Deidra Benamati: Free admission. We opted not to purchase tickets for any extras, so we did miss out on those. We were a little unsure of what to do when we walked in. The gentleman said “welcome” with no further instructions. I questioned, “so we just walk around?” His reply was “if you want to” and that was it. Other than the lack of information that we received, we enjoyed ourselves & our kiddos enjoyed it as well.

N C: The museum was great. Clean and lot to see. The kids loved it. It's a place for the whole family. Great learning experience.
Matt Swanson: Great history for all ages!
Bryan Gibbons: Fantastic museum experience. Free entry can't be beat, such a good value we even left a contribution to the museum at the door and paid to watch the 3D Oceans film. The whale skeletons and underwater tunnel walks were highlights of our trip through. We rode nearby Scooters to make traveling around the city easier.
Dark Seraphim: Great museum for children and the adults responsible for them. The exhibits are gorgeous and the whale skeletons awe inspiring. Definitely recommend.
Kaley Saunders: Its was amazing very interesting and educational. Highly recommend.
MJ Worldwide: Outstanding museum that continues to thrive and innovate. Currently under construction which is a testament to their constant growth. Big dinosaur stuff on the way! So informative and interactive. The exhibits truly come to life. The museum is free however certain exhibits are ticketed. Membership is less than $100 for families! You can’t beat that. A beautiful place to learn and grow. I highly recommend and look forward to coming back, I’ve been visiting this museum since I was a kid! I admire the progress and look forward to more knowledge and creativity. Stop by when you can!

Bklyn Gal: Great place to go if your looking for a bit of history on North Carolina. You definitely can’t do it all in one day. There were a lot of other museums within walking distance.
E Y: I highly recommend this science museum. Admission is complimentary, with the exception of special exhibits. The museum boasts a vast array of exhibits that are both educational and engaging. I suggest checking their online calendar for special events and exhibits. Parking is readily available on the side of the road during weekends, unless there is a special event such as BugFest. However, the café could benefit from some enhancements.

Jocelyn Duvivier: Celebrated my brother graduation party here! Loved it!
Robin Rogers: I attended an Adult Prom. Very nice atmosphere. My only concern would be the floors. They are dangerous for high heels 👠
Halli Boman (Hal): Charming museum of local history
T Robinson: Had my wedding reception here. Lynda and her staff were the best! If you are looking for an event space...check them out!
Sadie Reid: Cute museum, small and not much
Vivek Bhargava: Great place to learn the history of Raleigh. Good place to hold a party too.
Michael Robles: The building was easy to find and the staff was very helpful. Interesting and very elaborate displays.
Keisha Manning: I had my significant other's 50th birthday party here & it was nothing short of AMAZING!!! Lynda is the best to work with & the staff was so accommodating! If you're looking for a venue, I highly recommend this tucked away jewel!
David Jr. Diggs: The man working their was informative, helpful, kind, and sincere. If every museum had people who acted like him the world would be a smarter place.
Jehiel Ortiz: Nice place to go with family. You really learn here.
Michael Miller: Much smaller than the North Carolina Museum of History, but this place is definitely worth a visit. It's free and gives an inside look to the city of Raleigh itself.
Rebekah Reed: I was here with a group of kids. The museum highlights the history of the founding of Raleigh through now. It has a lot of memorabilia from old stores from the early twentieth century. Although they had numbered descriptions of many of the items they didn't have numbers next to the items described, so it was kind of hard to know what was what. I wouldn't plan on spending a lot of time there with smaller kids as it's an informative rather than interactive museum. The kids did a city planning program, which was fun, but it seemed like there could have been more instruction to help them connect the building with blocks they did with how city planning is actually thought through.
Luisa Medina: It’s a cute tiny museum that’s free to the public. It talks about the history of Raleigh, but I just wish it was bigger than just one floor.
T. Shaffner: This museum was sort of bizarre. The exhibits it has are decent, but would make you think the entire history of the city was the fight for equity/rights. If you want some of that history you can get an overview here (though I wished this went deeper too), but that's almost it (apart from a maps section). Any Raleigh history on other topics is elsewhere. In the "City of Raleigh" museum, that seemed really....weird.If you want to actually learn and explore history, I'd suggest the history museum on the other side of the Capitol. I went there next and, while it wasn't focused on Raleigh, it also wasn't like a version of history with anything inconvenient ripped out.
Curt V: Normally, I love museums. This one I was not enamored with. I waffled between a 3 or 4 star rating. The museum is located in a historic down town Raleigh building. It's free as are most museums in Raleigh which is fantastic. The museum had an exhibit on Jewish residents of the city, women's suffrage, the Civil rights movement and cartography. There are also static exhibits of local history. The exhibits are nicely done.. My big issue with the museum is that it's small, therefore the exhibits are small. There's so much history here in Raleigh so to me, the museum falls short. If you have a couple of hours to spend, this is a good place to do it.
Bria James-Hall (iamBriaJames): Great space to have a party! Staff was very nice & professional! Definitely will be back again!!
Colvin Will Do It: Awesome place!
Sylvia Massuda: There wasn't much to the museum. Interesting but very small for a museum

emily pierce: First, Andy the tour guide was well organized, knowledgeable, and humorous. He was great and had an answer for every question.By visiting this house, we learned about social factors of the last century (small and large). And their effects on neighborhoods both then and now. Dr. Pope and his family have an intersecting history. We would recommend this tour to others.
Rebecca Pierce: We really enjoyed our visit to the Pope Museum. It was great to learn about the history of the Pope family and a part of Raleigh that we had never heard about, even after living here for several years. Andy was a very knowledgeable and engaging tour guide. Highly recommend!
Peggy Williams: Great tour today by a young man who was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the pope Family. i really love black history and was amazed at how much he knew. He is an asset to the community and the museum.
Ian and Liz Plane: Has potential but needs some attention
Michael McCaskill: My son and I went today right at 1:00 pm. Andy immediately greeted us and offered us a guided tour, which we gladly accepted. Andy spent 45 minutes with us, detailing not just the history of Dr. Pope but also how his history tied into North Carolina and U.S. history. Andy was not only very informative but clearly passionate about history and Dr. Pope. It was amazing have a tour guide who wasn’t there for the job but for the history. Thanks Andy!

Falan E: became one of Raleigh’s most influential African-American citizens of his day and the first Doctor of NC.There is so much history to absorb in this house. The most amazing discovery was the furniture, fine china, the decor, and the book collections, which gave a glimpse of what the Pope family had in their reading collection. Loved it!(Traducido por Google
Nicole Johnson: Un gran hallazgo inesperado.
Chip Kennedy: Lovely hidden gem of a house museum with the great story of a prominent Black Raleigh doctor and his family. Full of interesting history!
Angela Gibbs: It has original pictures antiques and genuine black history.
Michelle Snyder: Walked by and decided to check it out. Guide was very informative and friendly!

Michael Glass: I started my visit in the main building. The first thing I noticed was the unusual mix of art from different countries displayed together. While the collection in the main building was nice, there was nothing exceptional.Having spent more than 90 minutes in the first gallery. I was hesitant in going into the second or east galleryHaving spent more than 90 minutes in the first gallery. I was hesitant in going into the second or east gallery but decided. But decided to take a quick look. I'm so glad I did.In this building, I discovered a large collection of Remington and Roden sculptures, an impressive collection of named American and French artists. The Egyptian and Asian exhibits were impressive. The big surprise was the Jewish collection of silver pieces. There was also a large collection of African/Black American garments, but after spending 4 hours visiting other exhibits, I was too exhausted to continue. While not world class, this museum is worth a visit.

Jon Lugo: Good things it was free, or I would ask for my money back. Small collection and the majority of it was clowns this time. No joke. I would skip it and go down the street to 311 gallery.
Dark Seraphim: Wonderful local contemporary art space. It is a bit small but, the space is very intimate and allows for a lot of contemplation and conversation. I definitely enjoyed the experience. Located downtown so parking can be a bit tight at times. Definitely worth a visit if you want to engage with some interesting works in a wonderful local space.
Jason Child: This is a great, small museum that does a wonderful job at centering amazing BIPOC artists.
michael holland: I attended a special event which did carry a cost, however ordinarily entry into the venue may be free. I'm not sure. This was my first time there. Very nice venue though.

ameena ali: Ok this place is one of the oldest homes in Raleigh and Joel Lane is the contributor of the first 1000 acres to make Raleigh the capital of NC. I might be off with numbers but you get the gist. I was visiting from Virginia. Must see for your self step back in time. Staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant thank you my lovely tour guide. Support your local historical land marks share in the past with friends and family! They honor the former slaves that help maintain the property with a monument on site.

Caitlyn Coyner: Absolutely awful
Allison Eberle (Allie E): Visited here a few years ago and was going through an old journal entry and I had forgotten how sad and lacking this Museum was. There were very few features there on the lives Joel controlled and ruined, and all the literature described Joel as some kind of admirable man. It left a gross taste in my mouth. Perhaps I'll visit again if they do a major overhaul. Do not reccomend.
Buddy Pulley: Fue genial.

The lady who works here is so kind, understanding and has amazing customer service skills. She was so helpful and made wonderful accomdations and was always ready to help. We even got to be on their insta and facebook story. She helped us take photos, gave us a tour and was nice enough to set us up on the 360 selfie thing. She was beautiful inside and out and made our expierence wonderful. They do have selfie stands but you may have to adjust to your phone, they are clean and have so many photo op options.
