Athene Noctua: My family has been a part of the Sun Yi's Tae Kwon Do family for years now. I have taken breaks in the past, but I always come back. The people have never been anything but friendly and welcoming to me.The instructors have always been amazing. They are masters at what they do and are skilled at teaching.The classes are well structured and quite a work out! I would recommend Sun Yi's Academy to anyone who's interested.

kevin bergeron: From the first day Mr Weinberger had myself and my 2 younger boys (11 & 12) engaged. We were immediately introduced to blocks, punches and kicks. Our class time flys bye. Whats great is the app has videos of everything we review so we can practice at home too. I was really impressed with how well he communicates with the students of all ages. The more experienced students are given the chance to take leadership. I already see the level of confidence in my boys elevated. We plan to be a member of this dojo for a long time.

maria praschma: Everything about Karate International of WR has exceeded our expectations! Truly. At first my daughter loved the idea of karate because of the outfit. I found an add on Facebook and thought, why not give it a shot to keep her active. I took advantage of the week trial. All the instructors there had such enthusiastic attitudes and high energy. The kids all come in with lots of energy and the instructors make it fun and encouraging. By the end of the class, the kids are walking out smiling and giggling after about an hour of working out! My daughter started to get tired before going to class after a long day at school, but as soon as she steps inside she is excited to learn a new technique. We are a month in now and I see such progress within herself. She’s looking forward to earning her next belt. Thank you to all the instructors, it’s been quite entertaining to watch you all with the kids.

Mehul Trivedi: These guys are awesome. They are dedicated and passionate about karate. You can tell from the moment you walk in and speak to any of the instructors. The head instructor is amazing and his enthusiasm carries into the kids at every class. My 6-year-old is upset if she misses the class and this is the only practice that she's want to go to lol. Skip of all of the accolades and lets get right to the experience.RIMA is located off of Six Forks in a well populated area. Parking is not a problem and its super safe around the location. The decor is edgy (typical gym look) but super clean. For this gym to be as busy as it is, its really neat and has a great smell too (little things like this matter to me). The service I receive during my visits is always stellar! The staff and trainers are world class team members who make the RIMA brand a success. I was lucky to connect with one of the trainers named John. He has a passion for the community and helping empower those who seek it.If you are interested and have some drawbacks, give them a try and check them out. They offer Free Private Intro classes! The staff and members are all so welcoming while the workouts are always progressive, and fun!

Cesar Jesus: Excellent location with amazing instructors. My 5 year old son has been going here now for a few months and we love it so far. We tried sports when he was 4 but he just wasn't ready for that yet. Taekwando has been the perfect way to begin his athletic experience.Especially for younger kids, it's a great way to establish discipline and self esteem at an early age, and they can then use those skills to pursue a lengthy martial arts path, or it can catapult them to other activities later on.My wife and I were so impressed that we have joined ourselves. Instead of just sitting around and playing on our phones like we use to, we now participate with our son, and also attend adult classes in the evening. It's really cool being able to enjoy the experience with him. Our daughter will begin the program as soon as she is old enough, and we hope to be in it for the long haul.You could not ask for better instructors than Glen Haase or Matt Barker. They do an excellent job of establishing rapport with the kids right off the bat, and you'd be surprised how well your misbehaving toddler will adapt in this type of atmosphere.The events are also a lot of fun and establish a sense of family/community with the other students and parents. If you are new to the area, not sure where to start with after school activities with your kids, or just looking to try something new, this is pretty tough to beat.

Gloria Tovar-Torres: This is my first experience learning self defense classes. Both instructors and students in this dojo are very kind. I feel like in familly. The instructors have a lot of patience and thus the most enjoyable and effective learning. A great advantage is that the class starts at 7:30 pm which gives us more time to arrive from our jobs. D Sanders: I originally came to train karate at the dojo. The karate sensei convinced me to try aikido there shortly afterwards. It was one of the best decisions I've made. The family atmosphere made it a perfect fit for me from the beginning. The instruction is of high quality, and all of the instructors are patient with the development of their students. I would highly recommend any individual and/or family to come try a class or two!
