Slightly Southern: Great show! Service only average.
Shane: It was very hot inside but other than that it was an amazing time.
Ashley Law: Comida: 4/5|Servicio: 5/5|Ambiente: 5/5Más
Roopa Iisc: It was great country music
store Music: Was there one night and saw security kick a guy out by dumping him over the railing and into the trash, meanwhile staff laughed about it. Security also barged into the girls restroom because someone complained another woman was “taking too long” using the restroom, super uncomfortable. Lastly management is super unprofessional, has 22 year old bartenders messaging former employees being a petty sounding board for the company super professional. On top of the fact that most of their bartenders here under pour and over charge.
Tereena Jackson: Comida: 5/5|Servicio: 5/5|Ambiente: 5/5Más
Stephanie Padrick: The burger and fries were phenomenal! Music was too loud.
Kenneth Jones: Great atmosphere, excellent service, comfortable place to hear live bands
Kyle Messier: Servicio: 5/5|Ambiente: 5/5Más
Blaire Bear: . When we tried to explain the situation one of the guys at the stage (blond longish hair, black tank-top, and tattoos
Nicolas Gachancipa: Ambiente: 5/5Más
Taylor Prince: Great atmosphere, music, and service! Rooftop bar and smoking area
frank klemmer: Coole Party am Mittwoch... die Livemusik ist der Wahnsinn

Xclusive Baskets: I went to Virgils to have a birthday day dinner. We waited 15 minutes for the waiter after asking other servers they finally found him. I ordered tacos and substituted the pork for chicken. I was given a taco that I didn’t even order. Thank goodness I wasn’t allergic. The waiter told me the kitchen couldn’t make what I wanted. If that was the case why didn’t the server come back and ask me to order something else instead of giving me what he wanted to give me. Or just fess up say you put the wrong order in and give me the option to order something else instead, The manger brushed it off as if I just didn’t want it… sorry sir but it wasn’t what I ordered. This will be last time going to Virgils
Justin Beblo: Absolutely one of the best venues in Raleigh, everyone here had a fantastic attitude service was great, and I really enjoyed my time here.
Alex Sarmiento: I hadn’t been downtown to eat in awhile. And this was a disappointing location to try out. Food was OK. Over priced for the quality. Many at the table got tacos and we traded around. It was fine. It just wasn’t WOW. The server didn’t seemed to be pleased we were there. That was a bit off putting. Maybe a different day could be better.
Andrew: God forbid you ask for salt and pepper the chef will come and personally shame you for having the gaul to modify his precious creations.
Greyson Fesperman: Virgil’s is amazing for food and drinks! We’ve been coming here for years and we are still obsessed with the food, drinks and staff! Rachel makes the BEST spicy margaritas!
Matthew Randall: Out of rice. No salad. Queso was cold. Forgot the elote. This place is an unadulterated disaster
Anna-Moriah Fung: S/O to Luis for being the best bartender!!!
Joy yunju Nam: Luis is amazingg!!
Eve B: Unfortunately almost had a tragic accident. Multiple bones in chicken tinga tacos. One larger than a quarter. Feels like either negligence or as if it was left there on purpose. There’s already barely any meat, couldn’t take a second to see a huge completely different colored object in the taco?!Bar staff super kind, quick service. Very clean and gorgeous atmosphere. Watch what your bites here!
Kayla: Nice spot for dinner! Has a modern, IG-friendly vibe to it (pretty dark inside though). Waitress was v nice, the food prices were fair, music was great! The chicken tacos and margarita were very average however - wonder if the food is better at other Mexican spots in the area that looked to be busier.
Cassie Pezza: Not worth going to. Elote was great, sopes were missing flavor, steak chimichurri had no chimichurri and was plain. Drink was good. But not the scale of experience for a $60 meal (total was $120 since we split it - other dish was a quesadilla and coke).
Julie A.: Meh, underwhelmed. Pros: elote and music. Cons: everything else… The restaurant is so dark I felt like my boomer mom having to use my phone to read the menu lol. Service was lacking. Carne asada was bland, no seasoning or flavor. Chicken quesadilla was way too expensive to be shredded chicken and it was also soggy on the bottom. Sopes tasted like they were doused in grocery store adobo sauce. $95 for 1 drink, 2 apps and 2 entrees? I won’t be back.
Duane Harper: Tried out Virgil’s for a light dinner before a comedy show. Overall, it was disappointing. The chips and guacamole were decent and the chicken quesadilla was good. The drinks however were all poorly made. Not sure if the bartender was new or just inexperienced. One drink used agave as a garnish but it overpowered the taste. My wife ordered different drinks than I did and they were sub par as well.
Bianca Fogle: This place was good prior to covid but not anymore. The chef doesn’t use gloves to handle meat and then touches tortillas right after… which can be explained by the 91% sanitation score. I ordered the Al pastor tacos and they had like 3 pieces of meat on them. Had to search for the meat underneath all the slaw. The drinks weren’t that good either. will not be returning. Can get much better Mexican food/drinks at Gallo Pelon down the street.
Johnette: I would give this place zero stars if I could. First of all, I've never been to a mexican place that made you pay for chips and salsa and then the salsa was'nt even good at all.Secondly, their portions are ridiculously small for the price and tastes so bland. I bought a $20 carne asada that had like 4 small bites of steak. Don't come here if you are used to good portion sizes and actually good tasting mexican food. Never going back.
Lori B: Was taken here for my birthday dinner and was very pleased with everything. Ceviche was fantastic and the sopes were delicious! Everyone in our party loved the food. Drinks were delicious. Will absolutely dine there again.
Zoe Lawry: Everytime I visit this place they never disappoint! The food is tasty and the drinks are fantastic! On my last visit it was me and my fiancé 6th anniversary. We got there maybe an hour after they opened and it was quiet, which I loved. Our waitress was amazing, very helpful with drink selections and keeping our water glasses full. We order so much but the highlight was definitely the short rib tacos, elotes and margaritas! I'm not usually a margarita drinker but I could actually drink this one and enjoy it! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
Polly Rodriguez: Terrific fun drinksYou must try the posole boats!
Juanita M: Went in with a group of 4 for an 8:30 pm reservation on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant is narrow with dim lighting but aesthetically pleasing. We were the only ones there and the environment was awkward to say the least. I understand the frustration of patrons coming in near closing time, but if that is a problem and the attitudes are going to reflect that, don't offer an 8:30 pm reservation slot in my opinion. However, we were aware that the restaurant would be closing soon so we had looked ahead and were prepared to order right away.Personally, I loved my meal. Ordered chili con queso for the table... delicious. One would think it isn't hard to get queso wrong but so many places do. I usually head to Torchy's if i'm craving queso but Virgil's puts up a worthy reconsideration.Maduros, my favorite food, were delicious. $6 for 6 plantains is a little steep though. The chicken quesadilla had great flavor and the margarita did what it needed to do. All together it came to $35.I agree with a lot of the other reviews that the service could be better but the food I ordered was delicious, so I'd be willing to go again.
