Is great for childrenBaños: Is clean
Was okay just had a lot of summer camp kids who were pushy and mean
Angela Brock: Lot of improvements have been made to Chavis park since I was there last. The track, playground area, a splash pad has been added, and the actual Center itself is amazingly big on the inside. The community really should be proud of how the park has been transformed. The Merry go Round is still there and operating!! 2$ is the price of the rides. My twins were 3 when they use to ride and the price wasn't that much then. They are 34 now with teenagers theirself. 20 thumbs up John Chavis Memorial Park for looking out for our Children!!!!Área de juegos: Yes, beautifulBaños: PlentyAcepta perros: Not really, there is not a designated area for dog, although plenty of walking for them off the track.Área de pícnic: I didn't see any, but I'm sure that somewhere in that large park area
Kelly Collins: Splash pad and community center are fantastic!
Pearly D Love: Perfect spot for the kids
IAMKJB: We used the Carousel House for a retirement celebration. This is a beautiful location and I'd highly recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 ⭐️ is because staff "checked in on us more than usual, and it was awkward.
Yolanda Perez: This place is so amazing becuase it has a gym, track, basketball courts, and a huge playground for kids that is actually fun. Oh and a splash pad.
Aspyn Andrea Maher: Too much garbage out on splash pad!! Clean up there are kids out there people.
Shop Anangorium: My kids love this playground. A nice family spot. Nice place for parents to sit and watch their kids enjoy being kids.
Ciera Shannon: Beautiful Park ! Our kids really enjoyed the splash pad. The playground is very modern and up to date. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be returning.
Best for older kids maybe 7 and up?
Joshua Parker: Área de juegos: Separate playgrounds for small kids and big kids. Climbing, swings, slides, splash zone. Really cool.

Jennifer Slusser: and apples slices. There are lots of shaded spaces and a few picnics spots.(Traducido por Google
Jeanette Bowers: They're a hoot!(Traducido por Google
Victoria Fash: and pick the free pecans in season. You can wander around and read the historic plaques and walk through/read about the information guides on its prior use as a cotton/pecan farm. It's such a lovely little space.(Traducido por Google
Denise Rhodes: Great experience for their holiday tour. I took my mother-in-law who was visiting and we had a wonderful time. Staff were excited, friendly and knowledgeable
David Miller: Nice open area to walk. Has a story walk for kids and an area to feed goats.
Gloria Rader: Every time we drive down from Farmland In. to visit our daughter and son-in-law we hike the trail from the long drive.
Terri Gordon: Beautiful day, great experience for kids and adults!!!!
Paul Griesbach: Nice community park.Easy to hike the two trails.Goats and farm to get taste of local agricultural history. It’s a good visit that could be made better with farm animal food dispensers.
Karen Vaichus: Amazing gem in the heart of the city. Perfect for families with kids looking for a place with farm animals and walking trails.
Tammy Yu: If you bring carrots or apples you can feed the very friendly goats and there's a great trail. Maybe .70 miles easy for kids
Janelle Stephenson: Fantastic!! Great information. We walked through Christmas through the ages.
fergman311: Love taking the kid to see the goats.
Barbara Spence: Thoroughly enjoyed the tour today. Lovely property, interesting history. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Took some great photos...only professional photographers are charged. Will recommend to friends and family!
riffraffwriting: Very interesting and informative tour. Knowledgeable guide who answered lots of questions.
Dale Miller: Wonderful holiday tour.Need update on arrow pointing to directions into property.
Robin Gregorinci: What a cool hidden gem. Hubby and I went for a Christmas at Oak View free tour (this is offered daily) and enjoyed it very much. In the past this was a Plantation. During the tour they step you through what Christmas would have been like in different time periods and tell you about the owners. If you are a local you will recognize the names. After the tour we went in the buildings that weren't part of the tour and walked the trails in the woods. The goats were entertaining and loved the attention (tip: if you make a little clicking noise with your tongue they will come right to you). We enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. The park is well maintained and was quite busy on a dreary Sunday afternoon.
Jared Allen: Great spot for photos!
GalliVANting_Emches: We enjoyed feeding the goats and harvesting pecans with our grandchildren.

Matthew Medwig: Cool place, huge area. 4th of July was a good show they put on!! Nice show out, probably a couple thousand people there. Everyone acted like adults too
Susan Charlton: Went for the sunflowers. The play area is going to be huge.
Melissa Enoch: Dorothea Dix Park has a field of sunflowers growing and currently blooming. Was excited to see them. Was lured with the hopes of food trucks and music but despite not having that, was able to view the flowers, learn numerous facts about sunflowers and even explore a historic graveyard. We learned the history of the campus and searched for notable Eli Hill, but did not find him.Vote to return.
Econo Auto Sales inc: Long walk, but I like it
Sheri McCormack: Perfect place to sit in a hammock or to take photos!
Jim Bullard: Beautiful but should have a little longer for the blooms to open
CariAnn Watson: Sunflowers are on their way
Maria Fernandez: July 4th at Dorothea Dix Park, was very entertaining, many dos trucks, games for kids, god music and more
Baños: N.aAcepta perros: Great for for pets.Área de pícnic: Def options
Irina *****: parque tranquilo
Arrenda Renea Harris: visita esposo
Dan Miller (HighTechGeek): Beautiful park but needs updated comfortable picnic tables and benches and seating for larger, elderly and disabled people. Everyone likes comfortable seating. The ones near one parking lot are very rough concrete with concrete block supports, up on a hill and the foundations are nearly washed out with tree roots all around. Very sharp and uncomfortable (painful) to sit on and not enough room for larger people between the bench and table. Please provide more wider, comfortable benches for everyone.
Carsten Mølsmark: Beautiful park with nice variety of nature and interesting old buildings.
Alexis: Baños: Porta potties
Clay Henderson: I was cured of what ailed me here. The cages were extra strong, and the administered shock therapy, well, it seems to have worked. I have lost all impulses to rebel against the system. Witnessed a pretty built native American man smoother another patient with a pillow and proceed to throw a sink out of one of the windows and then run off into the end credits. But the music was great. Would recommend.
Monserrat A.: Nice park. Paved paths. Good signage.

Emilee Myers: Gran lugar.
Chris Clark: both join the Neuse River Trail around the park so it’s also a good place to meet up for cyclists from all over Raleigh and the surrounding area.(Traducido por Google
Ivan Rodriguez: Excelent place..
Allie Thurkill (Sock Thief): . I took off one star because there are a ton of fire ant hills all over the park, so you really have to watch where you step. The bathrooms were clean and stocked also.(Traducido por Google
Jasmine Henry: This was my first visit to this park. It was not as clean as expected but the biking/walking trails were great!! Will visit again.
🙂❤Baños: Restrooms are clean.Acepta perros: Dogs are welcomed.Área de pícnic: Several picnic areas.
rosa avey: Área de juegos: NiceBaños: CleanÁrea de pícnic: Nice
Tanna Johnson: Very beautiful, old cottage is more of a retreat space so you can't get in to look at it, but beautiful park!
Luis Castillo: Beautiful place. Bike trail, places to sit, cabins for free and for rent special occasion, parking lot, birds observation, kids play, huge land space. play ground
Brian Smith: Great spot to take a break after riding on the Neuse River Greenway.
makayla green: best place to have picnics/cookouts!! used to come here during spring 2021/2022 and it was awesome, will definitely come again in the spring!
Sonshy9 Womack: Nice...it's closed but I walk my 4 legged pets there. Peaceful and clean
Bonita sombra y bonitas vistas.
Garry Ruggiero: Limpiar el baño
