Woodcraft of Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill: what do users think?
Keith Cathcart: Woodcraft of Raleigh NC is a great place to shop for woodworking tools and supplies. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and they're always willing to answer your questions and help you find the right products for your project.I recently went to Woodcraft to buy some tools for a new woodworking project I'm working on. I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable sales associate who helped me find the exact tools I needed. He also gave me some helpful tips on how to use them.I was impressed with the wide selection of woodworking tools and supplies that Woodcraft has to offer. They have everything you need, from basic hand tools to high-end power tools. They also have a great selection of wood, finishes, and other woodworking supplies.Overall, I had a great experience shopping at Woodcraft of Raleigh NC. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, and they had a wide selection of products to choose from. I would definitely recommend Woodcraft to anyone who is looking for woodworking tools and supplies.
Bert Heffley: Nice store for some exotic wood and some tools. The reason for low ratings is nobody says hi and to busy looking at there phones. They try very hard not to make eye contact. This is not a one time thing as it happens every time. Apparently from alot of reviews am not the only one that feels that way.
Leonard Country Harrison: Their service and advice is always top notch. Every time I ask questions, they've known the answer. Every time I've needed help with a product, they've given service like it's their absolute pleasure. I highly recommend woodworkers use them.
Shayne Grant: Very helpful and knowledgeable staff
Anita Barnes: Very clean and friendly cashiers also very knowledgeable of woodworking tools and accessories
Amy Popp: They have a great selection and my husband loves this store. I took my daughter because she wants to get into woodcarving. The staff was friendly but not especially helpful in telling us what tools would be best for a beginner (beyond the prepackaged sets available).
Blake Ball: Friendly, helpfull folks that are woodworkers too.
Candy Elliott: Amazing selection and staff was so helpful, knowledgeable. My husband was thrilled!
David Kalavity: Excellent tools and on-site expertise.
Sal: I love this place, and the people who works there are so kind!
James Elliott: Good service - staff exhibited patience, knowledge and willing to assist to research specs of items I was looking at to ensure they would work on my project.
Gina Jordan: I would give a 5 star review, but the guy at checkout is blatantly rude. Other employees are helpful, the store is wonderful, but we don't visit very often because of that one guy....yes, he really is that bad.
Monica Schario: Great customer service!
richard tracy: Very helpful and great staff
Aidan Romans-Murray: Good selection on offer, and I did find everything I needed, but unfortunately the older gentleman who was running checkout was pretty rude and made the exchange very uncomfortable. He just kind of sat there catatonically. The card reader bugged out during the transaction, and he watched me fumble with it for about two minutes before begrudgingly, and awkwardly, fixing the problem. The encounter was pretty uncomfortable. Offering good customer service is not difficult, and should be the bare minimum.
Phil Marino: Excellent products and customer service. The manager, Herb, in particular is quite the gentleman and will do right by his customers. I highly recommend this Woodcraft.
Paul Stanley: The man at the register was too busy working on putting a model together to put any effort into his job. Made me stand and wait while he finished his piece. Then when I pointed out that both items were mislabeled compared to what they rang up for, sighed at me and only fixed one. Y’all can do better. I usually find what I need at the store and am glad it exists, but hire people who care a little.
Cody Lagana: This store is absolutely one of a kind !! A handy mans dream
David Daughton: Well stocked store. Very helpful workers. Reasonable prices.
Marce Speranza: The place is great and had everything we were looking for. The problem was the man at the register who, as soon as he heard my son and I speaking Spanish, stopped talking to us and didn't say another word until we left. We felt horrible because we are tourists visiting from abroad.
Andrew Sirman: Glen is always a big help when I'm in there. He has no problem talking me through ways to get my equipment the way I need it.

Wurth Wood Group - Raleigh: what do users think?
ric rosel: Delivered particle board here. Receiving starts around 0800-ish. Once mty must leave due to lack of space. NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.
ameer baksh: After 3 years of dedication from sun up to sun down i get assaulted by a temporary coworker and then fired on the spot after being put in the hospital. All i was doing was following orders. These ppl are unbelievable. Everyone there loved me the customers and full time employees know how i gave them 200% everyday and then they throw me to the curb for nothing. Buy your lumber and cabinet supplies elsewhere. Wurth dosnt care about yoyr personal needs just filling there pockets.
Steven Oconnor: Good direction but loading dock in back very tight for larger truck trailer
DORTCH LEWIS: I make skateboards as a side gig, and piddle with small woodworking projects. Everyone there is very knowledgeable about the products they sell. I don’t plan to go anywhere else. Not to mention the Wurth products are top notch.
Chip Haver: Helpful and knowledgeable. Purchase a good bit of my cabinet wood, plywood, and hardware from them. Sam is great with customer service
Jessica & Josue Rodriguez: Realy good .
Keith Miller: Great shop for Fine woodworking... The only product that I could not find was an inch and three eighths cabinet screw to hat are used for hardware. I currently install a JNK cabinet store which I would recommend to home owners and salesman alike, the product is Great...
Dennis Euliss: Nice place
Grant Faulkner: I’m sorry but closing at 1:00pm every weekday is probably convenient for the staff but not convenient at all for the customer.
Tommy Mills: Very helpful
David Evanoff: Over priced. Charged more than Lowe's or home depot for melamine and mdf. Was a customer in Charlotte, won't be a customer here.I do enjoy being lied to about price..
Mike Keyser: They have always delivered our orders in a timely and accurate manner. The sales reps are friendly and personable. No complaints.
Jerry Schirtzinger: I used to buy my wood here. But it seems they really don't want to deal with non-professionals. Have it your way, Wurth. I go to Gibsonville now.2017 update:Last visit was an improvement. Counter man was familiar as the guy who used to work in the warehouse. He's always been friendly & treated me fairly. It irks me though, that unless you have an account & know the secret handshake, you MUST PAY IN CASH. I'd like to see the figures on who isn't paying their bills. I'd bet it's more the "professional" who skips out when business gets slow. That said, wood (hickory) was better quality than I'd been getting in Gibsonville of late, so I'll probably hit the ATM & head back for the next load.
Jared Gross: I'm a professional that sources materials from multiple vendors and found this branch of Wurth exceptional. I'd give it 5 stars if its location wasn't on the edge of civilization, it was quite a drive. But it is a store for professionals. Its not home depot, so previous review writers that gave it low stars obviously weren't prepared for that.
Charlie Howell: If I could rate this company 0 stars I would. They have the worst customer service out of any one I have ever done business with. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING. I was a first time customer and they refused to send me my order a week after I paid for it. I was planning on being a repeat customer ordering 10-20 sheets of 3/4" 5' x 10' MDF a week but not now. MIKE STEVENS who is supposed to be upper management would not even return my phone call to try to resolve this matter. They lost my business over $30. Don't wast your time or money. I will tell everyone I know and do business with NOT to use wurth wood group. They should change the name to wurthless wood group.

Custom Woodworking & Remodeling: what do users think?
Ellee Cooke: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueJoe gave me some great advice! Would highly recommend.
Victor Lu: No reputable business owner is going to wait a year to respond to a review and discredit as being "fake."Please stay away from Joe Parulski. He is deceitful, manipulative and cunning. We had a terrible experience with him during our home project. He's a thief who will act like he's got your "best interest" at heart, but that's his way of taking advantage of you. Please see the response from the owner of Big Monkey Renovation & Repair on their google page, acknowledging that Joe Parulski is a deceitful business owner. He is being sued by multiple people who were taken advantage of by him. Please look for my blog:badcontractor101 (blogspot)Service:Home extension services
C P: A Great General Contractor! Joe gets things done whether it be a big or small job. His work is up to code and done the right way. I trust him & I will use him again for my future projects! Call him for all of your remodeling/construction needs, he will take care of you! Having used multiple general contractors in the past, he’s by far been the best I’ve ever hired. I can’t recommend him enough!Service:Remodeling
Sue Kerata, Realtor: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe hired JP Custom Carpentry to build a new front porch railing. It was well done, on time & right in budget. It transformed our house. I’ve also recommended him to my clients which says a lot!Service:Fencing construction installation
James Lickliter: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThese guys were the best I’ve ever used. They were always on time, professional and polite. They definitely had my best interest at heart. They are my go to company when I need remodeling or any type of house repairs. They can do it all.Services:Bathtub repair,Repairs maintenance
Patrick Cooper: Joe did my addition, deck and redid my bathroom. He did a great job. I strongly recommend Joe.Services:Bathroom remodeling,Deck construction,Bathtub replacement,General repairs maintenance
Sarah Cozens: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessDid not pay a babysitter for her services, AFTER she already worked the hours. I would not use this man for any services. Very sketchy.. wouldn’t be comfortable with paying him.
Heather Feather: Critical:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHe ripped off a woman who did work for him. She worked for hours and the next day he said he was “not comfortable with payment at this time”. He’s not trustworthy.
Carter Cohen: Critical:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueJoe hired a girl to do a service for him inside his own home and refuses to pay her. I don’t think this is someone I would give my business to. He knows if someone does a service they need to be PAID and yet he refused to do so.
Jeremy Barefoot _ Staff - CaryHS: Joe did a great job. We used Joe to complete a major renovation and addition to our home, adding over 500 square feet of space and modernizing our interior. Joe's craftsmanship and attention to detail were second to none, and we have been very happy with our new space. Much of what he created sprung out of his idea and vision with clear and focused conversations with us, which was truly helpful as we were not sure what we were doing from the beginning. Impressively, Joe was able to complete everything within our budget, despite the onset of Covid and the rise of material cost. Joe negotiated and fought for us in this regard and became a true "one stop shop," handling all aspects of the addition. We love our new space and it is as if we are living in a brand new home! Joe made our 1965 ranch house feel like a modern, custom built luxury home.Services:Home renovations,Bathroom remodeling,Plumbing fixture installation,Home construction
Kathy Froehlich: I had a set time and date for an estimate. I took off work to be home. I received a call the night before confirming the appointment. Joe was a no call , no show. Very inconsiderate since I lost work time over this. When I called to inquire where he was and emailed the same, I received no response, no call back. Rude and inconsiderate.
EBERECHUKWU IRECHUKWU: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueOverall my experience with Joe was a positive and rewarding. I enjoyed the employees, they are hard working and always complete the work in a timely manner . I will definitely recommend them to whoever needs their servicesService:Remodeling
Heidi Hobler: We are really enjoying our new addition! Joe and his team were professional and respectful of our needs throughout the process. Joe was willing to work with us and addressed our building questions with expertise and insight. We would very much recommend JP Construction!
Josh Riley: We recently hired JP Custom Carpentry to build custom built ins in the living room. This is the fourth project we have hired Joe and his team to do (1. Installed new vinyl siding on my house, 2. Replaced 19 windows 3. Repaired a leaking fireplace). We are completely satisfied with all of the projects. For the built ins, Joe came in and surveyed the room with my rough sketches and made great suggestions that we used to enhance the finished product. We love the class and elegance that these built ins have added to our home.We have a long list of projects that we will be using JP Custom Carpentry for in the future.
Tommy P: Joe and John were great to work with. They are all about customer service and will do what's necessary to make sure it's done. We are very happy with their services and my wife LOVES the new tile bathroom floors! I would recommend them to everyone...
cath537: We hired Joe to do a laundry room remodel for us that involved essentially moving our washer and dryer from a small side room off our kitchen to a new room upstairs to be dedicated to laundry, but needing to be outfitted with W/D hookups/plumbing, flooring, electrical, and cabinets/counters for storage and folding space. With a baby on the way, we were both budget conscious and under some time constraints. Joe met our needs for our budget without sacrificing attention to detail or quality. And, although our project was small in comparison to many of the larger home remodels Joe often does, he always made us feel like our project was equally as important. He was able to start almost immediately and complete the project in a matter of weeks. In addition, Joe and his crew were hardly disruptive as they worked primarily while we were at work for the day and always cleaned up prior to leaving, although Joe kept us well informed with updates as things progressed. We are very pleased with the final product and would not hesitate to hire him again in the future.
Mike Otero: JP Custom Carpentry just recently finished a complete renovation on our recently purchased home in North Hills (Raleigh), NC. When we purchased the home we really liked the exterior and the location was unbelievable just next to North Hills Mall –but the home being build in the late 1960’s was really showing its age internally. We brought in four different contractors to come forward with ideas and price quotes – and after finalizing plans and pricing Joe came in at the best overall value for concept and money. At over 3,300 sq. feet – the complete renovation was a significant undertaking. We basically gutted every room and bathroom in the house. All bathroom vanities, wall removal, complete rewiring plumbing work, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, and floors. All the carpets were striped and the original hardwoods completely restored. Areas that did not have hardwoods were perfectly matched by Joe to the point you would never know they were not original. Joe did flawless work on the floors. I’m very picky on details and Joe hit the look perfectly. We also had a custom floor done in the foyer and kitchen from a concept we found on the Internet – and Joe was also 100% on this piece as well. It actually turned out better than we’d hoped and was better than the original concept. No doubt that Joe is an expert on the floors. We also gutted the entire kitchen with the exception of the original cabinets. Joe refinished them and added trims to make them look better than newly bought versions. The sunroom was refinished and is actually probably the nicest room in the house now. Overall the attention to detail was very good. I wish we would have had more time to finish some things differently, but I compressed the entire renovation to just over 2.5 months – so I tied Joe’s hands on some of the things that needed to be done. Joe was very flexible on the changes to the original scope, which was helpful to us – and Joe also came forward with ideas that he could do and prices along the way for things we’d not thought of on our own. Considering the entire price tag was just over 6 figures, the total overruns on items not changed by us were less than $5k – so he was pretty much right on with his initial estimate. The smaller overages were due to items like wiring changes and trims that could not be estimated properly due to being hidden from site at the time of quotation. Basically – no hidden costs that many contractors try to stick you with after the build starts. One of the most impressive pieces was that I was overseas during the entire process – so Joe was on the honor system for most of the process. Thankfully my mother-in-law was nearby to “drive” the process – and Joe’s staff treated her very well. Joe was 100% above board and very trustworthy. He delivered exactly what he said he would do. I had to leave back overseas before the final punch list was complete – but at this point about 99% is complete with a few small items remaining. I already paid all the money due and have no hold back and I’m not evenly slightly concerned that Joe won't come back and finish the small outstanding items remaining. He’s even agreed to repaint the garage floor damaged by the movers – when it was really not his issue. So, he’s willing to be flexible to ensure a happy client. I would recommend Joe to anyone in Raleigh looking for a solid trustworthy contractor that does what he’s says he’s going to do and finish the job in a complete and timely manner. I would definitely use Joe again if I had additional work – and would be happy to serve as a reference to Joe for any people interested in his services. Thank you JP Custom Carpentry! Mike and Kitty, North Hills (December 2013)
Jason Kogok: Joe has done several jobs for me. The last one he did was a very large project downtown that consisted of renovating a current home and adding on an addition to it. The scope of work was very large and nothing was missed! The budget came in on target and so did the timeline. Joe was very good with communicating with me throughout the project. I will certainly use him again.

WKS Wood Design: what do users think?
Dave Alligood: William is a brilliant craftsman. His woodworking skills are only surpassed by his vision!
M London: My experience with WKS Wood Design was such a Terrific Experience, I would Highly recommend them! Coming from out of state I was a bit hesitant about purchasing from the company. However, moments after meeting the owner, William, my concerns were dismissed. Once I saw the passion he has for wood, his craft and perfection I knew my items were in Great Hands. Both the entry table and Dining Table are beautiful, but the Dining Table has my character all over it. BRAVO Will for designing a Beaufort piece of Arywork!
Claire D'Aisle: Just look at this! While you can obviously see a beautifully, handcrafted table, these pictures could never adequately capture the soul of this magnificent tree that has been brought back to life by a clever, talented magician called William. He has transformed this poor, damaged piece of Mother Nature's best work into a fusion between the dark, quiet forest and the wild, restless, moody ocean. If only you could see this treasure in person. Words...photos...never will do this justice...this table must be experienced. If you are thinking of owning this type of piece, please come to the master. William is the tree whisperer. Each piece talks to him, guiding him to unlock the stunning beauty within. You will be in awe as you take this journey with William. He will listed to your ideas and make something so much better....better than you could ever imagine.
Marisa Shapiro: We had a custom bar top made and we could not be happier. It's beautiful. It truly is a piece of art. Not only that, they were willing to work with us so we didn't have to cut into the wood at all, creating a one of a kind custom piece. The process was wonderful and we are so happy with the result. I would recommend WKS Wood Design to anyone.
GK Harris: WKS Wood Design custom built a beautiful coffee table for our home. William the owner and creator of the most amazing pieces of furniture, made us a one-of-a-kind stunning coffee table. We just love the end result, and it will always be the focal point of our living room. It is not just a table it is a piece of art.
Mareth Babcock: My stand up desk was delivered this past week. What kind I say except that it is absolutely beautiful and more than I could have ever imagined. We met with William and told him my vision. He took what I thought I wanted and took the vision to a whole different level. William’s creativity and eye for his craftsmanship is like no other. He is so passionate about his work and makes sure to keep you informed during the process. My desk is a treasure and one that will be kept in the family forever. Thank you so much William for making a dream come true.
Jackie Maloney: As my husband and I were driving by William'sWKS WOOD DESIGN, we noticed a rather large, beautiful round slab of wood outside of the shop, and my husband shouted STOP !! After going inside and speaking with William and striking up an hour long conversation with this True Carpenter, we realized William's passion was contagious. My husband was truly inspired with William's depth of skill and love of each piece of wood in the shop, and it made Chris ask if he needed help with carrying or delivering any of his finished pieces. The rest is history! Their friendship was sparked and William's talents were now Chris' passion too. It's a pleasure seeing finished tables, custom bowls, cutting boards, end tables, chess boards and other one of a kind beauties William makes by hand. An Art that has gone by in time. We love the pieces that we have purchased and we're so happy to see all of the other amazing reviews. We highly recommend William's WKS Wood Design Shop and Live Edge Art to anyone with a passion for honest, meticulous, custom made woodworking by a true, talented woodworker. Thank You William for taking your time to show us what True Custom, Live Edge Wood Working is supposed to be! We'll see you again soon.
Bruce Baker: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessWe ordered a custom walnut and cherry cutting board and it is a stunning addition to our kitchen!! The owners care about the quality of their work and are a delight to work with.
Tara Burns: The pictures fall short of truly showing just how beautiful our table is. I had a very specific vision in mind that William was able to understand immediately. He spent a lot of time explaining the process and showing us his impressive work. Our live edge table is massive, yet sleek, at 8ft long and 53 in. at its widest point. The dark walnut, single slab, is full of dimension and character. It has become the statement piece of our home that sparks joy for us every time we walk in or sit down to enjoy a meal. William communicated throughout the whole process and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend bringing joy to your life too and having William design a functional work of art for your space.
Laura Leeson: We are so excited to add our entry table to our new home. William is wonderful to work with and so passionate about his craft. He took the time to show us all types of wood and the process he would be using to build our table. William listen to what we wanted and gave suggestions to create a beautiful table. Each piece of furniture is one of a kind and WE LOVE OURS! Thank you.
Roger Madison: OLD WORLD CRAFTSMANSHIP MEETS MODERN DESIGN: If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture look no further. From the first minute you meet William you will feel his intensity and dedication to his craft. He also has an intuitive feel for his customers and will bring you along on the artistic journey of creating your own heirloom piece of furniture. It is a real joy to visit his show room and see the organic nature of his work. We love the dining room table that he made for our beach house on Holden Beach. We wanted the piece to tie together the views of the ocean and sand, and he nailed it (the pictures really don't do it justice). Although he is very busy now, his reputation is certainly growing fast so there is no better time than now to get started, so go see for yourself - you won't regret it.
Jean Nash: We are really thrilled with our coffee table! Our entire experience was enjoyable. We came into the shop the first time and saw all of the beautiful work. William helped us select wood for our table. He communicated with us throughout the entire project and finished our table ahead of schedule. We returned to approve it and once more when the legs were on and it was ready to be picked up. He is a thoughtful artist and gets excited about his work!
Ted Queen: William has a true passion for his work that is evident in the amazing stories he tells about each piece he's done. Can't wait to see our shelves when they're done.
Todd Poole: William and Carolyn are awesome. They take the time and help you choose the piece that is best for you. William does a fantastic job explaining the process. We are so excited to see our finished product.

Jessica Clendenin: JHR made and installed custom cabinets around our fireplace and in our laundry room. They reached out to me within an hour of me filling out the form on their website. Within a week, we went to their showroom where they completely designed what we were looking for and gave us an estimate on the spot. They were extremely responsive throughout the whole process and very helpful with everything. We had a miscommunication with the company that was installing the countertop, and JHR identified the issue and saved us hundreds of dollars.
