Jordan Rink: 1 star: I placed a "fully refundable" deposit on a vehicle for a day until I could get over there to look at it. SUV was in pretty rough shape and had mechanical issues, waiting for repairs, so it wasn't even drivable. Asked for my deposit to be refunded and they said it would be. Credit card statement came and it was never refunded. I've been calling and emailing for over a week trying to get someone to process the refund but so far no luck.Update: Revised to 4 stars. Refund was processed quickly shortly after this was posted. Overall most staff were responsive and helpful.

Jennifer Ballesteros: Purchased a 2014 Honda Civic on May 22nd . The first day we already had issues with locking the door and saw that the back door on the right wasn’t opening. We reached out to our salesman Rob about it and he told us to schedule a service appointment, which we did. The appointment was scheduled for Saturday the May 27th, when me and my fiance got there, we were waiting for an HOUR. One of the service guys sits down and tells us “sorry to tell you but they put the wrong door in your car, you will need to come back since we need to order this part” after being told that we waited WEEKS just recently Saturday June 24th they fixed the door. Three days later after this I’m having trouble turning on my car I stopped at autozone to see if there is any issues and they told me i need to get a new car starter. My fiance reaches out to someone at services yesterday (June 28th) and they tell him oh sorry warranty expired. My warranty expired 5 days ago. I’m sure there is someone that can help me!!! Pleaseee! I should of known from the start not to have purchased the car in the first place especially with all the red flags now they don’t want to help me out meanwhile I recently got the door fixed b/c someone decided to put the wrong door part in the car. I’m honestly so dissapointed. I was honestly considering getting another car here but now with these issues i’m having with the car I would rather not.

The salesperson (shout-out to Nan) was extremely communicative and personable and made sure I was supported each step of the way. The finance and administrative team had the out-of-state process down and delivered plates and registration faster than buying in-state! Not every dealership has this process down. I also appreciate them leaning in to make sure the transportation company arrived and picked up the vehicle for delivery even if it meant they stayed a little longer to greet the driver.If you're a local buyer, drop in and have a chat. Ask for Nan, undoubtedly it'll be a great experience. Car buying shouldn't feel like a chore and I'm confident these folks (and the Mini brand) won't let you down.

The repair estimate was so confusing and it included more than 3k worth of recommended repairs. My wife and I talked and agreed to repair the fuel pump which they said would solved her immediate issue. The cost of repair as well as a $219 diagnostic fee. Here's where they got really creative. They then charged my wife an additional diagnostic fee because she said sometimes she smells engine coolant after a long trip. Another $219. with a repair estimate that I'm still confused about totaling over $1k. They then sold her what they called a needed 80k service that included an oil change totaling $698. When I go to pick up my wife's vehicle they looked surprised to see me and quickly directed me to a cashier to explain the bill. The bill had ballooned to almost $1900. The cashier struggled to explain and she quickly called for assistance from Eric the service advisor. When I questioned him about the bill he failed to give me a plausible reason as to how/why the bill was so high and said my wife had approved the repairs. I called and put her on speaker phone and she said she had only ok'd a verbal repair estimate of $1100. So, they told her verbally one thing and emailed her a bill later for almost $1900. She took the advisor at his word and never opened the email until I called her. I attempted to express my displeasure with the advisor and he was visibly irritated but he did his best to control his emotions. When I asked him a simple question of how can you charge a $219 diagnostic fee and then also charge $698 for 80k Service he acted like he didn't understand the point I was trying to make. The 80k Service is designed to detect potential costly repairs and I knew this. I suspect he did as well... I paid my bill and I politely told Eric that I was dissatisfied with this visit, and another Service Advisor interjected. This advisor seemed to be in some type of supervisory position, So he began to condescendingly demand that I email him the bill so he could show me how wrong I was. Communication was tedious and excruciating (via text--the only option as the online chat wasn't working and I would not have been so "patient" on a phone call). After a while I received a text that the truck was ready and what would be a good time for me to come down for a test drive. I texted I'd be down at 4pm that day. After another long wait for a response they texted that 4 would be "perfect".When I showed up Teresa helped me (and she was great--she had me in the truck for my test drive within 20 minutes), but she showed me that they put me down for 4:30 instead of 4. Just another folly in a whole bunch of follies. Even if I ended up wanting to buy the truck I wouldn't have been able to do it at that point until Monday as my pre-approved loan was through a credit union that Carmax doesn't work directly with and my loan officer was already done for the week and I'm sure Carmax wouldn't be able to beat the rate I had--at that point matching wasn't going to be enough after all the waiting. Throughout this whole process I never got the feeling that Carmax was eager to sell and with the exception of Teresa I never felt like a valued customer (5 stars for Teresa-- two stars for CM.
