Sheldon Scott: I'm a 100% disabled veteran. They sent me a bill when they were supposed to bill the VA. The total of the bill was under $250 I made a 50 payment and I told to call me next month to make another payment. But after I made the payment the total didn't go down. They trying to rob me.
Sabrina Miller: I understand I called on a holiday, which would’ve been okay if your representative wasn’t so rude and cutting me off every 2 seconds. I couldn’t explain my issue before “I’m not gonna tell you again I can’t help you cause it’s a holiday” kept coming out of his mouth. We deal with such a cruel world now when I call my doctors office I get to deal with cruel people. Let’s get it together. Ridiculous
Cristina Cervetto: Had the worst experience at the emergency room. They are disorganized l, nobody knows what is going on with your care as there are contradictory in both your chart and the medical personnel. Terrible patient care and total lack of bedside manners specially from the doctor.
john farmer: Back surgery but was treated good.
Kayla Lunduski: Overall, great. Thank you for everything - the whole team I’ve had.
Ashley Bush: I had the best treatment and experience one could have at a hospital. Dr. Shah made me feel like a person and not a number. All the nurses were so kind. Nick, Keila, etc. 10/10 recommend that emergency room!
Brent & Christine: I waited almost one calendar year to write my review.Dr. Grossi saved my life and livelihood with a spine surgery, I would recommend him as a doctor because he’s the only person in this joke of a medical system that would do my surgery….BUT I would not recommend the hospital at all. I would especially not recommend the ER with the little big man behind the desk that imposes his will and threatens to call security on everyone that comes in the door. He also actively prevents patients from laying down (there is nowhere to lay down, so much for ADA compliance in this ER). I was in full sciatic stroke and he was trying to call security on me for trying to lay flat in a desperate attempt to get my 10/10 pain to ease. He needs to be fired and someone with some actual human feelings and hospitality needs to be hired in his place.
Sheila Burke: This is a horrible hospital that disregarded patient's wellbeing and safety
Laura Molina: Brought my mother here, very rude staff, races nurse Leo in the emergency room, yelled at my mother! And a couple racial comments, towards my mother! When she got moved up stairs and she would ask for help they would take, 30 minutes or more just come help her!!!! Never again taking her to Wake Med
Wenona Young: They taking down reviews that say this hospital is no good!!Duke is the worse hospitals!!!They emergency room will not treat you unless you are near death .They admitted this too meAnd this skinny blonde nurse that works at night is very sorry and she seems very racist.
ETB 814: Forced to pre-pay before a surgery (even with a Great PPO plan), and 5 months later, the billing is still unresolved. The repetitious response? Give it another 30 days. Having lived throughout the U.S., Duke Health is by far the single worst health system I’ve ever dealt with. Embarrassingly slow responses, and zero customer-centric focus…just finger pointing and a subtle “too bad” attitude.
Thomas Moorman: Imaging team is outstanding. Great experience from ease of parking to E-Check-in to CT scan!
Martin Brossman: Went to visit a friend here on a Saturday and seems to have free parking and then you must walk around to the front. Or fully check in staff with civil.
Jason Day: Security measures are so extra. They keep adding in things to do just to make you jump through hoops for no reason.
Q W.: I went in on valentines day to their ER. The Dr. L. Conger didn't check my urine or blood and just assumed my diagnosis. The nurse wanted to do tests but he just said I was fine and they threw away my urine. Turns out I had a UTI for over a month! They sent me home with stomach medications -.- They didn't work. I AM still really sick bc of the lack of care by Dr. Conger I needed antibiotics. I went to WakeMed today and received blood and urine tests which showed the infection. Dr Conger needs to do tests, everytime SIR. You just guessed, literally only looked inside my mouth. Tests make an educated guess. I'd hope the Doctors employed by Duke would order routine tests for every sick ER patient. -- Turns out other people are complaining about lack of care by Dr. L. Conger in the reviews. I contacted the NC Division of Health Service Regulations and filed a patient complaint. The Duke contact webpage has a link, or you can Google if you've also received neglectful care from Duke ER.
Joe Davis: Wife had her jewelry stolen after procedure and when we contacted them about it, we were told this happens all the time. That doesn't make it okay. That makes it worse. I would not recommend coming here for anything. Stuff will go missing clearly and they will not care.
Sparkle Mosby: After a very unpleasant & unfortunate experience with another local hospital who shall remain nameless(they aren't even worth mentioning) my daughter and I came to Duke Raleigh. It was late at night & I understand most of the staff were tired but the Dr & nurse who took care of my daughter were very thorough, compassionate & empathetic. Their names escape me right now but I will never forget their faces or what they've done to make my daughter feel comfortable & to give her a proper diagnosis. Emergency Rooms can be hit or miss sometimes but this is the 2nd time I had to use Duke Raleigh and they pleased me everytime. If I need emergency care again, Duke Raleigh will be my first choice.
cierra callahan: honestly yesterday was my first time at that hospital and it was insane. I had got there and waited for 4 hours to finally get seen, they would not give me water even tho i already had my iv fluids go inside me. some of the nurses were very very rude to me. One incident was, i had two nurses in one room and i asked one of them if i can unplug the annoying beeping bed and she confirmed, 2 hours later im having the worst pain and the other nurse comes in and has a very bad attitude with me about the bed...i told her the other nurse told me it was okay but she was being so rude to me and made the main priority the bed when i was in visible pain When i started to cry she told me to stop and said "we don't do that here". It seems like nobody here likes their job and takes it out on their patients. get rid of rude staff thanks.
T Robinski: It really is a wildly rude environment, disdainful toward families with children, not where you want your family member to be stuck, even for elective surgery. Stay away. WakeMed or Duke Durham is much preferred. Illogical "covid" policies is absolutely correct.Side note- I also overheard an obviously frail and disabled elderly woman telling the staff at the front desk that she was feeling threatened and afraid of the female security guard that was posting up on her and speaking agressively when she walked in. The staff members response was "oh that's just how she stands". So there you go, that's our new standard of care. "We do what we want, no matter how it makes you feel. And you deal with it. Your feelings are not valid" is the entire vibe.
Levin Traver: was brought in by ambulance for gunshot wound. was not given anti biotics once the day and a half i was there. when i asked for a prescription at discharge i was given a lie about not needing them.my wound was not dressed and it also was still full of debree from an object that had been in front of me. also not ince did they pack my wound or even tell me that i would need to to avoid serious infection.needless to say my wound became very infected and i took myself to a different hospital that actually cared about moderately cared for my well being.
Kim Bayles: Our mom was there for 11 days and everyone was so nice and helpful. She had amazing nurses and cna’s through her whole stay in ICU to PICU.

catty cox: Dra. Marcela WILLIS GRAY. ¡TÚ MOLAS! Has renovado mi fe en tu instalación. Me siento liberado. Y liberado.
No reciben suficiente reconocimiento.
Rubrick Perez: The slowest rapid response I've ever experienced in my 12 years experience of working in a hospital. Nurses are slow to react in a patient's critical condition same with the so-called rapid response team. It took them almost an hour to finally give a lopressor to my dad whose HR was 136 and BP was already 169/117. HFNC was only given when the patient's O2 sat dropped to 60 eventhough I was already asking for it since the very start my father was having difficulty breathing and literally gasping for air and begging for oxygen. They are swifter to call security on me and fill the floor with security personnel when I was only trying to call their attention as my father's vitals are off and nobody was coming inside the room to respond to the call RAPIDLY. This happened June 11, 2023. Same thing happened with my brother last night, June 14, when he was assigned to look after our dad. It took them more than 30 minutes before coming to the room and assess our dad. Their reason was they were reaching out and trying to get a hold of the doctor to take some orders before going to the patient's room when they're supposed to be in the patient's room and can make that call while evaluating the condition of the patient. Why are they SO SLOW when they're supposed to be responding RAPIDLY? Isn't it why they are called Rapid Response Team in that they are expected to respond rapidly in an emergent critical condition or situation? What are they waiting for? Are they only gonna act when the patient has already died? Why are they not acting proactively? Most nurses are not nice. They don't know how to empathize. Why don't they try even for once to put their feet on our shoes, much so to the patient's shoes so they would feel how we feel? Now I understand why your overall rating is only 3.1. It makes sense to me but there is still room to change and improve. Try doing this, provide GENUINE care and love. Empathize and put yourselves in the patient's and family's situation. Honestly, I would give you a rating of -2.
Carolina Girl: Horrible place to work, worst job I've had in 12 years. Only nice thing about this place is the scenery.
Bird Tus: I have gone to this facility for a few years and it just sucks every time. The receptionists are very rude and are absolutely no help with simple issues. The doctors care more about giving you pills for the money than actually providing reasonable care.
Danette Scott: Had an outpatient procedure. They were fantastic from check in to check out. The team there worked together and everything ran like clockwork. I did not have a single negative experience. Cannot say enough good things about this place and the Dr.
Candace Williams: Great hospital! They took good care of us during my last pregnancy. Now we have a 2 month health, baby girl! Thank you for taking care of us!
Sue Moody: Rex isnt about them, it’s about you! When wandering the hall late at night to find the cafeteria and a staff members asks if he can help my confused expression, he walked me around a few corners until I could see the sign; the nutrition lady brought in the patient tray and then pleasantly asked if there was anything else she could do for the patient or family member; to a person (even doctors LOL) each person we interacted with was all about taking CARE of the patient and the family member. PLUS the medical care is something you can immediately TRUST. Thank you UNC Rex Heart!
Joe Johnson: Worst experience ever left in waiting room forever with a million sick people
Adrienne Berry: My 91 year old mother is currently in the ED. She is having a second urine sample done because the first one was contaminated by the initial - crossed with another patient's urine sample according to the nurse. Now the nurse is threatening to catherize her so that she can provide a second sample.I think we may just leave and go home.We will go to Wake Med or Duke the next time.
Kristin Matthews: Rex hospital is not as good as it used to be. They have gone downhill with their ability to provide good care, especially when it pertains to dealing with geriatric patients. My 85 year old father was in for severe septic shock. They did do a good job treating him and helping him to recover; however, there was no communication to family and his discharge was a giant cluster. I found out he was being discharged when the pharmacy needed money for one of his discharge medicines. The “care manager” leave a lot to be desired. They should be verifying a patient’s home needs with family and notifying them of updates about discharge. I am very disappointed and at this point would not recommend using Rex.
Raghava varma: Had a pleasant overall experience, when we visited for my wife’s surgery. Nurses (in our case) were polite and friendly. The procedure was smooth and doctor informed me right after surgery about my wife’s situation.I thank Dr.Inge for taking care of the procedure carefully and the nurses for their support and care. I would recommend this hospital. But I would strictly not recommend unc rex emergency unit. That place needs some help either with man power or values.
Allen Cooke: Wonderful care and great doctors!
Dessie Clark: First time being seen in ED at Rex. Never had such a good experience. Seen immediately. All staff very knowledgeable and pleasant and concerned for my issue. I can’t say enough great things about them. Highly recommend.

Angela Hughes: the most unprofessional and rude nurses I have ever come across
Lena Poole: Came to the ER for the first time, this one is no different than the one on new Bern been here damn near all night still haven't been seen. #Annoyedand irritatedbeyondbelief.
Johnna Martin: I was having bad stomach pains and went to the emergency room at Wake Med. My experience was UNBELIEVABLY FANTASTIC!!The staff from starting at check in and all the way to being released was amazing. The staff at this hospital is AMAZING!!!5 stars!!
Brent Dugan: I can't express how wonderful a potentially bad visit to the ER was. The staff at WakeMed North Hospital ER were nothing but friendly, courteous, respectful, and humorous! From entering the ER lobby, dreading a possible appendectomy and being greeted by [Intake Care Rep] Max, to thanking him as I left several hours later, every staff member I encountered was friendly, courteous, and respectful. Dr. Bernard, Nurse Joanne, Nurse Vince, and others were awesome!I hope to never visit an ER again, but if I do, I'll try to make it to the WakeMed North Hospital ER!
sandy m: Never answer the phone and when you leave a message they never call back
Matt Sharpe: Just had our first baby here and the staff have been phenomenal. So compassionate, knowledgeable, attentive, etc. The lactation consultants have been so helpful in understanding our options and explaining the physiology behind different methods. The facilities are clean and modern. Parking is super easy, no big parking decks. This was one of the hardest things we've done together and the staff made it so much more manageable.
Eliecer Gonzalez: I recently visited Waked with my brother who has respiratory problems. While the receptionist asked standard questions, I felt that she took a long time to do so and did not seem very empathetic towards our situation. When I offered to answer the questions myself, she seemed dismissive of my concerns. It would have been helpful if the receptionist had taken our situation more seriously and been more responsive to our needs. I hope that in the future, Waked can provide better training to their staff to ensure that every customer is treated with respect and compassion. The security personnel asked my brother to put on a mask. My brother explained that he was having difficulty breathing and was unable to wear a mask. We then went to the receptionist to let her know that we would have to leave because the security was asking for a mask. However, we noticed that the receptionist and another person sitting nearby were not wearing masks either. This was concerning for us as we were trying to take all necessary precautions to protect ourselves and others. We hope that in the future, Waked can ensure that all their staff members follow the safety protocols that they demand on customers and take the necessary steps to keep their customers safe.Worst receptionist ever!!! Never coming back.
Bob James: Staff worked quickly and were super friendly.
Lexie Burns: My friend came into the ER complaining that she has a burning in her chest, difficulty breathing and a few more things. All they told her was along the lines of ‘youve been diagnosed with anxiety which explains this. That and the fact you’re fat’. Ignored her when her iv started to bleed and when her stomach started hurting. Her Dr. Talked to her twice in the 3 days she was there… 10min max. She requested that some tests be done since this has been ongoing for 2 months now, which as the patient she has a right to request tests. They refused. BP while sitting was 110/80, pulse was 90, while sleeping the chart showed higher rates. She was completely ignored and just told over and over again that it was just her anxiety nothing more. Oh and this morning was vomiting with blood. Only prescribed pain led that she never received and they sent her home. They clearly didn’t have the patient’s health in mind at all during this trip.
blah blah blah karen: Las mejores enfermeras ❤️
Kelly Stuchbury: . If a bad/busy day, you’ll probably wait three hours to get an X-ray and another 3 to get the results.(Traducido por Google
Amanda Blackwood: I was having blurry vision in left eye and chest pressure. My primary care doctor suggested I go to ER. I have multiple heart issues and leukemia. I was advised to stay overnight to do more test and be seen by a neurologist. I stayed from noon on March 12 and we left around 6:30pm on March 13. I had multiple tests done (chest heart X-ray, mri, ct scans and blood work). After being told multiple times the neurologist would come to discuss my results we were finally told they wouldn’t come to see us and it would be a doctor on staff. We left. Most of the nurses were nice and professional but we kept getting the run around about receiving results from a doctor. One nurse took out our iv and we walked out. With no discharge papers. Very discouraging.
Patrick: One of the worst Hospitals in the area. Staff is under-qualified the surgeons are absolute ego monsters who disrespect their staff. Management is clueless on how to run their own departments and resort to lying to patients and staff rather than being accountable for their actions. Avoid this place like the plague patients and potential emoloyees. Go somewhere else it is just not worth it to work for or be a patient of Wake Med. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible.
Susan Aceti: Mummsy is home❣️. She had a total left hip replacement Monday. Mum worked so hard to stand, walk, and do the stairs. She was brought home via Ambulance right into her house. PT will be coming to her house and mine to do her PT at home. She is my Hero😍 We love Dr Rion from Ortho NC and he operates at Wake Med North. Mum got her right hip done in 2021 there and it was a 5 Star experience. This year it was a bit different as we were told there was no suite for Mum post-op. The nurses told her pre-op, so she went into surgery with that concern. She was in tears. We stayed in the PACU that night, Mum was not monitored even though she was coded for telemetry. She should have been in a suite with a heart monitor. I filed a concern and CA was with me in 10 minutes. We found a solution for the night and we were in a suite the next day. Mum was in the best care with telemetry. OT and PT were outstanding. Our Nurses amazing. Mum and I love Wake Med North. My complaint? The director called Mum and I personally to clarify and address our concerns. Go to Wake Med North, they have a huge heart for patient care.

Charleen Evans: Kristen, the mammogram technician, is the best! This is usually an uncomfortable procedure but she is always very sweet, kind & professional. Her goal is to make your appointment as comfortable as possible!
Chester Raybon: Very experienced staff. Nice and welcoming.Very professional.
Kiosha Griffin: My son had a Urology appointment with Dr. Ajaydeep for a penile injury. The visit only lasted about 15 minutes and there wasn’t a thorough examination done. My son was sent away with the same pain a month later and Dr. Ajaydeep told my son nothing was wrong. How do you know there’s nothing wrong if you don’t take a closer look. Or is because my son receives Medicaid. What will it take for my son to get a thorough exam? This place is a joke. I wouldn’t refer nor recommend
Kiyana Smith: They are awesome very kind. The lab works fast never had problems with nothing there. Fantastic job!
Ken Dawson: My dad's ct scan was easy to schedule and even easier to get done on the day of.
L S: It took 17 minutes to register in Ste. 110. Ridiculous. Now, I'm waiting again for the actual appointment to begin.
Nicolina Newman: The lab is fantastic! My 7 year old daughter has to get her blood drawn every 4-6 months. They are great!
Risa Schluchter: Quick & efficient staff

Sean Boyle: Cheats and thieves. Avoid them at all costs.
Eli Rubio: Best children’s hospital
Molly Keshawarz: Amazing staff! Quick to be seen. Treated my daughter with kindness.
John Martini: Great experience for a very scary time in my son's life. Made us feel safe, secure and cared for.
Kirsten Kall: Highly upset the way Wake Med Children’s Hospital has gotten. Nurses are super nice and love the kids. One doctor that was VERY unprofessional her name was Allison Levi. She was unprofessional in every way. She didn’t once talk to my 3 year old. She acted as if she didn’t want to do her job. My daughter had to get a staple in her head from a gash in her head. Her father, myself and ambulance lady said the gash didn’t need but maybe liquid stitches. Well this doctor rather put a baby in more pain than a 3 year old should go through. Ambulance lady said she didn’t need staples. The doctor in and said she was doing a staple because it started to bleed again, we said no can’t you do a liquid stitch and she said no im doing a staple. I said no, the lady in the ambulance said she didn’t need one. She come back in with the staple gun. Had a nurse grab my daughters head, pushed the staple gun to her head, that staple didn’t go through, so she pushed her head down again and put a staple in. After I her mom said No staples! She was very rude, didn’t talk my daughter through what was going on or nothing. Once she done she left. My daughter got it out 5 days later, her pediatrician office couldn’t get the staple out because it was looped into her head and they didn’t have the right tools to get it out. So my daughter was sent to the emergency room, after 4 hours they finally got it out. Doctors and nurses said they have never seen anything like this before. We will be getting a lawyer and she will be sued for my daughters pain!!
Shatyra Barnes: Words can’t explain the JOY I received from this place. I am sooo sooo thankful! You guys saved my daughter. I appreciate the TEAM!!! So many good staff members. W en are still here and I just want to say thank you guys for the best experience ever. We live an hour away & I thank God for all of you.
Holly Mitchell: From the amazing transport staff to the second we got here, we have been nothing but cared for my son every minute! As soon as we arrived, there was a whole “pit crew” waiting for him to get him ready; talk to me, and prepare us for his stay. The nurses and doctor were all here IMMEDIATELY. They had a binder for me to educate me on what was going on whit my son and an iPad ready with informative videos to help me on the journey. Every nurse has been very caring, nurturing, knowledgeable, and patient. They have explained everything they have been doing each time and why, as well as what they are looking for each time the labs come back. They have set goals for my son and shared the results and a timely manner, I don’t feel left in the dark at all. They have made sure I have had a meal, a place to sleep, blankets and pillows. Not once’s have they made me feel like I have anything to worry about besides my son. Never have I ever had such amazing service. I know my son is in the best hands and that they KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. He is getting better and I don’t am not made to feel like I am putting anyone out by asking questions. It seems like people really like their job as well. So extremely pleased my son is taking care of here!
Tamara Johnson: Prior to coming to WakeMed Children’s Hospital, I took my daughter to a local doctor regarding an ear infection & was prescribed meds for her to take. After 4 days without any improvement, I drove 1 hour and 15 minutes to take my daughter to WakeMed Children’s Hospital as my child continuously complained about her ear hurting. We arrived around 4:45 PM and only waited approximately 5-10 minutes before being called to the back. The doctor was able to verify that my daughter had an ear infection and provided education on the meds that were previously prescribed by the local doctor which was classified as a steroid and ineffective for treating an ear infection. The doctor prescribed my daughter the proper antibiotic and pain meds to help clear up her ear infection. The hospital provided my child with amazing care AND they had great patience with her as my daughter was a tad bit uncooperative, crying, and screaming. I am pleased with the services, care, education, and professionalism provided. I’m glad I made the trip to this hospital.
Luis Soto: If I could, I give this place NO STARS. From the time you check in to the time you’re seen is almost 3 hours. I came in with my son having a 104.6 fever and wasn’t seen for almost more than 2 hours. People who were coming in after my son and I, were being seen before us. The hospital must be understaffed or overworked (which I understand) but patients should be seen in the order they’ve come in (unless an emergency) My opinion, I hate this hospital.
Philippe Bulauitan: I took my child for care at WakeMed Children's Hospital and was appreciative of the care. However, upon receiving my bill for services, the price breakdown is absolutely outrageous. $50 for a dose of benadryl, $17 for a dose of ibuprofen, $275 for an antibiotic that costs dollars, $80 for a u/a that costs $8, $137 for a urine culture that costs $20, $1000 for an u/s that costs $200! I contacted billing/customer service and they could not explain to me the rational behind this. No transparency at all.
deanna wilson: ¡Muy lentos y no tienen ninguna urgencia!
Ashley Hamilton: fell while he was playing and injured his tooth. This happened just before bath and bed time (around 8:00 pm
Cecilia Hernandez: lacks so much compassion when it comes to patients in desperate need. When I decided to leave the waiting room I thought about going back to give her a piece of my mind but decided my daughter is 100x more important than anything. I do hope that "nurse" finds her true calling because working with patients is not it for her!(Traducido por Google
Hannah Collins: Ive taken my 2 year old here 3 times and they never diagnose anything. They just look at him and say “yeah it’s this”. He had what looked like chicken pox and they said it was hand foot and mouth when he had that a month earlier and he was very ill and needed help. They said a “viral skin issue” and fixed nothing. They never listen to my concerns. They jump to one thing and that’s it.
