City Club Raleigh: what do users think?
Helen Blount (Passioncare): Dinner was great! Jonathan was the chef on duty, the steak was so juicy and delicious. Excellent customer service, Jasmine was amazing. Still considering being a club member.
B K: We are so excited to be new members of the City Club. The views are amazing, the staff super sweet, and the activity calendar offers lots of opportunity to meet new people, can't wait to get started.
Waqar Malik: Great place for good service and good food. Enjoyed Mother's Day brunch with the whole family
Brad Gold (NCNYChief): I was here for a meeting and I'm not a member, bit or was wonderful. The views of the city are spectacular. I can't really speak to much else
Henry M. Lancaster II: Comfortable environment
Tyson Duerrich: Wow!!! Amazing facility, atmosphere and with a great view.
David Gill John: So far, so good. I am a returning member, and it appears to have changed for the better.
Priscilla Garland: Excellent food, wait staff and ambiance - was there for lunch with coworkers
Edith Berry: The ambiance and composition of the building were par excellence! The food was tasty too! I modeled a vintage hat collection for a birthday event.
Crash Gregg: Gorgeous space atop the Wells Fargo building in downtown Raleigh. A perfect location for meetings -large or small, a great meal with a client or co-worker, or an easy escape from the office to get some work done. The exemplary service and the panaramic skyline views done hurt either.
Amanda Alberico: Love the views and meeting space!!
Michael W.: With this review, I sent them a notice to cancel and all I got back was a canned email that I'm sure they send everyone. These people don't care about their clientele and based on the revolving door at the staff level...it shows.. The picture attached is what you get for $87. A 14 ounce steak bone included-no sides. I used to go to this Club for the dining experience but when I heard they got a new chef....well...they got a new chef and boy have things gone downhill in a bad way. My steak was $60 and then they added in a 21% service fee (in addition to my monthly membership fee) and then I still needed to add in a 21% tip for the server who had the nerve to ask me if we wanted a bread service. Take your money and go somewhere else. Golden Corral cooks a better steak than what I got that night...A guest that was with me that night could not believe they had shrimp fried rice on the menu and said it would served in a take home cardboard Chinese restaurant box....Really...what an out of touch choice.
Bennett David: The food and drinks here are absolutely amazing. Couple this with the views and you’ll have a nice place to take a date, or to have a business lunch or dinner. There also lots of conference rooms accessible to members, included with your membership.
Julia Horvath: Wow. If you've never been, try try try to go. It sucks you have to be a member to go, but a member can bring you as a quest! This place has good food, great service, and AMAZING views. You can also do your work from a nicely designated area too.
Sam Hebda: By far one of the best views in Raleigh and most importantly they are incredible people! The whole team is awesome and the service is top tier. Highly recommend.
TheKatboo2350: Always wonderful
George Reid: Great view. Excellent service. Great menu. The chef is very creative .
Denise O'Neal: It's a beautiful place! Very clean and well presented. Excellent customer service delicious food and fantastic drinks! The view is pretty nice as well
Pete Munos: I was there for a company sponsored event. Nice layout on the top floor of the Wells Fargo building. Great tapas spread.
Andy Honeycutt: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Brian Ralph: Great facility, outstanding service.

The Laurelbrook: what do users think?
Tami Howard: Beautiful space! Great for a small venue. My only negative comment is that the parking lot is small and loose gravel not good for high heel shoes or wheelchairs.
Kari Damico-Parker: The staff at the Laurelbrook and Catering Works made our wedding day an absolute dream! The venue was gorgeous (December wedding) and the food was phenomenal! Kayla (Laurelbrook) was extremely helpful and was very responsive through email. For reference, our wedding was around $22k total. Highly recommend!
April Zurenda: I was working a temp job there fornthe day helping out. Great staff and people.
DjKool Loke: Great Staff & a beautiful place for any event
Rachel Albanese: Positive:Professionalism,QualityAmazing!
Shantha Gowda: We recently hosted our pre-wedding cocktail party at the Laurelbrook. It was the perfect venue for our loved ones to gather. We loved the location of being right in the heart of downtown Raleigh but with ample parking and outdoor space. The Catering Works team went above and beyond to make our guests feel comfortable and the food was incredible.
kakemma bennett: Great place to have your function. Beautiful place to work, real family place
Hannah Murdock: A stunning venue with attentive & knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend booking this venue for ANY occasion! Every minute detail beautifully done!
Wendy Burnette: A blank slate that you can customize for any event! Loved my experience!
Mary Beck Skinner: The Laurelbrook is a fabulous venue! I have attended multiple events there and have always been impressed with the cuisine, décor and the Catering Works team. It is truly a unique space ideal for any celebration or corporate event. Will not disappoint!
Steve Fordham: The Laurelbrook is a great venue. I have attended events there and it has always been a great experience!
Debbie Carrara: The space is beautiful. Given that it is affiliated with Catering Works the transformation of the space for the event was amazing - beautifully lit and decorated. The space itself is a unique - open with large windows and several restrooms were immediate to the event space. Parking was convenient.
wade lewis: I've had the pleasure of attending two Culinary Adventures this year at the Laurelbrook and words can't describe the deliciously great time had and excellent service provided by the Catering Works team. These are memories that'll last for a lifetime!
Kitty Kinnin: I have attended many events at Laurelbrook. Their creativity is astounding. Their thematic culinary adventures capture the spirit and the senses of each destination. The space is so beautiful, and the Catering Works crew are masters at transforming it into imaginative experiences for any event.
Jennifer Viscosi: I have been to several events at The Laurelbrook including one of their themed dinners which was amazing! The venue is conveniently located off of Capital Blvd and 440. They have plenty of parking and a great outdoor area with market lights. This space would work really well for a cocktail hour or outdoor reception. The inside space is open, has clean restrooms, and the room can really be transformed quite easily with adding your own decor, linens and florals. Their in-house caterer is fantastic! The food, presentation and service are 5 star! I'd highly recommend this place for a birthday party, baby shower, rehearsal dinner and even a wedding reception.
ella Kucera: I’ve recently attended a wedding last weekend at the Laurel brook and I’ve never seen a more urban, and beautiful event space. The food was outstanding and they made the best wedding cake I’ve ever had. Everything was made to detail from the decor, food, and even the flower arrangements were gorgeous!
Mary Santa Lucia: The themes are always amazing! The space is wonderful and the food is the absolute best!!
Karen Albanese: I have attended two of the Catering Works Culinary Adventure dinners, I was blown away at the talent and creativity that I experienced. The food was exceptional the ambiance was wonderful. The Laurelbrook is very special.
Cathy eldredge: Awesome venue, have been there for the culinary adventure series since it started, love love love the series and Catering Works. I have used the Laurelbrook room for a surprise birthday party and it was the perfect venue! Definitely recommend Catering Works for their fabulous staff and amazing food ❤️
Mark Bearden: I have attended several events at the Laurelbrook. What a perfect venue!

1705 East: what do users think?
Kyle & Taylor Marker: We were looking for a venue where everything was all-encompassing and came across 1705 East...it was perfect! The venue is beautiful, location is convenient, and the fact that food and drinks are all combined with the venue through Rocky Top Catering, made everything so easy! We worked with both Quann and Karlee, and both were incredible and very quick to respond to any questions we had throughout the process.
Blane Rice: Wonderful place for wedding event and rehearsal dinner! Service was outstanding atmosphere was very good and the food was delicious! What more can you ask for? Very satisfied! Vicki is awesome!
Marc Snyder: No handicap parking in front of building or ramp.
Kristen Whitney: We had our ceremony and reception at 1705 and it was hands down the best experience! 1705 is a true GEM in the Raleigh area. It is accessible, convenient and beautiful! It is one of the few venues that offers catering (by the renown Rocky Top), bar service and a separate indoor ceremony/reception space and cocktail hour space. With 1705 we did not have to worry about catering, flatware, bar service, tables/chairs, cake cutting service, etc etc. It was all included in the venue, which is extremely rare compared to the long list of venues I evaluated! Even better they have a fully functioning kitchen so our food came out fresh and warm and boy did we get so many compliments on it from our guests!! They can easily accommodate indoor and outdoor weddings, something that was very important to us as we were getting married in December. But I’d be remiss to not mention one of my favorite parts of 1705, and that’s Quann Bradley. He is hands down the BEST venue manager I have ever encountered. He is flexible, easy to work with, fun, honest, and I could go on and on! I hope Rocky Top knows how much of a STAR they have in Quann! He worked tirelessly to make our day go perfectly and had waiters following my husband and I around to ensure we were fed and able to enjoy drinks during our cocktail hour and reception. He is just so amazing and I felt so lucky to work with him. I couldn’t have imagined our perfect day anywhere other than 1705. It is a RARE GEM in the Raleigh area. Thank you Quann and the RT staff for making our day incredible!
Matt Kucmyda: Absolutely phenomenal experience. My now wife and I had our ceremony and reception here, catered by Rocky Top Catering. Everything from viewing the venue to planning everything to execution was flawless. I cannot recommend this venue (or catering company) enough. Thank you everyone who made the Kucmyda wedding one that everyone will talk about
Taylor: Unfortunately have been trying to get in touch with 1705 for the last few weeks to get our site visit rescheduled and it has been nothing but a hassle. The day of our tour I was emailed a few hours in advance in regards to a reschedule (was already on the way so didn’t check my emails) and when arrived nobody was there. No phone call was made when I didn’t respond to email. Mind you this was the day of. It was really frustrating. Have been trying to reschedule a visit for weeks and the communication has been extremely poor. The catering company, Rocky Top, are the only ones who were responsive in a reasonable time manor. I gave up after not hearing back from Karlee or Quann once again.
Sheila Cain: Our God Daughter Wedding Ceremony was Awesome and this Venue
Beth Dine: I just got to marry the love of my life at this venue and it was beyond the best day of my life. The venue was great, but what made it even better was Quann and his staff. He went above and beyond to make our dream wedding come true. I could rave about them all day, but just want to say thank you for our fairytale! If you can’t tell I highly recommend :) !
Wendy Nicholson: The venue beautiful. We had a great time celebrating my niece wedding.
Saajid Haque: Positive:Professionalism,QualityWe hosted our wedding at 1705 East and worked with Quann. He was the absolute best! The food was delicious and all our guests raved about how awesome the staff was that helped with the event. Quann and his team were great and we had the time of our lives thanks to them!
Ms. Tee: Beautiful
C Foust: Very elegant place
Angela Ridgeway-Patterson: Very elegant!
Teba Dunbar: Recently got married at 1705 in August. The venue was amazing!!!! We worked with Quann Bradley who went above and beyond our expectations to ensure that everything went according to plan. Quann was there for any questions we had and responded in a timely fashion. Quann was attentive to details and was a very big help. The service there was exceptional, food was great and it was overall a good time had at 1705 East. The staff was friendly and engaged. We couldn’t have asked for anything else.
Chazzmania 62: Nice venue, nice bar.. bathroom kinda smells from the groom throwing up all over the place.
Karen Hector: Very nice place and Quan is so people oriented and he has excellent customer service skills. We are having my son's wedding reception there tomorrow June 25th so I'll be writing an updated review!
Pat Hockaday: Positive:Professionalism,QualityIt was a nice venue and great staff member he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.
Nadia Ince: Attended my first pop up shop here and it was absolutely amazing. I love the space. I believe you can rent this space out for different kinds of events.
Patricia Taylor: Beautiful venue. Excellent management!
Theresa Syros: The Food and service is amazing
skylar coley: I truly wish this experience with RTC was as good as what we paid for. We’ve been in contact with Rocky Top Catering for at least the last two years. I have been super excited to use their venue 1705 East as well as have a delicious meal prepared by their amazing chefs. Our original wedding date was 5/31/2020. Naturally, we had our menu selected, invitations sent, and our expectations set extremely high by our coordinator Kayla Miles. Once COVID hit, we made the decision to move our wedding back to 8/23/2020. We had to make serious cut backs to our guest count and were given strict guidelines to follow to stay compliant with COVID-19 regulations. After being handed off to the sales director, Carol Sasseen, I was nervous but hopeful the experience would still be pleasant regardless of the lack of communication from her or really anyone else on the staff, after we lost Kayla. Venue looked great. Everything was going fine until I realized the plate I was served contained none of the items I selected, paid for, and signed off on. I tried to be polite, because it was my wedding day and told Carol everyone was eating it and seemed to like it although it wasn’t what we selected. Today 8/24, I reached out to Carol and told her I was extremely disappointed with what happened. Sent her all of the email correspondence between myself and Kayla after deciding on the menu, and even provided photo evidence of the menu that was approved and signed by Rocky Top Employee, Kayla Miles. Asked her to call my husband to discuss what would happen from here. Carol stated to my husband she sent me a proposal that I “didn’t look at” signing off on the food that was served. My records indicate that the proposal I was sent highlighted the changes made to my guest count, number of tables and so forth. After looking deeper into my correspondence, Carol evidently thought the sample menu that was provided to me by Kayla Miles to help my Husband and I understand how a typical menu is laid out, was in fact what we selected. She told my Husband it was my fault and refused to do anything about the mistake that was made. We didn’t ask for all of our money back, we just said “hey we paid 2600$ for the food we selected based off the many tastings we attended and you didn’t provide the service we selected and paid for.” I am extremely disappointed with the customer service here and the lack of accountability by the staff. I understand COVID has provided financial burden to everyone including vendors like RTC. However, we paid OUR hard earned money to have the kind of wedding we wanted. We’ve contacted our lawyer and I hope someone from RTC decides to return my husbands call so we can discuss what happens from here.

The Stockroom at 230: what do users think?
Entric Hyde: Very nice. Has a classy upscale venue feeling. The staff were great. The set-up was beautiful and the food was tasty.
Jess Joch: Had a work party here, the setting is really cool with exposed brick walls. Makes a great venue space. The food was fantastic and the staff were very nice.
Dawn Clack: We had our company Christmas party there December 9th. I really enjoyed it and the venue.
Brian Massie: Was a vendor for a weeking this past weekend. Venue is well kept, clean and roomy.
Kristine Christiansen: We absolutely loved having our wedding at the stockroom! From the getting ready suites, to a great downtown location, to a beautiful venue space it was perfect for us. Sam, Natalie, and Taylor were all fantastic to work with and always answered my questions in a timely manor. The stockroom will always have a special place in our hearts!!
Loreen Miller: Lots of steps. Small up and stairs for thingsFood ok. Nothing special.
Angela C: Stockroom 230 was everything we wanted from a venue and the staff was great to work with.We had a guest count of 125 people and did the ceremony and reception in the space. It was plenty of room to drape off the space during the flip without being too crowded. We decided to go with Empire Eats for catering - which got us a discount on the venue and the food was delicious. We did BYOB for alcohol - which was a huge money savings - we were very thankful for this option at Stockroom which we didn’t find at many other Raleigh venues. The staff was helpful and responsive throughout the planning process and during the event itself. Helping us with unique table layouts (as we had 16 farm tables), answer numerous questions, and helping our family/friends during set up and break down. The only thing we would have hoped was different - was getting to clean up our DIY decorations the following morning instead of the night of. This was a bit of a downer for our family who had to stay behind to clean up.The glass box is a great plus of this venue - we used it for the bridal party to get ready during the day, for pictures, and as an area for the flower girls to be babysat during the reception.
Lis B.: Beautiful rustic place great for all kinds special affairs
C Phillips, MHA, Doctoral Candidate: I had an amazing time. Yesterday my little sister had her wedding there and it was beautiful.
Zach Amittay: My non-profit organization hosted an evening event at the Stockroom on a weeknight and had a great experience. A beautiful space, responsive and detail-oriented staff, and excellent coordination with Empire Eats catering to ensure everything went smoothly.
Katherine Kilbourne: My son had his wedding here last year and it was phenomenal. Spacious, elegant, warm and welcoming. I believe they had 140 guests and it wasn't tight at all. Lots of dancing and fun memories.
Crystal Hil: My wedding was going to be great regardless because it was a day for my husband and I but they have a preferred vendor list which you pick from. They assured you that these are the best of the best to ensure you have a quality experience. I chose Cake Couture and I had a HORRIBLE experience. When I shared my frustration with the stockroom didn’t really seem to care as the wedding was over and they were paid. If you rent this space. I would not recommend using cake couture.
Fred Berkowitz: Very nice venue for a party. Would be perfect if there was another room for cocktail hour.
Kurt Hilton: As a local wedding photographer, I couldn't have better things to say about this venue. We've photographed several weddings at The Stockroom, and they've all been wonderful! Great location. Great ambiance. Large, open ballroom. The staff has always been incredibly helpful, professional, and right on top of everything before, and during the event.
Jill East: Beautiful venue!
Jonathan Wagoner: Attended a wedding here. Great venue.
Monet Marville: Beautiful wedding that I attended I'm really interested in using this venue for my 50th birthday 🎂🎉🎈
barberdriven: Ok great place
Julie Rowe: Easy to find, nice historic space, bathrooms clean and roomy
Corey Bennett: Very nice venue, highly recommend.
Chip Suber: Lovely brick loft space for events. Staff is easy to work with and they take pride in the venue.

The Maxwell: what do users think?
Taylor Jackson: We couldn’t have imagined a better venue or team to work with for our wedding. Everyone at The Maxwell went above and beyond to help us make our day a success. Due to the weather, we had to move the entire day’s events inside the week of the wedding and they helped make the transition from outside to inside seamless.Immediately after we first toured the venue we knew we wanted to get married here. We can’t say enough great things about it and would highly recommend the venue and team to anyone looking to get married in the area!
Emily Turner: We absolutely loved having our ceremony and reception at The Maxwell. Super beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces (a must for a June wedding in the south), excellent staff, and great vendor relationships that made for smooth planning and day-of coordination. Important reasons we went with them: indoor ceremony AND reception spaces, great getting ready room for the ladies, and excellent bar packages. And of course, the beautiful white background that served as a blank canvas for our vision. Highly recommend The Maxwell!
Fawn Gibbs: My best friend got married here and the venue is absolutely gorgeous! The amenities are amazing and Tova was so helpful as the wedding coordinator!
Michael Zlotnicki: We held our daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception at The Maxwell, and Tova was our wedding coordinator. Absolutely everything about the day was perfect! The venue was clean and prepared for us when we arrived at 11:00. Tova was the best wedding coordinator you could hope for. Throughout the process, she was friendly, helpful, upbeat, organized, and professional. Our very experienced photographers said she was one of the best coordinators that they had ever worked with. The bar staff was also friendly and helpful. The venue was beautiful, and we can’t wait to get our photographs! We would absolutely recommend be The Maxwell and Tova to family and friends!
Paige Sikora: We LOVED our wedding at The Maxwell! The venue is stunning and a beautiful blank canvas for whatever your wedding vision might be. All of the staff was professional and so wonderful to work with, they made the day run smoothly and there were no issues throughout the day that I needed to be made aware of. We are so so pleased that we decided to book The Maxwell. Many of our guests commented about how lovely and clean the venue is and I love the modern aesthetic. Also, the outside green space and white brick make for gorgeous photo backdrops! We can’t wait to get our pictures back and I will share some here when we do!
i die 2 fast: Beautiful venue
Ina Lui: We had our wedding at the Maxwell with Tova as our coordinator and it was the best choice we could have made for our wedding. Everyone said that wedding planning is stressful, but with Tova by our side, my partner and I enjoyed the entire planning process. Everyone we interacted with on the day of our wedding was absolutely lovely and so fun and made our day even more special. In addition to the wonderful team at the Maxwell, the venue is absolutely beautiful (the pictures speak for themselves!). The Maxwell is truly a canvas you can make your own and we were so impressed with its ability to transform into the vision we wanted (we were even able to have our dog included in the ceremony, which meant the world to us!). Everything about the day and the planning process was perfect and would highly recommend having your special day here and highly recommend Tova as your coordinator! Truly one of the best experiences my partner and I had and it was all thanks to Tova, the lovely Maxwell Team, and the beautiful venue!
Nicole Hill: We got married at The Maxwell last week and we could not recommend the venue more! From the beginning, the staff was wonderful to work with. I had multiple questions throughout the process and they always worked with us for a solution. Sometimes you fear always hearing "no" to ideas but that was not the case. The venue itself is beautiful and we were able to make it our own. We got so many compliments on the space and were glad to be able to do everything (ceremony + reception) in one spot. Overall, I highly recommend checking out the maxwell!
Randi Smith: The Maxwell is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Raleigh! And the staff is an absolute dream to work with.
Meagan Culkin: Hands down one of our favorite venues to EVER work at! Not only is the space beautiful but the team there goes above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience for all guests. One of the most hard working teams we have ever encountered and the absolute top of our recommended venues to work with.
Nicole Conder: Love The Maxwell! The venue is beautiful and the whole staff are amazing to work with!
Jennifer Wood: As a wedding vendor, I consider the maxwell one of the nicest venues in Raleigh to work at. The staff are the loveliest and most accommodating people and their attention to detail is impeccable! Always clean and the grounds are a wonderful place to do a variety of color palettes and styles. Truly magical place to get married with endless possibilities.
Alaina Ronquillo: I’m a wedding photographer and love photographing weddings at the Maxwell. It is such a beautiful space! The staff and management are always so kind and make you feel welcome every time! I recommend this venue for any couple looking for a chic and elegant space for their special day!
Amie Mason: For an Event Venue there were no ashtrays out in the smoking area which means people dressed in their finest have to put a butt in their purse or pocket or litter. The wedding faces the altar and doors, because of the minimalist look the door stoppers were in the pictures of the couple during the ceremony.
Tana Erickson: The Maxwell did a great job working with us to help make our wedding dream a reality. Tova was our month of coordinator and was an amazing resource for us with the final details and on the day itself. I would highly recommend the Maxwell and Tova to anyone! They’re such an incredible team and so easy to work with. The staff was amazing and so helpful!
Take Heart Raleigh: We hosted our annual fundraiser event, Take Heart Raleigh, again this year at The Maxwell and it was a huge success! The team was great to work with and flexible in making our night come to life. Everything from the bar and service to the venue itself made it the perfect place. We are able to adjust and accommodate our varying attendance and utilize both or one room to best suit our event. It has been a true pleasure and we look forward to continued successful events together!
Dina Shehata: Our vision truly came to life at the Maxwell and our wedding day was amazingly unforgettable! The staff at the Maxwell is so professional, detail-oriented, and simply the best at what they do. From our tour of the venue to our actual wedding day, they made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Even though plans changed here and there day of the wedding, they went above and beyond to fix any issues that came up and to ensure that our day was smooth. We made the best decision when we chose Tova as our wedding planner. She is truly thoughtful, professional, kind, and so organized. She takes note of all the little details needed to execute the perfect wedding. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you Tova! We highly recommend the Maxwell as a venue and Tova for any and all wedding planning needs!
Michaela Beynon: The Maxwell was absolutely perfect for our of 75. It is a beautifully simple, yet very sophisticated space that allows you to create any vision of a fairytale. Our guests were all from out of state and we needed a venue with easy access to downtown Raleigh. Our guests were very appreciative of the short shuttle ride and the fact that the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all took place at the same location. The staff at the Maxwell were top notch. Not only was everyone so helpful, they were accommodating and flexible to ensure our vision came to life. We did a few “out of the norm” things, and they were more than willing to make all our wishes come true.
Dorothy Rozio: Beautiful!
Jillian Whittaker: The Maxwell is an incredible place to have your wedding! The venue itself is beautiful, and it is truly a blank slate that you can turn into whatever you want. The outdoor area is perfect for cocktail hour and for guests to relax during the reception. I will say, the number 1 perk of the Maxwell is the staff. Everyone that works there is helpful, professional, and kind. We worked specifically with Tova for day-of coordination and she was better than we could have ever hoped for. Tova stayed calm and took care of whatever we needed. We did most of the planning leading up to the day, but I didn't have to think about any coordination details once we got to the venue on the day of the wedding. Tova handled everything that my husband, family, and I needed. She was not only incredibly helpful, but was also really nice and great to be around. I could go on and on about how great Tova was all day, but I also want to shout out the assistant coordinator, and bartending team. Everyone was great! I am so glad that we chose the Maxwell as our venue and I would highly recommend it to anyone else.
Elizabeth Fieno: Well managed & a beautiful space to have a wedding.
