Michael Bonventre: No se deje engañar por el aspecto del lugar. La comida es mejor que la mayoría de los mejores restaurantes mexicanos. Tienen los mejores frijoles refritos y arroz que conozco. Las porciones también son geniales, junto con la salsa verde y las tortillas son las segundas mejores después de El Taco Feliz en la calle South Saunders.

The menu for that night was amazing it felt good to dine as if I wasn’t in Raleigh lol, it actually took me somewhere afar !!! The service was top tier hands down. He is afflicted with Parkinson’s disease and his motor skills are diminishing.With great pride and effort he walked, slowly, to our table and had a wonderful evening. The staff at Second Empire treated him with dignity and respect - while silently and graciously accommodating his needs with professionalism and kindness. Stacey Thompson: We've dined here several times for special occasions, and tonight we decided it will no longer be only a special occasion place for us. Each time we've been the food and service have been outstanding, and tonight we asked ourselves why we don’t come more often. We were just in Savannah recently and ate at a few fine dining restaurants and the only one that even compared was Noble Fare. We have such a great place right here in Raleigh and need to visit more often. My husband had the clams and mussels as his first course and he said it was exceptional. I had the Empire spring salad and it's one of the best salads I've ever eaten. He had the Kampachi fish for his entree and I had the short rib. Both were delicious. We shared the espresso semifreddo for dessert. The service is attentive but not intrusive. Everything was just perfect, including my martini. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. We prefer to dine in the tavern as it's nice and cozy and we enjoy the atmosphere. John Stranzl: This is the type of establishment where you go to dine in the classic sense, enjoy good food, and partake in relaxing conversation without feeling rushed through the dining experience. The staff are fabulous. The flavor combinations are excellent and balanced. The duck breast is not listed below, but some of us had this for our 2nd entrée. The cheese board was paired with excellent accompaniements and all desserts and breads made in-house. We took a family member for their birthday, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience in this wonderful historic house in the heart of Raleigh.Platos vegetarianos: They were very accommodating. They will make the meals without meat if you request it.
