G Blair: I ordered a vegan gluten-free vanilla cake with strawberry/ coconut filling for my husband’s birthday as some of our guests were vegan and/or had gluten intolerance. We honestly didn’t have high expectations lol bc vegan AND gluten free?! We’ll Sweetheart Treats blew this order out the park. In fact this cake is one of the best we’ve ever had - including ones with dairy. Moist, full of flavor and not overly sweet. The order and drop-off process was smooth with great customer service. All of our guests went for 2nd rounds and most importantly the birthday ‘boy’ gave it 5/5.Thank-you for helping to make this day an extra-special one!

I tried ordering this cake from a few other places I was recommend, and they all said I needed to order two plus weeks in advance and that they can only do 40+ serving size custom cakes. I just needed a small cake in the shape of a baked potato!I had already tried Sweetheart Treats amazing cupcakes and other treats, so I knew they would give me a flavorful and moist cake, but I didn't know what a thoughtful, incredible job they would do!I ordered a custom cake less than a week before it was needed, and they emailed me back immediately with pricing and options, saying that my idea made them laugh and they could do it.This baked potato cake was such a joy to order and receive! The baker told me that she also loves baked potatoes as much as my brother, and she was so excited to work on this cake. I showed her some basic pictures and she DELIVERED. This cake is STUNNING and I show it to everyone with pride.Look no further for a great tasting cake made with love - this is by far the best cake I have ever ordered, and I'm not sure it can ever be topped. Tarryn Trombley: Stopped by this center on my way home tonight looking for a treat for my son to celebrate a potty training success! I had thought I’d seen a bakery there but had no idea if they’d be open still. They were just locking up for the day but the owner was super sweet and insisted on opening back up to let my daughter and I pick out a couple of cupcakes. I am sure she wanted to get home so I really appreciated her exceptional kindness. There were lots of yummy looking options - we loved our chocolate and butter pecan flavors! I can see I am not the only one who likes this place - we will definitely be back!
Jennifer Westfall: We took our daughter, who has several food allergies, by the bakery for a birthday treat without checking the shop hours. Even though she was closed to walk-in orders, Mary saw that my daughter was all decked out in a dress-up outfit and opened up just for her. She told us she knew it had to be a special occasion and gave her a special unicorn decorated cupake. Mary was very knowledgeable about handling food allergies. We bought several more to take home and loved them!
Stu: SO. GOOD. There's like a bajillion flavors to choose from and you can't go wrong with any of them! We ordered hundreds of cookies and cupcakes of various flavors and they were a total hit for our wedding. Way better than a wedding cake.

My family and I were buying some of their great breads and we stumbled upon some cockroaches crawly freely on top of the breads. Never again will I come here, I’m truly disgusted with this experience. I go in to pick up a cake that is bigger and more expensive when I had told them what I wanted. They try to charge me the price of the cake they made when I wanted something completely different. Just recently i ordered a big $90 cake in person to make sure they didn’t mess anything up. I go in to pick up the cake and I come to find out that they made two small round cakes. They continue to argue with me even though it’s not what I ordered. They expected me to pay that much money on something I didn’t ask for. I demanded a refund or money in return. They gave me $20 back and I kept both cakes. I still don’t think it’s right because it wasn’t my mistake.

Yo vivo retirada y anda locamente serca y pace "La Espiga".El pan y todo estaba duro si sabor y sabía ya rancio me compre también unos panes rellenos de queso y jalapeños de adentro estaban enlamados tenia mold. En punto es que tire todo pague $40 para la basura. De mi parte no vuelvo a este establecimiento por que aquí ya no cuidan la calidad del producto.

Vienes a veces y el pastel de tres leches es genial... y otras veces es el peor tres leches que hayas probado en tu vida con un pastel viejo/rancio que está blando y se desmorona por estar tanto tiempo en la leche. La panadería ubicada en Renaissance Park es mucho mejor, pero me queda mucho más lejos para conducir ahora.

No recomendaría ir aquí y en su lugar ir a Knightdale o realmente a otro lugar. Todo en la tienda que se supone que es fresco, se prepara uno o dos días antes y luego se hace. No son calientes o tibios al comprar.

Dylan Bouterse: Valentine's Day, lazy husband. Need carrot cake. And it's SUNDAY!So I start the usual Google Maps search looking for open bakeries on a Sunday. Called several places that were open with no luck for carrot cake. By chance found Balcazar, open, but they didn't have any carrot cake. Never fear, they offered to make one and turn it around in 1.5 hours! I was assured the baker made excellent carrot cake. As you can see, I had very little choice but to go with this option. So I place the order and tell the wife we have success! (with fingers crossed)I arrived right on time to pick up the cake (6p sharp). The very nice lady that took my order over the phone was excited to see me. She even wanted to take a picture of me with the cake before I left. She was very sweet (pun intended). Ok, that's all well and good, but was the cake good? My wife and I both LOVE carrot cake, and know not every carrot cake is created equal. Such is the case with this one. IT WAS DELICIOUS! We may have to drive past 10 other bakeries to get to Balcazar, but I guarantee we'll be back!

alej keigan: My favorite spot in Wake Forest and one of my favorites in all of Raleigh area! We don’t require GF or DF but like when it’s available, and I do require ‘clean’ ingredients if I’m going to revisit a place. We haven’t tried all the baked goods here because the cupcakes are so delicious, I can’t break away from getting those. We did recently add a new favorite to our visits, which is the Oatly ice cream in a cone with rainbow sprinkles on top. I’m always finding little reasons for us to celebrate, to warrant a visit to Plant Cakes. Luckily we live 20 minutes away, so that controls our visits a bit. 🙂 The treats are amazing and the vibe of the shop and location make it a fun place to go.

Zachary Quinn: Great! The carrot apple muffin is one of the best baked goods I've had. The donuts are lighter than a typical donut, it tastes like they are made with less fat or oil in the dough, which is refreshing. The only down side is how far it is for me to drive there. Definitely will go again!

Aneesa P: On my way to Charlotte, I added Plantcake Bakeshop as a pitstop. I was super excited because who doesn't want to visit a dessert bar that has many different gf offerings. I walked in super excited after driving 3 hours and wasn't acknowledged until I spoke but that's okay.I started ordering and towards the end of filling my box I asked if they preferred the cookies or brownies. They said both as they were the best sellers and fan favorites. I wished this was something that was expressed to me in the beginning, friendlier service and recommendations. 2 hours later I arrived at my hotel and tried everything from my box. The cookie was so good and I wished I bought more. The muffins were okay and the donuts/cupcake had an odd aftertaste. Overall the $30 wasn't quite worth it but if I was around the area I'd come back to stock up on the cookies and try a brownie.

Helaine Teuschler: Absolutely Delicious! I had a Bar Mitzvah for my grandson with all kosher food, and since we could not mix milk and meat, we needed a cake that had no dairy or animal products. So, this was not a party of vegan guests, and they had no idea that all the desserts were vegan, but everyone at the party raved about how good everything was! 5 stars would not even be enough for quality and flavor, but I gave 4 rather than 5 stars because I spent A LOT of money for a two tiered cake and 8 dozen cupcakes and they were given to me to drive in a flimsy open box that had no way of holding the cake in place. (They were unable to deliver, so they were aware that I was driving from Wake Forest to Garner) ) There was nothing sturdy, not even a plate underneath, or solid steady way to keep the cake from sliding all over...I had to keep pulling over to reassemble the cake, smooth out the icing and stick the strawberries back on because there was no way to move even very very slowly without the cake getting damaged. In the end, I would definity shop at Plant Based Cakes again, but I would be weary of purchasing any cakes super large or fragile for transporting.
Joel Mazza: I do not go out of my way for vegan or gluten-free foods, but my friend has dietary restrictions so we met here for coffee. The vegan donuts are delicious and I don't feel bad after I eat one (or more) at a time. I think the gluten-free versions taste the best with an even flavor throughout. They rotate the donut variety often (yeah, I've been here a few times over a short period of time). with great flavors including "french toast" and "churro". The strawberry frosted donut is fantastic, oh and the chocolate, chocolate-frosted, and the pumpkin and... These are more expensive than a typical flour donut, but for a really nice treat, I think it's worth it and so much better than a traditional deep-fried donut. (And they freeze really well, so you can buy a dozen and enjoy them over a few days, or an hour...) Love this place and the owners seem like great people.

Abby Baker: Finally, a place where they have an abundance of gluten free donuts! They have daily flavors so follow their socials for updates. They offer vegan/gluten free or just vegan options. The cinnamon rolls are delish, if only they had a GF option for those, I would be in heaven. My husband said he couldn’t even tell it was vegan. Prices are higher than most places but it’s worth it if have dietary restrictions.

Noelle Dixon: Wow! I bought a French toast donut. It was moist and delicious, however, it lacked a French toast flavor. Gave it a 4 star because of that and my 1 donut was $4.09. I went to another mom and pop donut shop (not plant based) 2 specialty donuts for $5.69. I get plant based is more expensive, so if plant based cuisine is your lifestyle then I would recommend. However, if it's not your lifestyle, it's an overpriced donut.

Catherine Bartels: We love this bakery and I'm so happy that we found it! I wish they were closer to Cary but they are SO GOOD that we will even drive out to Wake Forest for them! We've ordered several birthday cakes from here to accommodate family members with egg, dairy and soy allergies and Mark and Jess have been SO helpful and accommodating. It is hard to find a vegan restaurant or bakery that can also accommodate a soy allergy but we can have almost everything at Plant Cakes Bakery! We are not gluten free so I can't speak to any of the gluten free products but the rest was delicious!

Anthony: Longtime loyal patron. I’ve been coming here consistently enough and for enough years to have observed the significant post-covid decline into low mediocrity. Staff are almost always observably confused, overwhelmed, and / or stoned, even during off-peak hours. They used to give you four pita with whatever you bought—now they only give you two itty bitty ones, and that’s only if you ask for it explicitly. Like, come on: I’m getting a meal which consists primarily of DIPS. You should be giving me enough pita to clear the plate without ever needing a utensil, without my asking. No one on Earth wants to eat straight hummus with a fork. Every time I ask for a couple extra grape leaves, they look at me like I just landed from another planet, as if it’s some profound imposition.Food used to be the best. Now it’s just okay. This place used to be kind of secret, but is now overrun with a 99% W.A.S.P. crowd. They’ve adjusted their prices to fit that, too. Egregiously exorbitant prices, barely competent service and utterly forgettable food make Neomonde a no-go for me from now on.
