this is a great shop for all levels of riding. He has vintage bikes as well as the latest carbon fiber light weight exotic racing bikes. For beginners or the serious hammerhead, TLC has the skills to keep you rolling. Thanks Gary!
Sam Manooch: Gary is by far the most honest, experienced, and knowledgeable bike mechanic in Raleigh. He runs a great shop and really takes the time to listen to and assist his customers with their needs. He works with anyone regardless of budget. I won’t go anywhere else in Raleigh for advice, service, or repair. What an awesome bike shop!
Dixon Girl: Did not fix brakes. I did not ride this bicycle right away after picking it up but when did I was going on a slight down in the road and could not stop i had to squeeze the brake with a my might and it kept going so fast I thought I was going to be injured or worse cause it was a metal mailbox cluster ahead my daughter was very shaken. Cause she couldn't help me.. So this is why I gave this place 1 star. At first I gave this place 5 stars because the owner was nice and I didn't ride the bicycle right away. I wasn't going to post about this but it came up on my time line with 5 stars. I thought oh no I have to speak out about this. Really the bicycle brakes was better before I took it there. I have other bicycle needing work but not @this place of business.I have decided I'm learning to work on my own bicycle I'm so feed up with the BS and being taken advantage of.
Mark Sammartino: Gary was really knowledgeable and went above and beyond sizing a road bike for me. I told him I’m leaving Monday to head back to Florida but my sister was going to be seeing me for Christmas so their was no rushGary had my bike ready in 24 hours and I’m taking it home tomorrow. I have never bought a bike from a person who was so knowledgeable and passionate about their profession.I highly recommend TLC for Bikes for anyone.

Trek Bicycle North Raleigh: what do users think?
Commodity Management: These guys are super nice and they’re open on Sundays!
Justin Long: I bought an Ebike online late last year. But most of the bike shops in the area refuse to assist with any type of repairs. I was having to drive 30+ mins out of town to another shop. I asked around to be referred to a local bike mechanic in Raleigh that could fix my brakes. I was introduced to Nate in the service center. Nate looked at my bike on the spot with me and diagnosed the issue while I was standing there. It’s clear that Nate is a professional mechanic, and it shows with his demeanor and ability to communicate the process and specifications to you. Nate got my bike fixed in 2 days. Super nice folks at the store, I’ll be coming in this store from now on. Highly recommend!
Arvie Lacson: Friendly staff.
Miranda Marino: Wonderful customer service! Highly recommend! Love my new Trek!
Norma Sellers: Awesome Staff. I'm new to biking and they made me feel comfortable and not stupid asking my questions. They assembled my bike and it looks and rides great.
James Mackintosh: I like being able to come in and just get basic repairs done without an appointment or having to drop off. Yall have done a few tires for me, Installed pedals, adjusted handlebars, and helped keep my old bike running good. As an (automotive) mechanic I appreciate being able to bring my bike somewhere and have stuff taken care of. Friendly staff, clean store just very helpful and convenient.
Jennifer Bramlett: Best store ever!! My sales person Ken was excellent and extremely friendly. From start to finish 100% perfection. I highly recommend going to this store what an experience 👍😃
Von Brown: Friendly attitudes and customer service and knowledgeable about products!
David Olson: Always excellent service and friendly staff! Highly recommend :)
Michael Schwarz: I’ve been a dedicated Trek customer since their beginning (I have a collection of vintage Trek road racing bicycles I regularly ride). I recently built a gravel bike and the Trek store had all the parts I needed in stock. It’s always a pleasure going to a store where the employees are as fanatical about bicycling as I am!
Michael McFadden: Nate and the service team are great! Always do a great job and are very knowledgable about bikes!
Janis Braslins: Excellent sales and service team. Our family owns not only Trek bikes, but also other brands. Bring all of them there for service.
Eric Libow: Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Leah Sansone: Trek North Raleigh has friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have tried their products first hand. I always trust their advice. Their service department is the BEST!❤️
John Kagan: Excellent bikes and service at Trek North Raleigh.
Jim Harry: Call anyone, anytime. I dare you to find anyone in this store who will not treat you like you have million bucks to spend. Their only goal is to “listen” to your story and help you figure out how best to accomplish it for you and alongside of you. Truly my new favorite bike home!
Steve Cedoz: My Verve 3 is a great touring bike for around town and greenway trails. The Team at Trek-North Raleigh was friendly, very helpful, and informative. Thank you for a great experience and a great bike!
Edward Macey: Great products and expert service!
lamont cooper: Great quality, staff and prices…!
Peggy Joyner: Everyone was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable!
Hunter Morgan: Professional and reliable. Very welcoming and quick to share knowledge and tips. From the novice to the experienced rider, this store can provide everything needed to get and stay out riding.I’ll be going to this location from now on. Really top notch experience. Down to earth folks.

Oak City Cycling: what do users think?
Jacopo Montobbio: Probably the best shop in the triangle. Went in for service on 2 bikes, from out of town, and they fixed both bikes in less than 2 hours. They have great inventory and the staff is crazy friendly and professional. Good stuff and good vibes in there! Cheers OCC
Barry Wood: Found a great bike at a great price!
Kevin Webb: Super helpful and well stocked, I feel so lucky to have them as my neighborhood bike shop!
Antonio Febres: Chris was extremely helpful. Great service experience
Albert Kugel: Love this place. I don’t even live in Raleigh but always take my bike here. Very trustworthy and they have the best selection of bikes, bags, and parts. They also have beer on tap! I only wish they were able to be open in the mornings and on Sundays. Hard to get there with their current operating hours.
Hailey C.: If you’re a new to town cyclist, you need to come here. The staff members are so friendly and knowledgeable. I have always been happy with the service for my bike - the team is fast and thorough! The shop hosts fun group rides for different speeds/vibes, and I always feel comfortable with the group. The team will be happy to share information about good routes in the area or talk about your needs for your bike.
Jackie A: Fast and friendly service! Convenient location helps, too. Tim is awesome!
Ramon Levine: We went on a group ride from the shop. They have different activities that are held from there. If you're into cycling it definitely is a place worth checking out.
Nathan Mlot: I've had some awful experiences at a number of bike shops in the area due to snobby snooty bike people who think they are better than you just because they know more about bikes and ride more than you. This is NOT the case at Oak City Cycling though! The employees are all well informed and obviously passionate about cycling, but they are kind and patient no matter the kind of question. They obviously understand what customer service is all about, and even though everyone has bad days, I've never caught them on one of theirs! This is always my first stop if I'm going to shop locally. I appreciate their commitment to the community and the events they put on. They are full of knowledge about bikes and the best spots in the area, so be sure to pick their brain if they aren't busy. Thank you for not being snobby snooty bike people!
Matthew Smith: Probably the best bike shop in this plane of existence. Service is excellent and priced far below expectations. Good selection of gear and bikes, but mainly, these are people who just want you to ride bikes. They don't care if you want to ride occasionally on a weekend around your neighborhood or start training for the Tour de France, they just want to help you enjoy riding. What more can you ask for? Need a quick adjustment and don't have a tool for it? Drop in...they'll let you borrow a stand and a tool and fix it up and be on your way. Need bigger service but can't afford to give the bike up for more than a day because it's your daily commuter? No problem: they'll work with you and make sure you get what you need when and how you need it. This is the only place I go anymore, and I can't believe I wasted two years dealing with other shops before trying Oak City.
Carm Mc (Cam): So, I signed up for a basic Maintenance class with John and Eamon. Let me just say they are my new bike buddies. Super knowledgeable and friendly. They did a great job of teaching us to take care of our chains and how to fix a flat. Super patient with me as I struggled to get my wheel back on and found a problem with my brake that was causing the problem. Quick to help me fix and also noticed my seat needed to be adjusted. They Rock. Oh, did I mention the class was free? Did I mention they were really patient? They let us ask as many questions as we needed.
Antonio Super: Great place for repairs. Friendly service, Went in with a flat, fixed on the spot and out in minutes.
Josip Vukina: Awesome local bike shop. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend
jason jones: I absolutely love itWarranty repair scheduled
Robin Mehera: Oak city cycling is a nice bike shop on person street. They have all types of bike parts and accessories. They also offer some free bike maintenance classes which is awesome. They had some beer on tap which is a cool touch for a bike shop.If you need bike parts or repair work done, go here.
Ryan Short: Great shop. Helpful people. Good stock.
Mark Vincent: Awesome spot for your cycling needs; they have a great selection bikes, clothing parts and accessories plus an incredible team to help guide you to the process. Straight forward pricing on labor and parts, with a stress free quote with quick turnaround. Give them a shout or stop by.
Eric Terlizzi: I had the best experience this week at OCC! I just needed a front derailleur adjustment and thought I'd put them on my route on my way home (via bike). A very nice gentleman named Aimen (sp?) came out from behind the counter and said he could give it a quick look. After about 5 min, he had that thing dialed!! It has never shifted better up front. I enjoyed a cold ginger ale and then I was on my way. I couldn't be happier and I will most definitely be back, especially since I can incorporate it into my ride home! Nice work, OCC!
Yama Ahmadi: Not consistent, denied service and didn’t want to fix a bike
Frank Snyder: The best shop in and out of Raleigh. Whether your interest is road, gravel, Greenway or MTB, these guys have you covered. Smooth and efficient and always willing to give advice on the simple and the complete solutions. Great shop run by great people!
Christopher Ryan: I needed a new driver installed in my mtb wheel that required a special tool. The shop did not have the tool on hand, but they ordered it just for my job. They really seem concerned about helping out their customers and providing great service. Bonus points for super friendly staff and great prices. If you need a DT Swiss "ratchet upgrade" installed, Oak City has you covered.

Bicycle Chain - Cary/Apex: what do users think?
Logan Logan: Popped in unscheduled and was able to get my tire valve replaced and a little extra TLC for the tire. I'm ready to hit the trails! Thanks, Aaron. Top notch!
Bob Stafford: Steve was a wealth of knowledge as well as personable!!
Brian Leone: We've come here several times over the years, to buy my son a bike, my wife, and today one for me. These guys are pros and clearly have a love for the sport. They took so much time and attention today and each time I've been in to make sure that we get exactly what we want.I can't recommend this location enough!
Shannon Bolin: Can not say enough about how amazing Andrea was! I called her with a bike trailer issue and she was extremely helpful and had my bike fixed in 10 minutes. Will be using and recommending them in the future!
James Polka: Steve and the team was fantastic. Thanks again.
Anar Gurbanov: Instead of changing brake pads they suggest to me to change entire break system for $375
Christopher Scott: AMAZING SERVICE! They know bikes!!! I trust them with every bike we own!
Darrell Breeden: Found an EBike we wanted, tested it and purchased it. When putting it on the rack to leave, we noticed a huge chunk of paint was chipped off the rear below the seat. I went in to ask about it and apparently they knew it was there because the Specialized dealer had brought it up. So they knew about it, but didn't bother mentioning it and were happy to let me pay full price for the bike. They offered me some credit, and covered it with some lacquer but the unease is still there. I'd be careful. Felt like a used car tactic after leaving
Christina Meckstroth: My go-to and my favorite bike shop! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. They remember me each time I go in and have always completed my bike repairs efficiently and appropriately. They don’t try to up-sell me or try to sell me things I don’t need. 10/10, definitely recommend
Jake Gibson: Condescending, rude, unhelpful. These are the only words that come to mind when thinking of the Bicycle Chain.I've had 3 experiences here, and they are all terrible. I charted the first one up to a "fluke" incident, but it is evident after my last two that I am wrong.I called asking about a chain and got short, unfriendly responses. I reluctantly ordered the chain as this is a convenient location for me. I ordered in the morning (11am), and had a family member pick it up for me around 17:00 (5PM). They didn't have the order ready somehow, and didn't even know I had ordered. What's the point of ordering online if it's faster for me to get it myself?I then called the next day asking about service. I only wanted to get the chain put on, no adjustments, no tune-ups, nothing else. Looking at Youtube, putting on a new chain is a quick & easy process. I would have done it myself but I do not have the tools required to do so. I called and asked if I could get my bike back the same day. I stated I would drop it off when they opened, and it wouldn't matter if I picked it up right before they closed. I just wanted to know a time-frame for the bike. The answer I was met with was "I don't know." What a helpful answer! It seemed like they would rather not install the chain I just bought from them, and instead work on tune-ups as that reels in more money. The final experience I had was when I went looking for a helmet. The guy helping me had the personality of a saltine. He showed no emotion, didn't help, and answered every question with a one-word response. They made me feel like an idiot for not being a bicycling helmet expert. My final point is their prices. I am a huge fan of supporting local business over large chains. Having a great local shop is awesome, but their prices are a big rip-off. $140 for a tune-up? Holy shoot. For that price I can buy all of the tools and a stand myself. My family members have had similar experiences over the years. I will not bring my business here, and will recommend people NOT to go here.Save your time and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
jason whitehurst: Very helpful and patient with sizing a bike for my son. This was the 4th bike we've bought from them and will be where we go to get the next!
PJ Enter-: Solid shop with friendly folks who do good work. It's the best option for cyclists in Holly Springs and Apex as this shop comes through on their promises.
danielle barry-gass: Went in to purchase a bike for my son. He had already picked it out online, so I pretty much knew what I was looking for going in. Happy they had the bike and it was ready to go. Service was ok but not anything special- a lot of one word answers to questions and no pleasantness. I didn't really feel very welcome or that my business appreciated.
Sushant Patil: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Christopher Svec: I bought 2 new bikes and a trunk rack here. Mike and Jonah were very helpful. The bikes were setup well when we picked them up, and Jonah was happy to make a few adjustments to tweak one bike a bit as well. He also helped me figure out how to use the trunk rack.I will happily go back for any other bike needs.
Allen Scott: Needed same day repair, brought it over here, Steve got me in and out at a VERY REASONABLE Price. Will return!
Michele Harris: What a Great Place. Fast, Friendly Service and Reasonably Priced. Rare in this Fast Paced World.
David Ingham: I went here several years ago to look for a bike for my wife's birthday and I was ignored. Not because they were busy - just ignored. I left and bought a bike elsewhere. At the time I wrote this off to a fluke bad experience and did not review. Now, I visited again looking to buy a bike for myself. Once again ignored. They even helped other people that came in after us and never even came to help us out despite saying they would. I don't know what it could be, but somehow they decided we did not deserve any attention. So, we spent our money elsewhere. Never will I visit them again.
Andrew Jabbour: I walked into this place last week hoping to buy 2 beach cruisers for myself and my fiancee. They asked me to wear a mask which I don't carry around since Apex doesn't have a mask mandate, as well as most other places in the state, so I kindly told them I didn't have one and left. They just lost another $1K - $1.5K sale due to this outdated rule that hasn't been required in Apex for a while. Pretty sure this is the only private business in the county requiring this and losing thousands of dollars in the process.
Chris Mayes: They had the bike I wanted, I went in for a short test spin, and came out 20-30 minutes later with my newest bike. It gravels well!! Thanks.
Greg D: I used to buy bikes, parts and service here. Now they have a mask wearing mandate. I’m buying bike gear elsewhere.
