Anthony Cowan: I contacted these guys from a referral from a trailer dealer in garner that I purchased a trailer through. I had some wiring issues with my truck and when I called ,it was a Friday. They said it would be Tuesday before they could start, and I was surprised they could get me in that quick. I got a call a day early, they diagnosed and repaired my problem by 2 or 3. If you really do want the best service and knowledge around,you owe it to yourself to call them. Did I mention,the repair was under 100 dollars. Good service,good price. AMF: If you need a trailer hitch installed, Raleigh-Apex Hitch is the place to go! I really wasn’t sure where to go for a hitch, so I called my car dealer and was quoted a ridiculously high price. I called a local mechanic and asked him where he would go to have a trailer hitch put on…without any hesitation he told me to go to Raleigh-Apex Hitch. I called them, told them what I needed, was quoted a very fair price; and on the same day and less than an hour wait, I had a trailer hitch on my car!! Can’t say enough good things about this business…but I left feeling happy and satisfied with the experience.

Cornell Chandler: We got an Ascent Blue Ox Tow bar system installed at Raleigh-Apex Hitch on our Jeep Grand Cherokee. When not in use, the hitch connections are not very obvious. They did a very good job with the installation. They gave very good instructions on how to use the system and it worked out well. Pricing is good, much better than some of their competitors. Their showroom and shop are very well kept. I recommend that anyone considering a hitch installation look at this firm.
Ruth Anne Coblentz: We had a blue ox hitch base plate installed. We sent pictures of the plug we needed to connect the wiring to the motor home, so that they could have everything ready. When we checked everything before leaving they had the wrong cord. It was not the correct plug on it. They took the cord and cut off the factory installed plug and installed one that would work. The first time we went to use the cord the plug came apart. When it came apart it blew the fuses for everything that was wired in to the plug. Which left us with no lights on the motorhome.Also the hitch came with 2 plugs to put in the the base plate when it was not being towed. They did not give these to us. When I called about the missing pugs they said they would not ship them to us. We would have to drive approx 2.5 hours to their location and pick them up. It seems since they should have given these to us at installation they should be responsible for getting them to us. Instead we had to purchase another set from Blue Ox.

Augusta Lawn Care of NW Raleigh: We purchased our first utility trailer from this dealership about a year ago and we can are proud to recommend this dealership. They have great customer service, and great techs in the back.
Jim Royal: I purchased a BAK Revolver X4s Bed Cover for my 2021 Tacoma in the Spring of 2022 at the store on Capital Blvd. They did a great job of scheduling and installing the cover. Recently, I had an issue with the slats near the tailgate in the rollup cover. I went to Leonard. They filed the warranty for me. Two weeks later they called and had a new cover to install. I scheduled an appointment and took the truck to the store. In about 35 minutes they installed the new cover and I was on my way. The service was excellent. I have really enjoyed this bed cover and the warranty service was excellent.

Carol Vassey: What great operation! I am a RV newbie and Leonard's Raleigh went out of their way to help me and make me comfortable with what I will be doing. When all the necessary parts didn't arrive in time to install the ECHO brake package and the Blue Ox TrackPro, they installed a loaner brake kit so I could safely tow to Jordan Lake for a planned shakedown weekend. My scheduled installation with all my ordered items went very smoothly and, once again, everyone explained how the system would work and what I needed to do. I also visited the Leonard's in Albemarle and they were helpful as well. I think this is a very "customer service-oriented" company and would recommend their services to anyone!

David Murphy: Purchased a Truxedo bed cover here in 2014. I noticed it wasn't staying tight and rolling up as it had done so many times. I called and talked to Russel, explained my problem. He asked if I could bring it by so he could take a look. Took him about 10 minutes to see the problem, took about 15 minutes to call and order the replacement parts and a week later it took about 45 minutes for them to fix the issue. My Truxedo bed cover is as good as new.On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate Russell a 20. Leonard stands by their products. Ask for Russell, he's the best.
Scott Garfield: I Worked with Russell to purchase a 6x10 aluminum trailer and all of the accessories needed to trailer our Can AM Spyder. This was my first time trailering anything so not a lot of experience. Russell could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable about what I needed to purchase to make sure that I had everything that I needed. He spent probably three hours showing me how to use everything and doing a couple of dry runs to make sure that I was comfortable . Truly refreshing to work with someone who is such a professional at what they do and has great customer service. GREAT JOB!!

Jared Ollison: I dropped my dump trailer off to Leonard’s Trailers on Capital Blvd. for repairs just before going out of town for a week. While on vacation I received a text message to call the office about my trailer. I called and I was informed that my trailer was ready and that there was no charge for the repairs. I asked why there was no charge and they told me that they identified some wires that they incorrectly installed several months ago when I dropped the trailer off for repairs a previous time and that was causing me the problems with my trailer. They could have easily told me something different and charged me some money, but they didn’t. As a retired law enforcement officer and a disabled veteran, I applaud the team at Leonard trailers for their professionalism and integrity. Unfortunately, we live in a day and time where we don’t always have positive experiences in or at repair facilities. Both times the U-Haul online experience was quick and smooth (even having to navigate through all the options I didn't need). The on-site experience though will make them my go-to place to rent trucks. Thanks, guys!

Victor Engle: I bought a hitch and installation online and drove over on a Saturday morning for the install appointment. I was early for a 9am appointment and they got started right away. I was out the door by 9:30am. The installation was perfect and the installer and attendant behind the counter were professional and courteous. I'm just going to use the hitch for a hitch mount bike carrier for now but if I ever need a wiring harness I'll definitely go back to this place.

Keegan Fowler: Called and got a quote for a product and was told to call back to confirm and order. 3 days later and 20+ phone calls I have been ignored. Left voicemails with contact information and everything. Seems like they have better things to do than sell their products. Called the Raleigh Leonard’s and purchased the product over the phone in less than 10 minutes, and they charged me $120 less for the same exact product.

After calling around town, a little birdie suggested that I drive out to Leonard. I did, and the staff member (I didn't catch his name) hooked me up with what I needed, and then installed the cover on my truck to boot. I was really struck by – and grateful for – this generosity (especially on a 100-degree day). Next time, I'll check here first to purchase my truck accessories. Y'all are the best.

Rhonda Davis: Everyone was great from beginning with Paul to confirm availability and reserve truck over the phone, both gentleman's counter help during pick up and Destiny's help during my follow-up call the next day. Although they a customer rush as I arrived with four customers walking in ahead of me, the two gentlemen handled it well to the best of their abilities. The wait was more of two of the customers indecisiveness at the counter. Overall, Excellent staff and customer service.

I must say that Arica & Jonathan provided one of the best customer service experiences I have had. They provided timely professional service as their goal was to ensure we were able to handle our business at hand. Unknown to us, a fuse on our truck was out, but Arica and Jonathan worked well as a team to locate and fix the problem. We were grateful to God for their stellar work ethic.

Steven DeYoung: Shoutout to Dequon Harris at this U-Haul location! He didn’t expect me to lift a finger, even though I was more than willing to help connect the 6’ x 12’ trailer I had on reservation. Dequon explained everything clearly, patiently walked me through the process, and brightened my day with this extremely fast and efficient experience. Thanks, man!
David Forrest: With all the negative reviews, I had hesitation about renting from this location. That said I took the chance, and I’m glad I did! The people were very nice, there was no issue with miss quoting rates or anything like that as referenced in some of the other reviews, and they pick up and drop off process was painless. I could not ask for a better experience and, due to having multiple properties that I own, I would likely be renting vans and trailers again!
Haley Finn: Paid for a dolly and it was not available. Check engine oil light was on the entire time, so it would not let me see the mileage. Van REEKED TERRIBLY of cigarettes. Lots of scuff marks already existing on vehicle. TERRIBLE customer service. The 2 employees working did not look up from their phones when I Came in until I cleared my throat and they acted as if I was bothering them. Absolute worst service and will never return.

(This was reported to police and they have been arrested)The manager at the store didn't check my photo ID or the picture on my debit card that the scammer used, and now U-Haul is SUING me! This store is refusing to help me and the manager is extremely defensive and unprofessional, hung up on me 3x and refused to give me her name when she is the one who did not check photo ID and made the stolen vehicle claim.

Steve King: My experience with this store was excellent. I needed to rent an enclosed 6x12 trailer and thought I reserved one on the website. By mistake, I had selected a 'utility' (open) trailer and not the enclosed one.None was available, but Ms. Rodnai Drew went out of her way to get parts needed to get an out-of-service trailer working, so that I had a trailer to rent, without having to scramble and find another trailer at a different location. Yohance Gill: They are rude and the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. We had DENIAL of a reservation that was made. Then was asked for another reservation, then was told "I don't know when it will be available" multiple times in a row. When finally given one, it already was occupied with someone else's stuff!!!! After moving everything out, the moving truck did not have enough room to carry everything. We requested a vehicle, they told me "none were available, they're reserved". When asked when the next reservation will be available, they repeated that they do not know. They flat out refused to let us rent a vehicle. There we're multiple vehicles on the lot. There were so many more issues. DO NOT USE THIS UHAUL!!!!!
Md Nazmul Hasan Bhuyan: The lady over there asked me to leave the key in the truck to let her check me out at a later time and she promised me to provide return confirmation via email by the day end. I did not receive any email and visited the store again the next day to get an update. She started claiming that I did not leave the key in the truck and, thus, she could not check me out. She also asked me to pay for the key if I do not have it. Even though I repeatedly told her that I left the key in the truck, she was not ready to accept it. I then retrieved the key right from the same truck. She then check me out without any sign of remorse or a simple "Sorry".

Elizabeth Stewart: Wow, had a terrible experience here yesterday. Tried to refill a propane tank. Went inside and waited for about 10 mins, with my 3 yr old. Was told that someone would be out to fill it. Went outside, finally saw a different employee after another 10 mins. She told me to get someone else, who told me she couldn’t do it bc she was ‘in training and didn’t know how’…. Went back to only employee who seemed to know anything. They told other employee to get a certain person and tell them I need propane…. Finally, that employee came out and said there was a hole in the propane line and they couldn’t fill it….?? Oh, and I’d need to drive to the next closest Uhaul to fill it. Total waste of time, with my 3 yr old to keep entertained the whole tome. Avoid this place at all costs.
Elaina Espinosa: GO TO PUBLIC STORAGE.Moving is already stressful , and this location has made it 1000x times worse. I work remotely and decided to work abroad for a couple of months. I got a storage unit here as a one month free was offered. I return and try and enter my storage unit for the first time… and the key does not even enter the lock. I go to the front to ask for assistance and they told me that this sometimes happens and I’ll have to get a lock smith. There is nothing they can do… I HAD TO PY FOR A LOCKSMITH FOR A KEY AND LOCK THEY PROVIDED. The manager here is unprofessional and downright useless. Save your money, time, and headaches.

Tony Williams: Cameron really took the time to take care of customers. The store was full but he worked hard to clear the store swiftly and by taking care of every customer’s needs. We definitely don’t see this kind of service anymore.
Simon Lv: The guys at this loc charge me wrong!! I put the gas back, but they put the gas cost in my receipt. UHAUL APP sucks. It did not allow me to return the truck via APP, so I call their 24*7 call to make a note that the truck was returned at the same day, but eventually, the guys at this loc added the overnight fee in my receipt, which is so not professional and so customer friendly... the worst experience with U-Haul dealers.... Do not like it at all...

They helped arrange a trailer when our 20’ truck was filled to the brim and all of the fleet was reserved during high season. james ladd: Fantastic service here from Jamal. Not only did he hook up my car dolly, he helped me install my 2 inch ball on the receiver hitch, he showed me in detail how to safely mount the car onto the tow dolly, and he was also friendly and interesting to talk to on top of that! Great service.
Eileen Matthews: Returned a uhaul brought in to Durham from out of state. Sunday morning and the guys were professional, fast, and met us at the clearly signed return area. The store and parking area are clean and well organized. Demetrius was wonderful at making this a smooth return.
Shane: My wife and I have rented a U-Haul from this place 3 times in the last few weeks. The staff is always efficient and polite. We just got done returning our most recent rental and had kept the U-Haul a little longer than intended. The manager worked out a deal with us right after he was helping another customer with their late fees. This type of service SHOULD NOT be expected anywhere as it's considered "above and beyond" their scope of duties but this is the type of management that cares about your business and that's rare these days.

David Straughan: I've been to this location three times now and have consistently had a very good experience. Once to have a tow hitch installed on my car and twice to rent moving vehicles. On every occasion, the staff here have gone above and beyond to be helpful.On my most recent trip to this business, Jeremy and one of his colleagues helped load and unload a very heavy and awkward pallet jack in and out of the truck I rented and in and out of my personal vehicle.This is no longer the closest U-Haul location to my home but I'll still come back to this one due to the fantastic service I received from Jeremy and the others that work here.

Ubox was supposed to be delivered today, when it wasn't we waited on hold for multiple hours with the location and U-Haul headquarters. When nothing came from that we physically went to the location, which could not tell us where the box is or when it will be delivered. Told us to come back the next day because "it's not our department" that handles the UBox and that someone might be there tomorrow to answer our questions. Never will I ever trust U-Haul with anything again. Reporting to the BBB.EDITED - a year later the saga continues....now we are being threatened with a lien on a storage facility that we did not reserve! and we have U-Haul corporate calling us about delinquent payments and to reserve our ubox from arizona again! what an absolute cluster f&#$ of an organization.
Isacc Gilliam: I reserved a truck here and I was picking it up. No problem so far, until i look in the back to inspect and see if my Dolly's i pre-order were there. They were not. And i reserved these items at a time when the store was closed. THIS means that i have to WAIT from 5AM TO, apparently, 7AM. I'm Currently waiting right now, so what better time to do this review...Not only that but I can't even access my storage unit from the sister location 5505 Commercial Ave., in Raleigh, that was supposedly 24/7 access, until, I'm guessing, 7am as well! So thats another inconvenience that throws my plans out the window!!!The only reason that its not 1 star... is the fact that MOST of the clerks and workers are very patient and kind. And Customer service are the same. With MY experience. But iono how my equipment wasn't there. I wouldn't even be that mad about my storage if AT LEAST my stuff that i PRE-ORDER was THERE!!! Or even tell me ahead of time!

Tom: Using the U-Box service to move coast-to-coast was a complete disaster.The empty box was a day late arriving, and I had to spend a couple of hours on the phone trying to sort it out with U-Haul. The full box then failed to arrive on time with absolutely no warning. I spent countless fruitless, frustrating hours spread across several days alternatively sat on hold or being passed between various U-Haul "Customer Service" personnel who had no clue where our box was or when it would arrive.Eventually, nearly 4 days passed the "guaranteed" arrival date, another Customer Support person finally got in touch to "warn" us that our box would be delayed. They couldn't tell me any details but assured me that our box hadn't been lost and was still on its way. A couple of days after that, they announced that our box had been located in the next state over and would be delivered the next day (6 days late, in total). A couple more conversations with the local U-Haul were required to confirm its arrival and have them prepare it to be unloaded.Finally, U-Haul were contractually obliged to refund us $50 a day for the delays ($350 in total) and eventually did so. We asked them to refund more of the $2k they charged us, considering the lack of warning of the delay and subsequent lack of customer support. They offered to help us unload to box, which I explained we didn't need, and then simply stopped replying to any further requests for additional refund. No explanation, no apology, no negotiation; Just ghosted.U-Haul clearly doesn't value our custom, so I highly doubt they'll value yours!
Payman Jaf: I had some difficulty with tracking my u-box. When I contacted this u-haul, one of the managers called Nianta went above and beyond in helping me find my box. I recommend this location because of her. Thank you Nianta!
Mathenge Wambugu: The point of a reservation is to ensure the availability of a truck when it comes time. That's why the online reservation system exists. I reserved their 26' truck almost a week before and it confirmed availability without any issues. The day before I receive no call at 6pm as indicated in the receipt, meant to confirm the pick up time. I find out they changed my pick-up location to different dealer at a much different time. A 5 hour difference. I made plans with others to start at 7am after I picked it up and now I'm forced to wait until 12pm to go pick it up at a location much further. Called them and they made it seem like it's common place to not have your reservation fulfilled. Then what's the point?! Terrible service.
