Eric Flood: Harms student borrowers under the guise of incompetence. Avoid if you can - you'll pay for it if you don't. CNFNC is predatory, slow, poorly-staffed, overly-complicated in an attempt to eek more from borrowers. While other loan holders halted interest and repayments during COVID, CFNC did not. However, they failed to alert me (they claim to have mailed a notice to an outdated address) and charged a heavy back-payment rate. I immediately paid off my full loan with them, but not before they dinged my credit rating. This place is useless.
Izzy Borgmeyer: Customer service is terrible. Rude and incompetent.
Reginald Griffin: DO NOT USE THEM. THEY ARE PREDATORY. IF YOU HAVE LOANS THROUGH THEM, CONSOLIDATE AND GET IT FROM UNDER THEM ASAP. ALSO, IF YOU LOOK AT THE REVIEWS, THEY MOSTLY RESPOND TO ONLY POSITIVE REVIEWS. IT'S TRASH. ONE OF THE FEW COMPANIES THAT DIDNT PAUSE PAYMENTS DURING THE PANDEMIC. WHY? THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT GETTING MONEY OUT OF YOU.
Olivia Fong: This place should be shut down. They have the most incompetent people working here that I have ever talked to in my history of dealing with loans and helping people with their budgets. I have called with my client 3 times and each time we got a person that I'm sure didn't have enough education to be answering the phone. My client has over $2000 of extra payments he had made and they had applied them incorrectly and could not explain even HOW they applied them. Again, called multiple times, spoke to multiple people - everyone very irritated because I kept asking one simple question and they could not answer or even understand it. If you cannot tell me how you apply extra payments, I don't even know how to deal with these folks. On top of that, because we have Biden as president, God help us, the rates HAVE DOUBLED. He was told years ago the rate was fixed but no more 3%....now over 7% because of our terrible economy and a dishonest college loan foundation!!!
Dee Faulkner: I worked with a young lady named LaTracey. I am grateful that Ms. LaTracey remained very professional and encouraging throughout my issues with my loan. She was encouraging and did what she could to get me on the right path again. She even gave me her extention to call back so she could verify that all of my documents were in order. This is what we need to see as human. She had no clue what I was going through but her kind words, professionalism and action reminded me there are still good people in this world. I'm grateful.
Dea Watkins: I have been paid off for months now and every month I get a notice that I am late. I login and see a 13 cents charge pay it or I call and when I call I am told I’m all paid off. Why am i getting hit on my credit score?

Toyin Ajose: Just spoke with Ms. Linda about my student loans. I haven't been in North Carolina in over 20 years, and this amazing woman just gave me a reminder of the wonderful southern hospitality I haven't experienced in a long time! She was so kind, pleasant, knowledgeable, patient and helpful on the phone. I never felt like I was just a number or "customer x." She asked how I was doing, took the time to share some really helpful resources with me and genuinely brightened my day. Linda is a phenomenal representative of this organization. I really hope they recognize and appreciate employees like her!
Rachel Teslenko: I recently moved my 529 account to CFNC from another state and the biggest shortcoming is in navigating this website. It is not user friendly in general, but also some restrictions can cause unintentional results. Changing investment options is allowed only twice a year which is common. However, this applies to existing and future deposits, and if you change one and not change the other, you have used up your change option for both. Furthermore, you don't get a confirmation of what you selected for review and confirmation before it becomes irreversible!
Jason Todd: Don’t get a loan from them. Horrible customer service. No empathy. Just evil people. Don’t go to college. It’s a scam and useless. Called to check a status on my application. One of the most unpleasant experiences ever.
Leslie Myers: Just so everyone knows this is a “private” lender. They sure didn’t say that up front so you will not qualify for any of the loan forgiveness program.
cher foxx: I was very impressed with the valuable customer service I received from the College Foundation representative (Tawana Bruce). She was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. She stayed on the phone with me until I was able to log-in. She reassured me that she would help me bring my account current. I really appreciated her kindness.
