It continued even after I told teacher.He is now facing emotional stress at 9 years old.My son is a quiet loving honor roll student. When he got in 3rd grade my husband and I notice his behavior started to change. He use to love going to school but, he started to make excuses to stay home. As a mother I started to get concerned. One day he came home and informed us that some boys in his class were calling him names everyday. He also told us that a boy continued to punch him. I told him to tell the teacher. Two days later my son came home almost in tears he told me that THREE boys had jumped him on the playground. I asked where was his teacher he said talking to the other teachers on playground. I was extremely upset. The next day I went to his teacher and informed her of the BULLYING.I was very polite and kind. She told me to she would have my son write down the kids name and next time Derian should come tell her. She basically blamed my son because he didn't tell her.She never followed up with me about what happened to the bullies.Two days later my son came home and informed me of the same boys punching him and calling him names. I already had a teacher conference set up where my husband and I was going to address the issue and his Math score that dropped 30 points.A day after the last incident I received a phone call from his teacher telling me my son was involved in another fight on the playground. The teacher said a boy asked to hold my sons airplane and my son said no so the boy just hit him in the face, than another boy accidentally hit him in the face as well.The day of the conference my husband asked my son who was some of the boys who where hitting him and calling him names at this point the teacher was not handling issue so my husband did what most caring parents would do.....My husband went up to one of the boys and said " don't hit my son again if you do I am going to talk to your parents and the principal " The boy who was bullying him told the teacher he threaten him. The teacher told the principal who by the way never speaks to us or even says hi as she walks past us pulled my husband to the side and told him she was going to report him for threatening kids. She also put her finger in his face while not allowing him to speak. I came to explain that he did not threaten any harm to the boy. We came to conference a little early we notice the teacher was not even in her classroom monitoring the children. We could see why he was getting physically abused because the teacher leaves the kids alone. After a yelling match in the hallway due to extreme frustration with this school we decided to remove our kids due to extreme bullying, disrespectful teachers, and low test scores. The teachers never did anything to stop the bullying. I talk to the teacher,my son informed teacher but for some reason it continued to happen. The teachers were rude to us so we were rude back. The teachers were calling my husband and I bad parents as we walked off.This school should hire a new principal and new teachers. My son has to change to a new school in the middle of the school year because his teacher never resolved the bullying he was going through everyday. She never notice his pain or eccentric behavior. The teacher did not care. The teacher was aware of the bullying. I wish I never put my son in such a terrible school with teachers who allow a innocent, sweet, smart kid go through such pain. My son is facing emotional stress due to the intense bullying he is only 9 years old.

There are 6-8 received daily via e-mail. I not only know what they eat for breakfast , lunch and snack but also how much. This is a great way to identify which foods are preferred and which have been tried for the first time. The variety is wonderful. Parents are updated when your child goes down for naptime and the duration. What book is being read that day and the lessons it conveys. Great fun activities like preschoolers going on trips to the library and pumpkin patches. Updates on in house daycare activities like Zumba, building things, science projects or playing dress up. Oh, and did I mention these are sprinkled with pictures of your little ones enjoying and expressing themselves. All of this provides excellent teaching and talking points to share with your children. All of the staff are warm and caring and give individualized attention to each child. Whether it be coaxing your little one to let go so you can scoot to work or your day’s activities, engaging your child on what they have on and building their self- esteem it adds up to creating well balanced children. There is an appropriate amount of structure provided while still letting kids be kids. If there are issues with your child, perhaps they did not “have their listening ears on that day” it’s all communicated so you can work with your child to foster their showing respect , embracing growth and development as a person. All of this makes La Petite a premier provider of daycare services.

The infant room is managed by great teachers who are constantly looking out for the best interest and safety of the children they are caring for. Having a child with food intolerances is worrysome for any parent. The LaPetite staff have cautiously and carefully questioned, as well as wanted to understand what foods were safe for our child. A huge relief on our part!! I would recommend LaPetite to anyone looking for a quality daycare facility in the Raleigh area.

The monthly Literacy Nights and special events like the book fair, pot-lucks, and holiday parties are a definite added bonus. The staff is very qualified and I am impressed with how many teachers here have masters degrees! Ms. Chandra and Ms. Vanessa do a fantastic job as the management team and are always helpful.

First she sends out an email saying how we don't need to quarantine yet but it is coming and then the next morning tell all of her teachers at carpool to get all the kids out the car and take the temperature at the door after their parents leave. What sense does that make and how are you keeping kids safe? I use to like this school but now I'm just thinking about taking my kids out.

Kelyse Raiyel: Hi! I went to this school k-8th grade. My entire experience was never the “best,” but one particular thing that happened will forever return a bad memory to my mind. Every quarter, I was on the Honor Roll. Whether I had all A’s or A’s and B’s. Never in my life had I gotten a C. When I was in 8th grade, I took 10th grade math. For the first three quarters, I had an A in that class and in the fourth quarter, I ended off with a B. I was so excited to walk across the stage at my 8th grade graduation for making Honor Roll, in front of my family, friends, teachers, and anyone who had doubted my academic ability. When my name was not called for neither A or A/B Honor Roll, I was extremely confused, but most of all, extremely embarrassed. After the ceremony, I approached my dean and my principal about me not being called for Honor Roll. I was told that I had a C in math. After pulling up my final grade and even emailing my teacher for clarification, I was able to prove that I indeed ended with a B. However, none of the faculty took it upon themselves to correct the grade on my record, nor did they even seem to care that the incorrect grade on my record bothered me. Since I had a “C,” I was no longer considered an “academic achiever” at RTCA and was not acknowledged for the hard work that I put in from the age of 5 until the age of 14. Middle school grades may not seem like a big deal and I’m sure that, as I get older, I will begin to care less about how that situation was handled. Though, never will I ever not be hurt about it. The embarrassment that I felt when my classmates asked me why my name was not called will never go away. The embarrassment that I felt when my family got to see some of my classmates be titled “academic achievers” and not me, will never go away. Most of all, the lowering of my self-esteem and the pain that I feel from the staff who “cared about me” not helping me, will never go away. I am now in the 11th grade and I have to deal with knowing that the full auditorium of people that were at my 8th grade graduation will never know how hard working of a scholar I really am.

As others have experienced, I was under the impression this school was a very good setting and opportunity compared to public school but unfortunately my nephew has experienced such a lackadaisical response from teachers and administration that it has required my sister to begin to listen in to his class time to ensure he is being talked to and treated fairly. IEPs are not taken seriously and, especially during COVID, have been left up to my sister to make sure its followed by the school. I understand COVID caught everyone off guard, but the educational needs of child should not be ignored nor "shortchanged" due to a school being unprepared after months of being virtual. Communication efforts are less than acceptable as misinformation comes out all of the time. I can ONLY image what would happen if my nephew was in class where we could not see what was happening daily. Changes are needed, IMMEDIATELY!

As a parent of a five year that was inappropriately touched last week at this school, today marks a week, that nothing has been done to rectify this situation. I would not recommend this school to anyone. The lack of proactiveness that surrounds serious incident is mortifying. Parents please be aware. If it happened to my child it can happen to yours.

Darriel Holman: I am very disappointed and upset of the new staff at RTCA especially for grades 3-5. This school has an all new high of bullying and now instead of following an appropriate protocol to resolve the issue they are now avoiding it and being unsupportive towards those students who are getting bullied, in fact they will force that child not to tell or simply ignore the bullying causing children to be in a disruptive and stressful environment. I will never recommend this school to no one and I am so glad my children no longer goes here.

Alisha Williams: Mi hija aceptó un puesto como estudiante de kínder en RTCA solo porque aún no había ganado un puesto de lotería en nuestra escuela magnet de primera elección. Mire, tenía dudas en el momento en que nos reunimos para evaluar a nuestros hijos en mayo o junio, no recuerdo, pero la escuela aún no había terminado para el verano.
