RealPersonal ReviewsRaleigh: Free adoptions right now. They are overwhelmed with animals and waived all fees for our naughty run away puppy. Its apparent that everyone on staff loves animals. Our dog almost seemed sad to be leaving his new friends. They do anything possible to avoid euthanizing lost pets and surrendered animals. You can surrender your pets here and animals get great vet care even if they are only visiting for a short time.

Kimberly Gilmartin: The Director of the Wake County Animal Center, Dr. Jennifer Federico, has dedicated her entire life to helping animals. She has turned the shelter around from where it was and has weeded out adoption/rescue agencies who do not properly care for the animals. All her personal animals are rescues who are nothing shy of loving, fun, athletic animals. Most of her dogs are good citizen canines and blood donors. They are amazing with children and people of all ages. For anyone that speaks negatively against Wake County Animal Center, the Director or the staff, clearly does not know anything about them or they are one of the agencies banned from working with the shelter. Dr. Federico, you are doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work.
EMS Life: I adopted my first cat from here and the customer service is amazing and I highly recommend adopting from here if you are interested in adopting an animal that they house.
Katherine: I unfortunately had to visit because I had found a dog that was not microchipped and with no collar. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it was obvious how much they cared. Working with animals is not always a fun or easy job. But it's nice when the workers don't take it out on those trying to help.
