Sullivan's Steakhouse: what do users think?
Kelly Hines: We love this place! It is perfect for a special occasion! My filet was so tender and cooked perfectly! The brussel sprouts and au gratin potatoes were perfect sides to enhance our steaks! We will go back again! 💗Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jeremy “Japarican” Cummins: Honestly. This was the most disappointing trip to any steakhouse I've ever been to. I ordered a Medium Porterhouse and it came out well done the first time still mooing at me the second time barely even seared and it was barely a decent medium by the time it came out for the 3rd time. Our Lobster Mac and Cheese looked like it was microwaved and put under a heat lamp for the entirety of the rest of the food being prepared. Didnt even get to try the asparagus that I ordered because they gave it to the wrong person. All the food looked good, but the flavor and textures were just off. The Beef Wellington Bites were good and the, what i think, was the Spicy Shrimp Eggrolls we got were good. But took basically 45 minutes to even get our food, so i waited well over an hour for my finally edible steak. Needless to say 9/10 we will NOT be back. Oh and it took another like 30 minutes for us to even get our checks after asking. What should have been a 1.5 hour dinner took us almost 3 hours and it was not fun.
GG R: UNDERWHELMEDI'm questioning ALL the 5 star reviews and what people find exceptional about this particular location. Sullivans in Chicago is much more upscale w impeccable service. This location was a huge let down not only from a service level you'd expect at a place like this but also in the food presentation. Our waitress was nice, friendly and accommodating but def not the level of service I would anticipate or expect from a restaurant of this caliber. For context: We came here for a GNO celebrating 2 bdays, group of 4. First and foremost I’d say the 1st 10 mins after being seated and how you are treated is going to determine how great or not so great your service will be. 1st, after what seemed like a good 30 mins our waitress finally came to the table. WE had to ask for the wine list. This should be given at the time you are seated esp since you have to wait forever just to place your order. I’d say it took a good hour just to get a drink, we ordered WINE?! After a good 2.5 hours or more of waiting, we finally got our food. While the food was delicious the presentation was dismal and off putting. Not even appetizing to look at, at all. The “Happy Birthday” cheesecake plate was beautiful and a nice surprise; however, I got it to go bcuz my meal came w a dessert. The way they boxed it go was again a complete fail. Took our waitress after several discussions and going back and forth to get our bills correct. That was at least a good 20-30 min issue that I couldn’t understand. Overall while a few things were ok, I will def not be coming back to this location. IMO they need to drastically level up their service and presentation. You can tell there is absolutely NO pride here in the kitchen or from a service level at all.
Keri Warner: My first experience at Sullivan's. We had heard the hype about how good the food was, and since my daughter is a steak lover, we decided that this would be perfect place for her 16th birthday dinner. We hired a limo and went all out. My first mistake was not realizing that even on a Sunday evening the bar next door would have their music pumping so loud that we literally could not have a conversation at our table. On top of the obnoxiously loud thumping noises, our service was terrible. Having been in the service industry for many years myself, I know what is hard and what is not hard work. This was a Sunday evening and this place was by no means busy but our server was apparently having issues and could not attend to our table as necessary. I hate to dis such a well spoken of establishment, but I can honestly say I won't go back and I will not recommend this place to anyone. There are far better places to enjoy my time and money at.

AngB: I've been to Sullivan's many times and it was amazing but we recently met some friends there and unfortunately, it was not good across the whole table. Steak returned 2xs because it was not cooked properly, side dish was extremely salty, salmon thin, cold, dry and tiny portion. Even the second time they brought it out, same problem and had tail portion again. I thought that was odd. Do they only have tail pieces of salmon? The lamb was tiny portions and dried out. We all were totally stunned as we had such good meals prior. For the price I paid, I expected way mote. Not the Sullivan's I know anymore!
Joshua Nelson: We are not a rich family, so going to Sullivans was supposed to be an extremely nice treat for two of my kid's birthdays. It did not go how we had hoped. My wife, kids and I dined in for dinner and sat down around 4:45pm. There was only one other table (two people) in the entire large dining room when we arrived. It took 2 hours from the time we arrived, until my children received their dessert and we were able to leave. What could possibly take that long with almost no other customers? Our entrées arrived in stages, instead of all at once. The waiter was professional, but there was a couple of inconsistencies. He claimed our children's meals did not come with drinks, but said he would give them some for free. He also stated their meals did not come with dessert, but since we were celebrating a birthday he would get them some dessert on the house as well. When I double checked the kid's menu, it stated that all kid's meals come with a drink and ice cream. So we were being given something for free that was suppossed to be part of their meal? My wife ordered the dry aged, bone-in ribeye. She ordered medium rare and the middle was cooked correctly, but the outer ring was closer to well done. Side note: I understand it is called the "Long Bone" Ribeye, but it was advertised as 28oz and when it arrived, the bone was so big it accounted for maybe half the advertised weight. That is a $95 steak! (Again, very rare dining experience for us) My sea scallops were barely warm on arrival and had to be sent back. The lobster in the mashed potatoes was VERY overcooked. All things considered, we did not get anywhere close to the $269 price tag we paid. This was an unfortunate experience.

Russell Janzen: For many years, Sullivan's has been my family's destination to commemorate special occasions — we celebrated a milestone birthday there just last week. The excellent GM Kayla and staff took care to ensure we had yet another tasty and memorable experience. Thanks to the entire team!

The Peddler Steak House: what do users think?
Gus Rutledge: Like others in their reviews—— our meal was good but the service was terrible. We were the 4th table to be seated & after waiting 1 hour, we had to approach another waitress ( ours had never checked on us since we were seated) to ask about our food. It came about 5 minutes later & when I asked the waitress why the delay, she said when you order your steaks well done ( med rare & med well) it takes longer to cook. I’ve worked in food services myself & know that orders get lost but you don’t come out & blame the customer for what they ordered. For $35 a steak the service should be better. I will not be returning nor recommending this place!

John Horwitz: My brother & his wife came to visit and took us to Peddler Steak House in Raleigh, it was the first time for all of us. Slightly off the beaten path, and at the back of a crowded parking lot is a sedate looking restaurant entrance. We were told the wait would be about an hour but they had a well stocked bar that made time pass quickly. Meeting new faces over wine made the wait go quite quickly. The hostess and servers were friendly and attentive, our order was taken quickly and all of us partook of a well stocked salad bar. One NY Strip and three Rib-Eyes came perfectly done and our asparagus was crunchy and perfectly seasonedNY style Cheese Cake, Creme Brulee and Hot Fudge Chocolate Lava Cake finished our excellent meal. Two of us are quite adept in the kitchen and able to spot excellence or even the hint of any dish being just the slightest bit off - our meals were satisfyingly exquisite. We will come again and recommend Peddler without hesitation. But don't take my word for it - see for yourself!

John Bekas Jr: The Peddler recently received numerous accolades. Because of the high praise, I picked it to celebrate my birthday dinner. The steak, the primary reason we visited, was enjoyable. The rest of the food left us disappointed. My filet was cooked correctly at medium rare, but it was salty and had a slight lighter fluid smell. My asparagus was inedible due to the overwhelming gas or lighter fluid smell. My partner's beef kebab was ordered medium, but it ranged from rare to medium. Asparagus was as described above. Both kebab and asparagus were overly salty. The wait time, ~35 minutes, on a Friday night at 8:30p, was as expected. The dining area fits 40-50 patrons. The bar holds about 20-25, but it is rather cozy.

Leslie S: I got the ribeye, onion rings, and french onion soup. I was not impressed, especially given the price point. The food was luke warm, even the soup. It comes with a salad bar included. That was nice, and the plates are chilled, which was really nice. I must mention the "mood lighting". It was very dark, an atmosphere perfect for a romamtic dinner if thats what you are looking for. Service was good.
Retired 2019: Recently I went to this restaurant for the 1st time. My ribeye steak was tasty and the salad bar was awesome. I thought the atmosphere would be romantic but it was louder than expected. Good place for family and friends.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

WolfBenz: The food and service were very good. My steak was undercooked which was disappointing, but it was on me for not saying anything. But everything else was great for everyone in our group. I particularly appreciate that the salad bar and side are included in the price, which makes it a more reasonably priced entree than most other steakhouses. The key lime pie presentation is different but excellent. Highly recommend.
R. Alex Pérez (Alex Pérez): Went to this place for dinner while was visiting Raleigh. Food and prices are good, I like that the chef cooks literally in front of you. Elizabeth Scott: Atmosphere is fun - dark with candle light, great for a romantic dinner. Plenty of parking. Salad bar was delicious - fresh & a small but nice selection. Waitress did a great job for our large party. I had the Rib Eye with Baked Potato (no veg as I had the salad bar). I had to take off one star as they were out of Prime Rib, which several folks had wanted. Def have the chocolate lava cake for dessert. It's more than enough to share. I recommend & would go back.

Ruth's Chris Steak House: what do users think?
com dev: The place itself and the service are good but they have very inconvenient, unnecessary, and not open minded dress code for hats. Way to make customers feel unwelcome.Response: We'd love to come back, but not as long as the dress code is enforced.
Bretton Little: Service here is phenomenal because they treat you with so much respect. The filet is juicy, tender, and is probably the best steak in the country. The creamed spinach and Caesar salad are delicious as well. First class restaurant and has New Orleans roots with the founder!
Leigh Thrives: Ashley deserves 5 stars. She was attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. I met the manager who is a true asset to the restaurant.Food was mediocre and not worth my 70 mile drive. (Although the salad and avocado dressing was good, overall my entire meal was not up to par and only worth 3 stars in my book. The bread wasn’t hot nor presentable. It was sparsely placed in the basket. I complained and they brought a different basket of bread (see pic). The bread was not worth me cheating on my gluten - free diet. The salmon was cooked well and it was just ok. The crab cake was average. The creamed spinach was watery and not creamy. The lobster on the lobster Mac was severely over cooked (see pic) and not worth $35.00. I ate the food because I was famished. The valet gentleman was lovely, I tipped him well even though I parked on the street and didn’t need to valet. I will not return. I was totally unaware that Charlotte has “The Palm”, which I prefer. I had many dinners at the original “Palm” in NYC on 2nd Avenue. The restaurant closed last year, although two locations remain open in NYC. They consistently delivered amazing meals. Ruth Chris is franchised and inconsistent.
Vincent Rubbe: Great food and service from our server Tre
Chris Strube: Will not be back. Exceptionally overpriced.Save your money.
Katie Andrews: My husband and I came here last year (at the time of originally posting) to celebrate being newly married. Our server was wonderful - she was patient with us as we took our time deciding what we wanted and she made sure we had a delightful experience. Most of the food was incredibly delicious. However I got horrible food poisoning from my creamed spinach. I know that was where I got the food poisoning because my husband and I had eaten exactly the same things at every meal with the exception of that one side item at this meal. When I called the restaurant the first time to report the food poisoning, the manager I spoke to was uncaring and kept saying nobody else had gotten sick. So I sent in an email about my experience and concerns. A different manager called me back. He was much more considerate than the other manager, apologized for the negative experience, and listened to my concerns which I greatly appreciated.
EveryJaee: Visited for my birthday and boy oh boy was I surprised(not sure why) at how AMAZINGLY PERFECTED THE CHICKEN WAS!!!! I am literally obsessed with how tender and flavorful everything was.Fine dining is something everyone should experience!
Louise Miller: It was great, yes I will go back,Dine in: Yes …More
Wade Perrigo: Excellent food and drink menu.. not a great tequila selection (no anejo or reposado of any kind). Service was great but it was nearly 250$ for two with 1 appetizer split, 2 main courses, and 3 or 4 mixed drinks and a bottle of wine. Seemed a bit pricey... likely I would say it was worth 150 to 175. I'd go to Winston's any day.
Becky Martinez: Loved it! Worth every penny! Food was cooked as we wanted it, staff super friendly. Acknowledged birthday celebration, woohoo even though reservations were made through OpenTable. Our waiter Scott, made sure we felt as we were part of the Ruth Chris's family. We were informed that the Raleigh location would be closed for 2yrs for renovation and the closest location would be Cary.
Eamonn Shanahan: I have been going to Ruth's Chris on Lassiter Mill since they opened. I usually order a New York Strip, and I specify that it is a center cut. We went for NYE and I had a Filet, my wife had a NY Strip. I asked that it be a center cut. It wasn't, but my wife didn't speak up until after. Overall I was disappointed. We felt rushed. The USDA prime designation is good...but going with end cuts is cheating. Plain and simple. I am a trained butcher and I know the games that stores and restaurants play with putting lipstick on a pig. If I eat at Ruth's Chris again..I'll have a burger. If I want a steak, there are better steak houses.
Tom McSweeney: Excellent, as always! The meal was well paced, cooked to perfection, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Melba Battle: Good food and service; seated immediately.
Felisha Gainey: Dine in: Yes Takeout: Yes Curbside pickup: YesMore
Mr Freeze: Had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary. I'm not a steak lover at all, so if I go to a steakhouse, I have hard to meet expectations. Well, my expectations were met! The seasoning of my Cowboy T-Bone was AMAZING, and my wife had the Filet Mignon, which also was cooked perfectly. The Brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had, the garlic mashed potatoes were not overpowering and were perfect (I'm not a fan of garlic mash potatoes normally). The broccoli was perfect as well. Food is served piping hot as well. 5 stars all the way around. This chain had me going in with high expectations and we were pleasantly surprised that our expectations were not only met, they were exceeded. We will be visiting again.
Scott Mayes: Best Steak In The Triangle......hands down. And the Martini's are excellent 👍!
John Hoefling: Service was great, friendly and attentive. The steak was ok, nothing to rave about. When you dine in an establishment like this your expectations are for it to be amazing, best steak you’ve ever had. This was not the case. Only my second time eating at Ruth’s Chris and will not be back. Way too many other places to have a better meal at half the cost. Not worth the hype.
Lovely Bones (Shawn): Great service... food on point
Tonya Manning: This is my husband's favorite place we go every year for his birthday the food is always delicious and the service is always friendly and courteous this year he ordered the 40oz porterhouse and ate the entire thing by himself 😁Great place to dine wonderful atmosphere and they have complementary valet parking which is always a plus.
Hank Bialek: Fantastic dining experience. The staff at this location is amazing. One of the best dining experiences in the last 10 years.
S M: GREAT SERVICE AND FOOD

Darrian Nelson: I came here for brunch. I ordered the baked French toast, my wife got the salmon Benedict, and my son got the kids macaroni and cheese meal. The baked French toast was the smallest dish i ever had. My kid’s Mac and cheese bowl alone had more food than i had. The salmon was extremely over-cooked and dry. The kid’s Mac and cheese seemed good, and it came with a bowl of fruit as well as tater tots. My wife had to order a completely different dish in order to be able to eat here since the salmon dish she had was so bad. We had to ask for a refill for our drinks. They weren’t terribly busy, but the service was mediocre at best. This was an overall terrible experience. I would not recommend.

Marc Getter: Last night we went to the Outback near us. We have gone there in the past for dinner where I usually ordered a Ribeye which has been a good steak the times I’ve had it. When we went last night the food and the experience was much less stellar than we have had in the past. The food was barely mediocre at best. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich. For this sandwich at Outback, I would have expected juicy medium to medium rare slices of prime rib. What I got was dry over cooked scraps. For $17, I expected much better. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich that was also dry and lacking flavor, also around $17.I don’t see us going to this Outback again anytime soon.

Will Mason: Went to Outback a few weeks ago and honestly had a positively abnormal experience. Was greeted at the door and immediately felt like I was being treated to a great dining experience before even sitting down. They then capitalized on this with a wonderful service transaction between me and my Waitress, whose name I think was Sydney. She was attentive, responsive to my questions, and involved in the entire process of our dining experience making sure to maximize our food satisfaction. Overall you should attend this Outback if you get the chance and especially ask for Sydney, it’s been too long, I’ll be back soon!

Panther MS: Food was great as always. Waitress seemed perplexed on my choice of sides. She really didn't give us time to get started eating our food and asked if we wanted boxes. I asked for a refill on my drink and she had someone else bring it out. Water dripped from the ceiling onto my guest and all over the floor. We told said waitress and she was like oh ok.
Courtney Mulveney: We have been going to Outback for a long time but our most recent trip to this location was SO on point. Huge shout-out to our server Ben for never letting our drinks run low and providing an excellent and personal experience. Thanks for the tip on using extra bloom sauce on a burger!Food was all super delicious and hot too. A solid location for outback!
Heather Hayes: Went to the Outback for a family birthday dinner. Sad to say we were shocked at how bad the food, bartender service & drinks were. We had to send food & drinks back multiple times. After trying the drink the first time and letting our server know it taste nothing like what was requested from their menu. The bartender came to our table aggressively and loudly asking what was wrong with the drink. The steaks were cooked medium well, but were very tough. The mash potatoes had a strong, bitter vinegar taste to them. The Shrimp and lobster tail were rubbery. Again we were shocked the experience was this bad especially with the amount we paid for it. We unfortunately will not visit again.
Ryan Willoughby: Food was just okay. Out of stuff to make a new drink .Service was poor waiter disappeared after taking our order , someone else brought our food out .he didn't check to make sure the food was ok or anythingFood: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

Wayne Kingston: Steak wasnt cooked to my expectations after waiting an hour to receive our meal. I got prime rib and my son got a rib eye. More than half of my sons steak was fat. I asked for medium well. Their prime rib used to be thick cuts and are slimming down these days. Out back used to be my go to place. Texas roadhouse is that place now. This is my 3rd time I have been disappointed by Outback. I recommend not going here at all. Bar service might be good.

Don Brinkley: My wife and I had dinner last night to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience. Our server, Valentina, was very friendly and on-the-ball at all times. They first brought out the complimentary starter deviled eggs, which we found delicious and unique. We began with an order of the okra which is only in-season at this time of year. The portion was huge, so plan to share; the picture below shows an almost half-eaten portion. Being from NC, I consider myself an okra aficionado, and this is the best I have ever eaten. Then we shared the Beefsteak Tomato special, which was very fresh, unique, and wonderful. I had the Delmonico steak -- prepared and seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of crust on the surface of the steak. Since it was my Birthday, they offered me a complimentary dessert, and I chose their Blueberry Crostini. Chef Tom Armstrong came out to chat with us, answered all my wife's questions about how he makes the okra, and he shared how he visits the Farmers Market to pick out the vegetables personally. He came back out after they delivered the Crostini to see how I liked it. We had a fantastic time. This is a very special place for special occasions.
C C: Went here with some friends for dinner. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The waitress was really good. The atmosphere and decor is so so. Wife is gluten free and they were pretty knowledgeable on that aspect. Had spinach dip and calamari for apps, both were delicious. I had the filet and lobster tail which was very good, steak and lobster tail were cooked perfectly. Wife had the Salmon which was overcooked as well as her risotto. The bill was pretty high, we had a couple of cocktails and it was north of 300.00. Between the overcooked meal and the atmosphere, it brought the rating down to 3 stars.

John Hetsko: Vinny's has become our go to spot in Raleigh. Food is amazing, wine list is excellent, and we have always received great service. My wife and I went last night for our wedding anniversary and had another great experience.Parking: Large shared lot, free parking. It wasn't crowded.
Allie Thurkill (Sock Thief): Rented out the private dining room for a big celebration and it was lovely. Our food was fabulous (I had the ahi tuna and everybody else raved about their food as well), and for dessert we got HONEYSUCKLE ICE CREAM YOU GUYS. It was definitely one of the best things I've ever eaten. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive, and management checked in on us also. They are pricey but it is absolutely worth it.
Erik Minges: The food was good, but the prices were insanely high. I ordered 3 old fashions with Basil Hayden's and each was $45. I was expecting $30 max, but the surprise of $150 for 3 drinks was crazy. I've never been charged so much for a drink that wasn't on the hundreds of dollars a bottle range and I've been to many Michelin star restaurants with cheaper drinks. The service and atmosphere were very nice. The price is my biggest contention point.I will say, their deserts we're AMAZING and we're only $10. Big highlight was the lemoncello cheesecake. So good!

Bianca Bunn: Service was great. Food was disappointing. Very expensive meal yet food was super average and even sub par. Prime rib looked gray and unappealing. Was not tasty.
Tunisia Patel: Loved our waitress Valentina! She was SO SWEET with great customer service. If we hadn't waited almost and hour for our food this would be 5 Stars. No other complaints...we were just hungry! Lol.Salmon, potatoes (all), creamed Spinach and Chicken Parm was excellent! The atmosphere was a business corporate feel on a Friday night so I may have been dressed too sparklie. Husband and I had a good date night though. Really good food.
brenna holt: Date night and we hadn't been here in the 20 years we've lived in the area. Escargot appetizer was fine. I had the filet, broccoli and gouda au gratin - all excellent. Husband had the Delmonico steak, with mushrooms and twice baked potato. The Delmonico was thin and just not good, and the twice baked potatoes bland. I wanted a mojito but they were out of mint, so went with Wild Honeysuckle from the craft cocktail menu. It was fine. Our service was lovely, friendly, and only as attentive as needed to ensure we had everything we wanted. There was a rather loud conversation, about their weekend adventures, between some other wait staff at the service station. There’s a sign at the front that asks you to turn off your phones for all guests’ peaceful dining, and one would think that extends also to the staff. The dining room is dated and worn (felt like a Shoney’s), and the bathrooms are unfortunate. At this pricetag, a cleaner, more updated environment is requisite. In a nutshell, while there were a couple of really good dishes and our server was excellent, there is better food and atmosphere at too many other restaurants in the area for us to spend here again.
Judy Covarrubias: Excellent service! Nice ambiance. My husband had the filet which was good, not the best. For the price it should melt in one’s mouth. This did not. I had the Chicken Marsala, a favorite dish of mine. It was not good. I could not taste the Marsala, and gravy, not a lovely light sauce. Chicken hard to cut and hard to chew. Dessert was crème brûlée, very good. Our server ask if it was my birthday. I said yes. She said, please save space for a delightful dessert, we would like to treat you. We were charged for it. So sorry, but please fix the Marsala or take it off the menu.
Vivian Smith: North Raleigh's best! Better than Angus or Capitol Grill. Food is wonderful and service is friendly and accommodating.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and non-dairy friendly!
Julie Miller: we have been going to vinnies for 23 odd yrs. it seems you now have to reserve a spot in the bar. No longer first come area. We were there at 430 on Sat. We were able to sit at a 2 top table in bar not reserved yet. Mind you we were only ones in bar at the time we arrived. I saw at least 2 couples turned away because no reservations and the bar not avail due to all the “reserved” signs. There was a table in dining that wanted to continue their stay in the bar but No because of “reserved” signs. What a waist. I think this should be on website that reservations required for dining AND bar so people will know. We showed up early just to hopefully be assured a seat AT THE bar itself. If in fact bar seat would have been full and the only avail seat was at the two top, then different But the fact is only 2 couples had shown up for reserved seats at the bar by the time we left at 6 15ish. We COULD have had a seat at the bar as the seats reserved had not even shown up yet. No one had shown for the 2 other tables in bar marked reserved either. I believe money was lost and reputation damaged by not being fair and available to customers that have been coming thinking maybe they would be able to snag a spot at/in bar and enjoy Vinnies . VERY VERY disappointed and with this being said, this was our last night as it is NOT the same as we have enjoyed for so many years. Food still great (miss some staples that used to be on menu though)
Christopher Farnham: Poor service, server had attitude. Slow, slow. Manager and Chef visited our table they both had same attitude as server. We will never visit this restaurant again. Great food but absolutely the worst service we have ever had anywhere!Parking: Poor lack of spaces or valet
David Johnson: Amazing experience to be sure. Great tavern atmosphere with top notch service and food.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
