Noe Corea: Good place and professional staff
Corinna Shuler: Excellent venue!
Grato Cocina: Hermoso!! Organizado
oats oliphant: Seats are tight if you are a bigger person
Brian Mountain: I recently went to see a dance performance here and was disapointed with the staffs blind, willingness to forgo someone's right to film. First of all it's a public building and people have the right to film. Secondly, there are no signs saying cameras prohibited. It makes little diffrent that the performance presenters requested no cameras. For those thinking these were paid performers, no...I was filming my daughter. There are also a far overreach by limiting size of womans handbags that couldn't be explained rationally. Every time I come to this place I feel that the security staff, allthough very nice have no respect or don't understand basic fundmental rights. However they are either grossly undertrained or these are teachings from the higher ups.
charlene wilson: Great time! Awesome venue!
Tom Hartley: Good venue with seats close enough to enjoy shows.
John Jones: This is a beautifully appointed event center... From ballet to graduations, musical events to speaking engagements... This a highly versatile venue... Wonderfully appointed and comfortable seating... The sound system as well. Balanced and true to tone... Highly recommend this. Auditorial and it stands as a credit to the Raleigh events venues available...
William Thompson: Beautiful building.
Faith Johnson: I love this theater
Quinton Powell: Great place..
K. M.: I honestly don't like the seating...too tight. There was also a strong smell of marijuana throughout the comedy show and several staff walked around and ignored it.
David Miller: A beautiful place
Rosemarie Vaughan: Always a great experience!
Dale Merritt: Excellent venue for a play or recital. We enjoy it annually. Good snacks and adult beverages during intermission as well.
David Banks: Spacious theater with staff who are helpful, security conscious, and professional
Bailey Shaffer: Attended Carolina Ballet's performance of Orpheus and Eurydice. It was Excellent‼️
Ricky Graves: My wife and I attended the Porgy and Bess Opera. The show was great. This was an exceptionally clean and well-organized entertainment venue!
Zechariah 4:6: Great venue

Steven Silver: Nice place
Corinna Shuler: Great indoor venue
G B: Beautiful venue! 3 different stages for a variety of shows…🎶
Regina Freeman: Outstanding!!!. Very nice venue. Great staff,, awesome selection and prices on refreshments
Robert Horvick: Great venue for shows.
Juan Rincón: Beautiful place. Elegant and the service of the staff is exceptional
Mark Weaver: A beautiful historic Raleigh landmark.
Preston Ball: Saw Les claypool slap that bass
Scott Keck: Saw Les Claypool and Talking Heads play there. It was a great night. Good music, awesome place.
yusuf zeybek: It was beautiful. You feel like in a time machine. Especially some of the 3D drawings are amazing. Wherever you stand, eyes on the picture are following. We had a great time with my family there.
Regina Beard: Due to weather, Thursday’s outdoor NCMA concert featuring Robert Glasper and Samara Joy was moved to the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. It was my first time in this building and it was very nice. Samara Joy was absolutely beautiful, talented and amazing!
FRED BURGESS: Went to see Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers. The staff was very friendly and courteous. This is a great venue for music.
Phil B: Great venue but the only drawback is no videos. This is a plus in a way, more so to other people than me. Still a great venue.
Atiya Smith: Nice went there for graduation.
valentin figueroa: Muy bonito
Mariss: I attended the NCMA's Jazz Concert Series with performances from Grammy winners Samara Joy & Robert Glasper this evening. The show was moved from the NCMA park amphitheater to the Martin Marietta Center due to threats of a thunderstorm. I was grateful and in awe at how quickly the NCMA and Martin Marietta Center put this together for us. I really enjoyed this venue, the comfortable seating and the staff. The only thing this venue is missing is new railing for all the stairs throughout the theater. Older folks had a hard time climbing and going down the stairs without any support. Young women in heels as well. Street Parking is available along E. South St near the signs that are marked 2 hour. If you have money to burn, the Municipal parking lots are available as well at a cost.My friend and I purchased lawn seating with low expectations and were blessed with great seats inside the theater tonight for the show. Samara Joy was truly a joy to watch tonight. This young lady has a stage presence and talent for putting on a entertaining show. As a daughter of a late jazz musician, Jazz music is all about storytelling. Samara gets that. I anticipate more from her. Her range and enthusiasm for commanding an audience will always be memorable to me. Robert Glasper is an experience. His music is not for everyone. He fuses Jazz and Hip Hop into a unique one of a kind sound that commands the attention of whoever his audience is. Robert is an entertainer who brings all the fun and games and then some to the stage. The acoustics were great in this theater.
Anna Ran: Wonderful place to do an intimate graduation.
Mitch Fleig: Really nice place! Staff was friendly.
Angela Kennedy: The concert I went to was amazing but they were having technical issues with the sound. I was expecting something better from the theater. It wasn't terrible but can definitely improve. Also need better instructions about parking in the area!
Y. P.: The venue & staff are nice, but if you sit in the "nosebleed" sections like I did...take binoculars. I don't know why these big concert halls don't invest in monitors. They certainly can afford it.
Brian Sudol: Not a bad seat anywhere

Karen Snipes: Gran juego.
Cambria Sinkez: Really cool theatre space connected to a school. The entrance was a little difficult to find but there is a big sign above the door.I view 2 really cool aerial circus shows put on by Cirque De Vol here.
Ian Shields: Great small theater in a historic setting. Many plays along with some older classics. Inexpensive tickets.
Kelly Thompson: This is my favorite theater in Raleigh! I am never disappointed by their performances. Most of their plays are fairly unpopular, so there is always something that I have never seen before! I try to see their performances a few times a year!
Jeff Philips: It is small and cozy. Almost feels like you are in the show.
Merri Meredith: A nice friendly theater with parking. I saw Fuddy Meers here. It was a fun play with a wonderfully talented cast. I recommend this theater if you have the opportunity to go. 🧜‍♀️
Emmi Marie: The plays are well.chosen. Performances rely on the actors' talents rather than elaborate backdrops or props. Small, intimate theater experience. It has always been a joy to attend.
Jennifer Suarez: Fantastic, intimate black box theatre. No bad seats in the house, and the performances were excellent.
Frank Duggs: Recently went to a wedding. Stay away. This place a gross. And from the “manager or owners” response to people writing review’s they are basically saying “you knew what this was when we walked through”. Chairs were falling apart. No toilet paper or hand towels. If you have money stay away, if your on a budget……stay away. Hopefully the management will stop responding to peoples complaints with “ol well, get over it”. Zero stars.
Lauren Liebal: Please head this warning and do not (for any reason) book this venue for your wedding or any event other than a play. You will regret your decision, here’s why:1) At first glance this venue is appealing for various reasons. It’s unique, it’s downtown, it has a neat history and it’s mostly unknown. Also the price point is low up front (you pay for this later though). All these things attracted me to the venue.Reasons NOT to book this venue:1). Simply put, they are not equipped to facilitate events, of any kind. They do not have a staff that can or will accommodate you for your event, so you are all on your own for planning. This seemed cool at first, but there were so many gaps that needed to be filled and weren’t leading up to, and during, our wedding. Making it worse, the director of the venue went out of town the weekend of our wedding without telling us and didn’t respond to my emails or calls for 2 days - as I was trying to figure out how to get keys. Talk about panic! Finally my fiancé had to drive to the venue and was able to find an intern working.2). The venue was FILTHY, and I mean filthy. One of our vendors charged us extra after the wedding because of how much they had to clean and also because the bathrooms were completely empty from toilet paper and paper towels on the onset of the wedding. No care goes into maintaining the venue and even they will tell you, they only have it cleaned once a month, maybe. It took an army to clean the venue for the wedding and even then, it was still filthy. I can’t focus on this enough. It took hours and hours and so much manual labor to try and get the place to a satisfactory level of “clean”.We had our wedding in August, just after they had run a summer camp for kids - and they didn’t get the venue cleaned after. This is normal for them.I really can't stress how dirty the place was.3) Everything you do will be 100% A La cart. Again, this seemed cool at first, but I so wish I had chosen a venue that had typical (less stressful) wedding packages with staff that was pre-built into the budget to accommodate. I had to hire every bit of my staff individually. This made planning so difficult to manage - even with a wedding planner.4) Accommodations: The chairs the venue had for us to use were completely falling apart. The second you touched them, an arm would fall off or they were start to lean.5) You’re responsible for getting the keys and physically locking up. Not something you want to have to focus on on your wedding night. Just something else to worry about. All in all - I ended up having a pretty stressful wedding just trying to clean the theater alone. We had about 15 family members in town helping us and the facility was still a complete mess. Nothing was stocked in regards to amenities (TP, soap, paper towels) and you're also responsible for moving and putting back the risers. The risers alone were another full-time job.I wish I had seen an honest review from a former bride who used this venue. It would have saved me so much stress. Please keep looking for another venue. You will be so glad you did.
LaDonna High: Great place and great people and great show
Edith Berry: I have visited Burning Coal Theatre before as well as performed! It's a great intimate size theatre. Jerry, the owner and artistic director was very accommodating to The Agape Theatre Project's production of Sweet Mama Stringbean: The life and Times of Ethel Waters on Sunday, July 3rd. He came out to correct a lighting issue because technology is great when it works! It was corrected and as we say in show business, "The Show Must Go On!" And it did!
Irena W: ❤
LuAnn Kinney: New experience, small venue, excellent performances by all 3 in The Road to Mecca.

Brandi Myers: I went to see the 85 South Comedy Show and it was hilarious! The DPAC is a very nice venue!
Deb Jones: Perfect Chicago performanceMasks. YuckDrinks small expensiveSeating -crawl over each other, need walking room, and too far back, staff told us wrong side to enter row!Show was great, venue needs more space between rows and train usher staff on being helpful.Need signage directions from parking to venue.
Chris Meehan: Absolutely love DPAC. The theatre is well run, parking is easy, it’s a convenient location in downtown Durham, the off-Broadway shows are 5-star and they have a great variety, lights and sound are impeccable, ushers are friendly, ticket and security checks are efficient, and prices are fair (definitely less than Broadway). One of my favorite places, anywhere! They sent this update recently via email: “DPAC is nationally recognized as the #1 theater in the U.S. by VenuesNow in their recently released 2023 mid-year rankings. DPAC was also ranked as the #2, #3 and #5 theater in the nation by Pollstar and Billboard Magazine.”The rankings are well deserved!!
Howard Cheetham: Great for Broadway shows on tour
Katrina Farris: Saw SIX and it was amazing.
carolina bull: Great @carolinabull
Kassandra Stewart: I've only been here once, from out of town, and loved it. It's a very clean place with clean bathrooms and very nice employees. We arrived very close to show time and still got in with plenty of time to use the rest room and get something from consessions. We watched S.I.X. and loved it
Deanna Lopez: I watched The Beach Boys and it was an awesome show! The establishment was modern and easy to navigate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great sound too!
Yoshi Da: Always a good time.
Michal Schmitt: I have been to a number of DPAC shows and have always been impressed with the experience. Each year they have a variety of excellent shows featuring top talent. There isn't a bad seat in the house. The facility is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are a few paid parking decks in the area but arrive with plenty of time since it can get quite congested.
Michael Sullivan: 6 was fantastic.
Christopher Kearney: Located right in the American Tobacco Campus and a 5 minute walk to Downtown Durham, you have ample choices to choose between both before and after your show. From world class performances to local act, DPAC has it all.
Tom G: Easy to get in and out, venue was clean, staff was friendly - all in all, a great experience.
Cathy White: Six was absolutely fantastic!
Xavier Bantang: Great concert experience. Our balcony seats were amazing. Amazing acoustics, intimate feel. Easily one of my favorite venues in the country.
