Aqua-Tots Swim Schools Raleigh: what do users think?
Christa Walker: This place is amazing!!! 10000% worth the money. So well thought out and kid friendly. Very pleased.
Catherine Mitchell: We love Aqua-Tots! We appreciate the flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for make-up classes. We use the phone APP and love it. The teachers are really nice and helpful. Our daughter has learned so much and is developing safe pool habits as well as learning to swim. She does not have a fear of the water for which we are happy. We like to see her progression in class as well as in the APP. The programing is geared towards children with a "play" component to learning. We sing songs and play with toys in the pool which makes learning to swim more like a game than a lesson. The facility is always super clean which is appreciated and impressive given the number of kids and families that cycle through there throughout the day.
Thad Wall: Terrible! Much better and cheaper lesson available from the city! Incredibly inconsistent instruction and poor methodology! Makes me angry to have spent any money here! Complete waste of time! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
Betsy Ford: Wonderful water safety and swim program!
Jerry Oliver: Certainly every child is different, this is just my experience. We brought our kids in for assessment. Our oldest has some reactive issues, so it wasn't a surprise, but it was worse than what I expected. The 2 year old was completely terrified. We took them to REX the next time and both the kids were traumatized of the water, it took a couple session just for them not to freak out just getting in the water. For swimming lessons, it's like a fast food place. They're just getting kids in the water and going through the motions that generally work, but they didn't pay any special attention to how each child reacts. (I just don't understand the high schooler who thought dunking a 2 year old under water was a good idea...the other 2 year old in that assessment class freaked out too.)Again, that was my experience, yours might be better, I hope so, but it was particularly traumatic for my kids.
Amanda Flores: We love Aqua-Tots! My kids have gained skills in and respect for swimming. Great exercise and lessons, and they have great instructors!
Nina Nalle Robinson: My daughter has received lessons at AquaTots since an infant. She is in kindergarten now. The respect that she has learned for water, the many swim skills and the fun that she has shared with instructors and classmates alike have been invaluable. Highly recommend!
Alex B: The instructors all seem to enjoy what they do and not just do it for the money. Only thing I would change is if you aren't paying monthly even though you paid the annual fee, you can't book make up classes onlineYou have to call or text to see when the classes are available. Not always easy especially when they are busy.
Mengyuan Farley: It’s a NIGHTMARE to cancel the subscription! My husband has made god knows how many calls to cancel since August and we’re still being charged after 5 months! We were told multiple times that we’ve been removed!
Nina Ragot: We love the small classes and how quickly our child progresses! Coach Alexandra is highly recommended. She is attentive and patient and really helps to guide our child to learning new swim skills!
Hawkeye: I love this place. The instructors are invaluable. Let me tell you what I love: 1. They know my children’s names 2. My children look forward to seeing their instructors 3. I see results from the classes 4. The front desk staff is pleasant to interact with. They have the best attitudes. They are SO so so informative and always willing to assist. Guess what lol, they love my children too. 5. They are not afraid to correct the children when they’re in the wrong. The sessions are short and they have to obtain and maintain their attention. 6. Professional and results driven
Kris T.: My daughter love this place. Her coach is wonderful! Highly recommended!
Silgian Zeledon: I wouldn’t waste my money here. They would always cancel my son’s class even the makeup classes so when I did had time to take him they didn’t have classes available. Also they said they’d take pictures of him when he passed a level…. Nothing plus I didn’t see any improvement idk if it was because the training was ok or because our classes were canceled all the time.
John Krahnert: Very frustrating experience for us. My 5-year-old son has been taking classes regularly for the last ~3 years, with a 6-month hiatus when COVID hit. He still has not moved up a level even though he is much more confident in the water. We keep getting told that his technique isn’t good enough and we need to work on things at home. While we try to, what’s the point of paying for lessons? Seems to be an indictment of the quality of instruction. He’s there every week - why can’t they correct the “issues?” We’ve escalated the problem to management and have gotten the run-around. My wife sent a lengthy email that received no response. She spoke with an assistant manager who said she would follow up. She didn’t. When my wife asked for an update a couple of weeks later, the same person questioned if my wife actually spoke to her. His chart wasn’t updated in six months. Yet they say he’s “not close” to moving up even though he’s doing cannonballs into the pool with no floaties now. He’s very demoralized and keeps asking why he can’t move up to the next level. Like others, we’ve also been frustrated with class turnover, random cancellations, and an endless loop of make-up classes. We will be looking for private 1:1 instruction going forward.
Richard Shuping: It's fun, my son loves the lessons, they have a high turnover rate but that happens everywhere and the core instructors ore really good
Mary Cornetti: The last several months at Aqua tots on Six Forks Rd have been incredibly frustrating for me and my children. There is a high rate of employee turn over. Employees are not completing assessments on swim students, therefore students are not progressing through the levels of instruction. It is impossible to schedule make up classes due to the scheduling policy (only 1 week in advance) and the unavailablilty of open classes and if you manage to schedule a make up class there are no notes on your childs abilities so the instructor has no idea what they need to work on our what the child is able to do. I have asked both in person, over the phone and via email for the GM "Jessica" to contact me to try to find a solution and I have yet to hear from her or any other person in a management position.I am currently owed 20 makeup classes between my two children. Aqua tots is not contacting me or providing any communication to try to work with us to fix the problem. I would RUN the other direction and avoid Aqua tots at all costs.
Marsha M. Edwards: Excellent!
Zaida Liwag: My son went from being very fearful of the swimming pool to excited and happy to go to his swimming lessons within a month! I'm very thankful for the awesome staff of instructors.
Anna Bailey: Today marks the second time we showed up for a semi private class to be told it is cancelled. (I was thankful the instructor did not show up sick because she cares about the wellbeing of our kids). Realizing it was to no fault of the person at the front desk, I asked to speak with a supervisor/manager.I was told that no one was there. When asked to get a member of management on the phone, the person at the front desk was unable to. Meanwhile other people are arriving for lessons to be told the same unfortunate news as me. When asked about sending out a text blast to supplement her calling, the lady at the front desk advised us she is not able to text or email people, she can only call(she was there alone). I have been with Aquat Tots over 18 months. I am disappointed with the lowered threshold of customer service and leadership from management. What does it say about Aqua Tots to NOT have a contingency plan in place for callouts and emergencies that can be successfully activated? (Appointing makeup days that cannot be redeemed is not the answer) The employee behind the front desk could have taught the class being that she is an instructor, but she could not because she was there Alone with no inclination that management was on the way. For the sake of the Brand, something must be changed. I fail to see how Aqua Tots cares and understands how this negatively affects the children not just physically, but Psychologically. My four year old was devastated for the third week in a row she could NOT swim. I felt helpless as she responded "aww I will never get to swim".(every parent knows that the conversation/frustration did not end there with a toddler) I have make up sessions that are of no value because the facility is unable to offer anything despite us asking for months(there are unanswered emails to support this statement). As of now, Aqua Tots is taking my money for them to show me and my child that we are of NO value to them. Presently I discourage people from enrolling here until they can show that they are able to consistently offer a service that they charge for. Hopefully I change my review in the future.
Marquel Melissa: The dressing room area and sitting area is decent but the women's bathroom smells like sewage daily. We have been very frustrated with Aqua tots. Their high staff turnover has lead to inconsistent feedback and training. Since Coach Rose left we have bounced around from coach to coach. As a result each time we are assigned a new coach the coach has to re-learn our child and his skills. Which is a waste of our time, as we are consistent and class is only 30mins. The coaches used to have a card for each student and would check off skills for each. Now it seems like there is ONE (1) card that they check off for the entire class. Which doesn’t make sense. They have added a skills chart that you can review online but honesty the coaches need to review this before teaching the kids as it seems they don’t know each child’s skill. The chart is just a tick mark (star), no comments, no nothing. I don’t know how the next coach will know how close my child is to mastering the next skill with just a check mark, no details.Additionally, they have cancelled on us and provided make up days. However, it’s impossible to redeem. Save yourself a headache and find another school.
Shailesh Shiralkar: Absolutely friendly and understanding staff. Easy to reschedule make up classes. And personalized attention to each kid, is what makes Aqua-Tots Raleigh the best.

British Swim School Raleigh Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness Center: what do users think?
Colleen Spinato: British Swim School has been a great experience so far. They’re patient and positive with my 3 year old daughter, incorporating age appropriate songs and teaching styles so she has fun and learns water safety.
Sumana Ramayanam: I highly recommend British Swim School. My daughter is very happy with the teachers and loves attending their swim lessons! Nice programs and very well organized too.
William Slocum: Excellent instructors with very well-defined criteria for advancement to the next level. I would recommend BSS to any of my friends looking for quality swim instruction for their kids!
Chiquitta Phillips: The British Swim team are great. Everyone is so nice and caring. They really work with my daughter and helps build her confidence in the water. She was very scared of jumping in on her last session and Jessie was so patient with her. Kaylee also does an awesome job with her as well. I love that they communicate and give me ways of helping her at home. They’re awesome!!
Dan Brosz: We were very satisfied with the program and instructor. Our daughter loved the class and was always excited to go there. Their approach to learning how to swim is very smart being survival first. We wish there was a British Swim School in our new town.
Cate Foy: Excellent, patient teachers. Very safe and well paced. Pool at Health Trax is not always reliable.
Derek Tarrant: We went to Aqua Tots and had what seemed to be a traumatic experience as they really forced our kid to go underwater. It scarred him for some time. He has been to BSS 3 times and we already see great progress. The team is amazing, very hands on, and really seem to have a better approach to water safety and confidence.

Goldfish Swim School - Wake Forest: what do users think?
Derrick Newton: Goldfish is a very good place for children who are trying to learn how to swim and build up some confidence in the water.
Corie Bangle: I love how organized the entire process is at Goldfish swim school. From registration, to class start/end. The teachers are great and my kids have had the best experience here. I feel like my kids are progressing very fast because of the great teachers. We will continue to be a goldfish family and recommend it to any family who want their kids to learn to swim.
Rachel Murphy: My daughter has been taking swim lessons for almost 2 years here and she loves it and has learned so much! She can swim better than I've ever been able to.
karen smith: My daughter has been going here for quite some time and she and I love it. Her instructor, Talia, is an excellent teacher and her and my daughter get along very well!! She is patient with my daughter and knows exactly how to handle her. Very pleased with this business and their staff!! 😁
WrightBusiness: Amazing service! Leila was great throughout the whole time and made my kid feel very comfortable, her outstanding personality andperformance made it easy on me and my child and I absolutely recommend it! We always look forward to the next class knowing we have such a great teacher waiting.
Cora Oliver: Really enjoy the atmosphere my children enjoy the instructors and our family swim time.
Stephanie Avent: The patience of the instructors is phenomenal
Jade Dudley: My 2-year-old daughter started swim lessons about a year ago and she loves it at Goldfish! When first starting out, she used to cry, but almost a year later I have seen so much improvement in her swimming and enjoyment. Now she cries when she has to get out of the water! Chelsea and Jad, thank you for having so much patience and helping her learn an important life skill.
Kristin Sykes: Hannah has been amazing with my son! We have been with three different swim teachers and she is the first person to get him to put his face in water! Thank you for your patience Hannah and tough love when needed. Highly recommend.
Frankie Marie Pucci: My son loves gold fish and we do too! Everyone is so nice and helpful. The facility is so clean also.
drjbattle: We have been going to goldfish for years and our Austin is now a fish. He is our waterboy. We love this school.
Sheryl Ayeni: The Wake Forest Goldfish is like a family. I had concerns about the time my daughter got in the water during the group lessons, so I changed her to privates lessons. She went from being afraid to put her face in the water to doing the backstroke….beginner level but she is SWIMMING!!!!
Monica Hempenius: We’re new members of Goldfish Swim and my 5 month old loves it! Our instructor is super friendly, as well as all of the other staff that I’ve encountered. The facility is kept clean, and I love that the pool is heated!
Christine Sherwood: They are extremely accommodating and their swim instructors make it a very positive experience for our children!
Portia Phillips: I have had a great experience at Goldfish. The instructors are friendly and my children have come a long way.
Nimz J: Friendly & helpful staff & flexible timing for the classes. Comfortable environment for the kids.
Christine Stein: We have been at goldfish for four years with two kids and love it! We've experienced all of the classes from the baby class to swim force (the swim team). Both my kids look forward to swimming every week and they love their teachers. It's very well run and the app makes it easy to put in planned absences and schedule makeups. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Luis Carlos Gutierrez: I love this place. My son has been attending for 1year and half and now he feel SO SO comfortable in the swimming pool
Stefanie Jeffreys: My son has been apart of this program for 3 years and even has his birthday party here! The staff is so friendly and nice. Any changes are communicated effectively. My son has learned so much and I’m beyond grateful to the team of men and women who teach him every week.
Dragan Jagnjic: We have been bringing our son to Goldfish Swim School Wake Forest for almost two years now. At 1st we felt that the School was just running the program ad instructors were not fully involved in kids development. We were to switch to a different school and Goldfish was super easy to cancel our contract. The things didn't work out with the other place and we gave Goldfish the 2nd chance. And we were nicely surprised that our initial feeling was so wrong. It was easy to re-sign up and pick the date/time that works for you. Our questions, either in person, phone or email were always answered in a timely manner. Our son has progressed quickly thru different levels (pro 2). The instruction is very good and testers ensure that a swimmer performs the necessary skills to advance. Makes are easy to rebook, and easy to cancel a class if needed. Our son looks forward to the weekly and sometimes twice a week session. He has improved a lot at Goldfish.
Lindsey Powell: Our girls have been going for 2 years now. They now swim better than I do and it gives me peace of mind in the summer months at the pool. The girls love it. I appreciate how flexible they are. You can always make up lessons even when you’re giving them short notice that you’ll be absent. It’s a pretty well-oiled machine and we’ve enjoyed all of their instructors!

Triangle Swim School Raleigh: North Location: what do users think?
Merlinda Toledo: This is a fantastic school. The instructors are really great at what they're do. My grandson has progressed so well. Thank you for all yo do.
Amanda: My nephew has been going to TSS for almost a year now and the progress he's made has been amazing!! Coach Naomi is incredibly patient and understanding.
Carly Harris: We are so grateful to Naomi! We enrolled our 10yo son after he developed a fear of drowning and lost all his previously learned swim skills. Naomi is incredibly patient and encouraging, she’s really helped him feel safe and capable. He loves going now and is thriving with her as a coach. We are thrilled to see his skills and confidence improve each class!
Jocelyn T: We love our Saturday swim coach Ms Naomi! Our child has always had a dislike for water on his face and had started to develop a fear of water though he'd never had a bad experience with it. Over the months we've been going to Triangle Swim School North Raleigh, he has developed a newfound confidence and joy. Watching him learn to trust Naomi and get more comfortable in the water has brought me such happiness as a mom. Naomi is so patient with him, she understands how to work with kids and clearly is a very knowledgeable instructor. He went from saying he hated water to now saying that he looks forward to class. We're so grateful for our time there and feel our investment here has truly shown a difference. Thank you for the positive experience and joyous memories of a happy kid!
Miss workingitout: I love having Parker as a trainer on Tuesday. She is so patient with my son and he is quite rambunctious, but she does so well with him and I LOVE IT!
Ashley Harris: My son swims with Coach Parker on Tuesday’s and has been coming for about 2 months now. I already see such a difference in his confidence and swim skills. Definitely a great school and he loves his coach!
Katelyn Baker: We love Triangle Swim School! Our son is currently in the parent and me class and the instructors Olivia and Naomi have always been extremely caring, patient, friendly, understanding and knowledgeable. They truly enjoy their students and what they do, it certainly shows in the way they teach. We unfortunately had to switch class times due to schedule constraints on our end (we will miss Olivia and Naomi) and the staff was very accommodating with this switch.
Sweet T Team: Our 4 and 6-year-old kids love all the coaches at TSS. The viewing area, staff, and lessons are top notch :)
Sophia Betancourt: I work here and i love it!! Coach emily is amazing. She teaches babies and other ages and i see nothing but smiles :))
Chevil Galarza: There is always a first time for everything and here is my first. This could have been the best experience for my kids but it wasn’t they were very mistreated by their coach Emily (constantly yelled and defeating them as they didn’t progress at her rate) and myself felt discriminated because of my accent(she indicated I have an accent that prevented communicating with me). I felt from the started something was off when you can’t really communicate with someone by phone (they will text or promise call back, the second option take a beg effort) and then when unexpectedly I was contacted about a switch in coaches without even starting. The front lady at Plantation Dr was okay and tried to help with the little amount of resources she had. But the coach in yellow zone Emily was horrible as described above. Can’t believe the kids learned more from the sub. Finally, we ended out of this school due to unsolved differences, lack of communication and an unilateral decision of a promised call that was never made as communication was 0. Hopefully, we have a better well rounded experience somewhere else.As a response to the message of the owner. I want to say that this is my experience and not a determination of others experiences. I didn’t witnessed what happened, but also know that I am not sure what other families you are talking about. At some point in the lessons we were just alone, no others and previous families dropped from the lesson. We have never has an issue like this happened before, and I am glad that the unpleasant experience was not because of the kids who shouldn’t suffer for others mistakes and mishandling of the conflict. You stand by your business, and I will stand for my family who at the end of the day I need to take care of. I don’t think that advocacy for your children should be considered a threat. As you might not know how many times the coach you are defending much has to apologize after each lesson for poor treatment of my kids because she was frustrated on how to give the lessons at least to one of them because of fear of putting the head in the water. No one ever called to talk about what happened with the involved people, didn’t respond to message or emails sent and responded to this review as this that might impact your business. As you looked yourself in the mirror as recommended by you and not in a judgmental way because I never met you, plan for staffing and enjoyable experience, think about how communication skills and conflict management can improve moving forward as these is an overall reflection of you. I am glad to know that there was nothing against the kids but a misunderstanding between the adults involved, sorry to know that the kids suffered because of this. I do hope you continue to success and that my experience is never repeated with others specially with families with multicultural backgrounds and that is a learning experience for both parties. Thank you for leading the way! Glad to be refunded and to have this forum! Looking and moving trusting that We will succeed!
Sammie B: I have been bringing my som here for months and I am not happy at all. He has had 3 different swim instructors for his baby/toddler class and the latest instructor is not ideal at all. She doesn't know the baby songs even after teaching the class for 2 months at this point. Only his very first instructor knew the 6 kids in class names and was really engaged and thorough in class but he only had her for a few weeks. There really has not been any progression in his classes over these last 6 months its the same exact thing every week and not even trying to intentionally build on his skills. I filled out a withdrawal form online and it would not go through so i completed one in office giving them 30 days notice ..my account got charged for the next month and I've been trying to get in contact with the office to get a refund and nobody is getting back to me. Not a happy mom at all.
Qnnqxn: I was a bit young when I first came to this, (9 years old) and I'm now 15, this place is wonderful and I remember my fun times when I was younger and the times where I would get so excited to swim, my favorite part was the end, we could do something with foam noodles, float around on hippo floats, all I could really say is that when I have a kid, and he likes to swim, I'm def gonna take him here!
Mauricio Soto: This place has really deteriorated in the last year. We signed up for the baby class again, the group now has twice as many children and instructor spent only 20 seconds of 1on1 time with us. Terrible experience.
Liana DeVane: I go there for lessons every week and it's amazing
Jim Coats: Ellie loves triangle swim school
Nick Baez: What a incredible place from the moment we walked in the door staff was friendly facility was clean, The owner has great communication skills, very organized company!
Shay: My kids love their teacher. We were at British Swim Club but due to an accident that increased my kids fear of water, we switched to Triangle Swim School. My kids have gained confidence and go underwater without fear.
Brittnee m: Good swim school & I love the small class size. My son really enjoys his lessons here and his teacher is awesome! However I’m giving 3 stars because I’ve noticed that the customer service is “selective. Consistently I’ve noticed that upon arrival and departure only select families get any interaction from the front desk staff. I’m not looking for a whole lot but it’s pretty noticeable when you show up and no one says hello but several families that arrive later receive a greeting. Same thing goes for when we leave...nothing but others that leave before us get a “Have a good night, see you next time” It’d be different if the front desk is busy during these times but that’s not the case at all. It’s been a couple of months that I’ve noticed this behavior and the only reason I haven’t stopped coming is because my son enjoys the class. FYI we all pay the same tuition and it is noticeable when you pick and chose whom to interact with. Customers shouldn’t feel excluded.
Dawn: Well priced with a big heated pool, but does not have the comforts & amenities of some of the pricier swim schools. Instructors were mediocre to poor when it came to dealing with high anxiety students. Staff & owners are courteous, but a bit stern. My kids left after two months because they did not enjoy the classes and their anxiety around water had increased, not improved. My advice: if your kid is very scared of the pool, avoid these types of schools and go for a reputable independent private teacher who is willing & able to be a bit more flexible with their methods.
Joe Blow: We have been with Coach Morgan of Triangle Swim School for about a year. We can see a big increase in skills since we started. Coach Morgan is fantastic! The kids have fun but Coach Morgan still ensures that they learn proper technique. Coach Morgan is patient and you can really tell that she enjoys teaching. Also the low student/teacher ratios at Triangle Swim School make a big difference! We love Coach Morgan!
Sadh-ana Seelam: Due to a bad experience I had with a swimming instructor when I was young, I gave up on learning swimming. After 10 years of giving up, I gathered courage to start with swim lessons again. Kevin, my instructor, is amazing and absolutely fantastic. He started with very basic tasks to make sure I am comfortable with water. I would totally recommend this school, also, the instructor.

Tracy “TracyMac” McNeil: Swim instructor Allison is THE best!
Jake Rosenthal: My kids do swim lessons here. The lessons and staff are great.
Nikia Reid: My son just finished kindergarten and is 6 years old. I always felt like he was so far behind his peers in the pool. I signed him up for Gypsy swim camp this summer. After 1.5 weeks there, my child can SWIM! Before, he wouldn't put his face in the water before, didn't seem to know how to hold his breath and now he is a fish and can actually swim. I'm in disbelief and proud beyond measure. I give this place 10 stars!! They performed a miracle. Forever grateful
